Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

A referee (either Professor Airey or Professor Hirsch) will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
OOC: This duel must be completed by the 24th of February by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.

If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.

She had been waiting for this! Her very first tournament! But then when she realized that her opponent was Charlotte Kettleburn... Well, this is interesting. She was her friend and again, like last term, her first opponent was her friend.
Dressing up with her dueling gear, Ava entered the tournament area. "No hard feelings okay, Char?" She said to her. Like it was written on the rules, she started the duel with bowing to her opponent. "Maybe after this duel, we can go getting muffins?" She asked her.
Ready? Set? And Go!
"Colloshoo!" She start the first duel by sending a stickfast hex to her opponent. Then and stealing her trick from the last term, Ava cast the featherlight charm to herself. HEHEHE.
This is really the match that showed who's the best among them.

The little blonde had held back a sneeze as she bowed, her red nose a testament to how often that had been happening lately. Being sick at school was SO DUMB! Like you'd think it would be AWESOME to miss classes and stuff but it just meant that you got to be miserable in the infirmary and you couldn't go to dueling meetings and your friends couldn't even see you because you'd get THEM sick. So what if she'd slipped out to duel? The healer totally wouldn't miss her right?
She sneezed again and held her wand at the ready.... and cast:
"Protego!" Putting her might into it and casting the shield to reflect the colloshoo back to Ava. Yeah Ava! You had to do better than THAT!
.... like THAT? Hey!
See that was PROOF that Char was better: even AVA was stealing her moves!
Even as Ava cast on herself, Charlotte was casting on her TOO, so that the other Gryffindor would have very little time to react. She cast the hot-air charm at her, a blast of soupy, thick heated air, not enough to burn of course, but definitely enough to cause a problem.

Dang It! Char successfully deflected her stickfast hex. The young lioness quickly rolled over to the other side avoiding the hex. Good to know that She still has her reflex, thanks to the Karate lesson that she had have since she was younger. This wasn't only her opponent's attack, she knew that. So quickly Ava cast shield charm and deflecting it back to her.
For a moment, she forgot that the person who was standing in front of her was her friend... Or maybe they were friends? She didn't know.
She remembered what Zeke had said about making the opponent couldn't see, hear, move, or speak. Sadly that she couldn't cast the silencing charm yet since it's the most effective way. Alright, quick think Burton! Okay... First, she cast Ears to Kumquats hex so her opponent couldn't hear the spell that she would gonna use. And then... "Expelliarmus!" She aimed the disarming charm to her opponent's wand.

The best thing about being Charlotte Kettleburn was that your cousins were kind of awesome, and kind of taught you a thing or two, so she wasn't worried about facing down this onslaught, deciding that Ava would probably tire herself out and that would be just fine by Char, especially because the way Ava was shooting off spells so quickly meant they were kinda puny spells, Char thought, or at least not fast enough to give her any problem.
She sneezed, turning her face slightly and bringing her wand up, taking a deep breath of cool air before the deflected hot air spell enveloped her. Blech. Claggy. As soon as it was past Char was already defending for the next one. Because obviously right?!
"Protego!" She hollered, and deflected the second spell back with a little tennis player-esque grunt, swiping her wand the other way to bring it back to bear to cast again in defense of the third spell. "Protego!"
She wasn't going to try and shoot off another offensive spell just yet, just defend and counter until she had a better read on what Ava was going to do next.

Wow, she needed to chill out because she had just shoot too many spells. Ava tried not to smirk when the hot-air charm successfully was deflected to her opponent. But again, Charlotte deflected back the ears to kumquats hex. "Whoops.." She ducked to avoid the charm. Aaaaaah, thankfully. But the young lioness didn't realize that her opponent also deflected the disarming charm, so it hit her.
Ah, shoot.
Quickly she grabbed her wand and thought for a while. Maybe sending too many spells in one attack wasn't that good too like just now, one of them were successfully hit her back. Karma, huh? Let's try the stickfast hex again. "Colloshoo!!!"

While Ava was still going for her wand, and then apparently standing there thinking, Char threw a stinging hex (well, she had got stupefy banned, obviously she needed a new go to attacking spell right?) her friend's way.
And because she DID have her strategies even if Ava totally stole them (hehe) Charlotte cast the Feather-light charm on herself.
No time for too much thinking! Just had to act! And try not to sneeze! She sneezed anyway, and getting more and more excited about the duel, bounced from foot to foot.
ANOTHER stickfast hex? Was that Ava's best spell? She seemed pretty fond of it and good at it. Char once again countered by deflecting back, her shielding much improved since the last time she'd been dueling at school. Angelo Toussaint, her cousin, had been right about its importance. "Protego!"

So Char was sending her stinging hex behind her back? That's not fair! Wait, that could be fair. There's no rules that they couldn't attack the opponent while they were distracted, unlike karate or other martial arts duel. That wasn't a really bad sting thankfully, Ava had been stung by a bee before when she was seven and that was WORSE.
Alright, time to get back to the duel! When her opponent deflected her stickfast hex to her, the young lioness reflectively cast the shield charm. But too bad that it wasn't powerful enough to attack her back. Great! So maybe she wouldn't attack her feet or hearing anymore. How about tickling charm? "Rictusempra." She whispered as she cast the spell. Hopefully it would works.

Eeek! Was Ava okay? That sting hadn't hurt too much right? Definitely was a good spell to use though! Char had apparently found her newest attacking spell! Though she would have to try others out and practice them like crazy of course. But this wasn't the time to overthink! She bounced from foot to foot, getting more and more amped up and beginning to dance around a bit, keeping herself moving despite the occasional sneezes that still managed to slip out (and to think, she hadn't even been hit with a sneezing hex! Did those even still work if you were sneezing already?).
Char was DETERMINED to prove herself in this duel and... wait what was that? Ava had cast SOMETHING but Char didn't hear what it was. She didn't NEED to hear it in order to block it though and since her countering was working just fine as a strategy and giving her a chance to keep her friend and housemate on her toes, Charlotte defended again, wand coming up as she cried out, "Protego!" YEAH KEEP THEM COMING, AVA! The flash of whatever-that-spell-was rebounded back with a sound like a rubber ball bouncing off a window, and the little blonde, still bouncing from foot to foot, sliced her wand back again determinedly, yelling the incantation for the jelly-fingers curse and sending it towards Ava's wand hand.
Phew! Hopefully Char wouldn't exhaust herself before she could PROVE HERSELF. RAAAAH! She was certainly giving it all she had!

The stinging sensation was still there, but not that really bad anymore. She could keep focusing on this duel. Come on! And for now, Ava could read Char's strategy: She kept deflecting back her attack. So now all she had to do was sending her more attack until she was exhausted. HA! As long as she could defend it by shield charm or avoiding it physically, she wouldn't mind doing that. She was really good in reflexes moves, thanks for being in a karate club since she was five years old.
"Protego!" Quickly she cast the shield charm against the curse that her opponent, deflecting it back. And for the second attack, the young lioness rolled over so she wouldn't be hit by a spell that she was actually gonna send to Char. Right, now she send her Curse of the Bogies though... it would gonna make her sick getting worse. Oops....

Ava was preeeeetty good, Charlotte admitted in the quietest tiniest part of her mind, but that didn't deter the little blonde in the slightest.
Charlotte dodged out of the way of the reflected spell and she quickly followed that maneuver up with a conjuring of ropes, "Incarcerous!" The ropes flashed out from her wand straight at Ava... only while Char had been fast at countering, she was a little more sluggish than normal and hadn't got out of the way... she was hit by ...CURSE OF THE BOGIES!
She sneezed on impact but otherwise felt pretty much as gross and drippy as she already did, so at least it didn't effect her concentration any further than the ickfest germs already had going on inside her. There was a singlemindedness that she had right now, a fixation, and it was enough to focus on that at the expense of everything else.
....Was it hot in here though?

Ava had never underestimated her opponent, including Charlotte. Come on, she came from an aristocrat family and a dozen of relatives that would be teaching her about stuffs, including dueling. While herself was mostly self-taught and learned from some upperclassmen, including Adi. Gosh, now she wished that the former Hufflepuff boy was here watching her dueling.
So the curse of the bogies worked properly, but kudos to Char that she still managed to cast some spells in her sick condition. Quickly she avoided the attack by rolling over to the other side. Should she send more? Yes. She sent slug-vomiting charm "Slugulus Eructo"... Well, let's see if this would work... Hopefully yes.

Charlotte dodged out of the way with enough force and determination that snot from her drippy nose sprayed out in an arc in her wake. That was DEFINITELY the fault of that bogies curse, and it was gross, but Char didn't care.
She shot another stinging hex at her friend as she side-stepped, and then darted the other way and followed it up by loudly hollering the incantation for the hot-air charm before sneezing again.

Well....... this was turning into a nasty fight, wasn't it?
Roderik was in the background, watching the duel intently as spell after spell was fired and dodge after dodge was made. It was impressive, actually, considering the ages of the two duelists present. And he was a little..... scared? Was that the right word? Because if they were fighting like this now, Merlin only know what they would be like with a bit more years of training under their belt.
When it was time, the man cast a magical shield between the two Gryffindors. Miss Kettleburn's Stinging Hex and Hot Air Charm dissipated, which was then followed up by a look from the Professor that suggested that the girl had been way too loud. Merlin, please let him keep his eardrums by the end of the school year, okay? He kind of needed them.
"Excellent dueling, Miss Burton, Miss Kettleburn," he said, stepping out of the shadows and making his way towards the two Gryffindors, "I have to say, that was some pretty impressive spellwork between the two of you." And with that, he used a Finite Incantatem to get rid of any spells that were lingering around. Which hopefully meant no more bogies being sprayed around, yes?
"With all of that said, I can announce that the winner is......." Slight dramatic pause. "....... Miss Kettleburn and her flying boogers. Congratulations! And very well done, Miss Burton."
