Following the feast, your Head Boy and Prefect have led you up to the Gryffindor tower, given you the password, and opened up to the Common Room. Where – A PARTY IS!

The couches and chairs have all been arranged to allow maximum floor space. In one area, there is a table with drinks and snacks. Including Professor Newton’s brand new Gryffindor Tea, as well as the teas for the other houses if rooibos, chocolate and vanilla aren't for you. Even if you’re stuffed full of food, you might find some space with some wizarding and muggle snacks (savoury AND sweet), and of course a large jug of butterbeer.
Professor Newton and Madame Curie are here to welcome all of the new and returning Gryffindors, with a start-of-term activity to welcome back returning students and get to know the new students.

This was a thing. She was wearing GRYFFINDOR things. Proudly. YAY GRYFFINDOR. The girl who had insisted she was missorted and thought she should have been in Ravenclaw like her parents was now decked out entirely in Gryffindor colours.
"Who wants their face painted!?" She asked loudly eagerly. And who would volunteer to paint hers?

Noelle was beyond excited. She and Ava had talked about what the New Head of House would be doing. Nothing could beat Professor Airey but Noelle was excited to see what this new professor would bring to the table.

Noelle looked around the CR, debating on staying or going to her dorm.... Decisions decisions.

She headed back down in time to hear Char ask who wanted their face painted. The giddy third year bounced toward her fellow Lion. "Me! I'll paint yours too!" She smiled at the other girl. "How was your summer?" Because the two hadn't talked really since last term.

Art and Madame Curie arrived at the Common Room slightly after everyone else. All the drama back at the Feast was more than Art was comfortable dealing with. He was looking forward to letting his hair down, or...not, with the Gryffindors, back in his OLD common room.
In through the entrance he went, and beamed at the Lions. "Hello everyone!" he slightly yelled, delightedly. He was still in his old man muggle clothes, and his very OLD, greying Gryffindor Robes (slightly too short in both length and sleeve). Madame Curie still sported her red and gold bow.
"Looking very.. very festive tonight, Miss Kettleburn," Art said. He loved the Lion Pride. And she was doing face painting! "W-would you be able to do a lion on my face?" he asked. Yes, he would embrace the LION and embrace the creativity of all the Lions.
"Miss-Miss Summers, would you like to try some tea?" he asked. He wasn't sure if she looked as if she were coming or going, but he very much hoped she was staying. "Lovely jumper there, Miss Lupin," Art commented to one of his third years. All the red Lion things! "Are you all getting your face painted too?" He'd get Madame Curie's done but he didn't think she'd appreciate that very much, and he really hated it when she was cross with him.

Kaycee was busy making sure that all the first years safely arrived in the common room before entering herself. When she did, she grinned at the sight.
"Hello Professor." she greeted happily before looking around the room.
Aww. Look at the younger girls all dressed up. She grabbed a butterbeer, still not being used to the love of tea that was so common on this side of the world. She stood off the side watching Charlotte. She was kind of excited to see how all the face paint turned out.

Okay Noelle, positivity. Because, it looked like the people here were having fun. And face painting looked like it could be fun. Not to mention the tea looked delicious. And... it was tea. When was tea bad? You could never go wrong with tea.
Noelle smiled. Then greeted everyone and the professor that was speaking with her. "Hello Professor Newton! Are you excited about the new term?" She would make conversation with him and see what all he was about. The little drama in the Great Hall had sparked her interest in him a bit.
Plus he was a potions master, and she could use all the help she could get in that field of magic.

Distractions is as distraction does. This Tenacius knew all too well. By the time he rushed up to the Common Room, he had thought that most everybody was either busy settling into their dorms or have turned in for the night.
Lo and behold there be a shindig waiting for him!
"Ey guys! Hey Professor Newton, Madame Curie-- oh hey wait… Professor you mix tea?" whoah that’s something he didn’t know about the Potions man. And it makes sense too.
A nice cuppa for a nightcap is an awesome idea, and the Curly Top smiled broadly when he saw the selection "The Gryffindor mix sound awesome!... actually mixing the Gryffindor with the Slytherin selection would be most perfect--" And he proceeded to do just that, mixing the two selections in a cup. Go big or go home eh?
When he has his customized mix in a cup he turned to look at Char offering to do facepaint "Hey Char! Do one on me too." point point face pointing.

"Oh I can paint your face if you like, Toddles! What would you like on your face? I've painted house elves faces before actually, so you can trust me!" Really, the Kettleburn elf, Bambou, who had been in Char's mother's family for a long long time, was very willing to let Charlotte do such things.

This was curious. Kaycee didn't actually know much about house elves now that she thought about it. "You paint, Toddles?" she said genuinely curious.

Ahem, Olivia Phillips was absolutely planning to attend the "Welcome back" party, but her time at WADA over the summer had spoiled her to the ways of the theatre. Meaning....A CHANGE OF COSTUME was in order. That, and her school uniform was simply not comfortable enough to relax in. Eh, starchy shirt problems.
So, after slipping into some comfy pajamas and her POOP EMOJI bedroom slippers (and fitting her Gryffindor house tie around her head like a makeshift bandanna .... you know, for house spirit purposes), the blonde casually made her way back down to the common room, smiling brightly despite her legs being an achy mess. Oh, the growing pains .... BUT THAT WASN'T FOR THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW. She'd taken her medicine for it, and was prepared to throw herself right into the things. Apparently, THERE WAS A TEA situation. The best sort, in her opinion. Also, lolz, Professor Newton, you cute person. As if Liv wouldn't taste test all the available teas ... Adorable.
... AND CHAR WAS PAINTING FACES?! Well, then. After tending to her tea fix, preparing herself a bit of the Gryffindor blend for starters, she mosey'd on over to where Alice Lupin, a house elf, and others were getting painted up. "I require paints, tooooo."Hi, friend, hi.

With a loud POP! Nimma appeared in the center of the Gryffindor common room. The tray in her hands shook nervously, spilling a little bit of pumpkin juice over the tops of the cups. So many Masterses and Mistresses! Nimma didn't want to mess up. Nimma was a good elf, she was.
Nimma would do a good job serving Masterses and Mistresses! She stood up straighter and made her way to the nearest group of studentses. "Masterses and Mistresses like pumpkin juice?"
She started on the G using her brushes and the very Gryffindor paints.

Not that she didn't have a little experience at the moment. After her small part in a major muggle film she knew a little bit about how to stay still while someone touched her face.
"Wow.. that sounds like a very busy summer. But a very fun one." She let the smallest smile appear on her face but again, made sure it wasn't too big. "My brother offered to teach me archery, is it fun? Maybe i'll take him up on it." She thought maybe it would come in handy. Knowing things like this or how to ride a horse would look good on her resume. "How's Callum? I haven't seen him around?" Because why not ask after him too.. heh.

"I want a face paint too!" Growing up was hard to do!
Noelle excusedherself from the professor and grabbed a tea and eyed the butterbeer as she headed to the little group of students huddled around Char. "Hey everyone!" She said smiling bubbly at everyone.

When Matt saw the MASSIVE BANNER hanging there he couldn't contain himself. AND ALL THAT FLOOR SPACE! "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!!!!! GRYFFINDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!!" He yelled as he ran around with both fists raised up in VICTORYYYY. "BEST HOOOOOUSE, ROOOOOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRR!!!"

Once he was satisfied with his energy wasting boosting exercise, he came to a stop more or less in the middle of the room and looked around. So. Many. GIRLS. And professor Newt! "Heyo, professor Newt! Madam Curry! HI!" Matt waved at all them people. OHEYLOOK, IT WAS ACE. YES! At least he wouldn't have to hang out with only girls all night, sheesh. "CHEWIE!" The third year sounded like he hadn't seen his friend in centuries but... they had just come up from the Feast. WELP. Enthusiastic Matt was enthusiastic. "HELLO, HELLO." Just because the girls were also greeting everyone and also because Matt wasn't rude. He'd end up talking to most if not all of them eventually anyways.
Oheylook, TEA! He approached his friend Chewie and took a good look at the variety they had there. "Niiiiiiiiiiice. Whoa, that's weird." He said, pointing to the tea that represented Ravenclaw house. Then to the Slytherin tea. "That looks like oil." Meaning: he ain't drinkin' dat, mate. Yuck. "I like these." And SINCE Ace was mixing things up, Matt did too. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff teas looked drinkable and Matt reckoned they'd look - and hopefully taste - even better together. "I like mah tea white, but I'm a Gryffindor." He grinned at his FRIEND.
It made total sense.

Char listened and peered at his face when he pointed where the H could be and then nodded enthusiastically. Sure! She could do that!
"Okay! School spirit is cool!" Or she was a complete nerd but that was okay because so was he, since it had been his idea. She got started with the colours that she needed. She'd fix up an outline afterward so it was nice and crisp..

Apparently, THERE WAS A TEA situation. The best sort, in her opinion. Also, lolz, Professor Newton, you cute person. As if Liv wouldn't taste test all the available teas ... Adorable.
... AND CHAR WAS PAINTING FACES?! Well, then. After tending to her tea fix, preparing herself a bit of the Gryffindor blend for starters, she mosey'd on over to where Alice Lupin, a house elf, and others were getting painted up. "I require paints, tooooo."Hi, friend, hi.

"You DEFINITELY do!" Charlotte agreed with a giggle. And if anyone could rock face paint it was Liv Phillips.

"Hello Miss Richards," Art greeted their Prefect happily. He was in a very good mood, which wasn't uncommon for the man. But he was in his ELEMENT, in the Gryffindor common room, with all of the Lions.
"Good evening Miss Summers," Art greeted the fourth year. He nodded at her question "Oh yes, yes I'm very excited," his face broke into a warm smile. "And how about you? Did you enjoy your summer?"
Art nodded at Miss Kettleburn. He'd have to get a photo of it somehow to send home. He was sure his kids would get a good laugh out of their old dad's face painted as a lion. He waited in line ready for his turn, and when it was his, he sat on the chair and took off his glasses, so she didn't have to paint on them. He was squinting a little without the visual aids on, but he managed to make out everything going on.
Pops in the common room announced the arrival of some very special guests, in Art's opinion. "Welcome to the party Toodles, and Nimma, oh hello there Quirly," he greeted. There was Toodles who liked to paint, apparently. "Well I'm... I'm sure we can find some paints for you to use," Art said to Toodles. He was a firm believer that those House Elves deserved some fun recreational time, despite what certain others thought. He took a butterbeer from Nimma, saying "Pumpkin juice sounds perfect, thank you Nimma," and having a sip, letting out a satisfied "Mmm..." And Quirly was offering sandwiches, which Art wouldn't say no to, despite being very full. He took one that looked as if it were egg mayo and took a bite. "Thank you Quirly! D-did you all have a n-nice.. a nice summer?" He asked, genuinely curious as to what the Elves were up to during summer. He'd never thought to ask before.
"Well hello there Mr Salander," Art greeted the young man again, with a broad smile. "Ooohhhh yes, yes, lots of tea. I thought I'd practice over the summer for some... some uhh.. s-some house themed teas. I think I like the Gryffindor the best," he said with a laugh. True. The flavours were quite to his liking. His eyebrows lifted in a mixture of surprise and thought at the young man's mention of MIXING the teas. He hadn't thought of it before. "Oh what a good idea," he added. "L-let me know how the mixing goes," he said. He might have to try it one day.
"Oh, very fitting indeed Miss Lupin," Art said with a happy smile. He thought it very nice to wear the colours LOUD and wear them PROUD!
Art turned to see Miss Phillips appearing, dressed in her pyjamas. He laughed with delight. "Oh you look like the most comfortable one here, Miss Phillips," he said, but paused when he saw her slippers. He lowered his voice a notch. "Is... is that... are they... p-poo slippers?" he asked. He'd never seen such things! The things kids wore now days! Excrement slippers! Who'd have thought?
Art couldn't help but crack up at Mr Meriwether, AKA Mr Solo's enthusiasm. This was a PARTY which meant he wasn't on Professor duty, for now. There was no need for inside voices, unless there was a student with a headache, though he was confident his charms at reducing sound travelling up to the dormitories was well cast. "Hello Mr Solo," Art greeted, with Madame Curie squeaking away contentedly. "She says hello too," he added. He chuckled to himself as he overheard the young man's comments on the tea.

Tenacius had another sip, and once again delight lit up his features "Well the rooibos and mint really complement each other, as they always do I think, as well as the raspberry bits too" And he takes another sip ".....coconut and cocoa has always been a winning combination, but now they serve as an interesting undertone to the rooibos-mint. Theres a lot of flavors in this, some might find overwhelming, but I always like my flavors to pack a punch" Nerding out over flavors with the Potions Master. #win

He waved an exuberrant hello to the little ones, Toddles and Nimma and Quirly, even grabbing a sandwhich from the latter. yes the Gryffindor Tower is his home away from home, but now with the presence of the elves, its like his folks was just in the next room over. Truly it felt like he was really at home again.
But yes back to Char. "Heck yeah school spirit!" and he rocked the double horns with his hands as he semi-headbanged-- but not by a lot because Painteress was painting--
