Time to get down to business.

Well, even though Sophie hadn't neglected her studies over the summer, she still felt like THIS moment of going to study in the library for the first time this term was very important and monumental. She actually wasn't nervous about OWLs at all - quite the contrary, she was excited for the challenge and knew she could do it - but she knew that she needed to make time for studying anyway, even just to keep up and stay at the top of the class.

Curling up in the cushioned windowsill in front of Rowena Ravenclaw, Sophie sat with her notebook in her lap and her Runes textbook under it. Runes was a problem area, one of the few that she felt required hard work outside the classroom, so that was her task for the day. Maintaining her spot as a Rune Master and being high on Botros' list of favorite students was very important to her.

And she wanted to try to keep up with Tobes.

Kyroh was reading it. For the third time in a row. Cover to cover.

He knew all the spells in it and the pronunciations and the wand movments but he just wanted to be sure. After missing so many Charms classes last term be had gotten used to teaching himself and he wasn't sure if he was behind or not. He just wanted to do GOOD. Especially in Charms. It was important.

His brow was furrowed as he turned the page, silently muttering every word. Without looking up Kyroh made a left turn and a right. And another right and-collided right into the stained glass window.

Ansuz... Kenaz... weird names, and even though this was her third year officially studying the subject, she still got names mixed up with what the runes looked like. To kick off the term on the right food, she was writing down the names of the runes she knew and was drawing the associated symbol with it, when -

Oh, that had to hurt.

Though her initial instinct was to burst into laughter, Sophie actually managed to suppress it immediately, shoved her work aside, and abandoned her chair to hurry over to Kyroh.

"Kyroh? Friend? You okay?" DON'T LAUGH, SOPHIE BROWN. DON'T LAUGH.

The impact had caused him to stumble back and drop the textbook on the ground. Raising his hands Kyrohs hands immediately rushed pressed down on his head, unsure of what even had just HAPPENED.

All he knew was that one minute he was studying and the next his face hurt and-Sophie? She was saying words but- he couldn't make them out at all. Wide eyed Kyroh gazed at her. "You.....hit me with a spell?"

...Kiddo say what?

"Kyroh, you ran into the window." Sophie stared at him, then held up one finger in front of his face, wanting him to focus on it, then moved it back and forth, expecting his eyes to follow. "Y'must've hit your head so hard you're delusional. I'd never hit you with a spell. Unless it was a healing one." She rested her hands lightly on both of his cheeks and tried to see if he had a concussion or something, but she didn't really know what she was looking for, so she let her hands drop.

He wasn't going to, like... flip out on her, was he?

He ran into a window?

That's what it sounded like. But he wasn't sure because the throbbing feeling that had first started in his forehead was not spreading to the rest of his head and sorta out his ears. WAS HE GOING TO GO DEAF?

The next thing he knew there was a finger in front of his face and then hands touching his cheeks. "Oh." Delusional Alright. "That's good 'cause friends don't hit friends with spells y'know? And i'd tell my protector to get yo-" Rocking slightly Kyroh held up a hand. "I'm gonna sit down until you decide to stop spinning okay Sophie?"

It was good that they could agree that they were friends, and Sophie raised her eyebrows as Kyroh started to talk about Tobes - but then the boy looked like he might faint, and Sophie reached a hand over to rest on the boy's shoulder in an attempt to steady him.

...Spinning? Oh. Not good.

"Let's sit, yes," she nodded, leading the way down to the ground - the floor seemed like the safest option at the moment, and she supported his full weight as she guided him down with her. "How many fingers am I holding up?" She held up three fingers in front of her and eyed him curiously. He... hadn't caused, like, permanent damage, had he? Hopefully he was just a little dizzy from the collision?

Tobes would hate her if Kyroh died in her presence. She'd probably get the blame and it would ALL BE OVER.

The fourth year sat in one of the very comfortable cushioned window seats with a book firmly in hand. It was a book written by a well known Healer who was known across the Wizarding world for his work with Magical Creatures. His name was Darrien Harper. Call it some odd sense or some kind of a feeling, but the name just drew her attention & she immediately picked up the book off of the shelf. He must have been rather popular, because there were a few other books written by him as well. But yes, this name had caught her eye & she just had to read it for some reason.

As she sat there reading this man's work, she couldn't help but feel slightly relatable to the way he worded things & his opinion on certain topics where he would go off a slight tangent before he realized he'd gotten distracted & would get back on track. It was almost like that was something she would have done too & how her opinion on Kneazles were the same as his. Very intriguing creatures that were not only smart, but very mischievous when they wanted to be. She was definitely going to have to pick up the other copies of his books the moment she had finished this one!

The library was a miraculous place, but it was also a terrifying place. OWLs were this year.

OWLS!!!!

Chances head was mostly wrapped up in the OWLs, mostly. And since he was currently thinking about them, he made his way begrudgingly to the library. Grabbing a few books he would need to study with, he headed into the direction of the comfortable chairs, since he suspected he would be here for a while.

He scanned the section of chairs, most of them filled. Picking and choosing between a boy who was picking his nose, he choose to sit next to a girl who looked like she was head over heels for her book.

"That good?" Chance whispered to get her attention. He motioned to sit in the chair next to her before sitting in it.

The fourteen year old hadn't really noticed that the library had become a little crowded, seeing as to how her eyes couldn't leave the pages below her. And little did she know, that she had actually been there for quite some time now, although she wouldn't have been able to have come up with a guesstimate if someone were to ask her.

This book was just so fascinating. Was it the book itself? Or was it the write of the book who really making her unable to put this book down? She really couldn't figure it out. It was actually becoming a little alarming to her, so much that she was tempted to just put the book down or put it away.

Wait-after this-'

Just as she was about to turn another page, the silence she had gotten used to was nonexistent when there was a soft whisper breaking that silence. Unfortunately though, this sudden whisper had scared the girl so much that she had unintentionally gasped very loudly almost to the point of letting out a fearful shriek, & her body to jump up, which made her accidentally lose her grip of her book. Before she knew it, it was lying on the floor & she was quickly scrambling to pick it up, not even setting her eyes on the this person yet, but it was after she had picked up her book was the moment she finally set her eyes on a boy who looked older than she was. She froze & could feel her face warming up, feeling absolutely ridiculous for gasping & jumping like that. Josette made a mental note to seriously work on that.

The Ravenclaw watched as the boy gestured next to her & it took her a split second to realize that he was intending to sit beside her. "O-Oh, I-I'm sorry.." Josette quickly moved her things out of the way & then adjusted herself to give the boy some space so that he could sit down.

...Was her face as red as it felt?

.....Drats....

Dot had taken to heart that she needed to figure out what was so great about the library. Especially because Thornton had suggested it, and because her closest friends were all Ravenclaws and probably slept here on a soft next of pages and nice words. She didn't dislike books, but she didn't feel overly enthusiastic about them. The whole room spelled funny.

Maybe she'd glitterfy something. If no one would notice. Dot pulled out a few random titles as she walked through the stacks. 1000 Boring Plants. The Most Boring Way to Explain Exciting Spells, a Compendium. Don't You Dare Read This Book Or You'll Fall Over Dead From Dullness.

Sigh. Sigh sigh sigh sigh.

Dot gave up on the books and curled up in one of the chairs so she could properly stare up at the pretty windows alone one wall. The light filtered through in patches of color that sprinkled along Dot's arms and into the chair and floor, and she danced a toe from blue to red to green to purple to blue again. Why couldn't every window be stained glass?

Thornton was searching for a place to curl up, having found a book on musical charms. The work for term had not yet become overwhelming and so he was taking the opportunity to see where magic and music might overlap.

With the book tucked under his arm, he made his way past the stained glass windows, smiling at how the color spilled on the floor. He was distracted enough that he nearly walked all the way past Dot without noticing she was there. It was just as he had taking a step past, he spotted her out of the corner of his eye.

Taking a step back, he turned to her. "Hi Dot."

Dot had her hands cupped and filled with blue light, and when she glanced up to grin at the appearance of Thronton, she appreciated the fact that red and yellow lit up half his face and left the other half in shadow. It was like MAGIC.

"Thornton. I tried liking the books, but they're not being likable today. And then I was wondering if there was a way to bottle pretty light, because imagine having this blue in a jar on your nightstand. It's like the inside of a sapphire right in my hands!" She tried to pour the blue light into her mouth and it all slipped away.

Thornton grinned in return, squinting just a little at the light in his eye. "Well," he offered, shrugging, "maybe another day you'll find a book that is likable." Because that's what Thornton really thought. Liking books was just a matter of finding the right one.

He watched her though, with the blue light. Sapphire was a good description and the light shimmered, even as it disappeared from her hands. "I bet there is," he said. "We just have to find it."

"In a book? Find it in a book, you mean?" Dot captured the blue light again before sliding out of her chair and leaving the light behind. If he found a book that would let her keep the light, she'd probably like THAT book very much, but it seemed really unlikely. And it might be worse looking for something unlikely in a lot of books than just not looking at all.

"You believe that the answer to every question is in a book somewhere, don't you? I wonder if that makes the world more understandable or just less romantic. Lead the way, Captain Thornbird."

Thornton shrugged. "Maybe in a book. But could also ask the new charms professor. Or just try things." Like painting a jar blue and then dropping something that glows inside. Reading. Asking. Experimenting.

He thought carefully, though, about whether he did believe the answer to every question was in a book somewhere. He walked a little bit, toward the charms section, pondering. "For questions that have answers that have been found," was finally what he settled on, shrugging as he turned into the charms section. "Some questions don't have answers, maybe..." he turned back to look at her.

Coming to a stop in front of a bookcase, he looked up. "Buuuut, for charmed blue lights in a jar, I think maybe here."

Walking through the library straight towards the back she knew where she was headed. For the stained glass windows. Hady liked to sit there sometimes and enjoy a book, it was rather relaxing. Having placed a book into her bag which was like normal slung over her shoulder she was prepared.

Rounding the corner and coming to a halt Hady giggled softly. There sat right on a cushion in front of the stained glass windows was fluffy white Persian cat. It didn't even seem to notice her as it groomed it's right ear. Lick. Lick. Licking it's paw and then cleaning at its ear. Only then did it take a moment pause to star off in the distance behind her a little to the left before it went back to it's grooming.

Wrinkling her nose in confusion Hady glanced over her shoulder to see if anyone was coming. There wasn't. Shrugging she sat herself down on a cushion near the cat. "Sorry kitty I hope I'm not bothering you but I have a bit of homework to do and then I'd like to enjoy a good book."

Setting her bag down she took out the textbook and flipped it open, eyes scanning for something that matched this cats behavior. Nope.

Nothing. Wait! There!

Pulling out her parchment and quill she took down what she saw.

As I got to one of my reading spots here at the stained glass windows in the library I came across a very fluffy white Persian kitty grooming itself. I almost missed what the textbook had said since each grooming of the ear was different. Apparently since this kitty was cleaning it's right ear and had looked off to the distant left corner of the area of room it means a gentleman will be visiting. Does that mean a Professor or maybe just a friend of mine? I'm not really sure yet but I'll be keeping an eye out for some time since I plan on reading here for awhile.

Putting her homework away Hady pulled out an old book and flipped it open to the current page she was at as she began to read. The kitty still in her line of vision as well as the area the cat had been looking at. She was curious to see who would be visiting her soon.

Abby pulled a book off the shelf at the stained glass windows she loved this place and she looked at the book and smiled to herself it was one that she had not read yet and she didnt mind if somebody interupted her reading

He still wasn't at all convinced that working by this window thing was supposed to make him work faster... BUT... considering he had LOTS to read - if he wanted to understand anything, he'd give it a go.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked a Ravenclaw girl as he approached, his Astronomy textbook tucked under his arm.

Abby looked up from her book at the young gryffindor who was asking if she minded and said "Not at all this is a peaceful place if you want to read" Abby being the bookworm liked to come down here to read in peace away from her noisy dorm

She didn't mind? Awesome! "Thanks."

Zeke parked himself down and placed the book on his lap, letting it open to a random chapter. He couldn't remember what he was up to, or what he ought to be reading, but it wouldn't hurt to just read ANYTHING regardless.

"So, you come here often then?" he asked, curiosity striking him.

Abby smiled at the boy and said "Yeah try to come here a lot to read as i sometimes can't get peace to do it in my common room, oh I am Abby by the way" Abby thought it would be best to introduce herself to the boy

Oh cool...

Wait.

Did she just infer that Ravenclaw's were noisy? BAHAHAHAHAHHA... that was hilarious. HE found that hilarious. "Nice to meet you," he smiled, "I'm Zeke."

But... back this sitting here thing and it being quieter than the Ravenclaw common room... "So this whole 'Rowena's window' thing... does it actually help you read and study faster? Or is it a load of rubbish?" If she came here often she'd know, right? And he liked answers, especially if sitting here meant he was wasting time. What if there was a different window that would make him work faster than he did HERE?

Abby smiled at Zeke and said "Nice to meet you too Zeke and that is an intersting question i guess that it does help me read and study faster which is probably one reason why i seem to like coming here so often" Abby didn't have many friends in her own house so she just liked to escape for alone time
