He knew perfectly well that he did not stand a high change of winning against the Auror in this duel. But that was exactly why he had challenged the man. He wanted to see how an duel against an Auror was without…you know…becoming a criminal. He was more nervous than when he had duelled the other students. His mind wasn’t set on winning the duel , though if he did miraculously won he wouldn’t mind and he would BRAG about it for the rest of his two years here, he had his mind set on trying to get one of his spells to even hit the man. Yeah…starting from the bottom…

Dressed in his battle uniform, the Gryffindor smiled brightly at the Professor before bowing politely. "I want to say good luck but i think i'll be the one who needs that" he laughed and then he lifted his phoenix feathered wand up and shouted. “Everte Statum !”

He probably should have felt somewhat bad about how much he was looking forward to this duel. Truth was, however, that he didn't. Not one lick. Hyland had been an interesting character in the club and in his own duels. He was dreadfully curious when the boy managed to get up the gumption to challenge him to a duel.

Somewhat less surprised when the kid didn't tell him to take it easy, or not. So, open season on the Hyland then? Sabel twirled his wand as he moved into position, doing the formal bow. One eyebrow quirked up at the comment and a smile pressed firmly onto his lips. He offered no reply, just a look. A knowing look.

The start of the duel was slightly less abrupt than he had expected it to be. A wince stole across his expression, and he made a mental note. These kids needed to learn a non-verbal or two. He could teach them everything in the world there was about dueling, but if they kept announcing to the world what their casts were, it would be game over in split seconds.

Snapping his wand up, Sabel quickly cast a non-verbal protego spell, deflecting the throw-back spell right at it's caster. He didn't let up, shooting off two bombarda's, one to either side of the kid. Down the center of that dangerzone, he lined up the most dangerous spell of all....

"Anteoculatia!"

That was, dangerous to Yoongi and his hair.

It didn’t came as a surprise that the first spell he had casted had been deflected by the Professor. What had been a surprise was that his own spell was racing back towards him and the Gryffindor sidestepped to the left quickly to avoid his own spell. But once he did so, a loud blast sounded a few steps away from the place he had stepped to and he was so extremely shocked that he didn’t have time to scream. He did however use his instinct and shuffled away from the blast before another blast came from his other side.

It was his own shock that he tripped over his own feet and fell unceremoniously on his behind. WHAT WAS HE PLAYING AT?! Was he trying to trap him or something? WHAT?! And then he did hear the Professor’s voice shouting an incantation he was not familiar with. He lifted up his wand , ready to defend himself but was too late. The spell hit him right in the face……HIS FACE!

Panicking in his mind, the sixth year touched his face with his free hand and realized that it was still smooth. If it wasn’t his face then what had happened to him? He got up on his feet and stumbled a bit to the left. His head felt heavy and with widened eyes he touched his hair, only it wasn’t flat on his head, it stood upright and he had the feeling he knew what had happened .'I HAVE ANTLERS?! …does it look cute though?' That was the real question of course.

But then it dawned on him what the Professor had done to him and he glared at him. No one touched his hair without permission! He casted a Jelly-fingers-curse at him in the hope he would drop the wand and then followed it with another verbal spell “Obscuro!” to try and cast a blindfold over his eyes before he swiftly made a line to the side and a flick forward with his phoenix wand and casted a non-verbal ‘Persequoris!’ right at him. Just the homing spell alone, no combination. He needed to get rid of these antlers cause they were annoying.

For one terrifying moment, Sabel thought the kid was gonna waltz right into the blasting spells. Right into them. He almost shouted at the boy, but took to internally shouting against himself a berratment of scolding. He had to remember that these kids weren't exactly on par with his dueling experience, and while he had not intended to cause harm, it was just as likely that an accident could happen. Or a wander waltz.

Surprisingly, however, the kid just ended up on his bottom, with a rather nice pair of antlers. For a moment, Sabel just blinked at the boy, rather surprised it had worked. And, admittedly, becoming more amused by the moment at the expression that was taking over the boy's face. Hey, at least he hadn't cast a spell to rid him of his hair?

Antler-Yoongi was slightly distracting though, and Sabel had just enough sense to side-step the first cast and toss up a quick, verbal, defensive shield against the other, sending it right back to the kid. The third spell, admittedly, escaped his perception, the wand movement mixing in with the others and his mind really not comprehending that maybe a non-verbal would come from the boy.

The pain that sparked from it was enough to snap his attention fully to, with an underhanded curse of surprise. Perhaps the boy wasn't being careless. Perhaps it was an act. He really didn't know with this one, but regardless, he'd be careful not to underestimate the kid again.

Finding his mark on the antlers again, largely because they were rather distracting, Sabel twisted and cast a non-verbal herbifors with the tag utterance of a flowering vine. If he could make vines grow from the antlers, or perhaps the antlers into vines, he might just be able to trip the kid up. And if that wasn't enough of a distraction, Sabel kept moving. A "Bombarda!" was cast between the two of them at the ground, sending up a shower of rock and rubble, half of which quickly turned into a flock of birds with the avifors incantation. A flock of birds that launched themselves, among the remaining rubble, with a verbal oppungo in all their angry bird glory, right at Yoongi.

Birdies want a perch.

Yoongi became more and more frustrated as his attacks weren’t doing anything to the Professor. Of course, he knew why that was but still! The Gryffindor quickly ducked from his own spell as it was send back by the shield charm the Professor had used and then when he looked at him again he realised that his non-verbal spell had worked.

IT HAD ACTUALLY WORKED! HE WAS THE BEST EVER WOOHOO~ That’s what you get for messing with his hair HA! He was so going to brag about this when this duel was over muwahaha---whatta?!

While he had been amused that his trick had worked, he hadn’t realised that the Professor had non-verbally managed grow flowering vine from the antlers on his head. Did he expected him to freak out about that? Come on! Flowers were pretty! HE was pretty! do the math! AHEM...They were rather distracting though… But his attention went back when he heard another loud blast in front of him and Yoongi yelped when a second later a flock of birds were launched towards him.

He could do with the flowers but not the birds! He had had this spell used on him before and it had hurt! “Protego!” he shouted and waved his wand just in time to form the shield and the birds hit it. Then he pointed his wand again and verbally send a few purple firecrackers his way and followed it up with a non-verbal ‘levicorpus!’

He was trying, trying so desperately hard to be good and not laugh. Trying so utterly hard. But the kid's headdress just kept getting more and more elaborate. The stranger thing was, he was doing nothing about it. Granted, there was enough distraction coming towards him at every moment that he really couldn't be blamed for letting it linger. Or perhaps he liked it?

Either way, Sabel wasn't about to let an opportunity for a lesson go to waste. As the boy conjured up his Protego shield spell, Sabel sent a non-verbal water spell at Yoongi's vine-covered antlers. Which, meant that they were both casting spells at the same time.

The crossover was a bit dizzying, and the hopping crackers didn't help. There was no time to discard his spell and throw up a shield, and even trying to dance to the side didn't help. The firecrackers popped around him, making him jump and flinch with the sparks and the bits of biting pain.

But it was the non-verbal spell he wanted to really avoid, the movement which ticked off a memory of something having to do with his feet off the ground and upside down. Both of which were a definite NOPE in his mind. While it took him straight into a few more hopping crackers, Sabel dived out of the way of the levicorpus spell, rolling onto his stomach and throwing out his own final cast of the non-verbal freezing charm. Wherever that water had ended up, he wanted to make it frozen and heavy.

The Gryffindor lowered his shield when he thought he was safe from the attacking birds. Something that had been a mistake because he hadn’t realised that the Professor had casted another non-verbal spell at him. Before he could react, the water hit the antlers on his head and he looked in surprise at the Professor. Had he missed or was it his plan to hit the antlers? What for though? To make the vines grow faster?

Now he thought about it, if these vines did grow further he would be trapped but before he could think of a spell that could make vines and antlers disappear, he was distracted again by the man diving out of the way from his levicorpus spell and had rolled on to his stomach. Realising that a wand was pointed at him, Yoongi shouted “Prote—“ but it was too late.

He felt the water that dripped from the antlers and on to the floor freeze. The headdress had been heavy at first but now that it had a chunk of ice on it, it was too much. Yoongi tried to keep upright but the heavy feeling on his head and the water that had dripped on the floor caused him to slip and he fell down on his back.

“Stop stop!” he shouted as he stared at the ceiling, waving his hands in the air. He was tired and couldn’t find a way out of this state without sending his own hair on fire…and that was not what he wanted. “You win” he gasped. “I give up… please remove these ridiculous antlers , please!......but….” he said. “Leave the flowers , they look good in my hair” he was serious.
