Dervish and Banges is a small, dusky little outlet located at the end of the street in Hogsmeade. Squatting between a few wooden pillars painted to look like marble, the green and gold building seems to be more of a remodeled mausoleum than a Wizarding place of business. As you enter the hideous, peeling green door and inhale the thick scent of sawdust and mildew, you'll likely question whether or not the shop actually was a mausoleum at some point.

Squeaky floorboards, musty smells, and creepy feelings aside, the place may appear to be in an eternal state of decay, but the sagging shelves stocked full of shiny, brand or like-new knickknacks say otherwise. The shop sells both new and reconditioned items of both the Wizard and Muggle variety, such as...
Do-It-Yourself Cauldron Repair Kits (or for a fee, D&B will do it for you!)

Take your time, walk around, pick up one of the coupons off the back counter, and try to not be intimidated by that looming shopkeeper just behind it at the back. He doesn't talk much, but he's got it where it counts, kid. Oh, and don't steal anything. Roundhouse kicks to the face are not fun....for you.

'Twas about that time weren't it? Saul had the date circled in red on the big calendar in the back room of his shop. Hogsmeade weekend for the little 'uns back at Hogwarts. It was something of a double edged sword for the ol' shopkeeper, he did rely on the kiddos somewhat for a portion of his income, but they also had the tendency to grate on his nerves, what with the wanting to touch everything and darn near braking his valuable merchandise. He was seriously thinking about a 'ya break it, ya bought it' policy around here.

Once he opened up the shop for business for the day, Saul meandered around the place, straightening knick knacks and wiping fingerprints off the remembralls. He had a few old coupons he set in a pile on the counter near the register for the takin' as well. Might get the kids buying a few things with the discount. Taking a seat behind the counter, he grabbed a block of wood and his whittling knife, and waited for the first few to enter his shop.

Hmm. What was he even doing here? Oh, right! Getting away from people that he didn't like. Marcellus scratched him head as he walked into the shop. He knew that he didn't need anything in here and he could tell by the lack of people that no one else had an interest in being here either. The best thing that could ever happen to Hogsmeade would be a dance all or a club. Yeah! Something fun instead of something old and dusty. It was already bad enough that they had to do schooling in a dusty old classroom. Did anyone have classes outside or in a different location anymore? Herbology and Astronomy were the only ones that he noticed that were attended at different locations. More Astronomy than Herbology but greenhouses were odd enough for a class to be located in so it totally counted in his mind. Marcel walked around a few aisles here and there but nothing really caught his eye.

Braedon was told by his cousins that he needed to visit Dervish and Banges before he left. He wanted to know what all the buzz was about. He went into the store and saw one dude was in here and the shopkeeper. He went into the shelves and was looking through the merchandise. He remembered Kace wanted an omniocular for Christmas but he never knew what they were. He examined it and wondered how in the bloody hell were you supposed to use it. He was awkwardly looking into it but couldn't figure it out. He put it down and looked at the remembralls and he held it and saw red smoke formed. He wondered what the red smoke meant? Ah well he put it down.

He then saw a dude he thought he recognized. He thought he might look at him. He went closer to him and said, "Do I know you from somewhere..?" He shook his head. "Sorry that was rude but I feel like I have seen you from somewhere.."

Where was Fern? Brynn wasn't sure how it happened but she ended up losing Fern in the crowd after they left the Three Broomsticks. One minute she turned to say hi to one of the girls from her dorm, the next minute she turned back and her BFFL was gone. The redhead had searched the street a few moments, asking around but no luck Maybe she should get off the street and look in one of the shops. It was entirely plausible that Fern had gone into one thinking Brynn was behind her, right?

Pushing open the door to Dervish and Banges, Brynn slowly walked in looking around. She had never been in this store before and it looked old. And dusty. But there seemed to be remotely interesting things here. She picked up a pair of omnioculars and held them up to her eyes a moment before replacing them on the shelf and lifting her brown eyes again. No sign of Fern yet. In fact, the store was nearly empty except for a couple of boys. Tucking a lock of red hair behind her ear, she approached. "Hey, guys.." she began, not really wanting to interrupt. "Have you seen a dark haired girl about my height around.. wearing really cute platform heeled boots?" That was descriptive enough, wasn't it?

The newly fifteen year old look at some of the odds and ends in this shop. What was this place even about? Marcellus rolled his eyes and walked towards the do to get out of here.

The Slytherin just walked around and when he was about to leave this place he had heard a voice. "I dunno, probably. I go to school in that big castle up there." Marcellus said in a bit of an annoyed tone. Most of the students here go to Hogwarts so why would it be that hard to figure out how he had seen his face. "I'm Marcel Duchannes." There introduction to the awesome person that he was with an even awesomer name to go along with all of this.

Marcellus blinked when a girl popped up out of nowhere. Who the hell was she? Should he know who she is? Was she even important enough to know. He narrowed his blue eyes at the girl. "No I haven't. I don't think I even know about the girl that you're talking about." If this girl was hot then he would know if he had seen her but going by what this girl is telling the two of them this girl must not be so hot. Just a plain Jane. "Does this girl you're looking for have a name?"

"Does this girl you're looking for have a name?"

Braedon was liking this dude's tone. He smirked and thought he did ask an obvious but he wanted to clarify. "Well mate I am not from around Hogwarts. I actually went to Durmstrang for a bit but I am going to Hogwarts soon. But you look like one of my flat mate's from home." He didn't want any more rambling or anything. As he was looking for stuff he heard his last name. He heard it before. Wait a minute....Duchannes. That named clicked somewhere. Where did he hear it before? Then it hit him!

It was Kace's girlfriends name. He snapped his fingers and pointed, "I think my cousin Kace is dating your sister.." He didnt' want to be rude he was just happy he figured it out.

Then he got interrupted by a girl who was asking a question. Braedon had never seen her before. He gave her a quizzical look and heard Marcel's answer and thought it was a bit harsh but he may have answered the same way. He went up to the girl and shook his head. "I have not seen a dark hair girl wearing platform heeled boots.." he trailed off. He wondered what in the bloody merlin were platform heeled boots. He only knew few certain fashion choices. He agreed with Marcel on his question. "Yeah what is her name?" He doubt he would know her face.

Brynn blinked as she heard the two boy's speak. Wow.. was it really that hard to answer a simple yes or no question and be polite? She wasn't even asking for friendly, just common courtesy. But apparently so as the two acted almost offended that anybody speak to them. Whatever. Their annoying attitudes were the least of her concern. But she nearly laughed at the answer from the one guy. He was sure he wouldn't know who she as talking about? "Because you don't know any dark-haired girls..?" she started, giving him an unimpressed, disbelieving look. Because that was basically all she had given them in description so how would he know if he knew her or not. "Or do you just not know any girls at all?"

Obviously they hadn't seen her friend and that was really all she was interested in. Not if they knew her, just if she had come this way. "Thanks anyway," she said flatly, turning away from them and looking out the window. Now, she really needed to figure out what to do next. Wander the street or try a different store? She took a moment, looking out the window to see if she could see her, then glanced at the boys out of the corner of her eye to answer their question. "Her name is Fern." Not sure why it mattered anyway. They apparently didn't know any dark haired girls and they hadn't seen her. Why would they need to know her name?

Braedon raised his eyebrows at the girls attitude. "No I did not see any dark haired girls because that is totally what I wanted to do today.." he replied sarcastically. He chuckled and replied back to this girl, "I know way more girls than you may think but I am not friends with girls younger than me." He went back to browsing the shelves and let Marcel deal with her before he said anything else. But at least he knew her name was Fern but it made no difference. He never seen her or knew of her. He was only here for a little while anyways then he was back off the Australia.
