The door to a mysterious door on the fifth floor swings open to reveal a dank and dusty room which has clearly been vacant for years. White sheets cover the furniture, cobwebs fill every nook, cranny, corner, and everything in between, including a cup filled with wooden potion stirrers. The heavy scent of mildew permeates every aspect of the room. For some reason, all you can do is stand and stare inside.
Though the door swung open easily, a strange barrier once again prohibits the living from entering this room. The barrier was put in place by Marcella Riddle the term after her unfortunate demise and protected the peace and quiet of the ghosts still residing at Hogwarts. The room has on off since laid quietly in the years since the young Hogwarts ghosts reattained their bodies.
For more details on the former residents of this room, please read Hogwarts, A History, chapters term 5 to term 7).

Exploring, yes that was the word for it. . . yeah, lets say that.
Mason had already started spinning her web of lies. The lies as to why she was here, in this strange room. She doubted that any teachers or any of the Goodie-Prefects would wander here, but just in case they happened to find her in this room. . . well. . .
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
She was only looking. That's what Mason had told herself as she pushed the door open. And it wasn't like there was much to look at. She'd taken one step into the room and hadn't just been repelled by the AWFUL old-person smell, but also by some kind of magical-barrier.
The room gave her the creeps, which only intrigued her more. Was there a way into the living room? Who knew. . . maybe if she tried blasting a hole in it, it would work? Hmmm. . .

Kay was a mission to reconnect with all of the rooms and corners of Hogwarts. She had already covered the first and third floors and had now chosen the fifth floor because she vaguely remembered about there being a Spirit room. She needed to brush her memory on the actual happenings but she reasoned that it wouldn't hurt to poke around first.
The door was already opened when she got there so she peered in cautiously. "Is someone th-'' But this action made her promptly to feel a thin, sticky something glue itself to her face. "Eeeek!'' she shrieked as he hand reached to claw at her face as she tried to get the cobwebs off.

Mason reached out to the barrier-thing, her hand barely touching the thing when she heard the squeal, "GAH!" Her hand retracted from the barrier and the other yanked her wand straight from her pocket. What the hell was that?! Was it Peeves? . . . or something else??? O___O
She turned around slowly, wand raised in front of her, ready to blast whatever it was away with. She was ready to fight the thing, however dangerous it might be. She wasn't going down without a fight! But when she was turned fully to said thing, she wasn't met with the giant scaly-face of a Basilisks or that stupid grinning poltergeist, instead it was the rather cob-webbed face of one of the new Professors.
"Professor?" What was her surname again? Stenard? Stowird? Stewart? YES! Stewart! "W-what are you doing here?" Direct the attention away from Mason, sincceeee she probably wasn't allowed in here. . . and she totally wasn't just about to blast the Professor away with Lumos or anything. . . pfftt.

Try as she might to step further into the room, she couldn't. Kay wondered why but she had more pressing issues on her mind. Or one, rather, and that was to get these cobwebs off of her face! The woman jumped at the loud outcry. She lowered her hands from her face to peer more closely at the entrance. Maybe if she had focused better earlier, she would have noticed that Slytherin girl who had been crying at the Staff table during the Feast.
Through the dimly lit corridor, Kay's eyes finally adjusted and she was able to see the girl. "I fancied exploring the Spirit room but these webs got in the way.'' She reached for her wand. With the Scouring Charm, she was able to clean them off of her face. "Are there any in my hair?'' There was no way Kay would walk around looking dirty and scruffy.
