Seventh year.

Somehow she had made it, sort of. Despite knowing precisely what it was she wanted to do after Hogwarts, feelings about certain people sorted, and her Converse shoe already in the door...Paige had boarded the Hogwarts Express with more uncertainty than ever before.

And the worst part about the feeling was that she could not explain why. Being of age was an terrifyingly complicated process and making her quite nostalgic for that electrifying first year excitement.

Which was why she was now making her way to the food trolley. She was in need of some sugar quills and chocolate. She had a bag of crisps in her owl shaped backpack that needed the latter's attention.

After she mourned being back Nat decided it was time to get comfort snacks. Besties needed their snacks and without Alex she had forgotten to buy extra candy stash essentials. Already it was being proven she couldn't handle Hogwarts life without them.

Heading to the trolley Nat was shocked at the little line. Was it her lucky day? She was sure it wasn't but hey wishful thinking could happen. Her mind wondered off to Roman, the music shop, and just all her summer fun.

Oh her turn?

Ordering the cauldron cakes she looked to see what else she wanted.

The trolley wasn't the best part of the train ride, but it was on the list. Katherine Toussaint was on the fence about whether she wanted the same clean living/healthy eating lifestyle at her mother and brother, but the hardest thing to give up... candy.

Sugar quills.

Ice mice.

Chocolate. Frogs.

The only thing standing between her and her food source was an older girl standing on line ahead of her. What was her name? Probably Katy already ought to know that... "Are you in line? 'Cause there are people waiting behind you." Just saying.

Paige had been so caught up in her own thoughts she hadn't been minding the time...nor her spot in the queue...nor the fact that it had been her turn for however long now and had an expectant trolley lady looking at her along with the assertive voice of a younger student behind her...and she still hadn't selected her chocolate of choice.

Pull it together Paige Skeeter. Good Merlin.

"Oh, sorry," she squeaked, bright blue eyes turning towards the blonde as she stepped to the side. "If you know what you want go ahead of me. I'm still debating on which chocolate to purchase."

"It depends on how much money you have," Katy was an authority on chocolate, especially since she had to procure most of hers on the sly. Carob didn't count. She shoved up to the trolley and poked her finger along the selections there. Enough money would buy you everything, and everything was the only kind of purchase to make.

"What are you trying to decide between? I sort of think maybe you should just get everything. That's what I do when I can't decide." To show what she meant, Katy got a pumpkin pasty AND a chocolate frog AND a cauldron cake. She didn't even LIKE pumpkin.

It often surprised her how much force the voices of younger students could have, a confidence that she herself was still merely scrapping the edges of discovering herself, which oddly put some of her own nervousness to rest. But only some.

"Not...much," she admitted as her fingers poked around in her sunflower shaped coin purse. "Only really budgeted enough for a sugar quill and one chocolate."

So the suggestion of everything was...a bit out of the Hufflepuff's reach.

"A chocolate I wouldn't feel bad about melting," she laughed lightly, nodding her head to the chocolate frog in particular. "Perhaps a chocolate wand..."

Sort of gave off the vibe of back to school shopping as a first year. Sort of.

Although she couldn't help but gape at the selection in the younger girl's hands.

The Teen Lion was all bounce-bouncey on his heels as he stood waiting in line at the Food Trolley. Truly he would come off with some delicious treats for himself on the train ride to Hogwarts. Maybe he could actually start collecting Chocolate Frog Cards, or just keep up hi Tradition of eating Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans! OR OR OR What the Hell else was there to Eat!? There must be a whole Plethora of Snacks the Trolley Lady had accumulated in the time she spent on this Train!?

WHEN WAS HE GOING TO GET HIS CHANCE TO SEE THIS OF COURSE. Two Girls in front of him seemed to be in Deep Discussion over the snacks and their pricing. He was beginning to get rather impatient now. His face scrunched up in disgust as they just didn't seem to want to just buy the snacks.

Gosh Merlin!

Oh Hey wait...That's Paige. He met her...or well got to know her better over Summer during one of Trips to Visit his Dad at Saint Mungo's. The Scrunched Disgusted Face changed quickly to a smile on his face and now they could take however long they wanted to discuss Food and Pricing.

"Melting." Katy's voice went a little flat. Not judgy, necessarily, but she didn't understand the point of that and was processing it. Who would melt candy when it was so much more fun to EAT it?

Katy offered her chocolate frog to the girl. "Why're you melting it, though?" She was fine giving up her candy for scientific reasons. It wasn't real generosity because she had her own motives.

"I never thought about budgeting for treats."

And then the kid behind her was being all OBVIOUSLY impatient. The facial expressions and the bouncing around... not appreciated. And not subtle.

Katy poked her tongue out at him. Not quite a mature move, but that's what seventh years were for, right? "Settle down. The food isn't going anywhere."

There's an extra bounce to Ace's step this term, an extra sparkle in the already bright blue green eyes, and an even sheenier sheen to that already charming smile. Its been a great few weeks and it shows on him.

So of course the first place he goes to is the trolley cart. He's gonna buy the lot of them yo, because CELEBRATION time "I'm gonna need a bag for these..." he kindly informs the trolley witch, as he proceeds to grab sweets and savories by the handful....

Not put off by her reaction, the seventh year was quite used to the curious looks in regards to her eating habits, Paige brushed some of her bangs away from her face and nodded. "Melting. I like to dip crisps in melted chocolate." Comfort food and coping mechanism.

"You're one of the lucky ones then," she smiled, picking up a chocolate wand and checking the price before reaching for a chocolate egg and wondering if she had the heart to melt a metaphorical dragon egg since there was more chocolate to her sickle in that option.

Attention was on the two chocolate products when Torrance happened, but the blonde's scolds caused Paige to look up. "Torrance, hey! Good to see you again," she greeted. A hug would have happened if it had not meant sandwiching the younger student between them. "And she's right, you know. Unless your chocolate frog hops away that is."

Of course Paige would bring up melted chocolate for dipping purposes. He couldn't help but internally laugh as he overheard her mention this to the Girl.

Just as soon as that smile was turned on for Paige was it switched off in disgust over this girls insulting tongue sticking out at him action! He scowled at her and repeated the action back. YEAH TAKE THAT! His tongue was way better at it too. Look he even moved it up and down and made little 'Neeing' noises.

"Yeah Paige is Right. if I got Chocolate Frogs my Food could go places." Like, all over. It would be an adventure tale of a lone Chocolate Frog wandering the Train avoiding the grabby hands of hungry first years, or the stomping feet of Health Freak Seventh Years. Just imagine that...oh dangit his mind wandered again. "it's good to see you too, Paige."

No ride on the Hogwarts Express was complete without snacks. Usually Hads waited until after she'd found her friends and settled in, but today was different. The almost 14 year old still hadn't found them yet.

With Asher now on a leash, hanging out on her shoulder, she made her way up to the cart and smiled when she heard the familiar voice and saw the familiar mop of hair. Ace. She found one of her friends. Now she just need to find Rachel and Mel too. He sounded happier than she'd ever heard him, which was saying something. Oh, Merlin, he didn't get a girlfriend did he? Hads cleared her throat. "Hey! You're holding up the line!" she teased.

Kimi made his way to the food trolley as he was hungry and while he waited in line he thought about what he was going to buy

So it was his turn to get food for the pack, which was the only reason Bentley left the drama free confines of their back compartment. He shuffled up in the line as persons got what they were getting and moved on.

Giving the guy in front of him a little nudge, he motioned for him to shuffle up some more in the line.

Feeling like the line was moving was the only way to keep him from getting grumpy about being out here.

Kimi was brought out of his train of thought and moved forward a bit and looked at the boy who was behind him and thought that he might be a bit grumpy about something but didnt really want to ask him about it

Today was already starting off weird and didn't make Chris feel any better. What was he going to do? Tim was right. Of course she was but....not completely. Sighing he stood at the trolley staring at all the stuff not really seeing what was in front of him. Why were things so complicated? Why couldn't Mia just come out and say what she really wanted? It was sooooooooooooo aggravating. Frowning he reached into his pocket for the money and waited his turn. Why HAD she come to the platform? So many questions and yet if he asked her she would never answer them. He sighed and looked around trying to distract himself.

Azura needed some sugar after the whole scene on the platform with Chris and Mia, she was still shaking a bit from the whole encounter. Not to mention she still was rather pale.. And it felt kinda hard to breathe?

Why had she met him go over there? Why had she told him to go talk to Mia? Her heart twisted a bit as she thought of the answer and knew that the most noble thing to do was to step aside..

She rubbed at the pain in her chest as she headed up to the food trolley, hoping sugar quills and maybe some dark chocolate would her her ails.. She wasn't at all paying attention to who she got in line behind..

Her mind was still at war with itself..

Though as she looked up a small warmth moved into her heart.. A calmness stole over her for a second..

"Hey you.. " She whispered up to Chris.

Chris felt someone walk behind him but didn't pay it any mind. His mind was wandering and kind of going in circles. Hearing a voice behind him though he found himself smiling. He turned toward her and grinned. "I was just going to get you something."

See....this should be easy. She liked him. Unconditionally. She made him happy and feel whole not broken. Yet...bah why was life hard.

That smile..

It could make every single one of her worries just vanish whenever it appeared. And yet.. She knew she could lose it at any second. Maybe it's why she treasured it so much?

Azura returned his grin with one of her own " Oh really? Well I was going to get me something too. " She teased him as she smiled up at him. The panic was still there a bit..

But he was here, and for now that was all the mattered.

Chris laughed and shook his head. "Well obviously...being in line and all." He reached down and took her hand. See. Easy. Relationships should be easy right? "So.....apparently Tim knows what happened between you and Brady," he said looking at her. "So I guess that means Brady told her." Why couldn't people just keep things to themselves? He shook his head and looked at the candy again, "what do you want?"

Azura smiled as she put her hand in Chris's and she looked up at him for a moment, only to tense a little as he spoke about Tim and mentioning what happened with Brady. "Oh did she now? " She could only guess how that came up.

She felt her anxiety come creeping back in as she took a breath.

"Yeah, well Brady hates me, so why wouldn't he tell people? " Her voice had a tinge of bitterness to it. She has been so happy to have her friend back and she had been so excited about it.. And then the kiss had happened and she had kissed him back.. It had taken her by surprise and perhaps a part of her had reacted to the feelings she had had for the Hufflepuff..

Whatever it was..

It had ruined everything and she felt terrible and awful and..

Why was she even at this school? Perhaps.. Hmmmm...

She was shaken from her thoughts as she heard Chris's voice..

"Oh! Watermelon sugar quills. "

If there was one thing that wasn't going to change this term it was going to be this seventh years need for sugar. Lots and lots of sugar. Which could only mean a trip to the trolley was happening. It didn't matter that in her bag she had loads of muggle candy, oh no, she needed even more. Like chocolate frogs and sugar quills.

Hadleigh made her way through the aisle passed every compartment towards the food trolley. Padding along at her side was Sammie, the cruppie she had adopted at the end of the previous term from Professor Draper. She couldn't wait to stop by his office and say hello and let him see Sammie and how much the crup had grown over the summer!

Stepping up behind the other kids that were already there waiting in line Hady silently ran over what it was she wanted to get and how much. She'd be sharing with Frankie and probably whoever was in the Prefect compartment. Brushing her fingers along the edge of the badge on her shirt she let out a soft breath. Lots of changes were already happening and the term hadn't even begun.

"..... Yeah uhh... Looks like I'm gonna need another bag... Yeah put those there...." he conversed with the wizened old witch when he heard a familiar voice behind him with the smarty pants remark. But of course it was the one and only "Dazzling Denaker!" he greeted his Ravvie bestie as he waved at her with the bagful of tasty treasures. Is he holding up the line? "Sorry folks!..." he grinned jovially at everyone that was there "-- here have a freebie on me! You get a chocolate frog..... and you get a chocolate frog..... EVERYONE gets a chocolate frog!!" he laughed as he tossed the confectionary left right and center. And the redhead? He tosses a handful of everything "Catch Denaker!"

Right, at least this guy wasn't a lippy one but Bentley honestly needed him to keep the line going. He was running a tight schedule here..well really he was just trying to keep a low profile and that was mighty hard when one was standing in a queue out in the corridor.

"Your turn to move up again." He pointed out.
