Eden was torn between being excited to go back to school and missing her....parents. She had kissed them goodbye and had been a LITTLE teary when her mother didn't let go from their hug--but there were always letters, right?

She hoped her Mam would take GOOD care of Luigi. She promised to be good with Daisy and Drago--YERP--and as she made her way into the train, she needed to put up her luggage. Her big trunk was a pain--she had a small duffle bag to bring into the compartment with her--and had her robes--yeah.

Puck was dragging her trunk and just, standing there for a bit when she spotted Eden. “Hi,” she cleared her throat, smiled, and still managed to look like she had walked in on something she hadn’t meant to see but she hadn’t…except the term was starting and now she just HAD to act like a regal little queen…empress Gryffindor.

Right.

That is what she had to do. She was going to take this and work with it…now where was her scepter? She grinned at Eden, “Guess what Eden, I have to sit with all the lovely lovely people in that special compartment…” she snorted slightly but still kept her sardonically peppy tone in place.

“I don’t know but I seriously think people in this school are mental…me? A Prefect? Have they met me?” She asked, rambling somewhat…right Empresses don’t ramble. “Any fun plans for the start of term? OH AND HERE!” She grinned handing her a box…”its…cookies, my sister made millions” she laughed as she handed a giant box of chocolate chip cookies to the Ravenclaw sixth year.

*Finally, the train had left and he was away from his father and twin sister. Of course his dad had been all worried and double checking everything. Keep an eye on each other alright? I'll see you at Christmas. B-Be good alright. The second their father was out of sight they both went their separate ways. Emma the constant social butterfly found some friends and was off. Noah on the other hand took their trucks to be stored.*
"Stupid Emma and her stupid friends. Just leaves her trunk in the corridor for people to trip over just like home."
*Putting Emma's trunk up he smirked and pulled a plastic little fish out of his pocket. Opening his sisters trunk twisted the back fin and placed the toy inside, only it wasn't a toy but a trick toy that spews water once it's fin is twisted.*
"Treat me like your own personal house elf huh? Hope you like wet clothes Ems."
*Placing his own trunk as far away from his sisters as possible he took off to find a seat.*

Eden turned around instantly, her trunk too heavy for her foot to handle on it's own. BUt--PUCK! "Oh--HI PUCKER!" she grinned and gave her friend a quick hug. She wiped her sweaty hands on her pants and tried not to be too awkward. Because Eden was just....awkward sometimes.

Eden burst out laughing. Who in their RIGHT MIND made PUCK prefect?! Eden couldn't stop. No. she couldn't. She thought Flamy and Puck were ENEMIES after last term--Merlin--this was hilarious. "Puck--really--are you sure it's YOU they meant?" She was kidding, though, and she laughed and hugged Puck more. "Congrats--seriously--that's like--an HONOR okay? And also means you get to use a special bathroom--well--I know who to get to sneak me in this term." Heh. Eden liked having friends that were prefects...............maybe she was kidding. Maybe not.

She took the cookies cheerfully and opened the lid, peeeeking inside. "Oh--yummy--THANKS, Puck!" Puck ROCKED, all right?

So Zander was completely conflicted here. Yes, he had originally walked all the way over to this compartment to put his things away, BUT there was something else lingering in the back of his mind too. That something else had to do with the little cruppy sitting peacefully in it's cage, that Zander was STILL holding on to and very tightly at that. He didn't want to leave her all alone in this terribly dull compartment, but he also didn't know whether or not he wanted her to come to his compartment in the very front.

Besides, all the other animals here looked pretty lonely too.

Okay, okay so it was settled. She'd stay for now and he'd come visit her periodically throughout the ride. It was a perfect plan. Speaking of plans, he had another brewing as well... And with that, the Gryffindor began to undo the little badge that happened to be sitting on his robes. Whoops, how'd that get there? And carefully slipped it into his pocket. He wasn't ashamed, but he did need to tell a certain someone about it before that certain someone found out himself and killed him.

The whole verbal and almost physical fight at the platform had left Kevin feeling a bit annoyed. He wondered why he always got in to trouble even when he didn't seek it out. Because that Aegis kid had been the one holding him back and demanding an apology. Apology lmao! Kevin did not do apologies. That and saying please....except for that one time when he had detention and he HAD to say it or else he'd be still scooping up the droppings blegh.

He dragged his luggage towards the luggage compartment, one simple bag hung over his shoulders on his back that had his school robes and food in it. His rat Templeton was on the top of his head. He wondered if he could use magic here but wasn't sure and although he lived for rulebreaking , he didn't want to risk it right now.

He had been so lost in thought in putting away his luggage that he didn't realise that his best friend was next to him, so when he turned around to leave he saw him and his mood lifted up again. "A yo Zandy!" he said loudly despite standing next to him. " you got a cruppy?" he asked, seeing the cage near him. Or was it not his?

Puck laughed along with Eden, “I thought that too – and…and look” she reached into her pocket and handed the letter that said she seemed to have Gryffindor leadership qualities mental. Absolutely mental, and Eden was hugging her, awwww. She hugged her back and laughed.

“Seriously Eden – you already milking me for my priveledges?” She laughed, “of course I’ll let you sneak in there with me” she laughed. “just don’t let the other prefects see you go in.” She added with a wink.

“Oh…no worries and I’ll let you know – maybe after Bianca cause well lets face it…if she weren’t first to know she’d kill me” She laughed, “if they boot me out of my job the minute I get there” she laughed and stored her trunks. “I still don’t know who the other prefects are – except maybe that Ethan kid…and that guy whose dating one of the triplets” she shrugged not really keen on people’s names after just one term. “Oh…and Beverly? The girl who saved Sebastian last term” she grinned and laughed.

"Enjoy them I have a batch i'm giving to the prefects too!" She admitted and sighed. "I should go there shouldn't I but...I'm nervous I don't like nervous it makes me all jittery and shaky and weird...and not me." Really. Nervous Puck was not PUCKlike at all.

Stepping into the luggage storrage, Domino storred her trunk and owl on the trolly. She reached into her pocket and gave Arrow a few pieces of beaf.
"Here you go girl, be good," she said.
The owl barked and fluttered her wings after she ate the pieces of beaf. She then quickly went to the other part of the train.

Uh oh. Speaking of a certain, certain someone. "Hey, Kevin!!" the fifth year turned to face his friend with a smile. Zander new that greeting from anywhere. It was obviously his best mate. Normally, he'd be ecstatic to see Kevin, but erm... At this particular moment he wasn't feeling very ecstatic at all. More like totally unprepared and on edge. For reasons. This would be very, very interesting.

But Kevin was talking to him and he had to stay focused on that. So much for coming up with a plan to reveal the news. But uh, cruppy?? "Uh?" OH WAIT, his cruppy!! In all the madness and excitement of his Hogwarts letter arriving and buying the little creature, Zander had completely forgotten to tell his friend all about the new addition to the Adair family.... Or well, technically just the Zander family since his parents didn't know about it yet... Ha. Right. "YEAH! Isn't she cute?" Normally he despised the word, but this was fitting. Noname was definitely cute. "She's kinda a fireball, gets into trouble a lot. Reminds me of you," he chuckled at the thought. Actually, come to think of it... In the past two weeks that he has had her... Noname really did get mischievous. And she still needed a name. Oops. Two weeks of being called 'noname'... Hopefully it wasn't too late to give her an actual name before she started identifying with this placeholder.

Annnnyyways, he could literally feel the weight of his badge pulling him down from his pocket. Oh Merlin, he couldn't take it anymore. He HAD to say something. "Um, anyways, Kevin... There's something I have to tell you... But you uh... You have to pinky swear you won't kill me," he looked up at the fourth year rather hesitantly. This would be fun. Ugh, lots of it.

Eden nodded unashamedly. Yep. "I am. Sorry. I knew being friends with you would pay off eventually--" she teased, nudging Puck gently as she took a look at the letter...MERLIN. Flamy. Was he all right? Eden wasn't quite sure that he was all there, especially after the past term. He probably hadn't even been Hook...he probably had seriously been trying to show off his mad acting skills. Who knew.

She wouldn't mention Jun. Jun had been HEAD BOY. And what a nice friend HE had made. Heh.

"Right Bianca--yeah she'll flip when she finds out--I bet she's happy, too--for the same reasons I am--" bathroom. Duh. "I don't--I know Beverly is..Oh! Toby!" she said happily. "Toby's nice--you'll like him." She wondered who the 'Claw prefects were. Hmm. Interesting. She supposed she'd find out at the feast and all. She didn't have any preferences, really. They would all do a wonderful job and stuff. Whomever was picked.

Aww. Puck was nervous? Eden had never seen the lion nervous before, and she shot the girl a smile. "Puck please...you got this...okay? Don't be nervous. Just go in there, be yourself--" she stopped. "Okay-maybe MELLOW and then be yourself after they accept you into their circle--" she said with a nod. Puck was a lot to handle sometimes but...Eden enjoyed it. "Just--DO YOU!" she said, patting her back and eyeing her tin of cookies. She needed to dig in.

Eden’s reaction to the letter only made Puck laugh even more. “Oh, yeah…I thought he was mental when he brought up the whole idea of leadership material” she chuckled and grinned over to her. Puck of course missed the former Headboy especially considering there wasn’t one this term – or she hadn’t heard of one so far.

“Oh she did flip out” Puck laughed, “and then we ate a bunch of food and celebrated…and food babies happened and we named them Bianca and Puck – mine is named Puck” she grinned. “I gave her the nickname Wifey” she grinned laughing, “because…we ‘got married’” right…Eden would get this right? “I don’t know why I think it was because we wanted to take care of our food babies?” She was giggling and nervousness disappeared for a moment until Eden said that she had this.

She didn’t. What if she didn’t like the other Prefects? “What if the other Prefects are…lame? Or…annoying?” She shrugged and pouted as she didn’t want to deal with annoying people AT ALL.

The rat on top of his head started to glide to his shoulder and Kevin supported the rat with one hand and the other went in to his pocket to give a treat to the rat.While Templeton was chewing, Kevin turned his attention back to Zander and he frowned. He had that look on his face again, like he was deep in thought. The last time he had seen that Kevin had to get it out of him. But that had been before they were friends.

So the cruppy was his? "The cruppy reminds you of me?" he laughed. "Riiiight. ..I'll take that as a compliment. ..should I?" or not? Although the traits of the cruppy does sounded like him hehe. "What's her name?"

Ah! He KNEW there was something that Zander had been hiding from him. Kevin had a tiny smug look on his face when he realised that he had been right but then got really curious and it was shown on his face, when he said those last words. "Just say it! You're trying to talk around it but that doesn't work on me remember? "

Despite the fact that he was trying to figure out the perfect way to break the Prefect news, he needed more time. More time to think. And by the looks of Kevin's frown, the fourth year knew exactly what was going on... Or really, lack thereof. Aheeem, he needed some sort of distraction for the time being, but Merlin, he had to say something sooner or later. Finally snapping back into reality, he was completely taken aback by that thing on Kevin's head. "Is that... A rat?! Is it yours?" Apparently Zander wasn't the only one with a pet...

But hehehe cruppy talk was definitely his favorite. The rat was nice, but cruppies were still at the top of his chart. Seeing Kevin laugh, Zander couldn't help but add a chuckle or two. "Yeah, she does! And it's a total compliment," well... Sort of. Zander liked his cruppy a lot though, so yeah... Compliment it was. As for the name.... Well, uh funny he should mention that. "Well... I haven't thought of one I like yet, so I just call her noname for right now, but I'm taking suggestions?" he had already gotten a few from some others, but secretly he had been waiting for Kevin's input on the whole thing. If the boy was willing to give him a serious answer.

Okay, okay so the smug look on Kevin's face... And that curiosity. Man. Zander wanted to tell him, but what would happen when he did? There were quite a number of possibilities and the best scenario was that Kevin would be excited to have a Prefect on his side to help him get out of sticky situations. But the worst scenario... Well that was pretty bad. Like a feeling of ultimate betrayal and possibly a few hexes kind of bad. Wait, would Kevin hex him!? Uh. Suddenly, the Gryffindor didn't feel like giving up the secret anymore. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you!" Merlin, Kevin knew all his tricks. Just then, the boy reached into his pocket and grabbed the shiny badge that had been gracing his robes just before the fourth year walked in. Holding it tightly in his fist, so that the object was still concealed, Zander lifted it up towards the other boy.

"So um..." he began opening up his hand slowly to reveal what he had been hiding within it, "I'm sort of a Prefect now," and now he waits. Waiting for the reaction, and all the while keeping his eyes on Kevin's face. And also maybe his hand too incase there was a wand being pulled out for a hex or something. You never really know with Kevin Hirase.

"No it's a owl" Kevin said with a roll of his eyes. Seriously Zander are you blind or something? Or simply do not know what a rat is and just guessed? Oh look! he didn't say his thoughts out loud. Maybe because it was his best friend? He gave his rat another treat as he continued to speak. "Yeah, his name is Templeton and i adopted him three years ago at some fair" the rat was old now though and it showed. "My mother said i should bring him to school at least once and well...tadaa" Templeton sniffed at his ear and Kevin grabbed him, putting the rat back on top of his head. "He's gonna die soon though, since rats don't get too old" he shrugged his shoulders but secretly he thought it was sad.

Noname ....how...original. Kevin sighed as he looked at the cruppy in the cage. Poor cruppy. "You're not taking her out of the cage?" he asked first. Wait, he was open for name suggestions? "Call her Bentley" he grinned, his eyes twinkling as he knew what he was doing. Did Zander still have a crush on that woman? "Or..what had been her first name? you should know right? you were the one being giddy over her" he laughed. Yeah it was kind of mean but come on! they were friends and friends did these kinds of teasing right?

Ah! finally Zander was going to tell what he was trying to hide. Kevin looked at the hand that was in front of him and frowned. He knew there was something in it , he wasn't stupid you know. But it seemed that his friend was reluctant in showing whatever he had again and Kevin already made a movement to pry open his hands but Zander had beat him to it.

A badge... that was what he saw. A red and gold badge. His misschievious grin vanished slowly while he stared at it. Zander Adair. His best friend. Became the typ of person he hated the most. An authority figure. "Oh...congratulations" he said but although he said that word, the way his voice sounded was not right, even for Kevin. He kind of felt a sense of betrayal. "You think you can do it?" he asked and he actually felt a bit bad for questioning his ONLY friend's ability. Their Head of House had to have seen something in the older Gryffindor or else he wouldn't have given him that badge.

He didn't want to lose or fight with him so Kevin sighed as he searched for words. "Look, i'm going to be honest and say that i'm not thrilled okay? I don't like authoritative types of people and that includes student leaders BUT...you're also my friend so i guess i just have to deal with it"

All of the sudden, he glared at him and narrowed his eyes. "But if you rat me out..." he said and sent another warning glare his way. "I'm guessing you have to spend the train ride in the loser compartment right?" Ugh. There went his thoughts of spending the train ride with someone he knew.

Okay, okay there was really no need to ask if it was a rat because obviously anyone who saw it could figure that one out... He was just a bit surprised to see it, honestly. That was all. He had been so preoccupied with trying to figure out exactly how he was going to break the news to his friend that he had overlooked the little creature okay? So anyways, no comment. "Oh," a fair, huh? It was strange, they had been good friends for two years now and Zander had no idea that Kevin even had a pet. "Well we should take him on some adventures or something before he does, give him a real Hogwarts welcome, you know?" 'Cause despite the fact that Kevin looked completely indifferent to the inevitable death of his pet rat, Zander knew that Kevin tended to suppress feelings... And death was always sad no matter what the shoulder shrug was meant to say.

Out of the cage? Well... He wanted to, but he was afraid that it'd get him into trouble on the first day of his new-erm- position. "Well for now," he let out a small sigh as well. "You know... They're not going to let me take her around the castle... The Headmistress said that I had to keep her in the playpens for the term..." He was hoping that noname would be on her best behavior though, and maybe they'd let her out of the fenced area. Honestly, Zander just wanted to keep her by his side for a while. But apparently he couldn't. "I guess I'm just glad I'm allowed to bring her with me... Cruppies aren't exactly on the list of allowed pets." He had to get special permission for this one.

But um, anyways. Back to the point. Names. That's what he was talking about. And that's when he saw it, that mischievous little sparkle in Kevin's eyes and no sooner than the moment he had thrown out the suggestions part, had Zander completely regretted it because he totally knew what was coming. Yet, the anticipation didn't save him from turning red though, because yup that still happened. Of course. You know, Bentley wouldn't be a bad name for a crup. And her first name, how could Kevin not remember!? It hadn't been that long!! Seren. Seren Bentley. Beautiful Seren Bentley. "No way, Kevin! I'm not going to name my crup over some third year crush," he couldn't believe that he just said that out loud. Really, more than anything... He was trying to convince himself not Kevin. "Besides, I've moved on." Not really. But he still said it, trying to make himself sound confident about it, though he wasn't.

..... But as comforting as this whole creatures talk was, Zander knew it wasn't going to be a light interaction. He didn't have to assume either because he could tell by the look of Kevin's face. Things had changed just now in the past two minutes. "Yeah, thanks," though Zander didn't sound all that excited either. He knew that Kevin wasn't truly feeling congratulatory. He didn't have to ask, it was all in the way he had said it. The Gryffindor looked at the ground for a moment, before looking back up at his best friend. "Well... I...I dunno... I'm going to have to try," he kicked his feet around a little, "But I reckon that Professor Flamsteed thinks I can... Otherwise he wouldn't have-- well, you know." Zander knew how Kevin felt about people with positions and it was starting to eat him up inside.

"I promise this isn't going to change anything, Kevin. We'll still have an amazing year," he assured the fourth year with a hopeful smile. "But... If... If you don't want me to do it.... It might not be too late for me to tell Professor Flamsteed that I've changed my mind?" Obviously, Zander didn't want to do this. Though the badge was daunting and nerve-wracking, he felt honored that he was chosen. It meant people believed in him. "And well... Yeah, I have to go there at some point, but... We could just hang out here for a bit first?" He couldn't leave Kevin. Especially not after he had promised that things wouldn't change. There was plenty of time to head over to the Prefects compartment, but he wasn't needed there yet, not like he was needed here at least.
