Brian was very confused. He was fairly certain that he was on the third floor, but the rooms looked just a little unfamiliar as he entered the part of the corridor that he knew led to the boys bathroom. Okay, he was at least fairly certain that it led to the boys bathroom. Seriously. He'd been here for over a year and he still was never sure which floor the moving staircase had deposited him on. It didn't seem to have moved while he was climbing, though, so this was definitely where he was supposed to go.

Thing was, when he pushed through the door with his shoulder, he was met face-to-face with the fact that he was most definitely not in the boys' bathroom. "Oh, bugger."

Clara was only human.

Humans needed to do toilet-y things. Ergo she was in the bathroom.

What she didn't expect to find in the girl's bathroom when she came out the stall was a little first year (by the looks of it) boy. She stopped dead in her tracks and stared at him. Why hadn't he already scampered? "Uh, wrong bathroom, kid," she informed him, moving over to the mirror on the wall. Clara was trying to keep her cool/not embarrass him/not show that she was embarrassed.

This was sort of an invasion of privacy. Shoo.

Brian's eyes widened and his ears turned a little red. Oh, gosh. He hadn't expected someone to be IN HERE. Good gosh. Golly. Crikey, what was he going to do.

"Uh, right. Sorry. What floor is this?" In other words, how far away was the right bathroom? He wasn't very into the idea of walking up more than three flights of stairs. Not his thing. Also not very convenient.

Bless him. Clara looked at him using the mirror's reflection, noting that he seemed to be going an unflattering shade of red. She'd shaken off her own embarrassment now and was just embarrassed on his behalf. She fixed her red lipstick and fluffed up her hair a little before turning to answer him. "We're on the second floor."

"Do you need help getting somewhere?" The boy's bathroom, for example?

Which she would not enter.

Honestly, Tia wasn't sure about this whole experimental potions idea but at least with an older student, it should be safe, right? With her flask of potion stored safely in her shoulder bag, the fifth year slipped cautiously into the girl's bathroom. It seemed appropriate to be testing potions out in the loo, particularly the one on the second floor.

Now just to wait for the female lion prefect to show up as they had arranged.

In the meanwhile, Tia reviewed her potions notes, studying the effects and wondering how similar it would be compared to textbook. At least if something went terribly awry, they weren't far from the hospital wing.

The potion was in her bag, well, the potion and some of the base….you know if Tia got too happy or you know whatever emotion it was that Tia brewed for her got too overwhelming. Sure she had been in classes with her before but she hadn’t really ever talked to Tia and…well, she hoped she wasn’t a total seahag of a girl today.

That, and maybe Myrtle would give them some space…but please, she’d probably ask them about all the attractive boys. Sometimes Myrtle was a total creeper.

“Hey,” Puck smiled over to Tia as she walked into the bathroom and saw the girl. She looked nice – no wonder Zander was friends with her. “Tia right?” She asked even though she was sure it was her, “I’m sorry I never really had time to really meet you and get to know you last term…Zander’s said nice things though” she mentioned and grinned. Because Zander was a good judge of character. Really he had to be he was her friend.

"So...what emotion did you do?" Puck asked as she pulled the violently pink vile of potion out of her bag. If it were a movie, it would be a barbie movie.

It wasn't long before she heard the bathroom door swing open and Tia smiled at the familiar sight of Puck. Though she didn't really know the girl too well, other than her being gryffindor prefect, Tia was rather looking forward to working with her because of that. Not knowing about someone before a test was definitely a way to get unbiased feedback on the results. She had literally no idea what to expect.

"Hey, yup, Tia." But when the girl mentioned Zander, Tia wasn't sure what to think. He's said nice things; so what did that mean? He'd been toying with her emotions? He's just overtly friendly? "Not to worry. We've got plenty of time to make that up. With the many students at Hogwarts, can't expect to meet everyone in one year..." Tia mused, choosing to not say anything about her co-prefect. Some things were better left unsaid.

Potions time. Removing the white vial of potion from her bag, she handed it over to the sixth year. "Fear. So I reckon we just trade and drink up...?" Now if only she could remember what pink potion meant... otherwise, she'd just be surprised. For the temporary change in emotions.

The good ole' bathroom. Eden didn't need the loo or anything, she just wanted to wash her hands after being down in Herbology. She had grime and dirt under her fingernails...normally she didn't care, but she was about to go eat and whatnot. So. Here she was. And she had to rush upstairs to grab a book she was studying from.

Eden was behaving like a true Ravenclaw right now. Doing homework during her lunch.

HMPH.

She turned the tap on and let the water run for a minute, waiting for it to warm up....because it was getting CHILLLLLLY.

It was inevitable.

As soon as you got into a good rhythm of marking essays, that's when it always hit. You're finally making progress after putting off the odious task for as long as possible when it happens. Nature. Calls.

That was what brought Tiara to the loo around the corner from her office on this cold and damp day. It was rare to find anyone else in here, especially in the middle of the day like this with most people in the Great Hall. So it was that Tiara was pleasantly surprised to see someone, and a Ravenclaw at that. "Miss McGee, fancy meeting you here. How are you?"

Running into one of your professors in the loo: awkward.

Running into one of your professors who is ALSO involved in your house: SUPER AWKWARD.

Eden did her best to smile and not blush, but she only managed to smile and MAJORLY blush. "I'm okay. just. Dirty hands. I had to wash them--" she waved one wet and drippy hand at Professor Tanner.

..was she here to USE the bathroom? Eden didn't want to...distract her...this was so weird and AWKWARD. The brunette didn't know what else to say...so she just started...whistling....

Whistling.

Clearly the veteran Ravenclaw was feeling a bit uncomfortable with the situation. Tiara had never understood girls and their bathroom quirks: why was it that they didn't like others listening, and yet they insisted upon going in pairs? Or why would you waste resources running the tap on full blast just to cover the noise? Relieving oneself as a natural and necessary process to one's health, after all. It was nothing to be embarrassed about.

But she digressed.

Tiara glanced at the water in the girl's sink, which was definitely more brown than clear. "Ah, I see you've been in Herbology, then," she nodded. And if not, well, there was a ready-made excuse for her poor hygiene. The woman held back a chuckle once Eden started whistling. Poor thing. "Well done in the last Gobstones game. Player of the match is an honor!"she said, trying to ease the girl's tension.

Eden nodded, wishing she had something to help scrub under her nails with. She would have to do with just...picking at them. Kinda' gross, but she thought it was necessary. She was on her second round of soap, though.

She should just go take a bath or something.

She stopped whistling when Professor Tanner approached, and Eden smiled at her words. "I've never taken an interest in gobstones before this year, too--but I actually really enjoyed it--goo in face and all!" she said brightly. "And oh...well..thanks." She was blushing quite fiercely.

The extra attention...was nice, but Eden felt a little...she never knew how to take compliments.

"I'm glad we're going to the championship...right?" she thought so. "I'm so happy--gosh--we need to get our points up! I'm trying to HARD--" she said, sounding mildly frustrated.

It seemed like Eden just kept scrubbing but was meeting with little success. "Normally I condone good, old-fashioned soap and water. But for stubborn issues like this, you may be looking at Scourgify." The girl was accomplished enough that Tiara didn't need to perform the charm for her.

Good, the Gobstones topic seemed to help. "I'm glad you found something you enjoy! Really it is sad, because most people end up enjoying the game. They're just reluctant to try it in the first place because it's 'not cool' or some rubbish like that." She'd never understood the stigma even during her own days as a student. "Yes, you're headed to the championship versus Hufflepuff," she said with evident pride. At least they were tops at something this year.

Apparently Eden had a similar line of thinking. "The effort your classmates are putting in does seem to be less than stellar this year." She had already had several conversations with Leobald and Anastasia about this very topic. "And I know it must be frustrating for someone like you that is putting in such effort. Do you have any ideas to help turn the tide a bit?"

Puck grinned over to Tia when she said it was probably easy not to meet everyone in one year, “yeah…I haven’t met all of the gryffindors but then again new flocks of them come in every year and yeah…loads of new faces can be overwhelming” she shrugged but grinned over to her. “Fear? Aw, I wish I made something that fun I tried happiness…but I don’t know if I was happily laughing or laughing like a deranged sociopath and forcing it?” She shrugged.

“I did bring some of the base potion if we needed to get it out of our systems” she nodded as she reached into her bag and pulled out the vile of bright pink liquid. “it kind of looks like I melted barbie’s dream house” she shrugged, “or what you’d think Barbie’s tears would look like…pink and almost obnoxiously so” she chuckled and placed the vile against the sink.

“So fear? This should be interesting,” she grinned even if she could feel her nerves rising. Fear. She’d worked so hard not to feel that for so long.

"I might have to--magic still isn't the first thought in my head--" she smiled over at Tanner. "Because mam's a muggle and all--" and her father had been not really around much in her childhood. A days out of the month, here and there. So she always...reverted to the muggle ways of doing things, usually. She would try more with soap, though...

She scrubbed and scrubbed.

Merlin, what had they WORKED with today?!

"Whee. Okay, good. I'm nervous--but I'll definitely be there!" she smiled over at her, again. She liked Professor Tanner, she did. She was nice and encouraging.

..Ugh. Don't get Eden started. She scowled. "I feel like FOOD might do it, Merlin." She was highly annoyed that her classmates were being so LAZY LAZE this term. HER LAST TERM HERE. It was a tragedy. "I think bribing with food always works. OR...." She felt her answer had been dumb. "I don't know...it seems POINTS doesn't work, though."

Ravenclaw did need some extra......rewards, it seemed.

Penelope needed to get a book for her next class from her dorm, but Ravenclaw tower was at least five of six floors up, and it could take a long time to get there from here, depending on how cooperative the staircases were and how difficult the riddle was. She needed to use the loo, and as much as she disliked using the loo with Myrtle around, when you gotta go you gotta go. Even with Myrtle it was better than not being able to answer the riddle and really needing the loo.

When Penelope entered the bathroom she noticed that Eden and Professor Tanner were already there standing by the sinks. ”Hello Professor Tanner.” It wasn’t uncommon to see professors in the loo, especially when that professor’s office was just down the hall from here. ”Hi Eden. Congratulations on player of the match.” It wasn’t a time when lots of girls were in the bathroom, so there were plenty of open stalls. The best times to use the loo were when there weren’t very many people in the bathroom so you wouldn’t have to queue for the loo. Now if she wasn't being dragged into a conversation about gobstones or whatever it was that they had been talking about, she was going to use the loo. Penelope walked over to the stalls and entered one that wasn’t too close to the one where Myrtle was usually found.

She was glad she hadn't performed the spell now, since it seemed Eden was determined to persevere. I admire your perseverance, then![/B]" she said heartily. "And I understand where you are coming from with the instincts. I was even worse, not coming to Hogwarts until fourth year. If you are anything like I was, in a few years you'll look back and not even know when your wand became an extension of your hand." Most muggleborn students went through the experience, or at least that was her guess.

But enough of that. "Good, Mr. Kitridge and I will see you there for sure, then!" And hopefully even more of her classmates than last match would be with her? But before she could say anything about that, another eagle entered the room. "Hello, Miss Wright. I haven't seen you around lately for some reason." And... she would normally ask how her term was going, but not right after the girl had gone into a stall. Awkward.

So back to Eden. "Food.." Tiara actually wasn't sure what to make of that suggestion. Was it a serious option, or was she merely being sarcastic? "Well I think bribery should definitely be avoided," she said with a wink. That was a safe answer, yes? "And no, points do not seem to be an effective motivational tool." She sighed. "I guess we'll just have to keep thinking on it."

And hadn't she come in here for a reason? "Now if you'll excuse me a moment, I have some business to attend to.." Following Penelope's example, she cossed to the other side of the room and entered a stall.

When Penelope came out of the stall, she walked over to the sinks on the opposite side of the room to wash her hands. It looked like Eden was still here, but Professor Tanner... Oh. Glancing up at the mirror, she noticed a spider on the mirror. Spiders were not that uncommon around here, and she wasn't really afraid of spiders or anything like that. She had seen quite a few in random places recently. Or maybe there weren't any more than usual and she just felt like there were more because she had noticed more of them in places like her dorm. Was shesupposed to talk to Eden? Penelope felt like she should say something, but she had no idea what to say. What kinds of things did people talk about? Penelope had never been very social and didn't talk a lot. Um... She had already said hi to Eden, and she had no idea what to say after that. "How's the therm going for you Eden?"

Having disappeared into the stall, she noted that Penelope was now back out. And that the two girls were not really talking. Tiara knew they weren't exactly best friends, but she was glad they did at least know how to create small talk. She finished what she had come to do, but noted that she had just used up the toilet paper roll. Score!

Coming back out now, she held the empty roll in her hand. "Eden, be a dear and hold this for me, will you?" Not waiting for a response, she placed the empty container in her hand. "For the art nook," she said simply, turning the tap and wincing at the cold water. Better scrub quickly!

"Penelope, can I tempt you into playing in the next gobstones match?" she asked, picking up the previous thread of conversation.

Flocks of Gryffindors... wasn't that the truth? It seemed like for every one new Eagle, Gryffindor house gained like 10 new members. Clearly there were lots of brave and chivalrous youngsters. "Except Lions don't flock. Eagles do," Tia grinned. "And honestly I hope it works... basically we're just supposed to simulate the emotion or something and it wears off after some time..."

Happiness. Well Merlin knew she could use some of that these days.

Ironic she was giving a Gryffindor a vial of fear. "Bottoms up, i reckon." She mused, taking the bright pink vial and removing the stopper. Only she had the distinct feeling one swallow would do the trick. Which was exactly what she did as she poured some of the liquid carefully into her mouth, tilting her head back like so. This was definitely a trust exercise of ones peers in that they brewed correctly. But Puck was a Prefect and a sixth year, so she should be safe, yes?

Eden wiggled her fingers over the sink to examine them a bit. Well. They certainly looked cleaner, yeah? She looked up at Penelope at the sound of her name. What? Oh. "Term is okay..I'm sad it's my last term. But also happy. It's quite confusing..." Which, it was. Because she seemed to be happy to be here, but also sad. And when she went home, she'd be happy to be home but sad she wasn't here....so. Yeah.

"What about yours?" She asked her housemate.

Oh. Eden held the paper roll and raised an eyebrow, wondering...oh. The art nook. Right. "Oh--I tried talking to Truebridge about recycling bins--" this...using of the rolls for the art nook had reminds her. "But I'm not sure she likes me very much..not enough to listen." She tried to sound.....reaaaally innocent to Professor Tanner...maybe SHE could make that happen. "I just think we waste so much paper....and stuff..." It made her SAD.

GOBSTONES. Eden beamed. "YES PENELOPE! You should COME! We can totally WIN IT I KNOW WE CAN!" She was flailing.

Brrrrrrr. Really, with this much magical power in one building, you'd think they could manage to at least have warm water. No matter, it was just momentary discomfort, that was all. Except.. she was shivering almost uncontrollably.

But Eden's statement took her mind off of her unease. "Recycling?" That was quite a muggle idea, but certainly not a bad one. "Interesting. I may ask Anastasia about that myself." It was true that the Headmistress could be a bit cold at times, but often that was just her being blunt and some misinterpretation. "I was actually planning on walking by there soon, I think I'll run that by her if she's free!"

She finished drying her hands quickly. "Have a good day, ladies!" she said excitedly, hurrying out of the bathroom. Yes, she had completely forgotten about the toilet paper tube.

No way was Kate casting on anything in or near the Headmistress' office. Nor the Chamber of Secrets. She'd go as far as the sinks in the girls bathroom, and then that was it. She was heading out after that, and this homework assignment would be done. Kate strolled into the bathroom and headed straight up to the sinks. She approached the faucet of one and automatically began to picture it as blue as the items she'd changed before.

She lifted her wand and pointed it toward the silver faucet. Blue faucet. No more silver. "Colovaria!" she said. For some reason, her first attempt didn't work. Ugh... She'd done this four times before in the past hour. Why was she failing at it now? Kate dropped her wand by her side and focused on the faucets being blue once again. "Colovaria!" she said again, pointing her wand forward.

This time, the silver began to be washed over by a blue color. "Colovaria!" Kate said again. She breathed a sigh of relief when the faucets were finally the blue she imagined. Putting her wand back into her holster, Kate left the bathroom and headed back to the seventh floor.
