This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
OOC: This duel must be completed by the 24th of February by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.

If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

Cool cool! It was Tory's first Duel ever! he was overly giddy about it all. He wanted to show off, impress, and just look outright look awesome. He had done his hair back in dreadlocks once more before the duel was to start so that flowpy flooshy afro wouldn't distract him up top. Who was his opponent now? A Ravenclaw girl. She wasn't Kate Moss, but maybe she'd be like her? Should he throw a snide remark at her to be sure?
Probably not, what if Uncle Julien was watching the Duel!?! He turned his head quickly at the stands to see if anyways was watching their duel aside for one of the Professor Judge People. "Best of Luck." He eventually spoke up to Olivia. He bowed to her. "You Ready!? Cuss I am." Torrance took a step back, and slide his wand out of his wrist holster into his hand and pointed it forward at Olivia. "Locomotor Mortis!" He shouted as he sent the spell straight at her. Nice start to the Duel, Spades! Maybe you can Wildcard something into it later!? Throw her off her game?

Her first real duel.
Olivia had taken her father’s advice and studied up on a few spells that could be useful. Sure they had learned a variety in DADA lessons, but some had more usefulness than others. Plus she didn’t want to worry about her wand acting up. It already caused enough pain when learning new ones. By the time it was scheduled, the Ravenclaw hoped she was ready as she didn’t want to seem like a complete beginner. Nor seen as a girly girl. They were supposed to be using this as a learning tool after all and take it at least a little seriously. Her hair in plaits and pinned up and the required uniform on her small form.
“You too…” she sent back in response to the wish of luck before echoing the boy’s bow. Olivia simply nodded at his question as she took out her wand, trying to prepare herself for what would be the first shot. The spell her opponent, Torrance, would be the one to cast. As in practice, her first instinct was to use her quick movements from her size to her advantage, the first year dodging the curse. A click or two later, she was aiming with her own spell, choosing the one that had caught her attention and reminded her of her aunt.
“Tarantallegra!” she cast with as much focus as she could, her wand giving the required movement as she sent it towards the Gryffindor boy.

Mental angry finger snapping! She just dodged his first spell!! He won't let her next time. She was small like he was, so she could easily flip, roll, jump and run around the arena with ease. How could he impede her movements? Whoa!!! Whoops! Torrance quickly ducked his head down and away from an incoming spell. He can't get lost in thought up here! Just go with the flow of the duel, don't think to hard on it! Still crouching down from avoiding her spell. Tory shouted "Carpe Retractum!" Ropes shot out of his wand and went right for her. He snagged the end of the rope as it came out and tugged it back hoping to Merlin's long flowing white beard there would be a Ravenclaw at the other end.

The dancing spell had been sooooo close. But the boy had managed to duck out of the way of it just in time. Bad luck for her. Would have been nice to see AND have her first spell be a successful hit. Oh well, at least it had been successful, her wand behaving with what she was casting. Olivia couldn’t let her thoughts linger on that for too long for her opponent was quick to cast another spell in her direction. How dare he? She was no flying seahorse to be caught and pulled towards him!
“Protego!” she cast quickly, her eyes widening as the spell wasn’t just caught but rebounded towards the boy who had cast it originally. The Ravenclaw hadn’t thought she had put THAT much effort into it but apparently she had. Or her mixed up magic was working FOR her this time. As she recovered from her surprise, Olivia nearly forgot to send her own spell back eventually casting “Aguamenti!” at Torrance as the first thing that came to mind.

The speed at which Torrance attempted to pull back the rope hoping Olivia would be at the other end plus the rebound it had off her shield charm surprised Tory to say the least. The rope brushes past his arm and went flying behind him. That could have ended in some serious rope burn. "Protego!" the young lion yelped out quickly next as his opponent then shot a stream of water directly at him! His shield came up, though it was small, and the water hit him on the face. He shook his head fast to clear his vision.
Furious at himself for not producing a good shield, Torrance turned his wand on himself. Placing the Feather Light Charm on himself. Now as light as a feather, his next movement came quicker and he shot a Cornflake Skin Spell at her.

It was clear she hadn’t been the only one surprised by the rebounding spell, the Gryffindor boy appearing to have only narrowly missed pulling the ropes back around himself with the force of both their spells. Olivia might have liked to see that, as long as her fellow first year wasn’t too injured in the process, as it wasn’t like she wanted him hurt. But alas he escaped again, until her random water spray hit him in the face instead causing her to chuckle before she caught herself.
Still 0 for 1 it seemed was the standing in this duel.
Though it wasn’t over yet. Not by a long shot. Torrance took aim once more with a spell she was unfamiliar with and while she raised her wand to cast a shield once more, the spell hit before she could. All of a sudden her face and arms felt all weird and itchy. Olivia reached a hand up to rub a cheek and found out just what that spell did.
Eck!
Scratch.
Forcing herself to give up on the itch for now, the Ravenclaw did her best to focus on retaliating. She wasn’t about to give up because of one little spell that had gotten her. Olivia wasn’t disarmed so she wasn’t out. The first year decided to try to continue her luck with ropes. “Incarcerous!” she cast with determination, sending ropes in the direction of the Gryffindor boy once more.

Float like a Butterfly sting like a Bee! Float like a Butterfly sting like a bee. The Feather light charm made Tory feel like he could probably Fly. which was great since he'd love to do that!! he was ecstatic that his spell hit it's mark and he may have bounced a little in joy from that. He was hopefully this would hinder her enough to give him an edge in this duel.
and yet
Olivia was tossing more rope at him this time! Though it was of her own creation now. Not as confident in his shield charm as he was at the start of the duel for it's lack of substance, Torrance dove forward. His dive, thanks to the Feather Light charm from before gave him some extra distance. As he skid to a stop he wound up almost at the feet of his opponent! The First Year jerked his wand up and shouted "Expelliarmus!" directly at Olivia.

This duel was starting to look more and more like something out of an action movie and Hirsch LOVED it. Spells flying everywhere, shields being cast and look, even a skid towards the opponent which was quickly followed by a shot at the opponent as well! Merlin, it couldn't get any better, could it?
Sadly, the time limit called for a stop, much to the displeasure of the Defence Professor. When it was time, he put up a magical shield between the two before making his way over towards them. Any last traces of the previous spells were gone, meaning that Miss Stone can have her old skin back. "Well done, you two! That was an excellent duel!" Could they tell with the way he was smiling?
"With that being said, Mr Spades, congrats on snagging that win. And well done, Miss Stone, on putting up a good fight. Keep it up, you two."
