The Badgers sit under a brand new gold and black banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. It was once said that the Hogwarts House Elves are the best in the world. It is up to your stomach to agree... but surely it will! Why wouldn't it like elf cooking?
If you're thirsty, there is also fresh pumpkin juice and water on the table, regardless of whether or not it is actually mealtime.

Feeling rather hungry, Lux had woken up earlier than usual and made her way over to the Great Hall so that she could get some breakfast. The room was empty, which made her feel rather strange, especially after how crowded it had been during the Great Feast.
Heading over to the Hufflepuff table, she took a seat before pouring herself some pumpkin juice and grabbing a few pieces of toast and putting them on her plate. Maybe she could visit the kitchen later and get her sandwiches, she thought as she took a bite of her toast.

"I would have been okay if you forgot," Lux assured Marigold. If she ever forgot, it would be okay and there would be no need to feel embarrassed; it was not as if Lux was a common name by any means, and people did tend to forget at times.

Lux giggled at Marigold. She was rather funny. "What's a brownie point though?" Maybe she was stupid, but she had never heard anyone say that before, and she did not know what points had to do with brownies, as delicious as they are.
Hmmm. Lux bit her lip. "I am sure we can work a name out from that." But what though? Chocolate was nice, but she was not sure if that would be a good nickname, since it would make her want chocolate every time she said it!

Laughing slightly, Lux felt her arm hurt a little but still did not mind the hand shake. At least it meant someone was enthusiastic to meet her! "Oh, thank you! I'm actually a new transfer, but everyone here is so nice!" She had yet to meet someone who was actively mean to her, and hoped that never happened. What if she made an enemy at Hogwarts? "You should eat some toast with us," she suggested when Awar said she was hungry. Toast was really yummy.

Awar smiled at Mari's cute, innocent answer, "Great answer!" She nudged her lightly, "I bet more time with Kace, too. Eh?, Eh??"
She nibbled on her toast, "Hmmmm....I know I say this every year, but I should really focus on my schoolwork. I mean, I only have a couple years left at Hogwarts so, I really should."
"That sounds like a great goal, Lux! I'm not that great of a flyer, either." She took a bite of toast, "Iff really diffapoints maf my broffer becauf he's a big quidditchff fan." Awar paused to swallow and wash it down with juice, "But, I'm really looking forward to seeing you on the team next year!"

Food! Food sounded good at this moment. Or any moment. Maybe he'd finally start growing and catch up with all the giants around here, or maybe he was just hungry from all the boring hard work. The second year hummed as he skipped along to find an empty place at the table, settling for a place halfway down the bench. That way he'd have a perfect view on whatever might happen, stuff was always happening around here. Better than a zoo!
He looked around for a moment, but saw no familiar faces at the Hufflepuff table, so he got down to what he was here for and scooped some potatoes onto his plate. '..'s the best.'

If his mam were here she'd be telling him to eat more than just potatoes, but she wasn't and Donny thought potatoes were just fine by themselves. What was what..? 'What what was what?' He asked after making sure there was no food left in his mouth. Manners!
Donny smiled at the unfamiliar girl and took a sip of pumpkin juice before extending a hand, making sure to show of his green nails. Abbi painted them, he had to show off his best friend's nail-painting skills. 'I'm Donnacha! Donny. Dolphin Boy. Captain Crabs!'
