SO!

Seventh Year and Adi's FINAL Start of Term Feast!

He had realised the last bit such a long time ago, maybe over the summer and now that it was finally here, he was determined not to get all mopey about it. He was just going to sit back and enjoy EVERYTHING. He flopped at his beloved House Table, his eyes already scanning the the Hall and the arrivals. He was looking forward to meeting his new generation of Badgers. Yessers, indeed.

His brown eyes stopped at the Staff table where he positively STARED at the new faces and the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw. Of course, staff changes... he had read about it in the Yearbook. He was going to miss the Professors who had left especially Glendower and Bellaire.

Adi turned his attention away back to the House tables. Soon he would be making the usual trip around to them. Yep.

He had opted for Hufflepuff table...for now.

At least Adi wasn't going to be upset with him and his best friend's bubbly nature might be the very thing he needed to improve his mood right now. Benny really didn't want to start the year off feeling meh but then it had been partly his fault. He should have striven harder to speak with Angel over the summer. Preferably after his birthday when he could apparate away or do something with his magic to help.

Alas he hadn't and as he made his way to the badger table, the seventh year Gryffindor plopped down beside his bestie, his attention randomly on the table and random students as they arrived to join them. "Hey..." he greeted Adi simply , trying to act as normal as he could at the moment.

Marsha had told her friends that she would be right back - she had someone to see first. Someone to see before she sat down to eat. So, she had skipped on over to the Hufflepuff table, tapped on the seventh years shoulder and bounced on her tip toes until he turned around to face her.

”Hi!” She grinned, giggling. And then, for good measure she lunged forward and wrapped her arms around his neck. ”Did’cha miss me!?” The only good answer was yes, by the way… Just in case you didn’t know that already Adi. Huge grins as she set her chin on his shoulder - this was the only time she’d ever be able to do this so she was taking the time to do it. Yup. Adi was TALLLLLLL.

”And did you have a good Summer?” Alll the questions.

As Benny sat down, she threw a smile in his direction. Hihi.

Henry had been so nervous to sit on the stool under the sorting hat in front of the entire school. It wasn't that he was too worried about what the hat might say, though the thought did briefly cross his mind that he might be sorted in an unexpected house. But it was more about all those eyes attentively focused on him.

But the experience hadn't lasted more than a few minutes and once it was confirmed that he was a HUfflepuff, he happily hopped off the stool and over to the table of the yellow and black. Of course he didn't really know anyone yet, being new and he shyly looked around at some of the faces before trying to find a seat.

Oh, hey! He knew that guy, he was the prefect! "Hi, Adi," he smiled as he took a seat near the older boy. His eyes wandered towards the other older boy sitting there too, giving him a little smile, though he wasn't wearing Hufflepuff robes. Gryffindor, he thought...

And speaking of Gryffindors, there was a girl dressed that way as well, but his size. And she looked quite familiar. Wasn't she the one who helped him reach the dragon book at the bookstore? "Hi," he said, giving her a smile also. Though he wasn't sure he ever caught her name. Hmm, it was interesting that people sat at different house tables than their own, and he took to looking around a moment to take in the sights.

Henric grinned, it was great to be back here again! He missed the splendor of his school's Great Hall and the floating candles above.That would never get old...yup! He couldn't wait to sample the feast too, his stomach already growling like a madman. Henric only had the tandoori wrap Adi made for him earlier, it wasn't enough to satisfy a growing 15 year old young man insatiable hunger though.He wanted moreeee! Especially those pumpkin pastries...mhmmm.He wondered when the sorting hat ceremony going to begin? Ohhh...he was jumping in joy here! (not literally of course) And there would be new firstiess joining his brilliant house! Exciting....excitinggg...new firsties means new samplers to taste his bakery skills.Heheh.

He looked around for familiar faces at his house table, there was the Hufflepuff prefect and Benny! WICKED! "Hello Helloooo! Nice to meet you gents again!" He threw them both a bro fist...yes, he never forget Benny too.There was also the gryffindor girl joining them ,Marsha her name right? "Hi there, you're Marsha right? Nice to meet you, I'm Henric!" he introduced himself happily.OH...lookie here a new firstie(Henry)!

"Hello! Welcome to Hufflepuff mate! Whats your name?!" he greeted as he patted the boy's shoulder.

He was a Hufflepuff, he was a Hufflepuff. Yay!

Owen was here. At the Hufflepuff table because he was a Hufflepuff. He was so excited for EVERYTHING.

And Henry was here. He was also a Hufflepuff, more yay! "Henry!" Owen wobbled towards his friend. Excuse me, BIG kid coming through. "We're in the same house!" Awesome. Did that make them bros? Hehe.

There were so many people. He wanted to make friends and stuff but he was too shy to say hi first so he just threw beams at all of them.

Baby Badgers, Baby Badgers, where you guys at?

Adi had been paying attention to the Sorting Hat, waiting for it all to get started. He recognised Henry among the newbies and crossed his fingers, hoping the boy would join Hufflepuff House. Just then, someone arrived... in the form of Benny. Well, he was clearly no baby Badger. Hehe. "Benny! The Lion table is that way!'' Cue the pointing! It wasn't like Benny to be making a trip to another House table on the very first day of the term. That was Adi's thing. He took a closer look at his friend. "Is something wrong?" He was lost, not really having the chance to hang out with Benny on the Train and the carriages, so he was clueless about what had taken place.

Feeling the tap on his shoulder, Adi turned fully around, ready to greet whoever it was. There was a huge smile instantly on his face. "Marsha! Hello!'' Before he knew what was happening, he was being hugged and clung to around the neck area. Not that he minded one bit. The seventh year hugged the second year back tightly. "Of course I did! I missed your energy, you know. Those giggles too.'' Her chin on his shoulder, Adi gently bumped his cheek repeatedly against Marsha's head. "Summer was super fun! But it's great to be back, wouldn't you say so?'' Also, he had been thinking of something but he would her about it later. "How about you? Did you make more creature friends?'' He knew all about her love for them. Yep, he did.

The prefect had been focusing on Henry when it was his time to put on the Sorting Hat. HUFFLEPUFF, he heard the Hat say. Henry was a Puffer! This was AWESOMEEE! And what was just as awesome? Henry remembered him. "Heya, Henry!'' Big, warm grins for you, little fella! "Welcome to Hogwarts and Hufflepuff! You needed those yellow and black ties, after all.'' Hehe. Oh yesh. Adi had a welcome present for him. "Here's a Chocolate Frog for you. It should keep you going until the Feast starts.''

Adi laughed and shook his head at Henric, pleased to see his friend seemed to have regained his usual attitude after the revelations on the carriage. "Seriously, Henny. You would think that we haven't seen each other in a long time,'' he joked, returning the fist bump with enthusiasm. "Did you gobble up all that stuff I got you already?'' He couldn't blame his friend. Food was sooooooo one of the best things in the world!

Ohh, looky! They had another firstie! And he was all beamy! "HI, big guy!'' Enthusiastic greeting for the dude. "Welcome to Hogwarts and Hufflepuff! I'm Adi, one of your House prefects.'' And no. Adi was NOT the scary type of prefect. Hehe. Also, did the kid mind he was being referred to as 'big guy'?

Noel Wallace was now a sixth year. He'd actually survived the dump for this long. Who would have thought? Walking with a certain stride because you know SIXTH YEAR, the sixteen year old made his way to the puff table.

Spotting Adi and Henric right away, he clapped them on the back, "What's up, lads? Fun summer?"

And ickle first years (Henry & Owen) were already making their way to the table. "Hello. Hello," the older boy smiled at the two before taking a seat opposite them. "Now. I hope you both know what you are in for," he asked with a raised brow.

Colt decided to take a walk and venture out. He wanted to check out the other houses tables. He saw other people doing it and he loved exploring. He went to the Hufflepuffs table because frankly he had no idea what they were known for. He knew they weren't the most popular house. He knew a lot of people didn't talk about them. I mean why would they the name along sounds kind of a duffer. He saw there was a fair amount of students here and he was kind of nervous to do this but he wanted to try and make friends in different houses. He shook it off and made his way. "Dont be a whimp Winchester.." he told himself.

He found someone that looked his age and he sat down next to him. "Hey dude." he greeted him with. That was good enough for now yeah? "This place is massive.." he commented looking around the great hall.

Oh he was well aware that the Lion's table was in the direction his best friend was pointing, ignoring it for now. "I'm trying my role out as mascot," Benny commented absently, refering to one of their summer conversations. At the question about something being wrong, he looked awkwardly at his hands before mumbling..."Angel and I broke up."

There was another lion coming over to the Huffie Table so he wasn't totally on his own. Not that it was unexpected, especially her behavior towards Adi, the prefect and friend one of the friendliest people around. No doubt there was only a rare few that weren't nice to him. When a smile was aimed in his direction, Benny managed a weak smile not wanting to be all grumpy to everyone, especially not a younger housemate. A newly sorted Puffer joined the table and the Gryffindor simply tried to appear friendly.

And then there was Henric, a boy he had an...interesting relationship with, though they had seemingly improved at the end of the last term. Benny was well aware of the younger boy's likelihood of being there at the table, but like Adi, he was seemingly always bubbly. Only Adi had any clue of the possibility of what was the reason from his less than happy facade. He hesitated at the offered fistbump, but finally returned it so he wasn't rude. No reason to start back down that road with the boy. "Hey."

Norah had marched to the Hufflepuff table with her chest puffed aaaaaaalll the way out. Had everybody SEEN her badge yet? 'Cause they needed to see her badge. It was the ultimate proof that she was all grown up, so obviously it was very important. Fifth years were on the top half of all the years now, PLUS prefect so really this was HER FEAST. She owned it. Even if Zander didn't want any titles she could still be Princess Prefect in her own head so THERE. Heh. Princess Prefect. It was exciting every time she thought it up there, even more than when she'd jumped down the stairs to inform her mum and dad every day leading up to today that she was THE Princess Prefect. They got bored of it but she'd never ever ever. Probably. Responsible people didn't make promises they couldn't keep so she wasn't gonna promise, uh huh. SEE THAT? GROWN UP. Not as fun as not being grown up, but still. At least it wasn't the studying kind of responsibility.

She took a seat at the table and un-puffed her chest on account of her back starting to feel like it was going to go inside out if she kept at it. She gave Adi a regal wave, beaming at the Benny and Marsha even though they were Gryffindor stowaways. Noel With the Pretty Face got a smile too, even if it came out a little lopsided and blushy because APPARENTLY her face had gotten worse at staying a normal shade of way-too-pale over the summer. Lame. But where were her BABY PUFFS, huh? She was their PRINCESS now. The fifth year sat with her hands pressed against her cheeks, trying to hold in the bounces but letting a few out as she watched the sorting go on and on with loads of fun ickles 'till two new Puffers were sitting at HER table. COULD SHE HUG THEM? PRETTY PLEASE?

"HI PUFFS, I'M NORAH. PREFECT NORAH. I LIKE YOU ALREADY." Was that too loud? Being Prefect gave her permission to be loud, right? Or did it mean she wasn't supposed to be loud? Huh. She'd have to ask Sophie some time when she was less excited about BEING ALIVE. She gave the two firsties (Owen and Henry) a biiiiig thumbs up (a thumbs up could be big if you DREAMED BIG, okay?) and an even bigger smile. "How excited are you? I'm here if you ever need anything okay, even in the very middle of the night 'cause you're a lot importanter than sleep." Had she asked their names yet? Whatever. That was secondary information.

Abby was not sure why she stopped by the Hufflepuff table cause she knew that Lux was being homeschooled this term because of what happened but maybe it was just the urge to know more hufflepuffs and have more friends to talk to and she missed her boyfriend where was he and why was there no contact from him

Someone was talking to him. Eeep! An older student who was welcoming them firsties. A prefect - wait, what was a prefect again? Ooooh, right. Students leaders. Mhm. "Hello, Adi!" More beams. He just couldn't help himself. He was full of excitement. A little hungry, but excited all the same. "I'm Owen." He was talking to a prefect. Coool!


Another older student was talking to him and Henry! "Hi. Hi!" Owen greeted back with a grin which froze in place when he heard what the older boy said. Phew, this guy was being spooky. Ermmm. "I think so?" He required an answer, yes?


Then someone was raising her voice over all the other voices and announcing that she was the other Prefect. Riiiight, there were two prefects for each house. He had read that. This prefect was also nice. Giving them thumbs up and whatnot and asking them questions and telling them they were importanter. IMPORTANTER. That was a word! "I'm as excited as my size!" Hahaha. He was! "And thaaaaaanks!" He was definitely going to take up that offer when he gets hungry at night.

Philipe walked in and glanced around, slightly surprised... This seemed... very dull compared to last years excitement... Then again he wasn't being sorted, he knew where he was going to sit, especially considering he didn't have any friends still and he was going to have to deal with an annoying cousin now. All he could hope was Lucas wouldn't end up in the same house, that was the last thing he needed now.

He sighed as he sat down towards the end of the table, glancing around again, he already really missed his home too... He barely spent any time with his mother at the station... Too busy with his aunt and uncle to pay her any mind really, and he regretted it. He sighed and pulled out his notebook as well as a pen, starting to write home already, namely to say he was sorry for not spending more time with his mother.

Bleu walked quietly to the Huffie table. She couldn't believe that this was going to be her last start of term feast. She was kinda sad that she hadn't made more friends and gotten to know more people. But she was happy that she had met the friends that she had now. She was sad that Kace and Lux were gone already. She missed them both terribly. Especially Lux. But she understood why Lux didn't want to come back.

She found a whole empty section at the Huffie table and sat quietly, playing with the hem of her robe and wondering when she would see Dylan and his beautiful hair bouncing about. She couldn't wait to see him.

Henry returned Adi's smile, happy to see that the prefect was just as excited to see him in the same house. "Thanks! I just knew I'd be a Hufflepuff!" See, it worked just the way he thought. Both of his parents had been Hufflepuffs and now he was too. Oh, what? How awesome, Adi was the coolest! "Wow, thanks!" he grinned as the older boy handed him a chocolate frog. He had to admit that he was kind of hungry and was definitely ready for the feast. But the candy would tide him over for a little bit at least. "How long till we get to eat?" He started to open the package to see what kind of card he got.

Ooh, Rowena Ravenclaw.. did he have that one yet? Henry thought a moment, then looked up as he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Oh, hi.. thanks," he smiled at the older boy (Henric) as he welcomed him to Hufflepuff. "My name's Henry." It seemed like everyone was really friendly so far and that made him feel a little better about not really knowing people yet and being away from home.

His eyes caught the sight of someone headed for their table. Gasp. "Owen! You're a Hufflepuff too?! That's awesome!" They were destined to be best friends now, he just knew it. And he offered his fellow first year a big grin and a high five. So cool! One of his new friends in the same house as him and they'd probably be roommates too. He was still smiling when an older boy (Noel) sat across from them. "Hi," he returned the greeting, though his smile soon faded as he looked at him with slightly widened eyes. "What does that mean?" Just what were they in for?

And then there was a rather loud voice at their table and Henry looked up to see what that was about. Wow.. who was that? Well, she said her name was Prefect Norah, so that answered that. And he did know that there were supposed to be two prefects, and know he knew who both were. She seemed nice and he returned the smile and thumbs up. "Pretty excited!" he answered with a grin. "Okay, thanks. And my name's Henry." Cuz it was probably important that she know.

Glancing around at some of the other faces, he noticed another boy about his age (Philipe). He thought he miiiight be another first year, and so Henry tried to appear friendly as the boy seemed to keep to himself a bit. Trying to catch his eye, he offered the other boy a little wave.

Henric chuckled at Adi's comment,"Yeah well, its the start of the term feast man...I'm just glad to be back here and see you guys, don't ruin it,"he teased back. For now, he wanted to forget his melancholy thoughts earlier back at the carriage and be his usual Henric self.Besides, he wasn't the kind to 'mope' around very long. Positive thoughts always kept him going and also the feast! That would certainly help cheer him up soon! "Yes, all in my stomach mate...very nice! but I still need more food. It's begging for more roasted turkey..chicken drumsticks...mash potatoes and pumpkin pastries,man...I'm salivating... when the speech starting??"he groaned. He turned to Benny and smiled, atleast the older mate returned his friendly fist bump. He guessed it was a start for them to be on good terms again."Nice! Hope your summer spent at the dragon reserve was great, can't wait to hear stories from you,man..."

"Woah...you have almost the same name as me...Henry! Nice to meet you,glad you're in Hufflepuff mate...we need more brilliant people like you around, don't worry...we're cool,we don't bite,"he shrugged, chuckling. Henric noticed the chocolate frog that Adi gave to the boy."Nice...you've got Rowena Ravenclaw, I've got a few of them...Adi gave some for me too....we can trade!"he offered excitedly. "Do you happen to like dragons too?"he asked casually.

Oh another firstie (Owen)...Woah...he's big and tall.Was he really in first year? Hmmm...SWEET and utterly brilliant! This one here had no problem sampling his baked goodness,hope he liked blueberry muffins and strawberry jam rolls! "Hello, Owen! My name is Henric...welcome to Hufflepuff,mate!"he greeted the boy.

"Noel, glad to see you here, how was your summer man? Hope your band doing great as well,"Henric grinned at the sixth year.Oh, Noel was already starting to scare the firsties! Man...the mate had a way with words! Henric couldn't help chuckling slightly,"True..true.."he added in. Hey..it was important for them to be prepared for the term ahead,right?...*sniggers*

And there was his same year new Hufflepuff prefect girl housemate,Norah, she seemed so bubbly today! He waved at her,"Hey Norah, congrats for making prefect! If you don't know me by now..I'm Henric." *Cue charming grin*

At the corner of his eyes, he noticed a second year (Phillipe) sitting alone by himself. Woah woah...nobody got left behind at the Hufflepuff table."Hey buddy, you're alright there?" he asked the boy kindly.

The Sorting Hat had placed her in Hufflepuff, and at the moment Paulina didn't know how she felt about it.

Nothing personal against the House, she just...didn't know anyone FROM it.

Approaching the table slowly, she gave a small wave to everyone who was already seated. "Hello," she said shyly while looking for a free place to sit down. This whole meeting people was making her feel a little awkward so maybe she'd feel better sitting down.

"I'm Paulina," she added after realizing she hadn't introduced herself.

Adi suddenly felt a hearty clap on his back. He suddenly wished he could talk to everyone AT ONCE because it seemed as though every time he was in conversation with someone, another approached him. Not that he really minded. Being social was SUPER DUPER fun! "Hiiiya, Noel! it's going great! How were OWLs? Ready to take on sixth year?"

Ahh, looky! It was that dude from Diagon Alley...Colt. "Colt! Hey!'' Adi grinned at the boy. "Congrats on Slytherin.'' Yep, yep. He had been paying attention, you know, to the Sorting. "So, what do you think of Hogwarts so far?'' It was impressive, yes?

Okaaaay, so Benny was ignoring his pointing and stuff. Did Adi care? Nope! But he did care about his friend being more reserved than he usually was. At least with Adi, Benny was less reserved so one could understand his concern. But Benny was bringing that joke. The Puff couldn't help but laugh as he flashed back to him telling his friend he would turn him into a badger for the first year Puffs to play with. But then Adi was staring. Like REALLLLLLLY staring. "You did?" No way! Honestly, he hadn't expected Benny to go through with that so fast and he was not going to lie... his bestie deserved someone with brains. Singing and marching out to the spiders was a suggestion that still had him shaking his head in disbelief every time he thought of it. He clapped Benny on the shoulder. "It's for the best. Look on the bright side. You'll have only me to hang out with 24/7.'' Wasn't that awesome? Hehe. "Here. Have some kiddies.'' Adi passed over a healthy stash of the sours. Eat up, Dragon!

Aha! There came their other Prefect! Adi waved back, having already talked to Norah in the Prefect's compartment. He was so pleased with the choice for her as prefect. He himself had figured it would have been her or Leah. Aww, wasn't she fit for the role too? Look at her greeting the Puffs.

Then there was a Ravenclaw at their table. Cool! They had visitors from the other three Houses! "Abby!'' Adi called out to his friend. "How's it going? Did you have a good summer?''

Oh, GOODY! Owen didn't mind being called 'big guy' it would seem. Adi liked him at once. He seemed bright and bubbly and all that flair that Puffs usually had. Like Lux and Toby. Gosh, he missed those two. "Awesome to meet you, Owen! What was your Sorting like? Did you talk with the Hat?'' Oh yesh! Adi had a Froggy for Owen too! "Here you go.'' He happily pushed a Chocolate Frog over to the firstie.

Well, THERE was another badger! Certainly not a firstie anymore but still one of the seventh year's precious babies. "Heya, Philipe! Excited at being back? Want a Chocolate frog?'' Without waiting for a single answer, he passed over a treat to the boy just as Bleu joined them. She got a wide grin. "Hey! How are you? Seen Dylan yet?" Because Adi was wondering where his guitar buddy was.

Adi was so pleased about Henry's excitement about being in Sorted into Hufflepuff. It was nice to see that his expectations had been not and he had not been disappointed. The older Puff grinned. "You'll love it even more since our common room is so close to the Kitchen.'' This was something that served Adi well given his generous appetite. "No problem.'' He reached over to ruffle Henry's hair, immediately remembering Alec Summers and Wade Potter who had both done the same to him in his first year. "After the Headmaster's speech. I hope he hurries. I'm starved.''

Adi snorted. "Take a look in the mirror, Henny. The face staring back is enough to ruin YOUR own time.'' HAHA! He was totally ribbing and mercifully pretty boy Henric had a great sense of humour and didn't take things seriously. "Gosh, Henny! Are you sure you at at all today? Or this week? You and pumpkin pastires... but you do like Ilia more than those, right?'' Adi smirked. There was no way Henric would get away witouth some teasing.

NEW BADGER! NEW BADGER ALERT!
Okay, she wasn't an ickle firstie but Adi didn't care. She was a Hufflepuff! And she looked so shy. Naww, they had to make her feel at home. "Welcome to Hogwarts and Hufflepuff House! I'm Adi, one of the House prefects. Nice to meet you, Paulina.'' Adi grinned. "Where did you transfer from?''

Abby smiled at Adi and said "Yes it is going good thanks Adi and yes i did have a good summer, how was your summer Adi?"

Yes, he was a Hufflepuff too, Henry. This was officially the second best thing after his sorting that went well. His friend being in the same house! And Henry liked Sushi, his goldfish so yea, so cool. HIGH FIVES! They were being cool. Woohoo! "It is! We're officially wizards, Henry!" Right right right? "By the way, do you think they'll be serving food soon?" Owen asked his friend, still BEAMING. Hehehe. He was happy in every which way but he was also getting hungry.

Priorities.

Oooh. Henric. "Whoa! Yea, you almost have the same name as my friend here." He gestured to Henry. That was another cool thing. They were full of coolness here! "Thank you. It's nice to meet you, mate." Mate. Hehe. It was an English thing. Owen still got fascinated sometimes about the difference in culture on this continent to where he was originally from.

"My sorting didn't take long, I think. It was..." How did he put it, fun, exciting, nerve-wracking at the same time? "...it was one of a kind. The hat did the talking mostly. I just told it to put me kindly in a house where I could have food." Because food was a VITAL necessity. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the Hat did not disappoint, apparently. Because here was the nice prefect giving him a Chocolate Frog. "THANKS!" He might have said that one out loud, but ah, who was to blame him? He truly appreciated people who gave him food. "Sorry. That was probably loud. I'm already getting hungry so really, thanks Adi." No time to waste. Owen promptly took a bite off the chocolate frog. Headless choco frog. Eeep!

Philipe looked up thinking he saw something and low and behold there was a young man waving to him... He looked about the same age, so he waved back not wanting to be rude. He gave a very weak smile, maybe he was a first year just looking for new friends? It would be nice to meet someone and actually talk to someone this year.



He blinked slightly hearing someone... Were they talking to him? He looked up and looked at the older boy, "Um... I'm fine..." Philipe looked up at him slightly puzzled, kinda used to being ignored after his previous year here, "Just writing home to let my mother know I got here safe..." Much as it probably seemed like a little kid thing to do.



He looked up and there was a chocolate frog by him... Hm, seemed like the work of his prefect who just about killed him the previous year when he yanked him under the table... Not that Philipe was holding that against his prefect or anything like that. "Hey, thanks Adi." He nodded to him and gave a weak smile

Norah noticed him, brandishing him a smile as she sat. He managed a small one of his own before noticing the badge now pinned to her robes. It seemed she was Adi's new prefect partner in crime. "Congrats," he couldn't help saying to the younger Hufflepuff. She certainly seemed enthusiastic about her new role in the school, greeting the new and returning students with gusto.

Henric didn't seem bothered by his hesitance for which Benny was thankful. Don't mind the Lion being out of sorts at your table Puffers.
