SO you've remembered the password, and you've climbed through the portrait hole...
WELCOME TO THE GRYFFINDOR COMMON ROOM!
The rounded room greets you, with a welcoming warmth from the fireplace, maintained by the House Elves. Opposite to the portrait hole is the fireplace, with more squishy armchairs than you could ever use. There's cushions and blankets draped over the back, with small coffee tables scattered around. To one side of the fireplace is the staircase to the boy's dormitories, and the opposite side hosts the stairs to the girl's dormitories. REMEMBER boys that if you try to sneak into the girl's dorms, the staircase will turn into a slide, barring your entry.
Feel free to use your common room for whatever you wish! You might like to chill out on the couches by the fireplace, or if you're in a more up-beat mood you might fancy a game or two in the games area, where you can be as loud and raucous as you like (thanks to some noise blocking charms). On the opposite hand, if you're in need of a good area to study, there's always the study area which is protected with a silencing charm.

Genny skipped down from her dorm to the common room. It was a bit different than previously when professor Flamsteed manned it, but this was also warm and cozy and friendly. She immediately went to lounge about on the couch, someone's cat was playing nearby so she enjoyed herself looking at said cat. | |

She extracted her legs to avoid them being on his lap basically, then she propped herself up a little. "Hey! I didn't see you there." It was all his fault, she didn't know why but it must be.
"Is that a rememberall?" It glowed red, did he forget something or was he just too Gryffindorish to let it glow something else? Did Rememberalls glow naturally anyway? She should ask Keifer... or someone older. Her uncles must've used them, they were pretty old. | |

See here! If Torrance did Voice his thoughts. There be so many words coming out once Genny wouldn't know where to get mad, or happy, or sad with what he'd be saying.
Tory sat upright and cross his legs as she edged closer to him to get a closer look at his Remembrall. "No, I remembered what I forgot. I Owled home to my Uncle because there was a Text Book I forgot. It's just still red because I can't remember something else now." he raised a brow when she asked if it drived him crazy.
"No, not really. I think I'd freak out if it finally went clear. I wouldn't know what to focus on." If he didn't have this item from the start of his 1st year here, he'd be horribly disorganized without this constant reminder he was forgetting something.
He supposed he could thank Uncle Julien for that at least. Or not, he wasn't going to think about him.

Besides he had this strange feeling he didn't quite explain the purpose to his use of the Remembrall well enough to Genny. Such is his fate when it comes to explaining anything without rambling on about something else at some point. "No, it's like...." How would he put it? "I put something else behind me to help me focus on something else. Like I know I'm missing a Quill somewhere, but my Top priority was the Text Book. So I focused on that" Yeah I think that's the best way to put it. He found it weird looking at the cloudy clear image of his Remembrall as it laid in Genny's hand.
It really was odd seeing it that way.
He leaned in closer to get a look at how glassy it looked when it wasn't red. Then he looked back up at her. "You forget your chores around the House to avoid them?" That was really unfair, Torrance actually did forget to do chores around Uncle Saul's place and he was still get punished for it.
Stupid Trash Day. It always changed on them. It'd be Tuesday for like...a Month, then suddenly it'd be Wednesday and he'd have to remember that!? | |

He looked at his Remembrall once more still not convinced clear was the best color for it. You know, maybe Genny should just give it back to him before she forgot something herself and would need it until she remembered. He missed it's red glow in the palm of his hands. The flowing red cloud that swirled around inside it. It must miss his grasp as well...if Remembralls could miss something of course.
He shrugged. "Most of my chores are way to important for me to purposely forgot. My Aunts and Uncles, and even my cousins need me to step up every now and then." Or so he liked to tell himself. He wasn't really needed much, but he wanted to be. All the Primeaux baby's and toddlers everywhere and he could totally watch them for a Babysitter's pay of course.

Ace and his new baby sibling, now Tory and his living with his uncles and cousins?? "Uhm. I see." She said carefully, wanting to know more but not wanting to pry. "So you all live in one big house?" Where were his parents?? How did one live without any mom or dad??? Oh poor Tory! "It's just the three of us in my home. Me, mom and dad." So. It was quite interesting the image Torrance was describing to Genny right now.
"Yeah, she is. She used to teach here at Hogwarts too. She's tough in here," Genny pointed to her head. "And dad's tough here." She waved her wand with a small giggle. | |

Torry's life was getting less and less understandable the more he told her. Basically he had uncles and aunts all over and he lived with them? Wow. How? Why? She was tempted to invite him to join her family and have it easy like her. "Wow, that sounds fun though. Having to travel around the world and still be around family." The silver lining? "Do you mind if I ask where are your parents?" Hmm? She did ask cautiously, not wanting to upset him over her curiosity. However, it wasn't just curiosity, it was her concern for her friend. She wanted to make sure he lived happily.
"Yes." She was an only child. "I do have a half brother who's really old, though. Thirty or something." Pause. "And I have cousins who are married and have kids my age. So basically I have a big family, but only one sibling who lives far away." Speaking of Giuseppe, she should send him an owl soon. He hadn't heard about her Hogwarts stories since the start of this term.
Genny laughed, swaying a little away from Torry. "I wish! We don't know yet." In her eyes, she had her mom's toughness, and her dad's impatience. As for the good traits? She wasn't sure, up until now she didn't see herself half as good or great as her parents. Or her brother. | |

This place was her favorite place in the whole damn castle. As the fourth year climbed through the portrait hole she felt like she might weep with joy! HER Common Room!! With a giggle (yes the queen of angst giggled from time to time), she rushed forward and flopped onto her favorite chair next to the fireplace.
Heaven.
This was it!!
So, like, where WAS everyone? Had she been gone that long that she had missed the memo on cool new hangout spots? U G H. That would be horrible! Maybe she could send a memo up to Char or just wait until the bounced through??

Having free periods and not being on duty was amazing. Today, the Head Boy had found refuge in his quiet room and decided that a nap was in order. Expecting to sleep for at least an hour, Frankie found himself waking up within twenty minutes. His stomach was growling, and taking care of that was always a priority.
Gliding down the stairs, the blond had no intention of stopping to talk with his fellow lions. He mentally prepared himself to just smile and wave at them all quickly before going through the portrait and into the corridor. The mental preparation wasn't needed, however, as no one was in the common room. Or so he thought until he was closer to the chairs near the fireplace.
Normally under these circumstance, he would have left Dora to herself and snuck by and continued his quest for food. But Dora being around hadn't been a common sight as of late, so Frankie was surprised to see her sitting there. Out of the goodness of his heart, the food could wait a few minutes so he could check up on the fourth year...
"Hey, Dora. Glad to see that you're back."

"Hey, Dora. Glad to see that you're back." Of the people Dora expected to stop and say hey, Head Boy Frankie was not even in the top 10. Hmmm. Not because she disliked him, just that... he didn't strike her as the caring type sometimes. Toward her anyway. But Dora Umbridge did have a TERRIBLE habit of judging people too harshly so there was that. Ha.
Pulling herself from her thoughts, the blonde girl smiled up at the older boy and wiggled her fingers in greeting. " Hey, Frankie. Yeah, I am glad to be back! How have you been?" They could do this! Totally casual conversation with the Head Person. Heh.
Sitting up, Dora pulled her legs up on the chair and watched him closely.

Sir Nicholas was trying not to spend too much time alone anymore. Not since he noticed that other... sensation. Energy? Phenomenon? Or was it simply a change in weather that he hadn't suspected? Either way, something was happening that made Sir Nicholas rather unsettled.
And when the Gryffindor House Ghost felt unsettled, he needed a boost of courage from his lion cubs. Appearing head first up through the floor, Sir Nicholas appeared in the common room. It was a room he was very familiar with, and always felt at home here. He paced in a floating manner up and down, around, upside down through the common room, stuck in his thoughts.
