Having been let out from the feast, Huxley wanted to go exploring this new prison home, but apparently first years and new kids like herself were herded into this mini-tour... which ended up here, the Ravenclaw Common Room. Huxley was biting her inner cheek as she was led toward the girls’ dorms. Goodness this room was so far away from the entrance. This castle had stairs of forever. Damn those Vanderbilts. They knew what they were doing when they sent her here.

Stiffly she regarded the room. Yes it was very nice, best room she’d ever had a bedspace in; fantastic view, and just everything being light and un-depressing. Obviously she’s not used to this. She was already missing that little dank corner rat hole in the library basement....

She sighed and turned her head. At the foot of one bed there were a stack of trunks and all sorts of luggage that prominently engraved her name on it. It looked like Christmas morning, except Huxley never had presents before. She began opening them and realized they were her robes and clothes and school supplies. All brand new, all personalized. A lump formed in her throat. The old man kept his word. She was being taken cared of. Properly.

She sniffed, hastily blinking away the irritating mistiness in her eyes. She plopped herself onto the bed, soft and clean and BIG. Probably the first time she can stretch herself out and not touch the head or footboard. She sighed and closed her eyes, running her fingers along the rise and fall of the warm quilt. Such luxuries. Something to commit to memory because who knows if all these will vanish when she opens her eyes again....

Elodie had been right when she'd said the staircases had been a pain. Why did they move? And why where there so maaaaany?! Charlie couldn't even remember how she'd gotten to the Common Room, and had no clue how she'd find breakfast in the morning. It was lucky for her that the dormitories were signposted as well as they were. Speaking of which, the fourteen year old pushed her glasses onto the top of her head and hurried up the stairs.

Opening the door to the fourth years dorm, Charlie spotted her trunk straight away. Or rather, she spotted the bright pink bag sitting on top of it. How could she miss it? How could anyone? She hurried over to it, and made sure that all of her stuff was there before flopping down onto her bed. Hmmm comfy.

Sitting back up was when she noticed the girl across from her. DORM FRIEND. "Uh, hey," she smiled, brightly. "I'm Charlie." You know, because they should get to know each other.

There is a voice.

An eye peeked open. There was a voice wasn’t there? Or did she just dream that up? Ghosties giving their usual greets? Wait this didn’t feel like her old lumpy couch or a dank basement....

Huxley sat up on her bed, the last few minutes of the evenings’ events catching up with her consciousness. She was in Hogwarts now, sorted into Ravenclaw, and this was her dormitory. She turned her head and saw a girl, looking at her expectantly. Oh this was the one who greeted her “Uhm.... Hi Charlie” She replied, a bit too demurely for her liking. Her dozing off was still clouding her head obviously. “I’m pleased to meet you.”

Was that what she should’ve said? No she should’ve said her name. Alas old habits die hard. Try again fellow Claw.

Seventh year, and Nerida still hated stairs...They should just be able to push a button and they would be at the top of the stairs...Yeah that sounded awesome!!! But nope they had to walk. It felt good to be back at Hogwarts.. She made her way up again more stairs just to reach the girls dorm. Stairs...

Opening the door, Nerida spotted her trunk immediately, it wasn't hard too. When a sleeping blue cat was nestled on top it Walking over she pet her. Looking around did she know the two girls in here? Shrugging her shoulders as Sky crawled into her arms. "Hi girls!" she cast a smile as she reached them. "I'm Nerida." Might as well introduce herself since they were in Ravenclaw and they would see each other around.

Hoping against hope that the girl hadn't been sleeping when she spoke, Charlie grimaced inwardly. She smiled, though, as the fellow Ravenclaw spoke to her, thankful that the girl didn't seem annoyed, if a bit sleepy. "Yeah, nice to meet you, too... uh. Sorry, I don't think I caught your name?" Totally because the girl hadn't said it, but Charlie was going to be polite and not point that out. As she was waiting for an answer, the door opened, and she turned towards it.

Tucking her feet under her, Charlie gave a wave in the direction of the older girl. "Such a pretty name!" she couldn't help but say, with a little laugh. "I'm Charlie, just joined and starting fourth year, and this is...." Well, she couldn't actually say who this was, because she didn't know.

The dorms were one of Eliza's favorite things about Hogwarts. They were warm and cozy and just really a snuggled up good place to be when you wanted to read a book or have a nice deep sleep.

As she entered the room, she spotted two faces she knew and one that seemed brand new to her. A smile spread across her face as she greeted her friend from last term. "Heya Nerida! Good to see you again! How was your summer?" Not wanting to leave anyone out, she turned to the girl she'd sort of met on the train and smiled at her too. "Hi there. Sorry again about being so sleepy on the train," she said with a nod, and then gave another look to the dark haired girl in the room. She waved a slender pale hand and said, "Hello!" The brunette seemed to be enjoying the comforts of her sleeping quarters, so Eliza thought she might be new. "Are you new here? I apologize if I'm wrong," she asked to the girl with the big brown eyes.

More people. There were more people coming into the dorms.

Huxley folded her legs beside her, the old habit of shirking away from peers starting to creep in. Blinking away the sleepiness from her eyes with finality, her dark gaze flitted from the girl named Charlie to the other two girls that just entered the room and being all friendly like. Is that how Hogwarts students are? If they’re not offering free food, then an open hand of friendship? Obviously this is something quite strange to the brown eyed girl.

She would’ve settled for a barely noticeable nod at the new comers’ direction when questions were being cast her way. Oh gosh social skills. She didn’t need to have to worry about that if all she was surrounded with were books and scrolls “Yes I.... came in with the train.” she replied to the redhead’s question. That answer may have been a bit simplistic, as they ALL came in with the train. But she didn’t know what else to say; rarely has she ever spoken about herself.

So that was Charlie and the older blond was Nerida. Acknowledging look to them both. And given how the ginger didn’t say her name the brunette was about to take it as an excuse to not have to give hers either. Until Charlie trailed off. Awkward silence. “Justcallmehuxley.”

She wanted to shrink behind the quilt of her bed bracing for a snide remark or a cruel joke when something caught her eye. “That cat. Its blue.” Blink.

Nerida smiled relieved to know that she hadn't skipped by her years without noticing either of them, seeing as both of them were just starting Hogwarts. "Thank you!", she loved her name so unique she had never met a single person with her name making her feel special! "Nice to meet you Charlie, welcome to Hogwarts and Ravenclaw amazing house you shall love it here!" So the other girl hadn't introduced herself, yay that meant she hadn't missed much.

Eliza! Giving her friend a hug. "Eliza, great to see you again as well!!! My summer was superb except for the fact I couldn't stay in my house for like the whole summer mum insisted she get the kitchen remolded which met we couldn't even go upstairs....I still don't understand why.." Her mum was a really weird woman. Oh look Eliza knew Charlie!

Nerida gave a grin as she heard the brown haired girls response. She came in with the train...Hadn't they all...Unless they were in Hogsmeade right? She had a cute response though which probably meant she was shy. Nothing friendliness cant fix! "Huxley, what a cool name. Its wonderful to meet you," she said as she extended her hand for a shake.

Looking down at Sky she giggled, "Yes it is!! Sky meet Huxley and Charlie...And I think you have met Eliza but if not meet Eliza." pointing the cat towards each as she introduced it to them. Hopefully the cat would be friendly and not lazy when she introduced her.

As their dorm filled up, Charlie contemplated what it would be like to share a room with people. It was a feat she'd only ever experienced when her mama had been renovating, or when she went on holiday with her sister. These experiences had become fewer and further in between as she'd gotten older, and although it would take some getting used to, she was sure she would not mind. Heck, she couldn't mind, because there was no changing it now.

"Don't worry," she smiled. "I know we didn't properly meet, Eliza -" and she only knew that because the older girl - Nerida, wasn't it? - had greeted her when she came in. Totally normal. "I'm Charlie. Fourth year." And maybe she'd know another fourth year now, and wouldn't feel so alone. She didn't cast much thought over the brunettes statement of coming in with the train, though - for all she knew, that was a small percentage of the population of students. She wasn't sure how else they would get here, but there must have been ways, right? Like, if you lived near, you wouldn't travel all the way to London just to come back? It had been bad enough going frown from Leicestershire. Which was, what? a couple of hours by car?

ANYWAY.

"I hope I do," Charlie grinned at Nerida's welcome, and her faith that she would love it. Everyone seemed to like Ravenclaw, she noticed, although she still had a longing to be closer to the doors, to the kitchens, to people she knew pretty well. Reaching over to unclip her cat basket, Charlie nodded in her direction as Huxley mentioned her name. "Sky! How adorable. This is Lightening." Because she was a total cat person, and Sky was almost as cool and cute as her own Bombay. But Lightning beat her to it, obviously. Hehe.

Eliza was glad someone had prompted them all to share their names, because she was pretty bad with introductions sometimes. It just seemed to slip her mind, you know? She smiled warmly at the brunette and said with vigor, "Wow, Huxley? I'm with Nerida on that one - that's a really cool name!" Really, she thought it was pretty edgy and modern and go-get-em sounding. She liked it a lot. So much in fact, she wondered if it would be weird for her to name a pet with that name at some point... Not that she'd think of Huxley as a pet whenever she talked to this hypothetical animal but, it was just snazzy. ...Food for thought.

She was also relieved to learn the train girl's name was Charlie, cause she had been so sleepy, she wasn't entirely sure if she knew it or not. "Well it's good to properly meet now!" she remarked brightly. This whole meeting new people and actually getting along with them, so far, was keeping Eliza's spirits up, up, up. "So yep, I'm Eliza, as you know now. And I'm a fourth year too," she elaborated with a nod.

Hugging Nerida back, Eliza grinned with delight. "I'm glad your summer was so good! And remodeling sounds nice though, even if you couldn't go upstairs. Do you like how it turned out?" She asked because, ever since coming to Hogwarts, she'd developed a new appreciation for architecture and room designs, something she'd sort of taken for granted before. It was after Huxley's comment that she noticed Nerida's cat, Sky, was here as well. After Nerida did her kitty introductions, Eliza knelt to let the blue cat sniff her hand before trying to pet her. "Oh, I'm so glad you found her, Nerida! Last I knew, she had run off somewhere." She turned back to Sky and talked softly, yet sternly to her. "Now you don't do that again this year okay, Sky? You had us worried!" If Sky was anything like Eliza's owl, Luna, though...she would do whatever she wanted to regardless of what any human or animal said.

And Charlie had a cat too?! Eliza was beyond excited. She had wanted a cat for school but still hadn't felt it was the right time to have one. She had several pets at home and just didn't think it would be fair to them to add yet another fuzzy friend. "It looks like we'll be the cat house instead of the eagle house this year," she joked as she went to pet Lightning. "Do you think they'll let other people pet and cuddle them sometimes? Like if we're in the dorm and you're out on the grounds somewhere?" She hoped so, because sometimes she did get a little homesick and having a cat to pet would be a nice comfort. Her owl wasn't too fond of snuggling.

Oh hey another name drop. Eliza, the ginger one. Well now that rounds it up nicely doesn’t it?

Except now they all know her name too, which they thought was cool. It was? “Uhm, thank you.” she murmured. Compliments are totally foreign to her and the young brunette just couldn’t figure out how to process that. Should she feel good? Should she be suspicious? Hmm, something to ponder....

She eyed Nerida’s hand for a moment before gingerly extending her hand and shaking the tip of the other girl’s extended fingers. Awkward smile. This was leaps and bounds progress on her social skills now, be happy yeah? Far better than her usual way of staring at hands she wouldn’t touch and leave the other fellow hanging.

And now with the pets. So the blue cat was named Sky. Blue.... Sky. Of course.

And then there is this other cat named Lightning. Huh. Should she expect someone to say they had a pet named Thunder? But then Huxley’s head darted sharply towards Eliza when she mentioned “A cat house?” Did she actually say she wanted Ravenclaw to be known as a cat house? “I---I really hope not.” She had nothing against cats, but pets was not the thought that popped into her head when that phrase came up.

Nerida gave a smile seeing that Huxley felt weird about the compliment or was it something else....Either way a smile she got.

Nerida gave a nod, "Yeah the kitchen looks amazing now... Don't tell my mom I know but she wants to throw me a Graduate party thing so you might hear from her, shes not very good at keeping things from these babies." She said pointing to her ears. Sky let the red head one touch her but only because she didn't feel like sniffing and sniffing as long as Nerida had her the redhead could touch her..Maybe when she felt like it she would permit a touch without Nerida. "Yes, she was sleeping in here under some books that had fallen....Stinking books I had looked everywhere and she was in the common room the whole time.." She giggled as Eliza tried telling Sky not to do things...If only she knew Sky only listened when she wanted to.

Hearing everyone mention their year she could too...Even if it was sad..."I'm a Seventh Year." Yeah could she stay at Hogwarts forever....Knowing she couldn't...

Lightening.. Cool name it would be epic is she had another so it could be Lightening and Thunder! But she probably didn't. She looked down at Sky be nice she gave her a look. Sky gave a sniff...Who was the cat??? Hearing Eliza she said "A cat house?" giving another look down at her cat. "We would never see Sky, shes one of those loner cats...I've tried making her not but she really just keeps to herself. If she recognizes you she might come up to you but usually you have to come up to her." lazy cat that she was. "If im not here and she really wants to pet she might attack you with licks and purring!!"

"Yeah Ravenclaw The Cat House....Ravenclaw The Eagles....Going to have to pick the eagles..." She said in response to Huxley.. "No offence guys" she gave a look down at the two cats...

"HUXLEY." Slapping her forehead in remembrance, Charlie turned to the girl, realising where she'd heard the name before. "Like Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World." Yes, that was where she recognised the name from. She flushed a little, muttering, "Ignore me." Huxley was a cool name anyway, but the nerdy connotations that Charlie now realised it shared made it ten times cooler. Or maybe she was just a big nerd. Either way, she'd have to see if the library had a copy of the book - she hadn't read that one for years. Smiling at Huxley and Eliza, Charlie was pleased to find that she had finally found some people who were in her year. "Seventh year? Have you been here since first year?" she asked Nerida as she mentioned her year. She already felt nostalgic for the girl's last year, and they'd only just met.

The cat house? Totally amusing, and it made Charlie laugh. However... "Got to say I'm with Huxley and Nerida on this one, though," she said with a grin. "I think there's just something about Eagles that I prefer." And she was pretty sure that the other 'Claws would have something to say about it - there was probably more than one cat-disliker in the house. Even if that was a thought that Charlie couldn't imagine. "Give him any treats and attention and he'll probably prefer you to me," she said with a laugh. Which meant, 'of course'. "If you ignore him, expect lots of purrs and nuzzling." Because Lightening was totally spoilt and a huge attention seeker, and would probably love the fact that Eliza was so eager to give him what he wanted.

Yep: cue huge contented purr from the Bombay. And maybe his name was slightly embarrassing, but she'd named him when she was eleven. And she had been a clichéd eleven year old.

So apparently Nerida wasn’t only one of the mature looking Claws in the room but she was also part of the graduating class. Hmm, that thought hasn’t even crossed the brunette girl’s mind because she wasn’t really thinking she would last very long around this place to know what it will be like when its her turn. As far as she was concerned, her being corralled into Hogwarts was a temporary set back.

And it seemed like they didn’t know what the other meaning to cat house. Huxley stretched her legs across her bed and straightened out her skirt and angled her head neutrally at the conversation. She will keep it that way then. She wasn’t going to be the one person that would tell them worldly details. They have the rest of their young lives to blunder through and figure that out.

Oh but an exclamation from the blonde who awoke her. And a name from the books. Huxley narrowed her eyes some “Clever girl.” She deadpanned before giving the blonde an acknowledging smirk “Yes I am familiar with the dystopian novel and its author. He comes from a renowned family of scholars and philanthropists.” As to whether she had the honor of being related...who knows. The secrets she has yet to discover.

Well she didn’t have a cat, and although she hasn’t found herself sneezing or itching, this brunette couldn’t really relate with the feline talk. Maybe if they talked about wanting to own a Bengal Tiger she might be more inclined to stay. “I should start getting ready for bed...” she said as she slipped off the bed and started to unearth clothing material from her trunk “Bathrooms here... they are shared I’m guessing? But they have proper walls and shower curtains and such right?” because she wasn’t about to shower in naught but her skin in front of strangers.

After an eventful day of classes, Claudette made the journey up to Ravenclaw tower and to the girls dormitories, stopping off at the floor reserved for the sixth year girls. She was growing rather accustomed to her room, even if it was nothing like the one she had at Beauxbatons, it was still rather magnificent, especially with the airy and lofty windows. She had quite the spectacular view.

But she did not head over to the window just now. Instead, the 16 year old took a seat cross-legged on the center of her bed and dropped her tote bag on the floor next to her. She did have some studying to do, but was not in the mood for that at all. She wanted to relax and lose herself a bit in her thoughts. Reaching over to her bedside table, she pulled open the drawer and pulled out a package of chocolate-raspberry truffles. Taking a bite of the candy, she slowly chewed thinking about her time at the school so far. She wasn't completely sure what she thought of it.. most of the students seemed nice enough, but many of the professors were downright odd and even disagreeable. Still too early to form much of an opinion though..

Racing into the first year girls' dormitory with a package tucked neatly under her arm, Sophie dove at her bed, crossed her legs pretzel-style, and set the package neatly in front of her. She gave it a hard look, imagining what could be inside before hastily ripping off the brown paper packaging, lifting one of the flaps of the box, and pouring the contents onto her bed. Good ol' dependable October 22nd and a happy birthday indeed. Out slid a large scarlet container, a black cloak, a note, a bag of shriveled balloons, and a few galleons.

She examined the container of crystallised pineapple first. That was the one thing she knew would be in there - she had been salivating since she woke up in preparation for the one birthday present she was sure to get every year from her father. Unable to contain her hunger any longer, she popped the lid open and shoved a few in her mouth as she scooped up the galleons and shoved them in her bedside drawer. Then she averted her attention to a little bag of shriveled balloons. Non-Explodable Luminous Balloons. She raised her eyebrow at the name but smiled softly to herself as she sucked on the crystallised pineapple, assuming she was meant to throw herself her own party with the balloons. She... could do that.

The thought was kind of pitiful, though.

Sophie ran a hand over the cloak, examining it curiously, and finally decided to pick up her father's note to hear his gift explanations. Huh. So it was a shield cloak? That was kind of cool. 'Course her father would be looking to protect her, even from across the miles. With a smile playing upon her lips once more, Sophie slipped the cloak over her shoulders, letting it embrace her like a long lost birthday hug from her father, and continued reading on. Mmmm... yep. He did want her to throw her own party. That was kind of lame, though, wasn't it? Weren't OTHER people supposed to throw parties?

Still. Shooting a glance around the plain dormitory, she figured the others wouldn't mind if she added some balloons to their living space. Once she swallowed her crystallised pineapple, she began to blow up her luminous balloons, one by one, and tying off the ends, until there were five or six floating around the room. It was kind of cheesy and silly, but it had brought a smile to her face nonetheless. It wasn't like anyone knew it was her birthday anyway. Or, at least, only her female yearmates would, she supposed. And Cat. Cat knew, but she probably wouldn't remember. There were too many things going on lately. It was okay, though. Sophie had her sweets, her new protective cloak, pretty balloons, and her father's love. What more could a kid want?

Dora was wrapped up in her blanket, surrounded by books of various topics and not properly studying. She hadn't been 'studying' for a while now as there was other important things for her to be doing. Like folding more paper creatures to add to her canopy collection, and reinforcing her training for Biter to not attack one of her favorite dorm mates cat, and occasionally pausing to change the station on her small radio.

Sometimes she would stop all of that to scribble down her thoughts and opinions, but mostly she was passing time with odd activities while she waited til she would have to leave for whatever obligation she had.

Lily trudged up the stairs to her dorm room, swinging the door open and flopping her bookbag onto the group before actually stepping into the room. She didn't even notice that one of her roommates was in the room at the time. Instead, the sixth year dragged her bag to her trunk, sitting at the end of her bed. It was only after she had deposited her books into her trunk that she noticed someone else was in the room.

"Oh... Hey Claudette. How'd your day go?" You know... just small talk while they got ready for bed. Diving onto her bed having put her stuff away, she turned onto her side so she could see her claw friend.

Eliza nodded in 'yer welcome' kind of way when Huxley sort of accepted their compliments. I wonder if she doesn't like it? Eliza wondered, but couldn't see why the girl wouldn't like her own name, since Eliza liked it so much.

Eliza grinned and winked at Nerida and said, "Oh don't worry, I won't tell your mom you know about it. Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise! Mom's care about those a lot you know? Surprises and gifts and all of that. I can see why though, so I guess I'm the same way..." She hadn't realized she was thinking out loud again, but once she did, she didn't feel anything she'd said had been to revealing, so she shrugged and moved on.

Still trying to pet the cats, Eliza turned her chin upwards towards the girls so that she could still listen. It seemed Sky had taken a liking to her for now, so Eliza smiled at that. "Well I sure am glad you found her! That would've been awful to lose her in the castle for too long. It's so big in here, who knows where a cat could hide." She made a mental note to not be offended if Sky was a bit of an independent feline, and that she should just try to pet her first.

As for Lightening though, it seemed bribery would work best, according to Charlie. She gave the bombay a light petting too, so he could get used to her. "Treats for Lightening? Got it," she said with a little wink at the cat. "But I'm sure he'll always love you the most!" she said with another smile to Charlie.

So no one wanted to convert their mascot from an eagle to a cat? Well that was okay, she'd only been joking anyway. "Yeah I guess a cat wouldn't be such a great house animal choice, since Gryffindor is already a lion and all. Plus, the eagle is pretty neat anyway. I like the idea of having feathers as part of our house pride you know?" Being the artistic person that she was, her mind was already off on how she could put feathers in her hair or on a necklace like a dreamcatcher to feel a little more representative of her house - especially at matches and things. She wondered if the other girls would be going to the matches much this year.

"Nerida, I can't believe you're a seventh year!" she said with wide eyes, now standing up from petting the cats. "Do you have any ideas on what you want to do next?" She knew it was a loaded question, but she had to ask anyway - curiosity and all that.

A look over to Huxley as she told about the author Charlie had mentioned revealed that the brunette was looking pretty drowsy. Had they been keeping her awake? She hoped not! "I'm sorry Huxley! I didn't realize how late it was! Of course, you can hit the hay if you want. I'll try to keep quieter for you," she said with a scrunched up nose to show her apologies. Eliza tried to think if the bathrooms had ever been as embarrassing and horrible as Huxley wondered, but she didn't think they had been. "Nooo, no. Yes, they're regular ol showers and baths. But nicer, you kno, like Hogwarts style with nice soaps and shiny knobs and fixtures. Take whichever you like. You don't have to share!" Eliza would've been taking trips to Hogsmeade for her showering rituals by now if she had been forced into locker room type showers this whole time. What she looked like in soap and bubbles was for no one's eyes but her own.

She gave a sheepish look to the other girls as Huxley began getting around for bed. Maybe it was best that they all get some sleep. She was sure Nerida would have lots of studying and classwork for her N.E.W.T.S. and she and Charlie had Astronomy homework, if the other fourth year had started on hers yet that was. "Maybe I should get my jammies on too gals. Whaddya say? Unless you want to talk more somewhere else, I could always keep my eyes open for a while longer." It was up to them. Eliza had been known to stay awake for chit chat at sleepovers hour after hour, so she was still getting used to going to bed on time.

Nerida smiled at Eliza, "Your the best, yeah she wasn't really good at keeping it a secret. So invitations will be sent and you shall come!" she said with a wink before adding nicely, "Right?" Moms care about tons of things! Eliza compared herself to a mom, "Eliza is worthy of the mom name than?" She gave a couple chuckles afterwards... "I'm somewhat worthy... I have OCD part down now all I need is the other stuff." she said before some more giggles came out.

Nerida looked at Charlie... Who was she talking about? Aldous Huxley who? Brave New World...What! Oh it was back to her... Huxley knew the book too... Maybe she was related?? Hmm interesting this girl was a mystery. Hehe! "Yes, I have. So weird saying seventh year!! I don't want to leave Hogwarts, its so fun and its like my home!" Except at her house her room was just hers... Which sometimes was good and other times she wished there were more people, like here. "RIGHT!!!" Nerida took a breath!! "It's crazy it seems like yesterday I had that sorting hat on!!" Any ideas on what comes next, hmm. Taking a moment to think she grinned, "Well I know I am going to Wizarding University, and um as far as career I don't really know.. Maybe you can help me research sometime if you want.. Might help you when you finally get to your seventh year in three years!"

She threw Eliza a smile before looking down at Sky who was stretching in her arms... Feeling her claws she gave a pained grin, time to cut those little daggers!! Sky jumped out of Nerida's hands to go to the next person, Eliza. Hmm Sky had taken a liking to the girl then, that was good. "Me too!! Bed? Already... It was probably best.. Sigh she hated when the younger kids knew best. Though Nerida was a night owl at heart so if she wanted to stay up it was never surprising. "Okay, that sounds like a plan.." Though if somebody else wanted to talk she'd stay up... Shared showers.. That was a horror...Like they do in those prison movies she had watched with her brother that one time?? Maybe those were the ones Huxley was thinking of... "Yeah nice single person showers!"

Still eating her truffles, Claudette looked up curiously as the door opened. It was her roommate, Lily, and she looked awfully preoccupied to the point of not noticing her presence. She allowed a light smile to fall on her lips as she watched her for a moment, her smile growing a bit as the girl acknowledged her.

"Hi Lily.. you seem a bit preoccupied," she said with a good-natured chuckle. "Something on your mind?" She shrugged lightly as the question was posed to her. "It was alright, I suppose. Still trying to get used to things." She looked down for a moment, wondering if her roommate had seen the protest in Arithmancy or heard about her subsequent detention. The blonde wasn't sure she remembered seeing her in that class or not. Deciding not to bring it up, she looked up and smiled just a bit as she tilted her head towards the chocolates she was eating, offering her friend some. "Truffles?"

Adrienne walked into the girls' dormitory carrying an entire raw chicken in her bare hands. She wrinkled her nose slightly at how slimy it was against her skin -ewww- and carefully placed it on the windowsill, trying to avoid the weird looks she was no doubt getting from everyone in the entire common room. Because she was carrying a chicken. Into her dorm. Hey, it was for homework!

She turned towards the door, where Tora still was, gesturing for her to come in with her slimy, slimy hands. Adrienne wiped her hands on her robes to try to get some of the chicken-grease off, and out of her pocket she pulled her wand and that magnifying glass attachment she'd gotten from Flamsteed's office.

Tora crinkled her nose doubtfully. "Are you sure this is gonna work?" she raised her eyebrows as she walked over to the windowsill where Adrienne was waiting for her. "You're lucky its for Astronomy homework or I wouldn't be here." She poked the chicken with her finger and then immediately pulled out her wand. "Scorgify," she pointed first at her finger, then at Adrienne's hands, and then finally at the chicken.

It was rather unfortunate that they couldn't use the kitchen because Adirenne was too lazy! Now they would have to clean up the dorm afterwards. Something that she was not looking forward to. Especially if this didn't work and they didn't get a meal out of this. Cleaning was so dull.

"Come on, what could go wrong?" Adrienne smiled wickedly, but the smile dropped off her face rapidly. "Seriously though, it should work pretty well. We just have to heat it up, no? That should be fairly simple." That was how you cooked, right? Adrienne had to admit, she'd never actually tried cooking before. Both here and at her grandparents', there were house-elves to do this kind of thing for them, and at her house Maman was the cook. So she wasn't particularly well-versed in the art of making food.

Adrienne snapped the magnifying glass thing onto her wand and moved a bit to the left so that she had a better angle of sunlight, and then cast the spell. "Solis Focalis!"
