Arithmancy was fast becoming one of his favourite subjects... which seemed crazy to him, and to everyone at home. He had taken the stairs quickly, so it was of little surprise to him that he found the room void of people when he entered. He was early wasn't he?

Sigh.

The room was warm, which was to be expected given the weather, Professor's were so nice with making things comfortable for them. But the candles were completely unexpected. Yep. Whyyyyy were there so many candles in here? Hhhhmmm? Did they have to count them? He could do that, he was sure of it.

Taking a seat, Zeke left his things in his bag for the moment and instead bent his head back so he was staring at the ceiling. And then counting happened.

One... two... three... four, five... six, seven... eight...

Margo was pretty proud of herself in her Arithmancy lessons. She wasn't doing too bad, at least she didn't think so anyway! So bouncing into the next lesson with smile on her face Margo looked around to see if she knew anyone here!

But what she did noticed was that the Professor surely was not. "Where do you think she is?" Margo asked the closest person to her.

Penelope was excited for the arithmancy lesson. It was not one of her best subjects, but she found it interesting. Entering the classroom, she noticed that the room was almost empty. There was no sign of Professor Tanner. It looked like Penelope had arrived early for class. Seeing as she had a few minutes before class, she was going to go use the bathroom before class started. Penelope put her stuff at a desk near the front of the room before exiting the room again. She should get back before class was going to start.

Smiling, Lux made her way to the Arithmancy class. This subject was definitely growing on her over time and Professor Tanner was always so nice.

Speaking of Professor Tanner, where was she? Curiously Lux looked around before heading to her seat. "Hey, guys!" she greeted Zeke and Margo as she passed by.

Ahhh. The corridor was so dark. Darkness meant Adi didn't not need his extra pair of eyes. So, he removed his specs and placed it into one of his robe's pockets. Really, he felt weird without it but he could adjust.

No... wait... no adjusting necessary. The Arithmancy classroom seemed to be bright as ever. The Puffer slipped his glasses back on. Phew! No headache was going to get him today, especially not so early in the morning.

"Hey, Zeke, Margo, Penelope, Lux!'' Now more in the classroom, Adi debated on where to sit. He didn't take long to decide and plopped onto the seat beside Margo. What was that she was asking? Adi looked around the room. No Tanner. Hmmm. "No idea. But I suppose she will be here soon.''

Time for another Arithmancy lesson. He was excited to know what they were gonna learn. Last lesson was really interesting and he learned a lot. He even did well on the homework which was a bonus. As he entered the room he saw some people that were there from last lesson. He smiled at his fellow puffs, one claw and Zeke. He greeted them with a wave and he heard Margo's question and laughed when he passed by. "I think she might have taken the scenic route to the lesson today.." he just suggested it but he would have today. It was quite nice out today.

He felt the warmth of the room and it felt amazing. His fingers were quite cold being in the castle. Once he found his seat, he took out his sketchbook and began to make his famous doodles.

Cilla entered the classroom and looked around, noticing that Professor Tanner was nowhere to be seen. She found a seat at the back of the classroom and waited for the lesson to begin.

Norah perked up slightly as she entered the Arithmancy classroom, not because she was looking forward for feeling dumb for a whole entire lesson, but because warm and cozy things were just the bestest kinds. She lugged her bag along with her as she looked around for Professor Tanner, shrugging and taking the nearest seat when she'd determined she just wasn't in there yet. Huh. The third year placed her textbook, quill, and parchment all neatly on her desk like the MATURE thirteen year old she was, before resting her head on her hands and waiting for Professor Tanner to show up. Or not show up, 'cause it was cozy enough for a nap in here for sure.

The bigger boy snake entered the classroom, snooty smile upon his countenance 'n all that. Cutty held little passions in life, save the mighty- mighty galleon, but Arithmancy was a real contender. The clean and almost cold logic of numbers was something he could appreciate and he'd grown a fondness for Professor Tanner. She was far from an eccentric, but he liked that. It made her more reliable. He stopped midway in his entrance to acknowledge her absence.

He swore the Arithmancy Professor position was cursed.

Briefly, he considered what he would do if she cancelled class and none of what he imagined was very nice.

Further in to the classroom now, Cutty gravitated toward the other snakes and plopped himself down next to little Cilla Ashcroft without so much as a how'dyer do. He was so rude!

Arithmancy class she was running – the Professor was even later than she was, wasn’t she? Puck glanced around the room and was utterly confused…maybe the swamp had swallowed Professor Tanner? Had the swamp gotten THAT big?

Puck glanced around and spotted the little Puff that she had met the other day. “Hey Norah,” she smiled over to the younger girl, “mind if I nap with you?” She grinned over to her.

Cilla saw Cutty Mordaunt sit himself beside her without a word. She wasn't fussed either way so she kept looking at the floating candles. If he wanted to make conversation, fine and if not, that was fine as well.

... nine... te--- Zeke paused, looking down to see who had entered.

DAAMMIIITTT! Lost count. Ugh.

Zeke offered Margo a shrug along with a small smile. "Beats me, she'll be here though." Cause it was totally her job to be here, he wasn't concerned.


But... where was he? Candles?

He didn't even get the chance to look back up because as he had been about to, Lux made her presence known. "Hiiiiiiii," he greeted in return.

But yes. Now. NOW he would count them ALL!!!

Before he knew it, ANOTHER voice greeted him. It was easy enough to ignore the others, but Adi was always so nice, so he gave the guy a wave and a, "Hellooooo." Yep Hellooooo cause just a Hello wasn't going to be enough.

Knowing his luck he'd be interrupted again, so Zeke officially gave up on trying to count the candles, instead he took to wondering what they were going to be doing today.

Arithmancy wasn't one of Hady's stronger subjects but she hadn't done to badly in the last lesson. So today as she made her way down the halls she wasn't in to bad of a mood. Stepping inside the classroom the first thing she noticed upon the fact that other people were already there was the lack of Professor Tanner. She was probably running late.

Not to bothered by it the young Slytherin found herself an empty seat near the front of the room and slid into it. Removing her quill, parchment and textbook placing them neatly on her desk she then set her bag at her feet. Alrighty then she was set to began whenever the lesson started.

Arithmancy was actually a lesson that Angel was starting to enjoy, she looked around and smiled as she walked into the classroom. "Goo...." Angel stopped, so the Professor wasn't hear yet that was a bit odd. She had been sure the Professor would have been at the front of the class ready for them all.

Angel decided that the best thing to do would be to find a desk and sit down and wait for the Professor to arrive... Angel went and sat down and waited for the Professor, she kept glancing around the room trying to figure out if she was hiding behind something but she couldn't see anything

Janelle arrived for Arithmancy class a little later than she'd intended. Thank Merlin she wasn't actually late and it seemed like Professor Tanner was nowhere to be found. Seeing a number of her friends, Janelle gave a wave and an enthusuastic, "Hi", to all. Finding the first empty seat, she plopped down into it and began to unpack her things. She would need a few minutes to get her mind ready for Arithmancy. It would require her focus and a lot more. Once she felt ready, Janelle leaned back in her chair and allowed herself to relax.

Penelope quietly entered the arithmancy classroom again. More people had arrived since she had left the room. There was still no sign of Professor Tanner. Sitting down at the seat at the front of the class where she had left her belongings, Penelope got out parchment, quills, and ink. She was ready for class. Now all they needed was a few more students and the professor.

Another arithmancy class and Benny was back at the second floor classroom. Stepping inside the room he looked around at the people already there, noting only students and no professor present as of yet. So no proper greeting was needed. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen Tanner since they had come back up from the Chamber of Secrets after their little adventure below the girl's bathroom.

Interesting.

He did see both Adi and Angel there already, moving to take a seat beside Angel this time around. "Hey..." he greeted his besting in passing before sitting down, echoing it with another "Hello," towards his girlfriend with a small smile.

She wasn't late yet, was she? And why was it so dark in the corridors? This wasn't going to be another snow thing was it? AJ had almost lost her mind the year that they were cooped up in the castle because of rude snow. No, it couldn't be that. Once she walked into the classroom it was much better. No need to freak out.

Her eyes searched for the professor, but she was nowhere to be found. Hmm. This wasn't the first time a professor wasn't present so she didn't think too much into it. Next, her eyes searched the classroom. Lots of familiar faces. Instead of waving to each individual person she waved in general. Her brain still wasn't functioning properly just yet being that it was early. At least it was early for her.

AJ went and plopped lazily in a seat next to Adi. She opened her mouth to say hello, but a yawn had come out instead. That was about as much effort as she was putting into that.

A strange, rhythmic, whirring noise could be heard in the classroom, faint at first but growing louder by the second. It could easily be dismissed as a rogue Fanged Frisbee flying about, or perhaps Peeves up to his usual antics - that is, until Professor Tanner made her entrance on the source of the sound.

It was unusual for Tiara to don muggle clothing, even if it was just pants, but robes certainly were not in the cards for today if she wanted to stay upright. "Gooooooood morning, class!" said the mobile professor. "It's good to see you all!" she continued, making a lap around the outside of the desks. Finally she made it back up front and dismounted flawlessly. "Welcome to another Arithmancy lesson! Ideas on what topic I could possibly be alluding to by my mode of transportation to class today?" They may as well get it right out in the open now, since they were sure to all be wondering what she could've been thinking.

Angel had no idea what the lesson could be about but she decided that she would give it a guess, it had a wheel and the answer she was going to give was about a wheel. Angel raised her hand and smiled as she guessed. "Are we going to learn about the Wheel of Fortune?"

Janelle was wondering where Professor Tanner was and when she would arrive. Suddenly she heard an odd noise that seemed to be getting closer by the second. She was surprised to see the Professor appear.......on a unicycle. Well that was certainly an entrance that Professor Glendower would appreciate.

Before Janelle knew it, the questions began. She wasn't sure how to answer, but she was determined to give it a try. Raising her hand, she tried to make sense of her thoughts. "Professor, you're riding a unicycle. It's called that because it has one wheel." That was the only conection that Janelle could make between the unicycle and Arithmancy. "Are you going to be focusing on the number one today?" As soon as Janelle said it, she realized that her answer didn't make any sense. It had sounded so good in her head a minute ago.

Adi mouthed back 'Hi' to Janelle after she greeted him just as Benny arrived and greeted him too. "Hiya, Benny.'' Choosing to sit next to Angel who had seemed to make it a habit of not even saying hi to him whenever they got to classes? Alrightey then. He didn't have to be thinking about who would be occupying the seat next to him because the next thing he knew was someone was planting themselves there. His girlfriend. Cool! Sitting between two of his favourite girls. "Hel-'' O__O "Please don't swallow me.'' Hehe. "Tired much?"

And what was that sound? Adi tilted his head, trying to figure out what it was.It was coming closer and closer... and into the class. Ohh! It was Tanner. Nice entrance! "Morning, Professor!'' Professor entrances always made him so much interested in what the topic would be. Buuuut, he had no idea about this one. Er... he was drawing a blank here. Could he get creative here?

"Um... Are we going to be focusing on single digit numbers today? Since there's only one wheel...'' Heh. What a lame guess.

The cheery brightness of the classroom wasn't quite reaching Toby today. He was, for lack of a better term, all doom and gloom. He was sat at his desk tapping his quill, looking up at Tanner's empty desk when he heard what he thought sounded like a bicycle.

The Hufflepuff looked around to the door as Tanner entered on what appeared to be a unicycle and blinked as she did a lap. She was very... cheerful. Toby kept watching right up until the professor ended up at the front of the room. Uhhh... what could they be doing that was to do with... that? Something to do with the number one? Because... one wheel? He didn't know. Not a clue.

Eventually, after thinking for a long while about any of the numbers that might apply here, Toby raised his hand. "Hidden Passion Number?" he said flatly, looking back to the unicycle.

What? It could make sense.

Ezra had barely made it into the classroom before he heard a sound behind him, something coming up fast. He darted to his desk, dropping his Arithmancy book in the process. He had just barely picked it up before Professor Tanner almost ran it over on her unicycle!

SHE WAS A CARNIE AND A PROFESSOR?!

Quickly finding his seat so he wouldn't be in the way anymore, the Gryffindor raised his hand to answer her questions. "Professor, is there maybe some kind of Arithmancy that can be done with the number of tire rotations?" That could be something, right?
