CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!

Zander wasn't too sure how he felt about this whole big christmas sleepover thing, but he was such a big fan of the holiday that he didn't even mind it. As long as Christmas was still happening, Zander Adair was on board. And that is definitely why he was here dressed in Christmas jumper, pajama bottoms, woolen socks, and a santa beard to finish it all off.

Jolly as he could ever be, by the way. And also holding onto Sophie's hand with a little too much excitement. Christmas made him feel like a first year all over again. Ahem. And normally, Sophie Brown was the one doing the tugging, but tonight Zander was the one pulling her over towards the trees. "Soph, we have GOT to decorate one!" It was like a tradition, decorating the tree. And this year he thought he may miss out since he was staying at Hogwarts the entire holiday. So when he found out they'd have trees to decorate, Zander BASICALLY JUMPED FOR JOY OKAY.

"I'll even help you get on my shoulders so you can add the star on the tippy top!!! What do ya say???" PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAASEEEEEE???

Pretty please with a cherry on top? Or uh, a golden star on top?

This may have been Sophie Brown's seventh year at Hogwarts, but she had never ONCE stayed at Hogwarts for the holidays. Never, ever. But... that meant the time was now, because she would never get the opportunity ever again. Plus, Zander wanted to stay, so... that made it an easy decision. Well... an easier decision.

Thoughts of a Christmas eve spent with the Fuller-Thompson family lingered in the back of her mind, but... there was also this feeling that they needed a Christmas without her. They needed to work on themselves, as a family, and she didn't want to detract from that this time around. Things had changed, and... she would make it up to them later, surely. But no, she needed this time here at Hogwarts, with Zander and her Hogwarts family. Her mum would forgive her, too. She knew what this meant to her.

Decked in comfy holiday-themed attire, Sophie allowed Zander to tug her along, a big ol' smile never leaving her face. She shared in the same childlike excitement as him, but she used a lighthearted, teasing sort of tone anyway to reply, "Of course we will, silly. We're gonna do ALL the things. We've got alllll night." They were gonna make the most of their last Christmas at Hogwarts, and no one was gonna stop them.

...He was gonna let her sit on his shoulders? And PUT THE STAR ON TOP? "Y'know the way to my heart, Zander Adair." He was the BEST.

This would be his first christmas at Hogwarts and Yoongi was excited! He wore simple muggle clothes, a big sweater with a reindeer on it and on top of his head he wore reindeer antlers. He wanted to have a big red nose as well but seeing as winter had started and he was already coming down with something nasty, his nose had already been red.

But despite feeling a little bit sick, his holiday spirit could not die~! Cause christmas was all about happiness and PRESENTS! and getting to know each other better and PRESENTS

Anyways, Yoongi had always wanted to decorate a christmas tree. At home he usually let his sisters do the work because they were all of age and he wasn't so he had to sit back and watch. But not this year! He was going to help!

.............These trees were huge! how was he supposed to decorate the top with his fear of heights? The Gryffindor looked around and spotted Zander. He walked towards him then stopped halfway as he suddenly noticed Sophie as well. 'y'know the way to my heart?'

Yeah, he was not going to stand with these two. So he turned back around and chose a different tree to decorate. He just hoped someone would help him with getting the top decorated...

Paul adjusted the santa hat on his head(beCAUSE it kept falling off) and approached the enormous trees with wide eyes. Ah. So marvelous, these were. The smell of them...just...so therapeutic. He was sure there were Christmas-tree scented candles somewhere...and he would find these candles and BUY THEM ALL for his office. It would go well with the woodsy theme and whatnot.

But time for decorating! Paul smiled and grabbed just one single ornament...because he was nervous he'd drop it! And with his free hand under the one carrying the ornament...yeah...he didn't want to break anything. He hung the ornament on one of the many gigantic trees and stepped back, making sure he liked the position of it...

Hmmmmm.

Decorating the tree was always something Hady had done with her mother and father and even Jaxon some years would come over and help. Not this year though. This was the first year she was away from home but it didn't stop her from wanting to help decorate.

Standing off to the side just out of the way she tilted her head back, her elf hat sliding to the side as she did to look up at the trees. They were HUGE! Clearly everyone would be working together to decorate the trees but as for her she wasn't sure just yet who she'd work with. Did anyone need help or should she just get started alone for the time being?

Decorating tree is such a must on Christmas because Christmas without tree = LAME. It's like a bird who can't fly or red velvet cake without cream cheese glaze/buttercream. Ava remembered that she and Teddy used to do this decorating with their father when they were younger. And the last two years of Christmas were the best since Dima went back home and brought his little family, Alana and Keenan. She missed them but she had made a decision to stay here since they threw a nice Christmas event. Besides, most people seemed also stayed here so she's not that lonely.

The young lioness decided to see the tree that they're gonna decorate. Merlin, it was so HUGE!! "Do you think that we're gonna need the entire students and staffs to decorate it?" She asked to the next person. Turning around, she realized that it was the Herbology professor. EEEEEEP!!!! "I mean.... hello, Professor Myers."

Deciding that she wasn’t going to go home for Christmas has been hard - but she figured that she since had found out her Mum was pregnant again, she wouldn’t want to miss Christmas next year… or maybe the years after that and really… She wanted to experience a Hogwarts Christmas at least ONCE in her seven years here as a student.

SO with that in mind, she had thrown herself into the Christmas festivities… and TODAY. Today she was going to help decorate at least one of the trees, they were after all HUGE…. and she was, well she was tiny. Heh.

However, she had caught Adi last night at dinner and asked him to come and help her - he was afterall MUCH MUCH taller… and at least she would get to spend time with one sibling, if she could see little Alis. Right? Right. So, here Marsha was, skipping happily down the last set of stairs away to meet her Happy Hufflepuff Adi!Bro and decorate a TREEEEE.

Adi had been half afraid that Marsha would be going home for Christmas because her mother had another baby on the way but imagine his happiness when she told him she was staying. And then last night she had asked him to help her decorate a tree. Who was he to say no to the adorable little sister? Not him!

Still decked out in his Santa had and beard (he had gotten rid of the mustache because it tickled his lips LOL), he had left the feast table after chattering with his friends to meet Marsha. There she was! "Happy Christmas, Sha! You look extra beautiful today.'' She deserved that complement. Mhmmm. What was Sha and Adi love without a hug? The Gryffindor got a long, squishy one. He just might have lifted her off her feet. Hehe. Afterwards, he grinned down at her. "Ready to get that tree decorated? You can go ahead and choose which you'd want us to work with.''

"Hey, Hady. You want to work on a tree together?" She didn't know the younger girl too well yet, but she liked her so far.

So they were going to do it then!??? YEEEEES.

Zander was so chill. Ahem.

"Well I've had my eyes on it for a while," he gave her the biggest cheesy ol' grin to go along with it too. The holidays were bringing out the jolly in him, okay?

Anywaaaaaays. Trees. There were SO many. Did they have to claim their own? Were the trees assigned? Could they have TWO? So many questions Zander needed answered. But eh, wasn't the christmas spirit all about throwing away the instructions manual? "I think you should pick the tree." But also because there were so many choices and Zander didn't want to pick the wrong one.

Christmas trees were very serious business.

Of course Cosgrach was here with his near Santa outfit (the hat, magically grown beard and robes turned into red with magic), of course he was going to decorate a tree with someone. This was the BEST part of Christmas EVER. Sure, gifts were exciting, but at the age of 46 he didn't get many gifts... so decorating the tree it was.

With... of course, the Head couple who were holding hands.

First things first, he approached them from behind and waved his wand to seperate those hands. "No PDA," he reminded them in a friiiiiiiendly tone. Yeah. They had plenty other places to hold hands. Then, as he'd heard Zander's suggestion, he pointed at a tree and said "I like that one. Let's decorate that." As if the 'you' in that sentence was HIM, and placed his hands on their shoulders to push them slightly apart, enter between them and direct them to the tree HE had picked.

Hazel eyes fixed on a large tree straight ahead of her one might have thought she wasn't paying attention to those around her. Only she was.

Hady might not have fully seen Paulina come up beside her but she knew she was there and replied with a small nod of her head to the older girls question. Sure she'd like someone to work with on decorating a tree. It was always much more fun when lots of people worked together. They might not have been a group but Paulina was a nice start. "Sure. How about this one?" She gestured to the tree in front of them.

"How are you? Are you enjoying the holidays so far?" Did she like being here over Christmas or was she finding it a little hard to not be home like Hady was?

Norah didn't hold herself back from skipping into the Great Hall because it was CHRISTMAS and that meant freedom for all the fun things. Everybody got to act little on Christmas, even people who here totally and completely above such things. Like her. Well, she was half-trying to achieve that, anyways. The other half of the time she ignored the goal completely because it wasn't really a very fun goal anyways. Plus it made her sound like her mum, and who wanted to do that? Not her. That's who. But she wasn't going to think about any of that today because Christmas was the very happiest day, which left no space for missing home. It was the first time she'd decided to stay at Hogwarts for the holidays, but there seemed to be a whole lot of stuff to distract her. All the activities DID seem a lot more exciting than listening to her dad recite A Christmas Carol just like every year, a story that was just as boring now as it probably had been when it was written a million years ago.

Armed with her favorite Christmas sweater that clashed horribly with her leggings that clashed even more horribly with her socks, Norah flounced over to where Professor Culloden, Zander, AND Sophie Brown were standing. Who needed to be home when THIS gang was around, right? Zander and Sophie were practically married by now anyways, so the family atmosphere wasn't even missing. "We should use ALL the tinsel! It'll be the shiniest tree EVER." Hi. Hello. She was helping TOO.

He'd... had his eye on her heart for awhile? PUH-LEASE. "You're such a dork," she quipped playfully, giving him a nudge, and had just begun giving consideration to which tree they should pick to decorate when--

Culloden happened.

No more hand-holding, and no more even STANDING close to Zander. If she was in a properly playful state of mind, she would've tried to act upset and defy Culloden to get back to Zander-- but instead, she burst into laughter.

"You're impossible, y'know that?" But the tree he picked out WAS a good one, so... with a shrug, Soph let Culloden lead them over toward it, just in time to pick up a Norah along the way. The Hufflepuff prefect got a BIG ol' smile, and Soph nodded her firm agreement. "I like the way you think, Norah. Let's DO IT." They'd have the PRETTIEST AND GLITTERIEST TREE OF THEM ALL.

Christmas time, one of the joyful holidays that Justin always looked forward to. Make way, make way. As the door bursted open again with Mr. McLeod dragging in another tree. How nice, a number of students AND colleagues willing to help out? His previously chattering teeth (one of the few places his masterful hat-mask didn't keep warm) broke open as he got into the spirit.

"HO, HO, HO. HAAAPPPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!" Now that his entrance was out of the way, "'Cuse me, ladies and gents. Make way for another treeee." Wasn't it a beaut? The tree of course, as the Santa Impostor Groundskeeper made some motions to bring it up right after shuffling through the few closest standing.

Marsha bounced as she saw Adi, with his Santa hat on… ”Look, we go together!” She said giggling at the reindeer and Santa match. Wrapping her arms around him, she laughed as he picked her up and giggled loudly as they twirled on the spot, wheeeeeeeee. Blushing a little though, she couldn’t help the grin she shot at him as he called her beautiful. ”YOU are biased, bro.” She said, lovingly as she attempted to bump their hips together, but really she just butted his thigh.

”Yes! I want.... to decorateee…” She started as she looked up and down the hall at the empty trees - but just as she went to reply, Mr McLeod came into the Great Hall too. WITH ANOTHER TREE. ”That one! Mr McLeod, can I decorate that tree? It’s so tall! Adi, look how tall it is? Isn’t it beautiful?” She bounced on her toes, taking Adi’s hand before pulling him after the Groundskeeper.

This was their tree. Everyone else could decorate another one. Teeheee.

If there was an award for sulking in a corner, Rooney Bronwyn would win every day of the year. Especially when in a close proximity to the Head Girl and Boy of Hogwarts when they were holding hands. Rooney was more than entirely aware that Miss Sophie Brown had a boyfriend, and that that boyfriend was the Head Boy and it caused an exceptionally large sized knot in his stomach that didn't go away with any and all thinking that he did. Roo was hiding behind his oversized Santa beard, and the pyjamas that his mother had sent him alongside a howler for ditching Christmas with his family.

She was not happy with him.

But he wanted to spend Miss Sophie Brown's first and last Christmas at the castle with her. Maybe a little further away than intended, because he didn't want to chew into his lip more than he did on a normal basis. The present he had for her got shoved under the tree that he was standing behind, her name on the tag beside a big red ribbon. Happy Christmas, Miss Sophie Brown.

But then she was heading this way and Rooney was a lost cause. She had a group with her, alongside a Professor also. He ducked under the tree and crawled toward another close by so that he could run and do something else. Decorating trees really wasn't his thing any longer.

Beatrice almost SKIPPED into the Great Hall. She stood on the spot for a moment with her little cat shoes, and her santa hat on her head, just looking at all of the beautiful trees, and the lovely people just waiting to decorate them. CHRISTMAS was upon them, and it was Beatrice's most FAVOURITE time of the year. Yes, it was.

She had a huge smile on her face, like the happy person she was, on TOP of the Christmas lovin' thing. "Hello Everybody," she said in general, walking around and seeing everyone.

Seeing a familiar little face, Beatrice headed over to Rooney. "Hello dear," she said, a look of concern on her face. "You know, there's a tree over there I'd just LOVE to decorate, but I don't think I can do it all on my own. Would you be able to help me?" And what GORGEOUS attire the young lad was wearing.

Heeeeeeeh. He gave Sophie the biggest, goofiest grin before nudging her right back and—

What. Since when had hand holding been against the rules???? Also, it was Christmas. Where was the man’s SPIRIT? And as if that wasn’t enough… The Professor was joining them? -____-

Great. He had been hoping to spend some quality time with Sophie Brown, HIS GIRLFRIEND, and now he was infiltrated by a Professor. And apparently Norah Kittridge too. Could’t things go as planned just for once in his life? Apparently not.

”Er, yeah sure,” was his only response to the shiny tinsel thing. Sweet Merlin. What had he done to deserve this? He wasn’t even on the naughty list this year, HE WAS SURE OF IT. The one time was in Fifth year, but his ‘getting a kid killed’ days were long over by now. It was ONE TIME. Maybe that big guy up there really did hold grudges. Not cool, Santa. Not cool.

The Seventh Year kinda hoped he’d get frostbite. HA. That’d show Santa.

But anyways, decorating. That’s what he was doing here. With Sophie Brown. And a Professor. And the Hufflepuff Prefect. Merlin.

Paul responded casually as he stood on the veeeeeeery tippy of his TOES to hang an ornament up on the branch. "Well--I'd say so! It makes me wonder how they NORMALLY decorate all these trees without our help! Because Merlin's pants! These trees are so big!" he chuckled and went to find another ornament. Even with being careful, Paul was still a bit surprised he hadn't dropped any of the ornaments...it was practically a miracle! A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!

Pfffft.

He waved at Miss Burton casually. "It's fine, m'dear. I hope you're enjoying the Christmas Feast thus far! I love all the festiveness of it all...Christmas time is just...one of the best times of year!"

Ilia felt deeply lonely and upset right now. Her best friend had left for home with his family and.....were they still best friends even? There was a pang in her chest that felt so sharp and caustic she feared it would eat through her chest. She couldn't go home for the holidays because her parents couldn't get along enough to be under the same roof right now and she definitely wasn't picking one over the other.

So....here she was....all alone. Watching people starting to decorate the massive trees as she walked. There were couples happily putting up decorations.......and it made her sick. Between her pre-divorcing parents and her 'best friend's' rejection she was NOT thrilled about seeing that sort of thing. 'Love' seemed to be this massive recipe for emotional pain and she wanted no part in it at all right now. Not even to see it.

She needed to distract herself and participate in these festivity type things though , so that she didn't lock herself in her dorm alone and just cry more. Tree decorating it was.....but.....damn it all there were couples and happy people EVERYWHERE. Sighing internally, she kept searching until.....bingo. Was this tree / general surrounding area free? Almost....there was a Yoongi there.

.....Close enough. The somewhat feminine boy wasn't awful company and he wasn't being all lovey dovey and gross with anyone. His slightly red, I am getting a cold nose was less icky than happy couples right now. "Hello Yoongi. Would you like some help?" Really he was getting her company whether he liked it or not, she was just trying to be polite about it.

This was going to be super fun and Cassie was excited to be able to be included. She looked around at the beautiful tree that would need decorated. How fun was this? Picking up some decorations she hummed Silent Night as she moved around the tree. This was just the best time of year and she hoped her family all loved the gifts she had gotten them.

Moving to get some more decorations she glanced around at all the festivities. This was very sweet to do with the children that stayed back or didn't have Christmas at home for whatever reason. Maybe some were leaving to head home on Christmas day? She wasn't fully sure all the reasons, but she was happy they were here to celebrate no matter the answer.

Twinkle was perched prettily on the tree, combing her hair with her fingers. Her eyelashes were long and she was batting them at whoever would look.

"Hello," she greeted quietly straying from Paulina's side to step closer to the tree where Twinkle was perched.
