Transfiguration 1- It's a Jungle Out There

As usual Transfiguration is one of the first lesson for the day. It was bright and early in the morning, when the air was still quite crisp and cool and dew was still on the grass. The classroom door is wide open and as usual the classroom is spotless and there is the slight smell of a coconut aroma in the air. The desks and chairs are in perfect order and there might even be a slight gleam to them. Yep immaculate. There was a difference though, there were a few plants in the room, actually more than a few in the corners and the professor wasn't in her usual office looking attire. There is also a large pile of wood to the front corner as while as a pile of vines next to it.

You know the routine, come in and take your place at a seat. New comers, if you don't know what to do look and learn.

Bellaire was waiting for you.

TakemetotheBurrow 01-07-2014 10:29 PM

Clean uniform? Check! Neat hair? Always. Ready for Bellaire? Mhm.

Ella wandered into the room and stopped when she spotted the transfiguration professor, giving her a polite smile. "Hello, Professor Bellaire." It was good to be back, even if she was sort of frightened of this woman. She gave off a bit of a 'fabulous but evil' vibe, yeah? Completely.

Stopping by a seat in the middle of the room, the head girl stood and waited for class to begin. The plants and scent in the room hadn't escaped her either, by the way. Jungle themed lesson or?

Toucan never have too many plants in the classroom, that's for sure. Ain't no lion about that.

Bri walked into the Transfiguration classroom, she was one of the first students there. She will admit that this is not what she expected the classroom to look like. The young brunette gave a little shrug, before walking towards a desk. She almost sat down before remembering what someone told her about the rules in this class. The First year Hufflepuff, not wanting to get into trouble, blushed slightly before straightening up, and pushing the chair back, and stood behind it She glanced up at the professor, "Good Morning Professor Bellaire" She said softly, hoping she got the name right

This would be the first class of her seventh year. She was going to actually try to enjoy herself as much as possible. As soon as she walked in she noticed a coconut smell. It reminded her of a day on the beach. The second thing that caught her eye was that their were plants and quite a few of them. What was the wood and vines for?

She seemed to be early so she walked to a seat, but not before greeting the professor. "Hello professor." That was that. She took a seat next to the front of the class this time. She would be taking her newts before she knew it and she wasn't going to waste any time.

Yep yep. Transfiguration. Tag had to pay better attention in this class. He was dreadful at it. Literally. That had been his owl score. That's what happened when the mind started to wander in class. But not anymore. Let's hope.

Anyway the blonde decided to arrive early for class and made his way to the room, he didn't see anything too odd about it so it deemed not suspicious. After all the previous attacks in classrooms and Hogwarrs over the past few years Tag had always been on the lookout. Coming into the room Tag passed the Professor and gave her a simple, " Hello Professor" before finding a desk to sit at.

Time to transfigure stuff and what not.

One of the first lessons of the day and Alec had decided to be early. Why? Bellaire. That... explained everything.

Standing outside the classroom, the boy took extra precaution in making sure that his uniform looked... presentable. Everything was smooth, badge was pinned on correctly and facing the right way. And his hair? He was going to trust it to keep looking the way it usually did. He had spent a little longer on it than he had ought to earlier on in the day.

Nobody needed to know that.

Once that was done, Alec stepped into the classroom and had a quick look around. ... Clean? That wasn't surprising. What was surprising -- or just different -- were the plants that were dotted around the classroom. And the pile of wood. Should he ask? ... Probably not. Instead, he'll just... greet. Yeah. "Good morning, Professor!" he called, giving her a smile and a small wave. Heading over towards a seat in the middle of the classroom, the boy stood behind it and waited.

... Wait... what was that smell?

As one of those morning people that is widely known and often annoying to all, Toby had no problems with his morning classes. He'd been up for hours, as per his usual routine, and thus was bouncy and happy and neat and with perfectly styled hair as he made his way into the classroom immediately following breakfast.

It had kind of become a custom to check the room as he entered, because at Hogwarts it was perfectly normal for classrooms to sometimes look... well... abnormal. The Hufflepuff noted the plants and the waft of coconut that hit him as he entered the room and he beamed over at the professor.

"Good morning, Professor Bellaire," the young Hufflepuff greeted the lady, affording her a slight wave. "I hope you had an awesome summer."

After making his way through the classroom, and beaming at Ella and Alec as he passed them, Toby soon found a chair (one at the side, by the windows, his favourite place to sit), and stood behind it, waiting.

Adelaide made sure to straighten out her uniform and pull her hair back in a ponytail today for Transfiguration. It was getting long and it was kind of getting in the way at this point. Not to mention it somehow made her feel like she was being neater. She plastered a smile on her face and entered the classroom.

"Morning professor." She smiled and went and grabbed a seat before taking in everything around the classroom. There were plants and lots of 'em. Also Bellaire was a little more dressed down than usual. Huh. What was going on?

Anna Banana 01-07-2014 10:43 PM

Sophie did an inner eyeroll as she approached the classroom. She still thought this professor was full of herself. What other reason would there be for making them stand by their desks and sit on command? Whatever. Commands were for crups.

Nevertheless, Sophie didn't want to lose points so early on in the school year, so abide by the rules it would be. She entered the room and passed by the professor. "Hello, Professor," she said. Then she chose a random seat and went to stand by it.

UGH. She felt like such a crup.

Emma strolled into the classroom, taking in a whiff of the faint smell of coconut. Ah yes. Transfiguration. She was in her comfort zone. "Hello Professor, did you enjoy your summer break?" She asked cheerfully before picking her place. Wow. Plants. Those were new. Perhaps they were hinting at something involving the lesson.. or maybe the professor had a newly founded love for plants? Hmmm...

Well. If anything, Emma knew this class was going to be interesting.

Alexa was still frantically trying to brush the last of the knots from her hair even as she hurried down the corridor to the first class of the day, Transfiguration. Of course it would be the first class. Of course it would be bloody early. The grounds didn't even look awake from what she saw, passing a few windows on the way down. The Gryffindor winced as she yanked at the brush. Someone remind her why the lady cared how they looked when they entered her class again.

Just at the door, Lex drew immediate brakes, took the scrunchie from her mouth and pulled her hair into the neatest ponytail she could manage without a mirror, gave her uniform one final look over then stepped into the classroom.

"G'morning Professor." She said, giving as a bright a smile as she could given the unholy hours. Seriously, classes before 10 were a no. Lex walked to a seat somewhere to the side of the room and stood behind it, having been used to this by now. Okay. Now someone explain the plants to her. It was confuzzling.

Shanners 01-07-2014 10:51 PM

Waiting to be told to sit was her least favourite part of this class. Actually...it could have just been the fact that being told to do things was her least favourite part of everything. Wasn't she supposed to be making her own decisions and choooose what she wanted to do with her life? Sitting was one of those things.

Elodie headed into the classroom and raised a hand to wiggle her fingers in recognition of the professor. "Happy new school year, Professor." Good morning, hello, whichever she'd like to take from that. And onwards the sixth year headed toward the back of the class and stood herself behind a desk and properly looked at her surroundings.

......... Did Professor Bellaire know she wasn't teaching Herbology? Gross.

Time for bed again? Yes please.

Lissy Longbottom 01-07-2014 10:56 PM

As Caleb first entered the room, he thought that he might be in the wrong class. This was Transfiguration and not HERBOLOGY, yes? What on Earth could they possibly be doing with that wood and the vines and stuff? Setting it on fire?

That was the only thing he could think of. He might have been too involved in that Muggle Studies last term involving campfires.

"Morning Professor," he said sleepily to Bellaire as he entered. Right. He needed some coffee or something.

Somnium 01-07-2014 10:56 PM

Melek made sure that she looked absolutely spotless and that every last hair was in place. Mel didnt want to make the professor angry. She came into the room and her eyes grew as she looked around then went up to the professor. "Hello, Professor." Melek held out a bag of candy for the professor to take. Yep, ever since the meanie Potions Master snapped at her, she has been planning on sucking up to every professor that she could. "I hope you like them." She started to back away.

By some miracle, Sophie had gotten on Bellaire's good side last term by being an impressive first year who read the rules in the syllabus before coming to class, but that hadn't made the Ravenclaw like the woman. At all. She was a bit scary and intimidating, actually, and Transfiguration wasn't one of Sophie's best subjects, so all of that counted against her. Plus, the expectation to be as prim and proper as a princess upon arrival always made her a little nervous - she wasn't afraid of losing points, but she did not enjoy the thought of a professor calling her out on messiness in the middle of class. Even though the Grey Lady had already done something similar this term and Sophie usually couldn't care less about what people thought of her. But being talked down to by an authority figure? Unfathomable.

Regardless, Sophie had done her best to be as neat as she possibly could before arriving at the Transfiguration classroom. She sniffed a few times - there was a nice, fresh smell in the room and... wow. Lots of plants. It looked like she had just stepped into some kind of jungle. Had she missed a memo? Should she have dressed more for an adventure?

It didn't seem that way, looking around at the other students. Or, at least, if she was in the wrong, everyone else was, too. "Good morning, professor," she greeted, sounding a bit more cheery than she felt as she stood by a desk near the back of the classroom close to the windows. To make an easy escape, of course, if tragedy struck and one of those vine-looking plants turned out to be a snake. Blech.

SakuraMochi 01-07-2014 11:07 PM

Haruka walked into the Transfiguration classroom and looked around. It was...tidy. Very tidy, actually. Everything was spotless and the desks and chairs were in perfect order. There was also a lot of plants. Why so many plants? They don't really go with a clean classroom. Haruka shook her head slightly to clear the rambling of her thoughts.

Walking over to introduce herself to the professor, Haruka was careful not to bump into anything or anyone. Better to not attract much attention. She took a breath and smiled at the woman. "Good morning, Professor. I'm Haruka Kaze. It's nice to meet you." She added a nod to her greeting, and then went to go find a seat and wait for class to begin.

Cassirin 01-07-2014 11:10 PM

Professor Bellaire did NOT like one Marcus Branxton, which was probably ironic in a way... the only person he really knew that actively disliked him was someone he needed to get along with at least through his NEWT year. He did his part, though, dressing neatly and showing up for class early in order not to raise her ire.

He even nodded politely as he entered the room, and if his "Good day, Professor," was a little stiff, she couldn't fault him for that. Mo took up a spot at a desk near the middle of the room, giving a short nod to Ella and Alec without smiling.

It smelled like sunscreen potion in here.

Transfiguartion! One of the most frustrating but thoroughly enjoyable lessons for Adi. He noticed the plants the moment he stepped into the room as well as the other stuff. "Hello, good day, Professor!'' he said to the woman.

Adi went to find a seat. Not to sit for he still remembered her rule. Instead, he stood next to a table and waited for her to address the class.

Goblinfrog 01-07-2014 11:12 PM

Raven followed the crowd of students to the first lesson of the year: Transfiguration. As usual she was a little nervous but also curious about what they would learn. A pleasant smell was coming from the classroom, and when she came inside she was surprised to see so the wood pile and the vines. If she didn't remember that this was transfiguration, then she would think this was herbology.

"Morning professor!" And she stood behind her chair.

Weasley174 01-07-2014 11:15 PM

*she got dared*

Laura wasn't sure if this was a good idea but it was a dare and she didn't want anyone thinking she was a coward by not doing a dare but she wasn't going to do anything like this ever again no matter what anyone said. She quickly looked at her beard and made sure it was on properly before walking into the classroom.

"Good day Professor." Laura said as she looked at the beard and hoped that the Professor wouldn't be cross. She would actually tell Tess what she thought if she got her into serious trouble. "How was your summer?"

Mell 01-07-2014 11:23 PM

Personally, Michael didn't understand why they had to be immaculately dressed just to attend a class. He was pretty sure that he was still going to learn the same things as everyone else even if his hair was sticking up on end or his tie was slightly loosened.

It was only because he had promised his parents that he would actually behave and study harder this year, that he was neatly attired and well groomed as he walked into the Transfiguration classroom.

"Good morning Professor." He said in greeting as he strolled passed her and stood by a vacant seat.

So Dora was being a good prefect, or at least felt like do so today, and so headed for the first Transfiguration lesson. It helped that she favored this subject above others. It didn't help that she didn't necessarily favor the professor. Indifferent towards her was the word. Still she went because good prefect.

Though she didn't greet the woman because that just wasn't her thing. Instead she picked a seat beside Mo and greeted him, since he wasn't all up front being too Ravenclaw, and would keep her entertained should the lesson prove boring.

Deezerz 01-07-2014 11:40 PM

It didn't feel like she'd just entered a classroom. There were plants and more plants and a pile of wood. And it smelled nice -- was that coconut? Walking deeper into the room and setting her belongings on a desk at the front -- the desks would have impressed her grandmother -- Beverly studied everything.

This was far from what she thought classrooms looked like. It was sort of...neat.

There was the professor. She was pretty, but Beverly couldn't get a read off of her. So, she just nodded a greeting, not wanting to call any attention to her. HEY LOOK, A GIRL WITH A BEARD. LOOK AT THAT.

Ian entered the transfiguration classroom in all his huffie school uniformed finery. He was comforted by the scent of the coconut, one of his favorite scents. He nodded to the professor as he entered and the also to students as he passed them looking for a seat. Finding one, he watched other students enter and observed all of the vegetation around the corners.

So first class and it was transfiguration. This was great because usually transfiguration meant no book!! Which was GREAT in Bart's eyes. The second year happily walked into the classroom. Seeing some of the other kids he had been getting to know he smiled and googly waved at them. Looking at the professor he smiled, "Morning Professor, I'm Bart" His plan was to tell all the professor's Bart then maybe they wouldn't use his full name.

Turning he looked for an empty seat and went over to it. Just as he went to sit down he noticed the others standing, "Why is everyone standing?" This was weird but he felt uncomfortable sitting if no one else was. Was this a thing here or something?
