After I am finished with my classes, I find my self sitting on one of the arm chairs reading. I don't feel like studying right now, so I got a book on quiditch.

Cutty was carrying a small stack of books into the study area from the shelves, one of which was Hogwarts: A History. Jezzebelle Antoinette, a Gryffindor girl whose year Cutty didn't give two shakes about had mentioned it to him while they were out on the lake. Why? He wondered hadn't his mother mentioned anything at all to him about her old school? Was it for his father being so set on him going to that Canadian school? Or was it something else? Or Maybe it was because she knew how not good it really was. He would adapt, anyway, he thought as he found a private-feeling little corner in which to pry deeper into the history of this school. He dropped his bag down and it sank to the floor as though it had been filled with bricks.

It wasn't like she didn't visit the library often. But never this early. Since they'd only come to school a month ago. She had a habit of procrastinating. But his time, she had reasons. First, she was already nervous about the exams. People make a big deal of it so she decided to make extra effort. Also, distraction were welcome and surprisingly studying served as a good distraction right now.

So she did pay and waste money to get into the library to study. Except she had no idea what she was going to study. The snake shoved many books into her bag, for all she knew she might have taken a couple of copies of the same book. The dorms weren't that tidy. Scanning the surroundings around her, the blond wondered where to settle in. Naturally, she'd go to an isolated corner to focus and whatnot. Except she didn't, nope, not Cassia.

She made her way to the first-year whom she met at the feast. The candy boy. Casually she slid into a seat close to him. Also, what was he doing? When she was a first year, she didn't know where the library was. "Hey, there." She greeted him keeping her voice low. "What are you doing?" She asked curiously as if the answer wasn't obvious.

The younger Slyth didn't look up from his book, but did acknowledge that a larger figure had taken a seat near him. Instead he kept his eyes locked on the pages of Hogwarts A History fascinated by the section that spoke of the house ghosts. Why hadn't his mother told him there'd be ghosts there??! He thought with excitement.

Cutty's hand drew over towards his mouth. Index finger extended he pressed it against his lips and uttered a small "Shh!" as he looked up and upon seeing who it was immediately through his hand down. "Oh, 'ulloo, Cassia. I thought you were someone annoying come to annoy me."

He sat up taller and repositioned his book more comfortably. "I'm reading about Hogwarts. M'mam didn't tell me anything of it before I came. What about you? What are you doing in the library and can you believe it's 8 whole sickles to get in? I sell sweets far less expensive than that."

A first year in the library and who was so focused on reading and her coming to annoy disturb. Something you don't see everyday. She was about to actually retrieve a book from her bag and study. But then he looked up from his book. Psht, like she'd ever annoy anyone. She smiled at him. They could talk, yeah? Cool. She wasn't feeling like reading just yet. "Been annoyed before?" She asked.

She peered at his book and took a look at the book. Interesting. "I like History," She told him. "It's one of my favorite subjects." Not that she had lots of favorite ones and the list changed however History of magic seemed to have stayed on the favorite-list for a while so maybe it was going to stay for good. Who knew.

Upon hearing his comment, the fifth-year nodded knowingly. "Tell me about it," She sighed remembering last year. She pondered whether to tell him how they had to pay almost for everything like entering common rooms and entering the great hall. "I'm here to ...read, too." She answered glancing at her bag thinking that it would be a good idea if she just placed a book on her lap. "Oh, I saw your sign, you know." She told him as she inserted her hand in the bag grabbing a random book and pulling it out. "How's business going?" She cracked a smile and flipped the book open not really looking at the page. "You have any one you?" She asked him referring to the candy he was selling.

When Cassia had asked him if he had been annoyed before, Cutty didn't say anything for fear that he would go on about the variant annoyances he had encountered at the school thus far. Instead, he gave a small nod and decided not to pursue it as a topic unless she chose to ask more about it.

"Nothing yet. I'm just trying to get the word out." He said putting the book down, but occasionally still looking at it's pages. "You know, raise awareness."

"Oh, yeah." His voice grew a little higher and his eye brows raised a little before returning to normal as he said this as if to emphasize a casual tone. "I always carry it in m'bahg. Just in case, ya know. Want any?"

That nod indicated that yup the boy had encountered a couple of annoying people. Didn't they all? Though she hoped that those didn't cause him to dislike the school or something. He technically was still new and first impressions mattered. So hopefully he didn't take a general final idea.

"I used to think History's boring but then it got more interesting," She randomly said. "Did you not know anything about Hogwarts? Like at all?" She curiously asked. "It's nice to have known but it's still cool to discover yourself, yeah?." She told him.

Here's a dedicated business young-man. "That's smart," she nodded approvingly. "Sure, what do you have for me?" she asked him reached for her bag again but for money this time. "I have a friend who might become a regular costumer of yours," And maybe buy everything he had. Which would be good for Cutty but bad for Lex. She's been having way too much candy and that was never good. Maybe she'd tell Cutty not to sell her much?

Once inside, Beezus went and occupied an area near the windows. It was brighter in that side of the library. After settling down, she immediately flipped through her things. Turns out, she didn't have much homework to do anymore. Either she had finished them or she only had to finalize her answers for the rest. Good then...she'd have more time to browse the library for a few books she'd noted that might be helpful for advanced NEWTs studying.

Beezus. Ravenclaw prefect and fellow seventh year, thays who she was meeting to do homework with.. or gossip with.. she wasnt really sure which they'd do more of to be honest, but it was all in good fun really her textbooks and parchment in hand, quill between her teeth she wandered into the library and searched for her friend. Naturally she didnt go to the study tables first as she should of... instead she wandered around for a few minutes in a way searching for her but she also picked up a random book or two so she looked like she was doing something.

Finally she made her way to the tables. "hello" she said quietly as she put her booms down a bit harder then she intended and they slammed onto the table "opps"... we did not mean to do that.

She had two essays that needed finalizing and by Ariana's arrival, she was almost done with one. ...But mini earthquake happened that she had to look up and take her eyes off from what she was writing.

"You really had to announce your arrival like that? Ssshh." She said, smirking. It wasn't that loud really.

Beezus eyed the books her friend was carrying and quirked an eyebrow. Did Ariana realize she looked like a Ravenclaw with those? She decided to pull out the chair next to her to help the girl out. Sit down, Yanaaa. "Lots to do? I've started on my homework. I hope you don't mind."

She was trying really hard not to laugh at all the noise she made but lets face is.. bee looking up as quickly as she did was a bit amusing and she couldnt help it. "sorry" she didnt mean to ruin the vibe anyone had going it just sort of happened. She let her books fall onto the table and finally grabbed the quill from between her teeth.. surely she sounded like an idiot talking that in in her mouth. "thats fine. I dont have much to do... just lots to study" and that is why we dont wait till our final term to crack open a book. "i dont even know how to study.. or at least im doing it wrong". it seemed no matter how much she read nothing seemed to STICK in her brain and she hated reading really.. utterly hated it.

"It's okay. It wasn't too loud. Not one that could bring the librarian's attention to us, I think." Beezus said, tapping her quill against the parchment as the other girl took a seat.

Oh. So, apparently, they were going to start talking about 'studying' before they each start on their work. "NEWTs. Tell me about it." Even though it was still months away, she knew the graduating class could already feel the pressure of that predetermining exam they were to be taking soon. "You know, I remember things better when I have someone to talk to when studying." Inward sigh. She had a constant studying buddy since her fifth year and learning things from books was always so easy with him around. But now.....yeah, meh. Anyhow, "We can do some Q & A if you want." That was an effective strategy.

Cutty could agree. He did find history terribly boring. That was until it applied to him. "Well, m'mam told me it was her school and that nearly every wizard in Britain had gone here, but m'dad who isn't from here wanted to send me away to a school in Canada. So I guess m'mam figured it was better to tell me about that school and not Hogwarts. I knew there was a lake and that it was very far to the north. Oh, and on the trip over I learned that there was a giant squid." He tacked on as if he'd just recalled the information. It was kinda nice figuring it all out for himself. It appealed to Cutty's lately increasingly independent side.

The boy gave a short snortish type laugh at the question of what he had. "You look like a Sugarquill type to me. Pragmatic and discreet. Or if you're in the mood for something smaller I do have some Every Flavour Beans and Jelly Slugs on me." He said unfastening the closure on his bag and digging through it making soft little crinkling noises. He pulled up a black licorice wand and set it down beside his books to get it out of the way then produced a Chocolate Frog packet. He plopped it on to the surface of his book and remembering to keep his voice down asked "Really? What's his name?". He was looking for that one. That Best customer patron.

Cassia listened to Cutty talking while she absently turned pages, just something to do with her hands. He was going to a Canadian school? She found that interesting as the only other schools she knew were Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. So this was something new. She nodded at the information her knew. "Yup, giant squib named Henry," She randomly added remembering that she and her friends wanted to see him when they were firsties. She forgot if they ever managed to eventually. "There are many cool things, did you see the portraits?" He must have passed them.

An amused smile tugged at the corner of her mouth hearing the boy analyze her personality. Pragmatic and discreet, huh? Those were good traits, right? She hoped yes. And she wondered if she had met him sometimes other than these days, when she decided to give herself time away from people, would he have said the same. "I wouldn't mind a sugarquill and two chocolate frogs right now," She told him watching as he started pulling out the goods.

His name?. "Her name actually," She corrected him. "Alexa, Lex for short. She's a Gryffindor and a candy addict." A frowning face of the lioness flashed in her head. Well, Cassia wouldn't say that in front of her.

"I've pass the portrait hall on my way down from my classes. They stare at you when you walk past. And I've heard them talking to other students before. Don't know 'bout what, though." He wasn't sure how he'd feel about talking to a framed individual as he couldn't imagine with their seemingly static existence that they'd have anything intelligent to say.

Taking care to be quiet, Cutty carefully arranged two of his chocolate frogs alongside 2 sugarquills, deciding to throw one in there for Cassia's helpfulness. At no extra cost. He put the rest of the candy away and fastened the closure on his bag once more. "That'll be 16 sickles." He said in a somewhat lofty tone.

"Alexa, h'mm?" He carefully recalled the faces he'd seen so far at the school. "I don't think I've met her yet. I'd remember a Gryffindor candy addict." That's what he'd like to think anyway. "I don't suppose you could introduce us, could you?" He almost wasn't going to ask, but the opportunity was blaring right in his face and he couldn't resist it. He'd be sure to make sure his hair stayed combed that day.

NEWTs... meep. She hadnt brought THOSE up Beatrice! Sure she was thinking of them but she didnt really want to, cause NEWTs meant graduation, and graduation meant the FUTURE, and that was scary. Cracking open her history.of magic book to a random page she pulled some parchment out and scribbled her name and house on it, cause she left it or anything, before sighing and looking back up at the girl.

"well." .. well.. sigh she didnt do this study thing so she didnt know what worked best, "we can talk while doing some Q and A, yeah?" sounded fine to her, plus, they hadnt gossiped in a while.

Talk while doing some Q & A. Yep. Perfect. "Sure. Let's go with....." She trailed off as she too, opened her History of Magic book, which had so luckily landed on the pages dedicated to that of the Goblin Rebellion. " What year did the Goblin Rebellion took place?" Dates. Dates. Years and months and more dates. She hated memorizing them because NUMBERS but it was always good for honing memory. Ariana DID know the answer to that, yeah?

And, and....Beezus knew that look and smirk. "So...Yana. How are you liking our last year so far?"

Cassia nodded knowingly at his words. "They do stare and they used to make fun of me when I used to get lost around and pass them," She said remembering the ol' days. She was such a clueless child back then. So not like Cutty who had already started a business and was doing such a good job with it. Last time she and her ravenclaw bestie tried to start a business, it didn't end that well. "Some of them aren't that rude," She told him remembering a discussion about them that happened last year. It called for a smile.

The fifth-year silently watched the process in which the candy was being wrapped and prepared to be given to her. That was neat and professional, no? She was in awe here. Taking the bag from her, she nodded and put it aside then inserted her hand into her pocket and retrieved a fistful of coins. Yup, she had many. Not broke as she was last year. Slowly, the blond counted 16 sickles then reached over and handed them to Cutty. "here you go,"

So he hadn't met her? No wonder he still hadn't sold all he had. She considered his question and thought of how she was trying to get Lex to cut down on sugar. Maybe it wasn't that smart of her to bring it up? But then again she wanted to help the boy here and make sure Lex didn't go do something stupid to get candy. Maybe if she had to pay for it, she'd think twice about it? Eeeh. As if. "I think I can arrange that," She finally answered. "Though, do you have a rule about how much a customer can buy from you?" He might just want to get rid of what he had unless he liked the idea of this business running.

"They made fun of you?!" He gave a sneer that was somehow more curious than cruel as he took the money squeezed his little fingers around it, released and repeated before placing it carefully into his bag. "I don't think I'd be able to tolerate that for long. What did you do? Besides learn your way around."

At the prospect of having to consider sale limits for Cassia's candy-crazy friend, Cutty's mouth hung a little agape. What?! WOT?! He had to replay the question in his head just to be sure he'd heard it correctly. Do you have a rule about how much a customer can buy...?
"Erhm...No. No, she can buy as much as she likes." He paused to consider if there was any circumstances under which he might not sell someone his entire stash and came to the conclusion that there were not. "Perhaps, if I filled pre-orders I might place limits, but for now Cutty's Supplementary Sweets operates on a first come first served basis." He felt the need to explain, then considered the possible benefits of that.

Carrying a huge stack of books, all of them on Arithmancy, Sky made her way over to an empty table. Luckily, it seemed big enough to spread out a little. She sat the books down, then took a seat herself, placing her bag on the chair beside her and pulling out a notebook and pen for note taking.

Her first task was to find any mention of the thing that horrible Professor French had taught them, something that she was sure she wouldn't find. She opened the book on the top of the stack, looking at the table of contents for any sign of what she was looking for.

She couldn't tell if he was surprised that the portraits made fun of student or he was just expressing his disapproving. "They did. Not anymore though," Because she didn't get lost anymore and because she'd talk back to the people in portraits and not be intimidated by them. "I just learnt to ignore some or just come up with smart comebacks," The later took some time. But she succeeded eventually. She even became friend with a couple?

That definitely wasn't the question she was looking for. She paused thinking of how to respond and not crush his hopes at the same time. "IT's just that she has lots of candy. And it's not healthy," Not that it was the eleven-year's problem. "No worries, I'll take care of that." She can't tell him to not sell her more than a certain amount of candy.

She smiled lopsidedly at his words. That was a boy who knew exactly what he was doing. "Do I get something if I introduce you to the most candy-consuming person in this school?" She wasn't really intending on getting paid. She might have last year, but not this year. Just asking to see how he'd handle this.

Cutty listened carefully to the words of Cassia Somerlad, at first a little confused by the very concept of having too much candy, but then he understood what the older Slytherin girl was getting at. Not everyone could handle copious amounts of sweets and Alexa must have been one of those ones. He'd never actually seen what happens when one has too much candy, being the youngest of his siblings and prone to adult company, but he guessed it made them sick. "Not to worry. Besides, it wouldn't be too clever of me to send my best customer to the Hospital Wing each time she came to see me."

Her next words had a sort of amplifying effect on Cutty's level of respect for the older Slyth. It was what he told himself he would've done were he in her position, though chances were he'd have forgotten or lacked the finesse to have gotten it done proper. "Name your price, Somerlad." He said well-humoured by this deal making thing they were doing. It made him feel like an of age wizard. Cutty caught a glimpse of the time and shut his Hogwarts a History book realizing that Jezzabelle would be wanting her book back soon.

She wasn't expecting such reply from Cutty. Realistically, it wasn't the first-year's concern if a fourth-year girl got herself sick. Yet, he seemed to look at it from a different angle. Cassia nodded approvingly. "You're on the correct track of business running, my friend," If he keeps working and thinking like that, he was going to flourish. And she was going to make sure that she remained in touch with him. Because you become friends with smart people. Regardless of their age.

Her lopsided smile remained on her face and deepened. Slytherin through and through, this boy was. "Hmmm..." She uttered leaning back in her chair and tapping her chin with her finger. She didn't really expect him to agree or take it seriously. But he did and she wasn't going to say that she was joking or wasn't serious. Might be a sign to not take her seriously in other occasions. "Ten per cent." She finally answered him. Was it cheap or too much? She didn't want to set a price in case his profits weren't high. She was a friend here and wanted to help one way or another.

Cutty smiled proudly. It was a compliment he wasn't asking for, but the fact that it manifested during his negotiation anyway made it feel more genuine. Cassia Somerlad was obviously one of the nicer Slyths. He decided this when he heard her only ask for 10%. Had this been his older sister, he would've been out by no less than a quarter (or perhaps more knowing Harlowe these days). "Alright. 10% of every sale you bring to me. Done." Aand, maybe he'd throw a little something extra in there for her as it never hurt to reward those willing to help one get ahead.

"I should go." He said sounding not too eager to leave. "My friend, Jezzabelle is going to jinx me if I don't return her book to her on time." He packed up his things into his bag, though he hadn't gotten through all he wanted to in the book yet so he considered stopping by the check out counter before leaving to get a longer period with the material. "I'll see you in the common room, Cassia." He smiled and waved, looking perhaps uncharacteristically happy as he headed back.
