It had been a couple of days since he had used one of the school owls to deliver a message to the Hufflepuff Prefect to meet him in the music therapy room. It had all been his oldest sister, Victoria, idea to not ask her to come right away but keep a few days inbetween the message and the actual meeting. 'Play the mysterious card' she had said. 'Get her to think of the message so she'll be curious and will be thinking about you'he was lucky to have an amazing sister who gave him advices since the first date he had had with Norah because he would have blown it.

Finding a place to talk was difficult though. He didn't want to ask his question in a crowd. That would be uncomfortable and if she did say no, which could be a possibility, he'd forever been known as the Head Boy who got rejected. Yeah...not how he wanted to be remembered as when he left. So he needed to find a place where she would feel comfortable and wasn't too crowded for him and his search ended at the music therapy room in one of the Greenhouses.

He had been looking at this place for some time now and he had come to the conclusion that it would be the perfect spot. Not many students entered this greenhouse and when he did see some walk in it weren't a lot. Yoongi also knew that Norah liked plants. It was one of the things he had observed among a lot more since they had started to hang out. They could take care of a few plants in here first because, as his sister had said 'don't ask right away but don't wait for too long either, find the perfect opportunity'Merlin's beard this was scarier than heights!

So, here he was, dressed in his comfortable yet nicest muggle clothes, his hair styled differently as he had dyed it black this time and he had spend even more time than usual to make sure he smelled fresh. He checked his watch as he waited in front of the greenhouse door.

Even if she hadn't gotten Yoongi's message, there was a good chance the Hufflepuff prefect would've been in here ANYWAYS on account of it being the very best place in the whole entire school. Okay, maybe she could say that about a lot of places (picking favorites was HARD), but this was definitely up there. PLANTS and MUSIC and SUNLIGHT all at the SAME EXACT TIME? What could be BETTER? Even though she didn't know how to play any instruments (unless her tummy counted, 'cause it really did make a very nice drum set), the entire idea was just the very best idea. 10/10. She approved. Yoongi being here could only make it better, right? She approved of that too. For sure.

Norah waved enthusiastically and quickened her pace when she saw him standing in front of the greenhouse. Time to HEAL SOME PLANTS, RIGHT? And look at his hair, which was very nice. As usual. When she reached him, she squished him into a big hug before stepping back and informing him, "You smell nice." That was also a fact. She'd taken a shower and brushed her hair and everything, but all of a sudden she was worried that it wasn't enough. Really, she looked the same as always. Even hair brushing wasn't enough to keep her hair from being disastrously curly and all over the place, which was really false advertising. Stupid hairbrush. What'd she ever do to it? Aside from that time she'd hidden it in the garden, but that had been years ago and she didn't like to talk about it. Oh well. It was too late now, right? The only thing to to was concentrate on Yoongi and THE PLANTS. "You ready?" She was SO READY.

A smile appeared on his face when he saw Norah waving at him in the distance and the sight of her caused him to have a mixtured feeling of calmed and nerves. But before he could question himself he was pulled in to a big hug. Being used to her hugs by now, Yoongi returned the squish and then laughed at her comment as they let go.

She looked, well, like she normally did, Yoongi observed. And her hair looked like she hadn't brushed it since she had woken up, which, he suspected , she hadn't. It was funny that he had started to like her. You'd think that as he spend more time checking his own reflection to see if his hair was alright or if he needed a new moisturizing cream, that he would fall for a girl like him. But no. Norah had this charm around her that was just comfortable and pleasant. And when that was the case, who cared about appearance right? "You look nice, as always" he commented back with a smile before he stepped aside and held the door to the greenhouse open to let her in first. "I have no idea how to take care of these plants though" he admitted. He only knew they needed water...

Norah beamed and ducked through the open door with a small nod of her head, y'know 'cause her mouth was far too busy smiling to be bothered with saying thank you. The sentiment was there though. For sure. It was just that if she opened her mouth something silly would most definitely come out, and she couldn't afford that considering how pink her face had probably already went on account of the compliment. Did ya hear THAT? She looked NICE. "As always," which was especially strange considering that she couldn't remember ever being told that in her whole entire life, and even if she had, this time was extra important because it was Yoongi talking and not somebody else.

Good thing you're with me, then," she said as she scraped her curls up into a bun on top of her head. Hair was nothing but a nuisance wasn't it always when it came to plant healing. It was hard not to worry about Yoongi's if he really wanted to help with the cutiepie plants. Not everybody could get their hair to get so lovely, after all. "I'm an expert." There wasn't a very long list of things she was willing to brag about, but this was something special. Norah approached a wilting plant and took a drooping leaf between her thumb and forefinger. "Poor little guys..." It was awfully tragic, if you thought about it. Not that her countenance showed it, considering she was having a very hard time wiping the grin off her face. Apparently that was what happened when Yoongi insisted on existing the way he did, which was distracting in and of itself. Unbelievable. Who gave him the right.

After Norah had entered through the open door, Yoongi followed behind her and let the door fall shut. He didn’t need a thank you from her considering as she was literally beaming at him at the moment. If it had been anyone else he had held the door open for, which was something he would have done anyways, he would have felt annoyed if they hadn’t even said a thanks. What was surprising him though was how pink her face was getting. Why was she blushing? Was it because she was in his presence? He that kind of effect if he had to say so himself heh.

He rolled up his sleeves as Norah was busy tying her curly hair in to a bun and he suddenly wished he hadn’t worn his good clothes. Ah, he’d probably be able to wash out the dirt anyways. The Head Boy rolled his eyes towards the Hufflepuff Prefect but also grinned. “You’re getting cocky now” he said, jokingly punching her arm softly. It was nice to hear these words though. The ‘I’m an expert’ words. He remembered the first time he had met her, which had been during Ancient Runes and he hadn’t seem this confident about her skills at that time. It was nice to see she had changed a bit.

To him though, the wilting plants and flowers did nothing to him. He didn’t exactly like Herbology, he was good at it but he preferred Charms. Spell casting. As he looked around the Greenhouse and all the sick and dying plants, he wished again for having picked a better spot. Dying plants weren’t exactly romantic right? Merlin’s beard, why was it so hard to ask someone out? And he didn’t mean for just a date. Still, he knew she liked taking care of the plants and maybe it wouldn’t be so bad? Taking a deep breath, Yoongi stood next to Norah as she examined a drooping leaf. “Yeah, poor thing” Seriously though, they were just plants but he could play along. He was itching to ask her to be his girlfriend right here and now. But he refrained from it. Not the time as his sisters would have said. “What do they need to get better? Just water?” he asked. This. Was. hard.

Yoongi really didn't sound as sad as he should've been in the face of all those droopy plants, but Norah just smiled at him instead of pointing it out. It was silly to think he'd think the exact same things that she did, after all. Then they'd be the exact same person, and what fun would that be? She did wonder what Yoongi would look like if he was as frustrated with hair brushing as she was, but that was a whole nother story. She was sorry enough for the flowers for the both of them.

She spun to face him with a big grin, going up on her tippy toes for maximum effect. "You've gotta loooooooooove them." DUH. "Flowers are like people. Or something like that. Everybody wants to be loved, right?" She squinted at him for a moment before continuing, "Plants aren't an exception, 'cept you can't really give a flower a hug. Well, you could, but it'd probably be a bit too much of a squish for them. Y'never know who's gonna be fragile." He could SING for them if he knew how (she certainly didn't) or play an instrument (she couldn't do that either) or dance (that was just asking for a disaster. Or water. Water was good too. "So. It's not just water. It's water and lots of big smiles and some nice talking, if you know how to do that." He seemed like he would. "And if their leaves are awfully dead looking you can trim 'em, too." What a TIME to be ALIVE. PLANT TRIMMING!

Yoongi watched Norah as she spun around to face him. That big grin on her face showed how much she loved plants and flowers. His own stomach did a little flip with joy at the sight of her smile. And her comment about loving them didn’t help either. She did have a point though. Everybody wants to be loved even the ones that don’t admit it. Comparing humans with flowers was a bit odd though but he said nothing about it. Actually, he hadn’t spoken much in fear he would say something stupid and blow the whole thing.

“Oh I’m excellent at talking” it was his turn to grin now. Though talking to flowers was a bit beyond him. He turned his head to look at one of the plants but kept quiet again. How did one even talk to plants? Seriously? He would only do it if she did because he somehow got the feeling she was joking with him. “Professor Myer plays music for them, so I guess music counts as well” he said and immediately regretted saying that because no one wanted to talk about professors. Unless Norah was in for saying bad things about Jerkface Draper? Hhhhmm? Probably not.

“Like these ones” he noted, nodding towards a plant whose leaves looked pretty dead. It definitely need a trim. He waved his wand and non-verbally let two pruning shears fly their way. They could use the charm but he was sure that Norah would like to take care of the plants with her own hands. He took both of the tools and handed one to Norah. He began to cut of the dead leaves of one of the plants, trying to remember how they had done that during class but his mind was somewhere else.

His mind was fighting. Ask her now, or ask her later. He knew that if he waited too long she would probably get bored right? Perhaps this was the moment? Or wasn’t it? Merlin’s Beard this is worse than exams! “N-NORAH!” Oh gosh he hadn’t meant to shout…and he had accidentally cut a good plant. He quickly shifted his body to shield it from the Hufflepuff’s eyes. “I actually want to ask you something” his gaze went from the plants to her and he took a deep breath. “I lied…”

There wasn't very much to say to that because Yoongi WAS excellent at talking. Norah was an expert, okay, she paid a lot of attention whenever he did. "I bet music counts a whole lot, but I'm not very good at that." Unless using her tummy as a drum counted, because even though it'd been a while she was sure she was still capable of that, at least. Not that anybody needed to witness it.

She beamed at him and accepted the pruning shears. "EXACTLY like that one. Thanks, Yoongi." Would it be too much to hug him again? It would be too much to hug him again. But she WANTED to. Pruning shears were important, hug-worthy business. For sure. Everybody knew they were much more fun than the spell. Using 789% of her effort to keep herself from giving too many hugs that nobody asked for, she turned to the plant next to Yoongi's and trimmed off a leaf, looked back at the Gryffindor, then trimmed another. "There ya go, little guy." Two more leaves were trimmed before she shot another glance at Yoongi, but just as she turned back to her plant he provided the perfect opportunity to look back all over again on account of his YELLING that made her drop her pruning shears and let her eyebrows shoot all the way up to outer space.

"Are you okay are you dying do you need CPR DO YOU NEED A HUG?" Norah squinted at him. He looked perfectly fine. Better than fine, actually, but that was irrelevant. The plant he was trying to hide did NOT look perfectly fine, but before she could address that particular tragedy she was being distracted once more. "You lied? About what?" Must've been when he said she looked nice as always. That just shouted dishonesty. Nobody ever said THAT.

“I can’t play any instrument either” he admitted. At least they had something in common now. But you know what they say right? Opposite attracts. “We had a piano had home and I got a couple of lessons before my tutor gave up on me” he sighed loudly but grinned. “Apparently I have no feeling for rhythm” he laughed. Yes, he had flaws. Not many if he said so himself. He was perfect!

He stopped taking care of the plants himself and simply watched Norah as she took care of them. She really loved these plants didn’t she? With the way she talked to them and took care. It was just adorable and he liked this caring side of hers. Resisting the urge to give her a back hug, because that would be too awkward he turned back to his own plants.

He hadn’t meant to shout of course. But his nerves got the best of him the more he waited. What were his sisters talking about ? telling him to wait till the perfect moment to ask her out? He didn’t even know when that was and the longer it took the more nervous he got. He heard the pruning shears fall down on the ground and the Gryffindor immediately stooped down to pick it up.

CPR?! “Uuuh…” he stared at her. Was it bad that he wanted to say that he DID wanted CPR? That was basically kissing…. But again he shook his head. “Ah, no…I just…” he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly . Wait, what? Lied? Noooooo! He hadn’t meant to say that! He didn’t even know why he said that! “Well, I didn’t really lie. Or maybe I did? I don’t know?” This was not how he had pictured how this would go.

In his mind. He had pictured him cool and confident. Asking her his question at the perfect timing and keeping it romantic. Apparently, he had a lot to learn… He took a deep breath to calm himself. “I lied about meeting you here to take care of the plants because i actually wanted to talk to you about something else” he said and was glad that his voice sounded a lot calmer this time. But that didn’t last long. “NOT that I didn’t want to do that! I mean, its fun hanging out with you and I’ve always wanted to cut off dead plants with you!” ………..What the, yoongi? He was talking at top speed, more like rambling and once he begun he couldn’t stop. “You’re funny and smart and not to mention pretty and so caring.... I could say hundreds of reasons why I think you’re incredible but that would take me forever and I like talking, you know that, but not for that long” He laughed nervously. Chill Yoongi, chiiiiill!

“I’m sorry for rambling, I’m nervous. I just never asked someone if she wanted to be my girlfriend before and…….” O________________O THAT WAS NOT HOW HE WANTED TO ASK THAT!

His shoulders slumped and he cringed at his own stupidity. He had practiced the situation in front of the mirror but real life was so much harder. Could he obliviate her and try again?

He didn't know. Okay. That was okay. She didn't know a lot of things, it was only fair that he got to not know stuff sometimes too. Norah was awfully curious, though, so she kept quiet and just watched him as he tried to get the words out. Or the right words--other words seemed to be spilling out much more than he'd like, considering all the pausing for deep breaths. She'd never seen Yoongi like that before. If she didn't feel so bad for his embarrassment, it'd even be cute.

It was too bad about the plant thing, because plants seemed like a great way to spend time to Norah, but she'd let him finish before commenting on that one. There was much more to it than cutting off dead stuff, after all. He needed to be informed. That was important business. Her smile grew wider and wider as he rambled on. He was saying a lot of nonsense but it was nice to hear all the same. Funny and smart and pretty and caring! Imagine that. Absolutely ridiculous, but here they were. The Hufflepuff set down her pruning shears and watched him. He was NERVOUS. How special was tha---he WHAT?

She wasn't entirely sure what she had been expecting, but it certainly hadn't been that. Now that she thought about it, it made all the things he'd said make a lot of sense to the point that she felt a little bit stupid for not having realized earlier. The feeling of stupidity was trumped by the joy and the nerves and the surprise and the excitement, though, so it wasn't too bad. Actually it was kind of wonderful. Norah opened her mouth, then closed it again. What was she supposed to say? Did she wait for him to actually ASK or did she say yes anyways? She'd never done this before either, how was she supposed to KNOW? "Oh man." Very nice response, Norah. Lovely. His shoulders had gotten awfully slumpy. She'd gotten awfully bouncy and shiny-faced and beamy. Something had to be done. "I've never said yes to somebody wanting to be my boyfriend before but I think that's what I'm doing now probably if that was the question. Right?" SMOOOOOOTH. It was his fault for being unclear, okay. Not that she blamed him, considering he'd done a much better job than she would have.

Deciding it was long overdue, she threw both arms around slumpy Yoongi and gave him a good, long squish. Unslumpification. Very vital. What happened next? Being somebody's girlfriend was not something she'd learned how to do in class. Even if she had she probably wouldn't have been very good at it unless Professor myers had taught it, 'cause he was the very best ever. "That was very romantic. You should be a professional." Norah beamed at him once more, elevated to her tip toes, and kissed his cheek. There. That wasn't awful, right?

Oh man…..

This was a disaster. A mistake. He had not meant to ask her to be his girlfriend like this. It was supposed to be romantic and cool and everything but this! Yoongi wished he could vanish right now because the embarrassment was too real.

Wait, he COULD make himself invisible. Just a flick of his wand and the disillusionment charm would do the trick. He was seriously thinking about it as the room got hotter and hotter. Not that it was hot in the Greenhouse but because his face had turned a bright red color in embarrassment. He was really glad they were in here alone because what if anyone saw?! He’d diiiieee!

“I…..yes. It…it was…” there was no way around it anymore unless he wiped out her memory and start over. But he couldn’t do that, what if he accidentally did the spell so good that she didn’t even know her own name? “Can i….be your boyfriend?” He just HAD to make sure he understood it right!

He got his answer as he felt her wrapping his arms around him and the Gryffindor Head Boy who was always bragging about his confidence turned red yet again when she kissed him on the cheek. He touched the place she had kissed and stared in to space. Her words brought him back to earth though as she mentioned he could be a professional. He playfully poked her arm at that. “No it wasn’t” he laughed. "I'll be much cooler from now on"

“I …there’s something else…wait…” He turned around and grabbed his wand. With his back turned to her to block her view he non-verbally began to work. He had been practising making these things ever since valentine’s day and he had wanted to give her one that day but had decided against. Now was the perfect timing to give her something nice and he could show off his skill. Win win.

He turned back around when it was ready and positively beamed. “Here, for you…” he said and handed her the flower crown. Well then, since that was over , completely the wrong timing and all but it was over now he felt relieved. She had accepted. They were official. Merlin's Beard he never had a girlfriend before! What did couples even do???

"Uhm... shall we get back to taking care of the plants?" he asked.
