Olly slammed the door behind her with a little more force than originally intended. Okay good. At least she was alone now. Let's see if she coooouuuld.....okay, no it seemed she COULDN'T in fact lock the door from the inside. Crap!

After taking a few steps backwards and away from the door, Olly eventually turned around to look around. Ah yes. It smelled like food in here at least.

After trying to wipe the blood off of his mouth, Ezra swung the hidden door to the Kitchens open and popped his head in.

"YOU!" He said pointing a finger and extending his whole tiny arm in the process at the older girl. "Why'd you go and slam the door and then make me fall!?" It wasn't HER fault technically that he fell but he wouldn't have run had he not thought she was going to lock him out. The look she gave him was evidence enough of that!

Maybe he could convince a House Elf to sock her in the mouth so they'd be even. At least keep food from her.

His mouth hurt but he was NOT going to cry! Nope.

Oh, there he was.

Or at least Olly assumed that it was the little boy when she heard the door open again. She didn't actually turn around at first. No, she was looking at the plates some of the house elves were carrying. Would they allow her to steal some of the food on those plates? If she asked nicely. Because she COULD be nice. If she wanted to.

While she did of course hear his words, Olly didn't face him right away. After waiting a few seconds longer, she did turn around however to raise her eyebrows at him. "It's really not my fault you don't know how to walk." Her eyes briefly flicked to his bleeding lip before meeting his gaze again.

He didn't honestly expect her to feel bad about this, did he?

"I wasn't walking I was running!" HAH. See she wasn't even smart. Well he didn't know that for sure but he was going to assume that was true.

He looked around for a minute and then found a napkin on a nearby counter that he held to his lip under his nose. The bleeding would stop maybe? HOPEFULLY? He could turn into a dried up old raisin of a boy because of this girl WHO KNEW?! The smell of the House Elves' food slightly lessened his anger though, the girl didn't seem sorry so there wasn't much point in trying to make her. He couldn't exactly fight her. He didn't know any good spells yet and she was bigger than him even though she was a girl.

"Who are you anyway? Are you a Hufflepuff?" Just because she was down here not because of anything else really. She was probably a Slytherin. He'd heard the stereotypes of them.

That....really wasn't worth a reply. It didn't matter whether he'd been running or walking. Fact was, he'd faceplanted onto the floor and had managed to hurt his lip in the process. Olly just raised her eyebrows at him and gave him an unimpressed look. Your point?

Olly remained standing where she was for a moment longer before turning and walking to one of the counters. Now if only there was food lying around. Maybe she should've brought Elodie. They would've definitely found food together. Plus, she was a Prefect.

He'd not met many Hufflepuff yet, really none apart from the Prefect girl who'd given him what he assumed she meant as an encouraging thumbs up in Potions after he'd set fire to some of his ingredients but what he took as an embarrassment. This one hadn't done much to help lay Hufflepuff any ground work in his mind.

"I'm a Gryffindor." the first year put in, because she needed to know. He was.

Did it? Huh. Olly wasn't exactly sure what about her was hufflepuff-y but she just shrugged. If he said so. His next words got him her attention though. She turned back to look at him with an amused smirk playing around her lips. "Yeah?" It wasn't exactly a secret that it was around here but not everyone knew where exactly it was. Interesting.

A Gryffindor. "My girlfriend's a Gryffindor." There, she was in a sharing mood.

Oh well...that wasn't very precise. "There's lots of things down that corridor." Olly smirked at him again, feeling just a little bit smug about the whole thing. So apparently he didn't quiiiite know where their common room was. "I know where yours is, though." Hah!

Louis had many hobbies. Reading, skateboarding, photography, drinking…
And cooking. This, he usually reserved for his girlfriend. Or sometimes Lady Lux when she wanted cupcakes or cucumber sandwiches. So it was safe to say he was preeetty excited about today’s cooking lesson.

“It’s right here,” he said, turning to Paloma with a smile as he led the way into the kitchen. It was just as grand as he remembered it last term and, best of all, nearly empty. Which meant he and Paloma didn’t have to share ingredients or counter space with anyone.

“What do you think?” he asked as they walked in, snatching an apple from one of the fruit baskets on the tables.

...why did she have to mention the candies?

...why did she say she knew how to make them?

All Paloma hoped was that Louis would understand and enjoy her lesson on how to make traditional candies, because she just felt helpless the moment she was asked to teach him. But then...

As she entered the Kitchen, just behind Louis, her eyes glittered at the vast space there, the ingredients surrounding them, the pots, EVERYTHING. "I thought I was grateful when you showed me the Room of Requirement, but this...Lou, is..." She couldn't finish the sentence; a loud beam came instead then ran around the kitchen looking for the pots and all ingredients necessary for the lesson. "Hope you're ready for this...it'll take a while." Yeah, two hours, of specific training.

But for Louis, her friend, she would do anything.

Louis grinned brightly as Paloma took in the sight of the kitchen with obvious admiration in her green eyes. “I assume La Señorita approves?” He chuckled softly, then allowed his amusement to grow into a laugh as Paloma began running around the room, already beginning to gather the ingredients and materials necessary for their lesson. It was almost like she’d been in this kitchen every day of her life, the way she was able to find everything so quickly.

“Whoa, slow down, Tiny.” He walked over to where she stood by the counter top and, with a wave of his wand, conjured up two aprons and two chefs’ hats. “Won’t we need these first?” Grin.

"There is." Ezra said trying to sound as legit as possible. He had a feeling that the girl thought she knew that he didn't really know. He couldn't let this girl thinks she knew more than him. But the next statement from her lips was enough to make his mouth drop for a second. WHAT?! "Hmm well, a lot of people do. But you don't know the password so there's that." YEAH.

Schuyler. Nope he didn't meet her yet. The Gryffindor turned his head to the side slightly as the Hufflepuff described her and covered his mouth to keep himself from giggling when she said HOT. SHE SAID IT! The girl was HOT? Woah.

"So she's older, like you. Like a sixth year or something?" He asked curiously. "The only older girls I've met so far are Penelope and Alexa. I'm a first year." he added quickly.

Paloma grinned and hummed an 'Absolute Yes' to Lou as she took milk, sugar, baking powder and baking sheets. "Amazing. This is amazing..." She was about to express all her guts in Spanish when he motioned to the aprons and chefs' hats.

She nodded. She giggled. "True, that...You read my mind." She said with a smirk. Although, she had completely forgotten about that! "You'd be a great sou-chef, Cat Boy!" She was honestly giving him the compliments, taking the apron and the hat, and taking her time to put them on.

"Now...after you put on that apron and hat, get some wooden spoons, large handle wooden spoons..." She specified, since she couldn't find smaller boiling pots.

Louis smiled warmly as Paloma expressed her approval. He was glad to see her so happy, as it was kind of still his responsibility she had a good time at Hogwarts. Or so he believed. “You think so?” he asked with a raised eyebrow as Paloma complimented him. Huh. Maybe he should consider becoming a chef, then. He was rather clueless about his future anyway.

The boy tied the apron around his waist and placed the hat on his head as Paloma instructed him to get wooden spoons. “Large handle wooden spoons. Got it.” With a nod, the obedient little Catboy went off in the search of large wooden spoons. A minute later, he returned with a handful. They probably only needed two but whatever, here were four in case one broke or something?

Assuring her statement, "Sure! But, I mean, it's your choice. And everyone around you should respect what you do after Hogwarts." Paloma felt secure to tell this to her friend, WHY? "But let's see how you do today..." She playfully smiled, putting the pot on the fire and standing just in front of the stove thinking the steps through to make the delicate treat.

Once Lou came with four of them, she nodded. "Well...I guess we could use all the hands possible." And they could also perform magic, which made it even easier, less painful, less...boring.

"Now, come stand here beside me...and look at the ingredients we have..." She pointed towards the two liters of milk, the kilo of sugar, the cinnamon powder and the baking powder. "These three, we'll use them for the preparation, then the nuts..." She pulled out a bag of them out of her purse, "They'll be for the presentation. Got that?" She was not expecting him to learn all this at the first try...but he was a very clever CatBoy, for sure.

“Wise words from a Tiny Dancer,” Lou said with a smile, playfully poking the girl, though he really appreciated her support. She was right, maybe this would be a good path for him to take. Who knew. At her following words, he nodded determinedly. “This is my first test as chef, then?”

As Paloma instructed him to stand beside her and look at the ingredients, Lou did just as he was ordered, the playful sparkle leaving his blue eyes as his expression turned more serious, more concentrated. His eyebrows furrowed the way they always did when he was thoughtful, as Paloma pointed out which ingredients they’d be using for the preparation.

And then she pulled out a bag of nuts from her purse. Louis raised an eyebrow. “Do you always carry a bag of nuts with you?” he asked with a chuckle, though he was quick to put on a serious expression and nod his head. “Got it.”

“So, which of these should we start mixing first?”

Melek came into the kitchen and started to look around for a snack. She had ink on her fingers and some streaked across her nose. Mel had been studying and came down to the kitchen for some brain fuel. She didnt know what she wanted yet but she wanted something sweet and sugary... maybe ice-cream or even a milkshake. Her hair was in a messy ponytail and her uniform was wrinkled. Elouan, her kneazle, had wandered beside her and now sat at Mel's feet, licking her paw. "Elouan, do you want some food as well?" She glanced down at her kneazle before hunting around for food again.

As she felt the poke, Paloma just grinned and nodded. "Hey, take advantage. All knowledge is good if you use it in the right way, to benefit others in a way..." Especially the ones you loved. "Here we go..." She whispered, pulling up the sleeve.

Holding a most possible snort, she observed Lou looking at everything around them. When asked about the nuts, she chuckled, "As a matter of fact, I always carry some sort of dried fruit with me. It's instant energy and natural, if you need the feel to keep awake..." And then she cleared her throat, it was time to be a teacher, to get her point through.

"First, before we mix anything, please picture the final product. Close your eyes." She immediately ordered, thinking through about the description of the treat.

"It is made of milk, and lots of sugar and cinnamon...therefore, it'll be creamy, sweet, yet it will have the enough consistency as if it was a chocolate bar. Now, picture the nut piece over the candy, stuck to it...and giving it presentation." She was just imagining it herself, it made her hungry.

Bay made his way to the kitchens, his true second home. THERE WAS FOOD, so he was here all the time. Walking into the room he spotted a younger girl with a pet.. it looked like a kneazle, so he was glad that Ziggy was up in his dorm. "hey, cute friend you have there" he smiled at the girl as to try not to scare her.

Okay, how old was Paloma again? ‘Cause seriously, she was beginning to sound like a prophet who’d lived one eon too many. It wasn’t a bad thing, though. It was just… impressive. She was amazingly mature for her age. Sometimes he forgot he was the older of the two.

Lou’s eyebrows raised at the bit of knowledge Paloma proceeded to share with him about nuts and dried fruit. Now, there was something he wanted to keep in mind; Merlin knew with his late night skating sessions with Jun lately, the boy wasn’t getting the sleep his body craved anymore. And it made staying alert in classes a little more challenging.

Louis raised an eyebrow at the next instruction. Imagine the final product? He wasn’t even sure what they were making. He knew it was candy, but he’d never heard of this type of candy before. Soooo… he’d just try his best. Closing his blue eyes, the Gryffindor tried his best to imagine whatever would result from this array of ingredients.

The image in his mind became clearer as Paloma began describing the most delicious, mouth-watering candy he could possibly imagine. WAS SHE TRYING TO KILL HIM? The boy could almost feel his stomach growl at the imaginary food. He wasn’t even hungry! Opening his eyes, Louis turned to Paloma, who looked deep in concentration. “Can we start? Please?” He just wanted to eat already.

She looked up startled at a guy's voice that seemed to be aimed at her. Melek looked at her kneazle then looked at the guy, beaming. "Thanks. This is Elouan and I am Melek or Mel." MEl held out an ink- covered hand, not realizing that it had ink on it... or not remembering that it has ink on it. Melek had to look up at the guy since she was 4 feet 2 inches and he seemed to be in the upper years. "Do you recommend anything to snack on whi

Looking at Lou with his eyes closed and imagine the candy was hilarious, and more it turned as he enthusiastically motioned them to began the work. "Alright, then...pour the two liters of milk into the pot, and immediately pour the sugar...the whole kilo." There she was specifying the treat was to be really...really mouthwatering sweet.

With that instruction, she took one of the wooden spoons and gave it to him, then took one for her. "It is time to mix this whole thing, turn it into a paste as we stirr...." She said, showing him to do so counter-clockwise. "And in this case, since we can use magic...you can give it a charm..." She raised her eyebrow, thinking on how to tell Lou that they had to wait...

Two hours.

*gulp*

Obediently, Louis picked up the two jars filled with milk and poured them into the pot, a second later proceeding to dump the whole kilo of sugar in there as well. Though he was quite excited for the treat to be as sugary as possible, he couldn’t help glancing a little unsurely in Paloma’s direction. Really? The WHOLE kilo? How big was this candy going to be?!

As the Ravenclaw then handed him one of the wooden spoons, Louis began to stir the mix counter-clockwise as she had instructed. Until she said they could use magic. OH. OF COURSE. “I like the way you think.” He gave his friend a smile and pulled out his wand, giving the spoon a little tap and grinning as it began to stir all on its own, in the same direction Lou had been doing it before.

And now for the moment of truth.

“So, how long does this usually take?”
