The fifth year was in an amazing mood today. It felt so great to be back at Hogwarts and to be honest she was getting bored with being home and even hanging out with friends. Diagon Alley and other places just weren't as fun as it was suppose to be in the summer. Emmylou walked around the the grounds, she was in a much better mood right now compared to last term because last term was horrible for her with all the family drama that she was dragged into but right now she was going to enjoy the amazing weather for as long as she could and be outside for as long as she could before it go cold because she for one was not a fan of the winter. The snow was so beautiful but the temperature was just so horrible and cruel. Emmylou wore her new jean button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the middle of her elbows, she had the shirt tucked into her white skirt with some bright blue polka dots on it and yellow flats to match. The blonde had a muggle book in her hand as she walked towards the giant treehouse. The book was Peter Pan her favorite book in the whole wide world. She loved other muggle books and of course wizarding books but she was taken to another world when she would read or even watch Peter Pan. Emmylou walked around slowly as she opened the book and started to read, she didn't want to sit down but she knew for one that she would have to watch where she was going.

Margo couldn't believe this was her life now!! She was at Hogwarts, the feast was over and she was free to roam the grounds to her hearts content...assuming she wasn't in classes that is. She ran around like a crazy person, zig zagging in all directions looking and touching everything in her path. She was having the best time of her life, and she hoped this was never going to end. That's when she spotted the tree house. Holy Hippogriffs it was amazing. Margo feel in love with it the second she had seen it.

That's when she also noticed a girl anything out by it as well. "Well Hello there!" Margo cried to the girl coming up to her. "Have we met before? You seem familiar to me" Margo said trying to place whether or not she knew this person. She had met so many people on the train and at the feast she was really having a hard time trying to keep it all together.

Kace made his way to the treehouse and was just excited to be exploring Hogwarts. He was happy to be back and just take in the fresh air. He thought just be walking around he could bump into someone. As he walked to his favorite place the treehouse, he saw blonde hair out of the corner of his eye. He smirked and wondered who it could be. He took a few steps back and saw his beautiful girlfriend sitting up in the house reading a book. He squinted his eyes and couldn't see what the title was. Hmmm....let's climb up and investigate and maybe he could scare her? Yeah scaring her could be fun.

He smirked to himself yet again and climbed up the ladders very quietly. He was a master of it because he still has a treehouse back in Kansas. It is like a tradition everyone should go in the treehouse before they leave his house. He even wrote his name in it back when he was five. He chuckled at the memory and crept silently and then put his arms around Emmy and raspberries her cheek. "I got youuuuu...." he smiled and kissed her lips.

As he greeted his girlfriend he noticed a girl that looked familiar. Hmmm where did he meet her before? He racked his brains and thought MARGO! She was the newbie he met. "Hey Margo." he smiled and greeted her while still having his arms wrapped around Emmy.

Margo was shocked when a boy (Kace) popped out of no where. Jeez, did he know a secret way down to the tree house. It seemed like it took him no time at all to appear. It didn't bother Margo one bit that there was more company to interact with. The more the merrier in her opinion. And as she got close she realized it was Kace, she had met him earlier at the feast. He was a puffer too!

And then as Margo drew even closer......wait what.....oh yuck, did he just snog her???? Oh gross......icky....no way....... Margo turned her head away and hoped that snogging was over.

"Get a room!" She shot across at the pair of them. Who actually wanted to kiss boys...that was suppose to be for in the movies! Okay, Margo was passed the whole boys have cooties stage, but they were still BOYS for Merlin's Sake.

Focus. Don't look at the treehouse. Focus. Reading. STOP LOOKING AT THE BEAUTIFUL TREEHOUSE! Reading. Nope, that wasn't going to happen. Emmylou closed her book because her brain couldn't focus because it was such an amazing day out and this treehouse seemed very different from before but then again she never really spent that much time here and she really wished she had because this was one amazing treehouse. Emmylou tucked her bangs behind both of her ears because they kept poking her eyes. The blonde's head turn towards a voice that cried up towards her. "Hello." Emmylou said loudly, her twang in her accent really made her sound out of place when she talked loudly. Emmylou waved at the girl. Emmylou shrugged. "I'm not sure, maybe on the train or at the feast?" Emmylou asked. She had seen a lot of new students this term, first years and transfers included. "I'm Emmylou Duchannes." She smiled brightly before being attacked by something on her cheeks and then being kissed by who she hoped was her boyfriend. Emmylou blinked two or three times before looking at her boyfriend and then blushing before she looked at the girl. "Hey Kace." She said with a cheery voice.

Kace didn't realize there was a first year present. If he would have known he would have done a little less PDA but then again this was Emmy he was talking about. He didn't care if he embarrassed himself he brushed it off. He chuckled at her comment and kissed Emmy's cheek one more time before responding. "I mean I could go back to my bedroom but I like it here much better. I like the great outdoors." he winked at Margo. "Sooner or later you are gonna like boys just wait.." he smirked at the little first year.

He heard Emmy say his name and grinned. "Whyy hello Emmy. I see you are reading your favorite Peter Pan." he pointed to the book she was holding. "Was I too distracting for you?" he asked.

"Don't hold you breath on the boys thing!" Margo teased Kace. She was glad she got to see him again though, it was nice to see a familiar face out in the real world of Hogwarts. Hopefully she wouldn't get lost out here. "How did you get out her so face?' She asked the hufflepuff boy. "It took my ages to find my way down here, and frankly I'm not so sure I can get back!" She said, trying to remember which turns she made on her way out here.

"Well in any case it's nice to meet you Emmylou. I'm Margo" Margo told the girl holding her hand out for a shake. She was sure they had to have meet somewhere else as well. Her face was so familiar. "What are you reading?" Margo asked. It looked to her like it was a muggle book. Growing up Margo had read them all the time. With her father being a muggle and all, she always though she fit in well with both worlds.

Emmylou beamed at the younger student. She looked new here but too young to be a transfer from any other magical school. This girl had to be a first year. "It's really nice to meet you Margo. Are you a first year?" Emmylou asked while giving the girl a warm friend smile, it was her thing. There wasn't really a time when the fifth year wasn't smiling and it was a good thing because that means that she wasn't sad which wasn't totally true, she just wasn't sad right now or this week. Emmylou showed Margo the cover of the book. "It's only my most favorite book ever, Peter Pan." The blonde beamed.

Emmylou turned her attention over to her boyfriend once she was done saying what she was talking to Margo about. "I haven't read it in a long time." It felt like forever since she had read it. She shook her head. "No, you didn't, Kace. The beauty of the treehouse distracted me." Yeah! The only time Kace distracted her was during class and she wasn't going to say that out loud for him to hear because he didn't need to know that valuable information.

Kace chuckled and smirked at Margo's comment. "I will be laughing and saying I told you so when you get your first boyfriend. You just wait. I mean Emmy here dated me in her third year.." he shrugged and winked at her. Now how did he get here so fast? He puckered his lips and said, "Well I have super speed you see. I am like the Flash and can get here so fast." he teased her a bit but here was his real answer. "Well I always love exploring the castle so I know a thing or two where places are. I love finding shortcuts." Nothing wrong with that? Plus he loved climbing treehouses back at home so he knew a thing or two about climbing tree houses. "Aww you will find your way back don't worry. If you are too worried I could help you out." he offered. He wouldn't let a little firstie wander by herself.

Now his attention back on his lion girlfriend. "Aahh yeah I give up on reading in this place. I am more focused on the outdoors and such. I mean our first kiss was on the lake." he smirked at Margo but he did make his point. The outdoors brought him great memories. What a pity the treehouse only distracted her. "Aww man well I guess I can't be compared to a tree house huh?" he joked just a bit.

Then he had an idea and he grabbed a bean bag chair and told Emmy.."Hold still..." and he got his pencils out of his bag and his sketchbook and began to draw her and possibly Margo.

Marigold was loooounging. La la la. It was a nice day, she had put off homework for later, and was LOVING THE FEELING. The zephyr blew her magically-straightened hair back behind her slightly raised shoulders. This must be the life.

"Petter Pan is a good one!" Margo cried to Emmylou. She loved her childhood books as well. All though, she must admit she did enjoy the Disney movie versions as well. After all 11 years old wasn't too old to believe in the magic of it all. "My father is muggle." Margo explained to Emmylou. "So we have a home in the muggle world, he works as lawyer. So I'm familiar with all the tales and stories." Margo couldn't believe she was telling them all this. They probably wanted her to just bail and leave them alone. That's what couples wanted...wasn't it? She was being rude and intruding.

Margo turned toward Kace. "There year? No way!" Margo teased the couple in front of her. She was having a blast out here. And making new friends was probably one of her favorite things to do in the whole world. "Okay, I might have to take you up on the offer to find my way back to our common room. It's like a maze in there!" Margo pointed toward the big castle that was looming behind her. She was in love with it already, and felt more like home than her real one did. There her brother hated her, there her father ignored her. Here....none of that!

"Did you guys want me to go?" Margo asked sound just a little sad. "It's okay if you do...."

Emmylou nodded and was very happy to hear that someone shared a similar interest in books and some muggle things. "My dad and I and sometimes my mom when she's there live in the muggle world and so do my grandparents but they have a farm and so much land. It's so beautiful! You should visit sometime." Emmy smiled brightly and nodded.

Emmylou looked over at Kace and smiled at him. "I'd rather be outdoors than reading a book and that's saying something because I really love reading." Emmylou giggled at herself. Emmylou looked over at the lake and nodded because she remembered that very clearly. "This treehouse is just so amazing."

It was a nice day, actually, and Oleander had no issues with the tree house. He knew the grounds were charmed, so the only possible way to get hurt was with hexes and the like. No one will be using them on him, so he was more than safe. And carrying Hemlock around his wrist assured him good luck, no doubt.

On top of this being a nice day, they were shooting some sort of commercial for hair products nearby, apparently. Only not really, it was just a Prefect. They did that quite often. "Enjoying the spare time before the year gets hectic?" He meant dramatic, but chose to go with a different word. Considering the feast, however, the year was already filled with drama.

Finally, some peace and quiet.

Gregoire could finally get away to a decent place for some peace and quiet. He could relax and let his mind go at ease! Possibly he could forget about the events of the start of term feast. Hopefully the French Snake could forget about it. Though, the wounds he got afterwards weren't making it easy. With these wounds Gregoire would have a hard time forgetting. The throbbing pain of his eye. The soreness from the bruise on his cheek. Agonizing pain from an almost broken nose. A burning sensation from the nail marks on his hands. Grrr.

Well, at least in the Treehouse Gregoire could just get away from all the drama. Walking up to the door of it, the dirty blonde breathed in the fresh outdoor air. Looking around to see if anyone was near on the outside, he put his hand on the door. Pushing it open he saw three people inside. Shocked and nervous, Gregoire stumbled to say "I- umm. Didn't realize-" He coughed from just being startled at this. "-anyone was- was in here. Desole." The Slytherin finished.

A great past time. Since classes actually hadn't started and Chance had some free time, he wanted to spend it outside in the open. Since the tree house was one of the places that Chance liked to go but didn't really get to go because of the crowds, he decided to make his way there now. Surely there wouldn't be a lot of students there this day in the morning.

Clearing the last step, Chance looked around. Only one or two students here. Not too shabby. Chance smiled at the ones and made his way into the tree house further.

AHHHHHHHH

It was so nice up here. The wind gave his hair little shift as he looked out among the grounds.

Emmylou jumped what felt like ten feet in the air when the door had opened. She looked at the person who had opened the door and gasped. "Are you okay?" Emmylou asked with concern. Maybe he was one of the Slytherin's that was caught in the fight? Emmylou had been over at the Slytherin table to visit her cousin Echo and was really shocked but not really shocked about the fight at the same time but she was wondering what or who had caused it.

Margo jumped when the door opened. She noticed everyone else did as well. At least it wasn't just her. Why she didn't realized that other people wouldn't be able to enter the tree house. Margo was stopped in mid sentence. She wasn't sure whether or not the couple in front of her wanted her to leave or not.

And then another boy joined the fray. "Hey you were that boy at the Ravenclaw table!" Margo said looking at him and recognizing his face. She hadn't actually met the boy and no idea what his name was. "What the heck was that all about!" Margo asked, just flat out being nosy. It was probably rude to ask, she didn't really have the right to know, but it was in her nature to ask!

"Mhmm yup in Emmy's third year she dated me. I mean I was pretty dorky back then but now I am soo good looking." he smirked and winked at Emmy. He was probably gonna get a huge eye roll later. He was starting to act like Braedon and I mean a summer with him things were about to rub off. He heard Margo explaining her father was a muggle and they had something in common. "That's interesting Margo because my father is also a muggle. My mom was the witch of the household hence why I'm here at Hogwarts." he smiled. He did play in the NBA though so he didn't wanna say that just yet.

"Aww of course and you get used to the maze don't worry. By next year you will know your ways around." he assured her. He heard Margo asking if she should go. "Nooo stay...if I am making you feel uncomfortable I am sorry Margo." He didn't mean to be all lovey dovey in front of the little firstie.

His attention back on his girlfriend and he grinned. "Aahh so Emmy rather be outdoors than reading. That is new I never heard you say that." He teased her a little bit and kissed her on her cheek. "We could all have an outdoor adventure sometime. I know the grounds like the back of my hand.."

He trailed off when he noticed a familiar face came over to them. He noticed it was Gregoire. Man he hadn't seen him in a while. He seemed a little flustered and he waved him over. "Come on over Gregoire. Come join the little party over here. How have you been mate?" he asked curiously.

Rats, they all were talking to him now! One of them was inviting him inside too! Just great, of all things, someone saw what he did at the Ravenclaw table too! What next...oh wait...someone did just ask him about his injuries. No getting out of this one now. Curse his luck! First the feast, now this. Gregoire didn't want people around him anymore! The snake was a bearer of bad-luck somehow. That might have as well just be his middle name. Bad luck, and bad kharma seemed to follow him everywhere he went. Looking up at the Hufflepuff (Kace) Gregoire gave a shy smile "I'm- um- good." He said very quietly.

Just so that why he didn't have to deal with all the pain he just sort of waved the other Hufflpuff girl (Margo) off. Gregoire honestly didn't want to have to answer her questions right now. This was not helping to suppress the memory of what happened to be honest. Now his mind was on it...the ongoing memory would last forever knowing that he punched someone younger than him. Not to mention when it was someone who did not look physical at all. Grrr, why did he go and do that! Gah!

Glancing in the Gryffindor's direction, (Emmylou) with the same shy smile he gave to Kace, Gregoire answered "Oui, I'm alright." Nervous glance down. Truth be told, the Frenchie was not alright. Thanks to Margo, the memory was on repeat in his head. When it was just even starting to get out of his head too. Gregoire regretted everything he did at the Ravenclaw table. He even regretted walking over there! Fixing his semi-cut dirty blonde hair, the boy gazed at the floor with piercing, icy blue eyes.

Hopefully them talking to him wouldn't take to long. Or hopefully all of them would leave. Gregoire just wished to be alone for even a few minutes.

Oh no, he wasn't talking... Margo didn't mean to offend him at all. Oh gosh, now she had done it!! Why did she always have to open her big mouth!!! Jeepers she had issues. "Oh listen, I didn't mean anything by it. I'm sorry" Margo tried to tell the boy. Now she felt awful! How could she possibly so inconsiderate!.

"No listen, it's okay really, I'll let it go. I'm Margo by the way, Margo Holiday" She added introducing herself, well for how rude she was maybe she shouldn't have given him her name, just in case he went crazy and punched her too....oh come on!! Now that's rude, Margo Joan Holiday you behaving yourself!!!! She said in her mind. Jeepers, She was loosing it already.

"Those beater arms of yours not out of shape are they, Benny?" Adi questioned as he started up the ladder. Quidditch at Hogwarts hadn't been on for a while but surely Benny must have had some practice at home.

''Annnnnd I'm up!'' Adi set his feet down on the boards of the tree house, glancing around as he waited patiently for his best friend to join him. Not too many students there as yet. Awesome! More time and less bustle for exploration!

When Benny joined him, Adi took off into the House. "What do you want to do. Hang out on the bean bags? Check out the view? Both? Hey, isn't that Chance?" The Hufflepuff paused for breath as he pointed out Benny's Housemate.

Benny took the rungs after Adi, sticking his tongue out at the comment aimed his way "Nah...I think they're still good." Granted gobstones wasn't quite as active and he missed flying but he wasn't a weakling like what might be implied. One bestie up, now it was fully the lion's turn as he was more free to move as he climbed the makeshift ladder to get to the actual treehouse.

He was all for doing a bit of both as he stepped onto the platform at the top when his friend mentioned his housemate and Benny turned to look. "Mhmmm." Yep, that would be his fellow fifth year Gryffindor out near one of the branches. "Hey..." he added as he followed Adi into the treehouse and closer to the other boy.

Chance.

He had heard his name.

Looking around, Chance spotted Adi and Benny coming up the tree house. An instant smile flew on his face. "Well well look who it is! I haven't seen you two since last year!! How's it been treating you?? Alright, ya?" Of course Chance was sputtering off at the mouth. Wasn't he always?

Chance closed the distance between the three and shook both boys hands. "What you doing at the tree house? " Still more questions being asked. He was on a roll!

"Yes, they seem okay,'' Adi decided after surveying Benny as he climbed up the ladder. "For a moment I thought they had turned flabby." Hehe. Joking! Benny knew what Adi was like after knowing him for three years.

Seeing that Benny was undecided for now about what they should do, Adi decided the should join Chance. "Come on, let's go see what he's up to.'' It had been a while since the Puffer had had time to chat with the dude.

As the friends approached, it was no surprise that Chance started blabbering. Hehe. Questions one after the other. Just as he himself did sometimes. "I've seen you around but you're always to busy to notice me, dude.'' The Puffer held out a fist. How about a fist bump, Chance? "It's been good and busy but this year isn't busy... so far." That would change in a few weeks time. "I'm awesome! What about you? Why are you alone here?" Every time he'd sen Chance, the Lion had a friend at least with him.

"Benny wanted to scout the Grounds for Dragons,'' Adi kidded. "He figured it would be perfect to survey the grounds from here." Hehe.
