SO THIS WAS IT?!?!?! THE GREAT HALL AND SHE WAS A GRYFFINDOR AND OMG THIS WAS ALL SO EXCITING!! Dora had done the whole standing and staring and mouth agape thing, now it was time to act like a PROPER PERSON WHO HAD BEEN PLACES BEFORE.

BUT THIS WAS HOGWARTS AND IT WAS SO AMAZING AND AWESOME AND BIG AND COOL. She might faint, or pee. She was unsure as to which. (Probably neither.)

DORA KENNEDY UMBRIDGE plopped herself down at her house table and fidgeted. FIDGETING WAS HAPPENING. Because like she wanted to go talk to Uncle Sabel... but she was SURE it was inappropriate... but she DID peek up there at that big scary table full of big scary people aND WAVED AT HER UNCLE SABEL. She did. Indeed.

Now. Where was Charlotte? WHERE WAS KEANE? WHERE WAS SOPHIE BROWN, HER NEW BFF!!??

Marsha was excited. Okay, she was also a little bored that train journey had taken FOREVER and this year she had to sit and wait and watch all of the new first years getting sorted…. however at least she had managed to take a carriage up to the school instead of the boats - that had just been a DISASTER waiting to happen last year.. the carriages were much much nicer.

Hehehe. Sitting surrounded by her bestest friends, the almost thirteen year old grinned wide as she waited and watched. She clapped for each new student that got sorted but whooped and clapped and made a lot more noise for the newly sorted Gryffindors that joined their table. Although, she made loud whooping noises for her cousin Remy who got sorted into Hufflepuff. She made a mental note to introduce him to Adi. Yup.

Second year, here I come! Hehe. Very exciting times were ahead.. though she needed to know who was replacing Professor Quiggley since he wasn’t here anymore… though she had seen him over the Summer hehe. So, she scanned the top table and her heart dropped. Where was Professor Thompson? Where was Professor Glendower?! WHERE was Professor Bellaire (though, hopefully the new Transfiguration professor wasn’t as crazy? Maybe she’d learn quicker this term).... and who among the new faces was taking over from Professor Truebridge with Herbology.

CRY!!!! SO MUCH CHANGE.

Sigh. This, this was going to take some getting used to. Really, Sha wasn’t sure that she liked this much change - especially when it meant that so many of her favourite Professors had left. Nope. Not good. Not good at all.

Angel didn't really want to come to the Great Hall for the start of term feast, she was sure you could tell she had been crying in the train and she just wanted to lay down and wait for the speech, she looked around the room to see who was there and she saw a few of her friends at their table this was great she gave a small smile as she realised there was someone else at the table, she thought about introducing herself but she was still sad about what had happened, so in the end she put her hands on her head and just stared into space.

This was really happening.

She's really in Hogwarts now. Hogwarts, dude! After all this time she only heard from her dad and Dima how magical this place is, now Ava experienced it by herself: boarding to the school by Hogwarts train, go onto the first years boat and the feast... Also the sorting hat. And she's a Gryffindor! Of course she was very happy to join the lions because 1. Ava Burton was the ONLY Gryffindor in her family, that's kinda make her one of a kind. and 2. She did know some Gryffindor seniors. And they were cool. The new Gryffindor girl then jumped happily to the Gryffindor's house table.

This was exciting.

She watched her twin brother walked to Ravenclaw house table. This was the first time they got separated. It's gonna be fine. She talked to herself. And uh... Was that the loud kid (Dora) that she threw a can onto? Well... interesting. (Hope that she wouldn't recognize her). "Hello." She greeted an older student (Marsha) and smiled. Why this girl didn't look so happy?

It was probably not appropriate to bolt down the narrow aisle looking for a seat when your eyes were still dazzling with excitement but that was exactly what THIS KID was doing. His heart was still beating like a zillion times faster after hearing he was now officially and forever a Gryffindor and the grin was still firmly plastered onto his face. Gryffindor! He actually did it! He made the hat put him in Gryffindor!--Or so the quill and notepad that had now caught up with him would tell it.

By the time he DID get to the table, the boy was breathless and beaming at everyone in his general area. Didn't matter that the only ones he currently knew were Dora and Ava sitting across the table, he was just RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY RIGHT NOW AND NOTHING WAS GONNA CHANGE THAT!!!

Now where was his cousin and why wasn't his butt at this table yet? The jerk just had to have 'M' for a last name, DIDN'T HE?? Sigh. The boy wiggled into a seat and looked in all directions. Who did he talk to first?? Would they talk back?? WHY WAS A GRYFFINDOR GIRL SORTA CRYING??? "HI GUYS!" There! Communication. He did the thing.

Dora has been quiet... just a ball of energy. IT WAS RADIATING OFF OF HER. All of the energy. She was going to BURST!

And then she saw the girl... the one that threw something at her. HMPPPPH! "YOU SHOULDN'T THROW THINGS AT PEOPLE! I WROTE TO MY DAD AND AS NOW THAT I KNOW YOUR NAME YOU ARE GOING TO GET A HOWLER! " Dora SHOUTED AT HER. Hmpppph. She hadn't written to her dad YET, but she would. And she didn't know her name YET, but she would. Mortal enemy. Yep. And now Dora was DONE with her. DONE!! And she flipped her ponytail as she turned her head and her eyes fell on Blaise.

TOOTHY GRINS HAPPENED!!

At least he was loud too. Ha! HAHAHAHAHAHA! LOUD FIRST YEARS FOR THE WIN!! "Did you see Bartholomew Henry, BLAISE?! DID HE TRY TO EAT YOU?! "

Nooooo. Of course he didn't, but whatever. WHAT. EVER. HIIIIIII PEOPLE OF THE TABLE. HIIIII!!!! Dora bounced in her seat abe waved around to everyone (except Ava).

Yoongi had been hoping that this Headmaster was different than the Headmistress had been. Not that she was bad or anything but perhaps this one would let them eat first and then give a speech? Because he was hungry and could get a bit grumpy when he was. But alas, as he entered the Great Hall (trying not to think about this being the place the spiders attacked last year) and saw that there was no food ready to be eaten by him he sighed.

And that’s when he remembered that it was tradition to sort the first years in to their houses. He was looking forward to seeing the new Gryffindors of this year. It came clear that there were quite a few sorted as he looked at the little kids sitting there. Still, he did not really want to sit with first years and preferred sitting with some of the older students…where were they though? He only saw Angel who got a wave by the way. And Marsha as well, who got a wave too. “Welcome to Gryffindor little ones!” he smiled broadly at the first years and sat down at the table. Come on food.

Most GLORIOUS time of year upon them once more, besides celebrating a House Cup victory, Sir Nicholas had taken painstaking care in setting his smashing moustache and goatee for the evening. His ruff was also looking particularly eye catching as well. The ghost had his own reasons for looking especially dapper and festive this evening. Besides the obvious.

"WELCOME WELCOME!" he announced as per his usual entrance up through the middle of the table. "Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington at your service. Resident ghost of Gryffindor Tower and absolutely delighted to make your acquaintance."

A brief speech directed towards those new to Gryffindor, of course.

A trip over here was on the agenda, of course. There was no way he was skipping this table. After this, he would only need to stop by at the Snake table. "Yoongi!'' The Puff took a seat next to his Spider fighting buddy. "How's it going, man?" He peered around at the others. Gosh, firsties everywhere!

"Welcome to Hogwarts, guys!'' he told them cheerfully. "Congrats on being in Gryffindor!'' Adi grinned at one of the firstie girls (Ava). Just being a friendly badger here. Oh, there was Sir Nick! "Good evening, Sir Nick!" A millisecond of a pause. "Olas!'' Haha. "How are you?"

She's BACK! Hogwarts! Finally!

Its good to be back!

Candice made her way towards the Gryffindor table and ss usual its already filled with people and some new LOUD firstie. What's with the first year this term? Did they eat to much sugary things? Oh and look wasn't that the girl (Dora) she met at the Ice Cream Parlour? She's a Gryffindor? Good for her. And this time she's not covered in ice cream, that's even better. And then there's her table hockey partner (Ava) She's a Gryffindor too? What a small world. "Hi, Welcome to Gryffindor." And why did the ice cream girl talking about Howler? Yeah, she didn't want to get in between firstie business. Better stay away from them while she can.

The fifth year scanned the Gryffindor table hoping to see a familiar faces. Her eyes landed on one of the Valentines twins (Angel). AJ? Or Angel? Judging from her gloomy face. She probably Angel. She decided to sit next to Angel. "Hi, Angel. Long time no see." She gave the girl a small pat on the back. "You okay?" She didn't seem too happy to be here.

Oh. Look, its Sir Nicholas. Candice gave the ghost a curt nod. "Hello Sir Nicholas, did you have a good summer?"

And then she saw someone who's not belong to the Lion's table (Adi) What's Mr. Hufflepuff Prefect doing here? "Hufflepuff table is that way." Candice pointed out the Puffers table to Adi. Just in case he forgot where his house table was.

Zeke was smug when he entered the Great Hall. Very, visibly smug... for anyone that knew him at least. With his signature grin in place, and hands still in pockets, he walked!strutted over to the Red and Gold to claim his seat. He was amongst his people now, but he yearned to visit the Slytherin's table. Later. After speech and food.

As it so happened, sorting seemed well within Gryffindor's favour... or not... depending on ones interpretation of recruits. He nodded in greeting before also saluting Ava. Hey there.

And then there were OTHER first years too, and they all looked like trouble - in the best possible way. It all amounted to a single outcome: fun.

Sir Nicholas too received a respectful nod from the now fourth year, as did Adi who seemed to be visiting with them already. No time like the present he supposed.

Angel was totally just staring into space and so she didn't see anyone coming to sit next to her or heard what her friend said, it wasn't until she felt a hand on her back did she realise someone was there.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!

Angel felt like she must have jumped a mile in the air when she felt the hand. How had someone got so close without her noticing. She looked around to see her friend Candice had sat down next to her. "Hi Candice." Angel looked around the room and that was when she noticed Yoongi was waving, she gave him a small wave back and there was Marsha who got a wave as well, this was awesome, maybe she would feel better with all her friends around.

Angel looked around and saw her house ghost. "Hello Sir Nicholas, did you have a good summer?" Angel thought that it was polite to ask him, since she hadn't seen him since last term, anything might have happened in all that time.

Angel then turned back to Candice, who seemed to be looking at her. "Sorry Candice." Angel sighed. "Did you ask something?" Angel had been staring into space and she hadn't heard anything at all.

The opening feast. His first feast as Headboy. His LAST start-of-the-term feast EVER. The last time he got to watch firsties get sorted. The last time he'd get that 'I'm-going-to-fail-all-my-classes-again' feeling. Sweet Merlin. This feast was a handful of firsts, but more than that it was a handful of lasts too.

AND HE WAS GONNA SHOW UP LATE??????

It wasn't his fault, okay? After he and Sophie had managed to escape the Prefect's compartment for a bit, he got a little distracted. But distraction was allowed, okay??? He was starting the dreaded year of the NEWTs!!! This was all PERFECTLY acceptable. Also, once he realized he was one of the last out he definitely started running to the carriages. Of course, upon entering the Great Hall, he made a stop right outside to catch his breath again and to straighten up his robes, tie, and badge.

And his hair was probably everywhere too. So he ran a hand through it, no doubt making it way worse. There. Perfect. Well, near as perfect as he'd ever get because LOL it's Zander Adair we're talking about here. Now uh, if only the nerves would kindly exist to the right, thanks. But with that being said, he was feeling loads better than before. Plus he had practiced this moment TONS of times in front of the mirror. Not the walking into the Great Hall bit because he had been doing that for six years before, but the introducing himself to first years bit because that was always the hardest part.

So the seventh year made his way over to the Gryffindor table giving nods to Angel, Yoongi, and ... uh Adi did know this wasn't his table right? Well regardless, the Hufflepuff got a nod and a goofy smile too. And someone else was bound to tell him which direction the Badger table was in anyways. Plus, he'd been here long enough to learn to use context clues and all that. Poor confused, Adi. The boy probably forgot to rehearse this moment in the mirror. Amateur mistake. Good thing Zander practiced LOADS. Oh and "Hey, Marsha," Zander dropped himself off into a seat across from her, whilst also keeping an eye out for an empty one to save for Amur.

Now uh, for the first time ever Zander was gonna pay loads of attention to the sorting ceremony. And he'd probably try to take notes too. Yeah. That's what he was going to do. Notes. Parchment out and quill up the Gryffindor began scribbling.

What the heck? They all looked the same. All short and happy and LOUD.

No wonder he never tried to learn names the first night. This was impossible. Probably the hardest thing he'd have to do this term and he was taking NEWTs, remember???? Maybe he'd just go and actually talk to them. He quickly glanced down at his parchment trying to figure out which short person was which, before turning towards the new arrivals. That one had to be Ava. She had brown hair... And that one could be uh...... The Kettleburn one maybe? Please Merlin, don't let it be the Kettleburn one. Ahem. First years, "Welcome to Gryffindor!" Yeah forget the list, it was useless. "We're the best house around," griiiiiiiiin. Now would be a great time for them to remind him of their names. Stupid list was stupid.

... Maybe he could ask Flamsteed if they could dedicate some of the budget to nametags??? ... Did they even get a budget? This was very important business, okay?

RILEY WAS A RAVENCLAW.

Like, she had a house of her own now.

Wasn't it the best thing ever? She personally thought so. With a grin on her face, she went on over to what she thought might be the Ravenclaw table. Little did she know that it was the home of the lions and tigers.

She sat down next to maybe slightly older girl (Marsha) and grinned at her in a 'hello' kinda way.

Did that girl just shout at her? Yes.

Was it a threat? It sounded like that.

And was Ava scared? No.

Somebody had to stop that girl and she thought that it was the right thing to do. So.... better to ignore that loud annoying girl because she had promised to her mom not to cause any kind of trouble again.

"Hey there, Blaise!" She turned to the boy who was on the same boat at him. "Look, we're at the same house! Where's Bentley?" Because Blaised and Bentley seemed like they're always together. Maybe he's gonna be a Gryffindor too like them? Let's see.

Welcome to the Gryffindor, little ones!

The brunette girl looked at the older guy (Yoongi). "Thanks, and by the way who do you mean by the little ones?" Because she was NOT little. Okay, she's not really tall but it didn't mean that she's little. "I am Ava, what's your name?" She asked him.

And look! That's the Gryffindor's ghost, right? "You're name is too long to be remembered, Sir Nick." Zhenny and Dima had told her that actually the Gryffindor's ghost was more popular as Nearly-Headless Nick. So she's gonna stick with Nick, or Sir Nick brcause Nearly-Headless sounded so sad and morbid.

Did she just saw a Hufflepuff prefect came to her? Woah, a PREFECT. He did have the shiny badge pinned on his yellow-black school robes. "Thank you, you must be Adi something, right? My sister talked much about you." She took something from her pocket, her signature prank of course. "Do you want some gums, Mr. Prefect?" Cue mischievously grin.

And there she was. Candice, the girl who became her hockey table game partner. "We are in the same house, can you believe it?" Maybe not, but now here she was. "Maybe we can play again sometime." Maybe Hogwarts wouldn't have a hockey table, but Ava might figure something out to be played together with this fifth-year Gryffindor girl.

And Zeke too of course! "Zeke!" She waved frantically at him. This was gonna be awesome, her being a Gryffindor. And the only Gryffindor ever in a Burton family, she's gonna be remembered for Centuries. Ava couldn't wait to owl her parents and Dima and Zhenny too of course.

She spotted a tall guy with a badge on his robes. HEAD BOY... He's THE Head Boy. "Thank you there, Mr. Head Boy." And why he was scribbling something? Ava was curious about that. "It's not a class so you don't need to take a note or something like that. You want some gums, Mr. Head Boy?"

And of course that the gums she offered was the prank electric shock one.

CANDICE! Adi shot her a big grin the moment he saw her. He waved a hand dismissively at his House table. "Today I am a Gryffindor.'' Hehe. "Oh, come on Candice. I know you don't mind me visiting you guys.'' He couldn't resist teasing her. "Did you ever buy that magazine, by the way?'' The one from the Quidditch shop that had the guy on the cover that she had been admiring.

Adi waved back at Zeke when he caught the nod. "How's it going, Zeke? Ready for Gobstones?" Zeke was one of Adi's favourite opponents when it came to the game. He always put up a great fight and the seventh year appreciated that. Those were the best games to take part in... the ones full of competition.

There was the Head Boy! "Zander! Hiya, again!'' Don't mind him. He was just making his usual rounds to the House tables. He just had to stop by to greet his endless line of friends, you know. "How's the cruppie?" It's been ages since Adi heard about Azelea.

Eh? This girl(Ava) knew him? Adi tilted his head, trying to figure out if he knew her. "Your sister? Who would that be?'' there was a great degree of chance he knew who her sister was even if he hadn't spoken to this sister in a while. Ohh, gum! "Sure! Thanks!'' He held out his left hand to reach for one.

Yoongi began tapping the wooden table with his fingers and stared at the staff table. Many changes this year, he was glad that Defence man was still there though because he had some questions for him later. As he looked back at the other students he noticed Adi walking towards the Gryffindor table and taking a seat next to him. “Hey, nothing much, just being awesome like usual you know? cool to be back though. How’s it going with you? fought any spiders this summer” he asked before blurting out. “You do know that this is the Gryffindor table right? Yours is over there” he waved to the Hufflepuff table.

As he waved his hand to show Adi where his table was, the ghost of Gryffindor shot up through the middle of the table which was right in front of him and he screech in fright. “Don’t do thaaaat” he whined as he calmed himself down. “Had a nice quiet summer , Sir Nicholas?” he asked in a tone as if he had not been freaked out just a moment ago.

YO look who was Head Boy! Yoongi grinned at Zander as the seventh year gave a nod in his direction. “Congrats on the badge” he said , pointing to his chest. And ehm…he had long forgotten about the waterslide incident right? Just say yes…

Just then , one of the little ones spoke to him and Yoongi could not help but grin as he got up from his chair. He walked over to the girl called Ava and stood right in front of her, looking down. He then placed his elbow on top of her head and chuckled. “That’s why , little Ava. I’m Yoongi , if you have any questions just ask and I’ll try to help. Not much though, that guy over there is the Head Boy” he pointed to Zander. “For the really difficult questions you go to him” heh, sorry dude.

Fifth year coming through. Excuse me, pardon me... she needed to get to her house table. As she made her way over she noticed that it was already full. Perhaps this whole being on time thing was a phase? Probably so. Whatever. The food hadn't happened yet, and that was the important part. She watched all of the firsties get sorted. Merlin, it seemed like loads of new kids. KIDS. Yeah, AJ was a totally grown up fifth year. Maybe not so much grown up when you considered her choices, but she couldn't help that she was so much fun. It was a gift.

Anyways. It was time for social hour. Since she had been so late in arriving to the table, that had to wait. Marsha was the first one that she spotted. "Hey girl, heeeey." AJ was really excited to see the younger lion. It was as if during the battle of big mean spiders, they had bonded. Marsha was more than a friend. AJ considered her a little sister. A little sister that she would be keeping her eyes on. "Had a good summer?" Because those sort of things were important.

Lots of first years had gotten sorted into the lion house. Dora, Ava, and Blaise! Lucky lot they were. Bet they didn't even know how lucky they were. Gryffindor was the best house ever. AJ stood on her chair to get a better look at them. Yes. They seemed to be very promising. "Welcome to Gryffindor," she bellowed. Names! She needed them. It was hard to keep track. "If anybody is interested in being apart of a unicorn hunting party meet me in the common room after the feast." Yeah, she wasn't letting that go. Plus, her little message was meant for everybody. Anybody. Getting into the forest was going to be tricky though, but Zander was head boy which meant things. It did. "Hey, Zander." She had a memory like an elephant. Did he know? Well, to things that were important to her anyways. "Congrats on head boy. The badge looks really good on you." Should have been Adi's but no need to point that out, yeah? She casually hopped down from her seat and her eyes landed on someone that shared the same face as her.

Tears! Or tears had happened. AJ immediately knew something was off with Angel. Speaking of Angel... where was Benny? This was unusual. Wait a MINUTE. Did he? Was he? Is that why? Candice was with her sister though. Were they talking about it? "We need to talk," she said to Angel. "Hey, Candice! I hope your summer was well." She would leave the two of them alone for now. Just for now though.

Yoongi and Sir Nicholas were both there. "Evening gentleman." Don't know where that came from, but she was going to go with it. Oh, and she had almost missed Zeke. How could one almost miss Zeke? Who knows? "Sup, man?" They had some good times together.

Annnnd the boyfriend was here. Which made the whole missing Benny thing even weirder. "Hey you..." She knew his summer was good because she had spent a lot of it with him, Ilia and Henric.

Colt was busy making his rounds to see if anyone he knew from Durmstrang was at Hogwarts when he made his way to red colored table. He looked up and saw the lion symbol. Hmmm this might be Gryffindor. Correction it was Gryffindor. He saw a lot of students were here already compared to the Slytherins table. He walked up and down and saw only one person from another house was here. He didn't know him yet but he might hearing his friendly and bubbly personality.

As he turned his head, he noticed one girl looked familiar. He furrowed his brows trying to figure it out. He heard her name being called and it was Candice. Wait a minute no freaken way. She was in Durmstrang with his class. I guess she transferred. He cleared his throat and greeted her with, "Hey there Candice. I guess you didn't stay at Durmstrang either. Too boring for ya?"

This was it, the final feast. His final year. Nemo Grimm was ready to graduate today. Could he just get his diploma? Like could someone hand it to him? He could just turn around and take the train home.

But no. He had to work for it. Sigh.

Whatever. He would do just that. He took a seat at the table and looked around at his housemates. Some new faces. Most likely promising young lions. Some that he knew. He made a mental note to congratulate Zander since hearing the other boy had made Head Boy.

Nemo wasn't super close with Zander but he did like him. Now, where was Damien? Nemo couldn't start the term without his best mate.

Kaycee was debating going to sit at the Slytherin table. She could just go and sit next to Dante or Maggie. That would be nice. Or even Dot. She really wasn't sure how she was going to deal with this year. It would be hard.

Her eyes scanned the Ravenclaw table. Maybe she could go sit with Kyroh or Dima. They wouldn't mind.

Oh. Hey. There was Zeke. That would work. She slid into the seat next to him. "You look happy." she commented. She guessed he saw Maggie.

Abby stopped by the Gryffindor table for no reason at all she just wanted to talk and maybe make some more friends or talk to her sisters

Damien adjusted his robes, it was only really lately that he'd begun to see the beauty of not having to put a lot of thought into his clothes, something he was not going to admit to Professor Airey or Nemo or anyone else who had argued the case. The fabric was still terrible, that would never change in his mind,definitely not.

He didn't sit immediately, instead the tall boy stood near his House table, eyes moving over the Hall with more scrutiny than usual. This was his last Start of the Term feast and the urge to take it all in was too strong for the sentimental boy to dismiss. He was reminded, vividly of his first term as he watched the sorted first years running off to their respective house tables, their faces ether alight with elation or covered with a disappointment that they didn't even try to conceal. Damien had had such mixed emotions then, and for some many reasons, one because he'd been sure he wasn't a Gryffindor (something he still doubted) and two because Rowena Hazelwood had been placed elsewhere.

Back then all he'd wanted was for the two of them to stick together.

Damien daren't look to the Slytherin table, he was so sure that she would be there with her brightly colored hair and her perfect lying face. He wanted nothing to do with her and her lies and her psychotic episodes, and she'd never said it, not once had the words sorry slipped from her lips.

The Gryffindor cracked his jaw and took a seat, settling near Nemo without even realizing it. He had been meaning to speak with Zander an offer the boy another congratulations in person, but he seemed a little busy, and Damien wasn't sure he could properly express himself just then.

"Last Term, you ready, Grimmly?" Damien said, half turning to Nemo.

LOUD. That was the only way to describe the Gryffindor table just then. But, this time the yelling wasn't coming from her and it wasn't directed at the former Headmistress, both of which were good things. It also hopefully took the focus of the fact that, yet again, she had been running late and hadn’t had time to change into her uniform so that she stuck out like a sore thumb. Not that Heather minded. Someone needed to break the monotony around here.

Anyway, she plopped down at the table, away from the firsties, who seemed to be the source of most of the noise. She was a seventh year and would conduct herself as such. Which meant acting the opposite of the firsties. And also that everyone got a small, polite wave.
