Wandering around...that's what James was doing. Why had he even left the dorms? Probably because if he didn't Bambi or Pal would notice and that would lead to questions. Questions he didn't want to answer that was for sure.

His hands in his pockets he walked along the street glancing at other shops and people. A small part of him hoping he'd run into Vinnie but then again he didn't really want to see her still. Ugh. He should apologize to her. Nope instead he had behaved exactly like his dad and went and kept to himself. He hadn't even seen Lux. He stopped in front of the candy shop and sighed choosing instead to lean against the wall of one of the buildings.

Brrrr!

It was rather cold today, so Lux had bundled up extra warm today but there was no way that she would miss any opportunity to visit Hogsmeade as it presented itself. This weekend was one of her favourite times during term and she was excited because she and Bay would have a date there soon. It was hard to have dates with someone when they weren't near you, but somehow they managed and she was super happy whenever she got a chance to see him.

For now she would just look through some of the different stores and right now she wanted some candy so of course she was planning to stop off at Honeydukes. It was outside the store that she spotted James looking like a sourpuss. Hmmm, what was up with him because usually he was a lot more cheerful than that.

Waving, she made her way over to him. "Why the long face?" They would be talking now whether he liked it or not because this was slightly worrying. Hopefully nothing was seriously wrong.

James let his eyes travel over the kids as they passed. It never seemed like there were that many when he was in the castle but there really were a lot. His eyes landed on a familiar figure waving at him and he groaned inwardly. Lux. Great. He shrugged at her question and shoved his hands a little deeper into his coat.

"Nothing." A lie. He didn't usually lie but he also didn't particularly feel like talking to her about what happened. "Where are you headed?" Yup good Ravenclaw tactic, deflect the question and focus on the person talking.

Nothing, huh?

Lux might not be a Ravenclaw but she was by no means slow. She could pick up hints and she knew James well enough by now to pick up when something was wrong with him.

Crossing her arms over her chest, she bit her lip. Sorry, but she was not going to let it go so easily. "I'm not headed anywhere until you tell me what's up." So the length of time they spent out here depended on when he decided to tell her what was up. She didn't like the cold so hopefully he wouldn't keep her waiting long.

James watched her and as soon as he saw the arms cross in front of her he frowned. Yup...he knew that look well enough. It was the same thing his mum did when he wouldn't tell her something. Ugh...women...was it like a natural trait or something?

"I don't want to talk about it, Lux so just drop it," he said with a sigh and leaned his head against the wall. Nope he wasn't going to fall for it this time. Not to mention he didn't need all the kids around here hearing his business. "We'll just say it has to do with a girl and leave it at that." Something was better than nothing right? He met her eyes and clenched his jaw. Nope. Wasn't happening they could turn into a popsicle for all he cared.

Well, someone had woken up on the grumpy side of the bed this morning.

Generally Lux would do a little more prodding, but James really did not seem to be in the mood. She did gather it was about Vinnie so that meant it was probably related to her boyfriend. James would be wise not to get TOO involved with a girl in that situation because they might enter cheating territory. She did have to wonder who this boyfriend was and honestly she wasn't a fan of the whole situation because it seemed rather unfair him as well as to James. When she and Bay had kissed while he had been dating Christmas still, it had only lasted a moment and they had kept it in line up until a little less than five months later when they began dating.

"If you insist." Lux walked off in the direction of Honeydukes because it was much better than standing in the cold and she would get candy out of it. "Want to at least get candy with me?" Looking over her shoulder, she hoped he would follow after her.

Good she did leave it alone. This was why Lux was hsi friend. He watched as she walked off and smiled a little as she stopped and asked him if he would go with her. Pushing off the wall he nodded and followed behind her. "Thanks," he said for her not pushing the issue and for dragging him along.

He hugged himself a little tighter as the wind picked up and bit through his jacket. "What will you do without me next term," he said with about half the humour as he would have normally had. He just wasn't in the mood for pretty much anything. Didn't even really want to buy any candy and that wasn't like him at all but he would go with her since she asked.

Eureka successfully managed to escape her grandfather's company. Finally, whew. He kept sitting with his old friends, talking about old times, wearing ugly sweaters that Uncle Sherman sent him. She didn't come aaaaall the way from her home to spend time LITERALLY with him, pft, she wanted to see London! And Hogsmeade!

OOOOH, look at that beauty shop place! She ran up and smash!stuck her face on the glass, her breath fogging it up as she breathed excitedly watching the customers getting all sort of colorful, exotic hairdos. Was this the fashion in London this year? Her friends back home would be THRILLED if she came back looking like a British Witch!

The heat of your breath should warm up the frost and help unstick your tongue. Just be careful not to put your lips to the glass too, if you do, they'll be stuck too." And that really was no fun. Permanent blow-fish on a shop window.

Kace made his way to the Hogsmeade Street and wanted to see if he could find anyone he knew. He always managed to find someone. As he found a nice bench to sit on and work on some sketches. He brought his little backpack and pencils and wanted to do some people sketching. I mean he didn't intrude he just liked to see people doing their everyday things. He began to shade in and shade in people. He just loved sitting here and finding peace and just get to his thoughts.

Bad karma. Too much bad karma.

Despite her most valiant efforts not to create trouble and chaos around her, the Hufflepuff seemed to be constantly building up more karmic dept. And now she had to bottle it all up. Jaime would just laugh at her and tell her she was being silly - mostly because she hadn't killed anyone and no one had really gotten hurt from anything she had done - and she hadn't been able to find Thornton recently to discuss matters with him. Although the Ravenclaw was more of an escape for her. She quite enjoyed his company because he could always distract her from things. Sort of like her happy place...but in a person.

"I CAN HELP!" she waved frantically as she bounced over to the girl, her curls tossing all over the place. "I once helped a piranha plants get its tongue unstuck from a frozen window."

Eureka wasn't one to scare easily, and thank Merlin for that because out of the blue someone was quietly talking to her. TO HER. In that English tongue her grandfather used to teach them all. Eureka remained where she was, her face plastered onto the glass, trying to decipher every word the girl was saying. She understood everything just fine, she just didn't understand what the girl meant and Eureka didn't want to pull away and having to face her before she had a good answer.

'Okay' was the common, universal word for understanding things, though. She could use that.

Just when she was about to pull back, someone else shouted that they could help?? Eureka's eyes were wide with confusion. She pulled away quickly though and spun around to face the two girls. "I help, too!" She beamed, speaking in a thick accent. She saved poor cold animals and sneaked them into the castle, did they know that? "Piranha plants?" Eureka repeated, her eyes going wide, wider than they'd already been. She looked at the other girl to make sure she heard right. "Do they eat you?" She asked curiously, fascinated.

From the lack of response, let alone head movement, from the girl Amur surmised that the situation was bad. Perhaps even adult-intervention-worthy type of bad. Which was really bad. She reached over and patted the girl's shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll get you out of --"

The shout that came from the street startled Amur so bad that her words turned into a squeak of surprise as she whipped around. What in all -? Amur started as the young girl bounced over to them. Had she really spoken so loudly that someone could over--- What? Just...what?

"How did a piranha plant manage to do that? And how did you--"

And then she screamed. Really screamed, because window-tongue-girl had whirled about. And to do that, she would have had to rip her tongue from the window, which would have hurt. A lot. And Amur was thoroughly confused when she didn't see evidence of that hurt on the girl's face. Just.....what?

Lowering her hands from their protective covering of her own mouth, Amur glanced at the window just to check and make sure there wasn't a tongue stuck to it still. Some people could still speak without tongues, right? But no, no tongue and really, no evidence of stuckery on the window. So what had.........

Ohhhhhh. Amur's face flushed in embarrassment. There was that thing, that looking in the shop window thing that people tended to do. At least, crisis averted? With, the bonus opportunity to pretend that it had never happened, with talk of piranha plants of all things.

"Uhm...they can..." Maybe she should just try slipping away and let these two carry on with their conversation. Truth was, she really did want to know how a plant had managed to get its tongue stuck to a window. So, she stayed.

Caleb LOVED Hogsmeade weekends - especially now that he had OWLs to study for, it was a nice break from the books! Oops. Oh well - he WAS still a teenager after all, he was allowed his vices!

Sort of teased. He was also sort of serious, but he doubted the Huffie was drawing him.

As Kace was beginning to get into the zone of drawing, he heard someone talk to him. Well he thought he did so he looked up and soon enough he noticed that a Slytherin was there. It clicked in his brain and he noticed it was Caleb! He smiled and laughed at his own little joke. "I mean I can try.." he played along. "How have you been mate?" he asked. It had been AGES since he had talked to him. Well it might not have been that long but it felt like a while.

It was a sunshiny kind of March day; perfect weather for exploring the great outdoors. Little David Truebridge clambered down the steps of his family's cottage, already imagining that he was a clabbert on a mission for a fat, juicy...

"JACKET!" Oh, that was Mum. Davie quickly scambled back into the cottage, grabbing his blue zip-up, and then back outside. Ahhh. The sun felt great, giving him the illusion that the season was quite further along than it really was. He skipped off down the street, fully intent on accomplishing his short list of goals for today. The list was wadded up in his pocket and included:

• catching an earthworm to dissect later
• acquiring a flobberworm for comparison
• finding a four-leaf clover
• purchasing a gummy wand (or six two)

Yes, today had a lot of potential. Davie stuck his hands in his pockets to check that the list was still there and continued down the street, sticking to the side so that he could see any earthworms that might pop up in the grass.

Gwendilyne Bastion came sadly strolling down the Main Street of Hogsmeade. Just receiving the tragic news of her brother, Gregoire's death, the small and shy brunette came wearing a black trench coat with a black hat. Carrying a small bag in her hand gently, a tear ran down her face.

Originally, Gwen was coming here to meet up with her older sibling. But now, she was here for a different purpose. The girl wanted to make sure that Gregoire would be remembered. Peering down at the bag, she planned on planting a few flowers around Hogsmeade somewhere. Or maybe if she met up with one of his friends, she could give some to them to plant back at the castle. As long as her brother would be remembered.

Gazing back for a second, the soon-to-be-14-year-old noticed her parents were no longer following behind her. They must have stopped in some shop or The Three Broomsticks or somewhere else. Even though she shouldn't be traveling to far from her parents, the depressed brunette looked down at the ground. The March air blowing through her hair.

Stopping for a quick second in the street she whispered to herself "I miss you Gregoire." Noticing what she did, Gwen looked back up, and stared around to see if she accidentally drew attention to herself. Making sure no one was following her, she made her way to a back alley where she could possibly drop off a flower.

Charlotte Kettleburn had ESCAPED! Her mum was at that dumb salon and all there was to do there was go through DUMBORING magazines. One of them had her aunt Ells on the front and Charlotte had drawn spectacles and a trident beard on her face and that was okay BUT THEN the crayons got taken away and THEN there hadn't been aaaaaaaaaaaaaanything to do. And she didn't even have Callum or Chloe along to keep her company since it was supposed to be just her and her mum today but Charlotte thought that ACTUALLY it was a day that was supposed to be just Callum and Chloe and their dad. It was VERY SUSPICIOUS. BUT ANYWAYS, she'd done her best anguished expression and finally her mum had said she could go up the road and see if Davie was home. YUSSSSS!

"ChaRAWWWWRRRlotte!!!!!" Davie bounced up from trying to pick up the earthworm and made monster claws too, just like Char was doing. Also because she was a little bit older than him and way crazy cool, he started skipping right at her with his monster claws at the ready and monster teeth bared in a playful grin, all together headed for a collision.

Collisions weren't really all that out of the ordinary when it came to Charlotte Kettleburn, but she was adept enough at them to turn the end part into hugs instead of DEATH.

"DAVIE! I WAS COMING TO SEE YOU." Also she was probably too close to his ear to be yelling but she was excited, okay? "My mum is at the dumb salon and it was SO BORING." He understood, he had a salon mum TOO, Charlotte knew. They had that in common: a salon mum and a nerd dad. It meant that Davie underSTOOD. She bear hugged him and then let him go.

"I'm doing THIS today."

He ground the toe of his shoe into the dirt a little bit as she looked it over. "We don't haaaave to do any of those things, though, if you don't want to." Since obviously now they were hanging out all day while their mums did mum things. "What's your NEWS?!"

"YEAH!" Whenever she COULD look for Davie, if he wasn't already in her company, then Charlotte WOULD. Nova too but sometimes Nova was a bit TOO girly, and Davie could be counted on for important things like investigating bugs or figuring out if gnomes bounced or not.

Oh a LIST! Her dad had lists. Charlotte took the list and cleared her throat and then read it out in an important voice. "Catching an earthworm to dissect later - why stop at ONE worm? We should get a WHOLE LOT AND see if we can cut TWO WORMS in half and SEW THEM TOGETHER into a FRANKENWORM." Like woah! Right? Wasn't that the best idea that she had suddenly just had and immediately spoken out loud? This was why Davids needed Charlottes in their lives. Okay but there was more stuff on the list.
"Acquiring a flobberworm for compariso--FRANKENMUTANTWORM!" Right? Was he WITH HER on this?

He nodded along to her suggestions, see why it had been a good idea to make a list? "A FRANKENWORM is brilliant. A FRANKENMUTANTWORM is just GENIUS. Let's do it. Let's do ALL the WORMS!" He threw a small fist up in the air in support of the new plan.

But. News. He raised his eyebrows and then hurriedly took his glasses off to wipe them on his shirt and put them back on again. "A GIANT AFRICAN LAND SNAIL--- are they SERIOUS?! Those can grow to be TWENTY CENTIMETERS, Char! You can hold that in your hand! And when it dies, you can use the shell for a horn! Probably! Are they gonna let you go to Africa too, to pick it out?!"

David had no pets 'cept Gingersnapple, but he was Mum's cat technically and was thus IMMENSELY interested in the potential of his friend's giant snail. "Do they eat worms, d'ya think? Should we collect some EXTRA worms for your ALMOST-STREELER?"

It WAS brilliant and genius. ALL THE WORMS! Char also threw her hands up. TWO fists. It felt like a two fist thing. "Does your mum have needles and thread? HEY OR we could go find a grown up that will do it. My uncle Plymmy might!" Y'KNOW? As long as they weren't making frankenBIRDS anyways. And besides, if he did it with magic, probably it wouldn't hurt the worms or flobberworms, probably. Maybe. Okay, maybe best NOT to ask uncle Plymouth. He might not be okay with the 'probably' part. He was too nice about things and it got in the way of stuff sometimes. "No actually no grown ups. They won't understand." She'd changed her mind once she heard her own words out loud okay? It happened.

But yeah NEWS. She was absolutely PLEASED AS PUNCH that Davie was understanding of how big of an awesome deal this was. "I know they are SO BIG! Like one that I saw was big enough to go up my WHOLE arm." She held her arm out in illustration so that David could get an appropriate visual. THAT was a big ol' snail!

"I don't think there are birds big enough that eat snails that could do that to a Giant African Snail though!" She fanned herself. This was TOO much. She was overwhelmed by snail thoughts and it was amazing.
