Once invited inside Professor Baxter's office you are welcomed by the soft sunlight coming in from the window. You mean it's cloudy and there is somehow sunshine? Why, yes! Professor Baxter tends to concentrate better in light environments. Don't worry, if it's an issue she will do her best to accommodate her students. There are a few flowers that decorate her office, and if it wasn't obvious, the Charms Professor is quite fond of nature. Inside her office there a few portraits that tie in with the ones in the seating area.
Her desk it typically decorated in student work as she does not make an effort to decorate with personal belongings. There is a picture of her beloved pet fish, Fabio. Speaking of Fabio, his tank is located on the left wall opposite of the windows. You can bet his quarters are protected by protective wards. Anyone feeling daring enough to touch will be automatically zapped. If Professor Baxter is feeling kind and you have proven to be exceptional she might let you feed the fish.
Come in, feel welcomed, Professor Baxter always makes time for her students.

One thing about teaching younger kids, you never received such a cool and laid-back answer like the one she just got. Interesting.
"'Course I do." Hmm. The young man looked all too comfortable there. In the back of her mind Astrid hoped no one would decide to take this spot as napping spot. It was not. It was a waiting area.
Making a sweeping motion with her hand, she gestured for him to enter. "You're welcome to come in." Maybe he'll soak up some of the sunlight streaming into her room and get some energy.
Up, up, up!

Dante nodded and entered the office. Once he got up from from his comfortable position that is. This was a pretty nice office. Completely different than the previous one's was. Which was all Dante was going to say. He was indifferent as usual.
Dante took a seat.
"So Professor i was wondering how you go about learning the summoning charm. Since i have heard about it and want to learn. And since you are the Charms Professor. I felt you were the right person to talk to."
And that was basically why he was here.

Following the young wizard, Astrid rounded her desk, taking a seat across from him. And right to the point he went. So the Summoning Charm. Interesting. It was a popular and rather useful spell, she could see why he was interested.
Leaning back on her chair and linking her fingers over her lap, she nodded. "You've come to the right place. First, tell me what you know about the Summoning Charm." Has he only heard of it or has he actually looked into how the charm works?

Her. She understood that. He was here to see her. M'hm.
Aware of the earmuffs, Astrid kept her gaze on the child. He didn't seem shy. Did he have trust issues with adults? There was some experience in that. Whatever the case, he was welcome into her office.
Lowering her hand, Astrid smiled a small smile and waved her hand. The door behind the boy opened at her command. "You are welcome to step inside," said, gently enough at to not pierce the silence too roughly
As the door opened, Daxton looked back over his shoulder and peered into the room. Baxter's words had his gaze going back to her again, before he nodded, turned, and stepped inside.
Having his back to people always made Daxton feel anxious and wholly uncomfortable; it put him on edge, as he expected that someone might grab him, or come up and yell in his ear, or generally get up to no good. So once he was in the office, Daxton turned slightly so he could still see Baxter, but kept his distance. Finding no need for small talk or pleasantries (when was there any need for any of it?) he flipped through his notebook, found the page he needed and held it, and the stolen earmuffs, up so the teacher could read it.
'These block out too much noise and I want them to be a different colour.'
And that, essentially, was why he was here. To get the Charms teacher to do the magic for him.

Not in the office sense. It was a pretty nice office he supposed. Were there bad offices? Kyroh wasn't really sure. But it was weird because this had been his mum's office at one point too, right? Weird.
A wave of nervousness suddenly washed over him, the pit of his stomach sinking slightly. Hesitating for a bit he pointed to one of the chairs. "Do you think...I mean...may I sit down?"

Zander was SO ready to leave. In fact, once class was announced to be over he had packed his bags faster than he had ever done so in his life. He needed to blow off frustration. Except... He was called out. Well not really called out, but Professor Baxter asked him to stay behind, which he didn't want. Except, he couldn't really say that to her. She was a Professor and he was supposed to set an example this year more than ever. So he nodded and followed her to her office.
Even he had to admit, it was a nice office. He quite liked the flowers, they were a good touch. "You're office is nice," Especially the decorative flowers. But, he was trying to be sulky here. So that's the extent of compliments he'd give at the moment because he still couldn't get his mind off that stupid spell. Why the heck could he get it??? It was just one spell. It wasn't even THAT hard. He was a SEVENTH YEAR. He was HEAD BOY. He SHOULD'VE gotten it on even the first try.
"So... What do you need my help with, Professor?" He knew that she didn't actually want his help. She wanted to yell at him for not getting the spell at all during class. Which was... understandable. He was a seventh year. He was Head Boy. He was normally decent at Charms. Professor Quigley expected him to get an O this time around. Yet, here he was. Couldn't get the stupid nonverbal right. And now he was going to get in trouble for it even though he was probably already beating himself up about it even more than Professor Baxter would.

"Accio"
Dante said with the wand movement. He could not see if it worked because he had his eyes shut.
But he did feel something hit him in the face.

Astrid could SENSE the energy radiating off of the Head Boy. She was going to need a positive cleanse at this rate. Maybe he should too.
"Thank you." She had worked hard on setting up a comfortable environment that would hopefully help students feel welcomed in her office. Setting the bins she had shrunk down by her desk, Astrid pushed her hair back, then gestured at the chairs. "Have a seat." It might take a while. Depending.
"I actually didn't need your help," she smiled and sat down in her chair. He knew that, yeah? She didn't want to call him out and embarrass him further. Not that she had intended to in the first place. It would be a terrible thing to do. "I wanted to make sure if you were all right?" Was he? Astrid was good at sensing energies, and she had sensed his since the beginning of the class.

"But for a first time you did great." He did. Thank Merlin she had chosen a lily as his target. Had it been the actual vase...well, the Healer wouldn't have been impressed with her.

She wanted to make sure he was alright? OF COURSE HE WASN'T ALRIGHT!! He couldn't even get the spell to work ONCE. "Huh?.. Uh, yeah. I'm fine," he crossed his arms over his chest, clearly not alright. Clearly angry. Or upset. Or both. Yeah. Both.

Also not letting it anything hit him.
But yeah it was good criticism.

It was obvious he wasn't. The difference between primary prep wizards and teenagers, the former made their frustration clear. Either cried or threw a tantrum. Older kids, they tried to hold it in and try to seem indifferent when their body language said otherwise.
Astrid thought about other approaches. Clearly this was not primary school. Mainly why she was taking on this new challenge, because it was an actual challenge. Teenager. Fuzzy creatures.
"Mister Adair, if you think you're here because you're in trouble, please get that out of your mind. You are in no trouble at all," she smiled kindly. She understood being called out to a professor's office. It was all of a sudden, 'Oooh! You're in a load of trouble!' Not in her case. Not this time. "Evidently there was some issue with the lesson today, and I believe that is what has you in this mood at the moment." M'hm, m'hm. She wasn't judging him or accusing him, it was a fact and she preferred to be frank than beat around the tree...or bush? Whatever the term was. She wasn't beating around anything.
"And I want to help. How can I help so that next time it is less stressful?" Astrid was being sencere. His learning was important to her.

Levitating the lily back up and placing it back on its vase, Astrid asked, "Would you like to give it a go with your eyes open?" It would be a terrible thing to have him cast the charm with his eyes closed at some other time and having him get HURT. Not on her watch.

Astrid raised an eyebrow at the boy. And he wasn't stressed. Haha. Okay. She'd seen him in class, she wasn't blind. The brunette was going to let him be. No need to make things worse. What she wanted was to hopefully make things better.
"You can do them," she said confidently. Sure not at the moment, that was fairly obvious, but she BELIEVED. And she believed in him. "Have you ever attempted a nonverbal prior to my lesson?" If he hadn't it would explain today. If he had, he just needed more practice. "If you haven't, that is okay. Today was just so I can see where my students are, and so I can offer guidance." She paused, giving him an almost apologetic smile. "I did not intend to make you feel in any negative manner. I can help you with nonverbals out of class if you need more practice," she offered. Because, upper classmen were going to be required to cast nonverbal spells in all of her lessons.

Okay, okay so he had been lying this entire time. He was stressed. And he was frustrated. And he wasn't getting the stupid nonverbal to work. Happy?
And though Professor Baxter seemed to be confident that he could get the spell to work eventually, Zander wasn't all too sure. Had she seen him try in class? He must've had at least ten attempts and none of them worked. It was hopeless. And everyone else had seen him fail at it too, which made everything TEN times worse. "Eeeeerrr.... Not exactly," he mussed his hair. He was frustrated, yes, but embarrassed to admit that it was his first time trying. It's not that the Professor's never encouraged them to try... But it was never mandatory until now, so he didn't feel the need. But clearly that was a terrible choice because it was coming to bite him in the back. sigh.
"Really? I-uh-Yeah, actually... Maybe that'd... help," outside of class. Outside of class where the others wouldn't see him failing. Maybe that'd make things better? Astrid was taking a wild guess here - but only because she's seen it happen before - Mister Adair has been overcome by the attention of others. The pressure. She would also be embarrassed if the younger students came to her and asked to help HER out when she was his age. She would have been so terribly embarrassed. But she would have worked her bum harder so that would never happen to her again. People were different, but hopefully the Head Boy's attitude would change into one that believed in himself, because she did.
"Great," Astrid said, sounding a little more relieved than she would have wanted to admit. The want to get better, that's what he needed. WANT. Yes! Exciting. "Here," she handed him a piece of parchment and quill, "write down your schedule and the time, or times, you'll be able to drop by for practice. You will be casting nonverbals, just you wait, Mister Adair." She could feeeeel it in her bones. He would succeed at this, he would!

She appreciated that confident tone in his voice. He was ready. Astrid shot him a confident nod of her own. She believed he could do this, and he would only get better with practice.
Practice, practice!
"It is a familiar picture in your mind, so yes. It will make it slightly easier." Having it programmed in his mind would. He shouldn't grow confident that this will be as easy with other objects. A lot of variables come into play when casting.

Yes well, she was spot on. The lesson had been absolutely mortifying and that's why his mood here was less than positive. But hopefully it wouldn't last because sweet Merlin, he had to get the nonverbals to work at some point.
He took the quill and parchment though and began scribbling down his schedule. There were a lot of accommodations he'd have to make with Prefect/Head Duties, Gobstones, and his other classes.... Plus he still wanted time with Soph and to kick back in the common room. But he had still managed to pin point a few key times during the week where he'd be free for the extra practice. And hopefully a few of the times would work for Professor B.
"Thanks for doing this, Professor," he spoke quietly as he handed the parchment back over. Ahem. Or well, for offering to do this.
Guess she wasn't all that bad after all...

Not making much of a big deal at the kid's actions, Astrid went ahead and set her plate behind her desk and sat down. Oh. He had something to show her? Her vision zeroed in on the notebook.
Hmm.
"You would like them to be a different color," she said in a soft tone and a nod. "They would look nice in soft blue." M'hm. So what was his question? He had simply stated something, but not asked.
... Right. So. Why was she not doing anything? As far as Daxton was could tell, he had made his request very clear. Of course, Daxton was not so used to making requests for anything, especially with manners thrown in.
He did nothing for a moment but stood there and waited to see if the woman would act. A moment passed, and then another... and another... Eventually, Daxton creased his brow and looked at his notebook. No, it all seemed very clear what he wanted from Baxter, and yet... nothing.
There was another long moment of thought, before Daxton pushed his pen out of the spiral binding of the notebook and made a few amendments to his message, and added an extra sentence. When he was done, the Ravenclaw turned his notebook back and showed it to the professor once he was done, so the adjustments were visible.
'These block out too much noise and I want them to be a different colour. I want you to change them.'
Maybe that was clearer - though it baffled Daxton as to why it would need to be any clearer - and exactly what he wanted was emphasised, as well as the fact that he wanted Baxter to do it for him. There was no telling when he would be able to accomplish such practical magic.

He could have turned her offer down, seeing as he was Head Boy and had to have many responsibilities, but the fact that he accommodated her tutoring to his schedule made a sense of pride bubble in her chest. There was a reason this boy was sorted into Gryffindor. Inner tear. He made their house so proud.
Astrid couldn't hide a small, yet prideful smile. She nodded and took the parchment. "It is no problem, Mister Adair. It is my pleasure." She was so excited. He was going to have nonverbal casting down soon. He would. And he would be successful!

She understood. He wanted her to change the color of the earmuffs, but he could at least add a 'please' in there. Due to the lack of tone it could be taken that he was trying to order her. Astrid, though, decided to take it as in he wanted it as a favor, therefore, there was no problem with that.
"Alright, a different color." She studied the earmuffs briefly, then turned her attention back on the boy. A thought nudged her at the back of her mind. "What's your favorite color?" Merlin forbid she changed them to his least favorite color, though, him being here asking for a color change was saying much about preference.
