| | |  Gobstones Preliminary Match: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin
 The building used for the Gobstones matches had had its doors closed against the late autumn morning chill. Its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Tanner and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's second preliminary match.
The red and green marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.
OOC: Remember only members sorted into Gryffindor and Slytherin Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping.
Read the Gobstones Rule book before playing and if you did last term, please check again for potential updates and changes.

Mr Kitridge walked in with his hands stuck in his coat pockets against the cold autumn morning air, the Arithmancy Professor had graciously set up the hall for the second match so Leo could focus on lighting the fireplaces and getting warmed up. On the way down from the castle he had seen the growing golden leaf piles under the trees.
As the teams assembled he put his wand to his mouth to enhance his whistle to get the players attention. "Good morning and welcome to the Gobstones club, today's our second game of the season, I hope you're all as excited and geared up as I am." Not waiting for any responses Leo quickly signalled for the teams to choose their representatives for the first shot of the game.
"Let's begin!"

The first roll of the match for the lion side was taken by first year Ava Burton, while another first year, Oliver Tate Thomas-Borzekowski, took Slytherin's turn. It was good to see new players! "Well done, you two!" she said encouragingly after they both took their turns. The red stone had landed closer, but neither marble had run into an obstacle, which was impressive.

Ava and Oliver remained for another attempt with the shooters. The two first years swung their shooters again and watched their stones roll down the court. The red stone picked up pace as it rounded a series of obstacles before it stopped. In expectation everyone waited for the gob that did not come. The green stone surpassed its opponent and two more obstacles for the points.
"2 points to Slytherin!" Leo announced from the sideline.

After a short break Ava returned for the lions while the snakes sent in Cilla Ashcroft. The two girls swung their shooters and kicked at their stones. The green stone only managed to round one obstacle before it abruptly stopped and sprayed up a gush of gob at headed straight for the viewing area. The red stone surpassed its opponent and a series of obstacles before it stopped for the points.
