It was the start of a new term, with new students, returning students and best of all... a new look to greenhouse six! Seren had been rather impressed with the way it all turned out. The refurbishment had gone better than anticipated. In the place of the old buckets and ponds which catered to the needs of numerous aquatic life, there were sparkling clean tanks of all shapes and sizes surrounding the skirts of the greenhouse and forming row upon row throughout...
Standing eye to eye with a tank that glowed greenish blue light upon her face, Seren admired the corals in its depth and inspected their convolutions, prongs and stubs.
OOC: The lesson has officially started. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment. Please behave appropriately and most importantly... have fun. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a PM.

After having talked personally with Professor Bentley, Dylan felt obligated to hurry down to the Greenhouses as soon as the Herbology lesson had been posted...and NO, it had nothing to do with the fact that Professor Bentley was a babe. Nor did the fact that he'd almost been killed in a Greenhouse deter him.
Smirking, Dylan liked to think he was made of stronger stuff then that.
Entering Greenhouse Six, the Slytherin took a moment to appreciate how much nicer it looked...rather than the last time he'd been here...He spied Professor Bentley immediately, noticing the semi-glowing tank in front of her face.
Water plants, perhaps?
"Good morning, Professor Bentley." His tone was nonchalant, but also pleasant.

Okay, Selina loved Bentley. She was naturally one of the coolest Professors in the school- what with being the Gryffindor Head of House and all- and she taught one of the most fascinating subjects that the school had to offer in Selina's opinion. They were always delving into something knew, literally. So the fact that the first lesson out of the box was Herbology made the seventh year really, really excited. So much so that she somewhat bounced down to the greenhouses somewhat early. THAT in itself was telling because Selina and waking up were not good friends.
But... well... the redhead was a tad nervous about attending Herbology. After all, the previous term two Professor had bit the dust because of a plant and Shacklebolt had almost become dessert. So her trepidation was somewhat warranted. Bentley was awesome... her man-eating plant love was not. Selina had some REALLY awesome plans after graduation and getting eaten by a man-eating plant would be a major set back.
Regardless, she was really excited to see Bentley after the summer apart and Herbology was a cool class when the plants weren't trying to eat her or whatever. So she adjusted her tie a little and walked straight into the greenhouse with a smile on her face. IT WAS BENTLEY'S CLASS! Although, upon entering the greenhouse she was sort of surprised to see it as an aquatic wonderland. It had NOT looked like this last term, but it did sort of remind Selina of the black lake, which had recently become her favorite place on campus.
Water was a great way to stress decompress and as of late Selina had been somewhat stressed. She blamed the badge on her chest. The seventh year was super honored that she got to wear it in honor of her whole house, but it was a lot of pressure. Pressure that kept her up at night... but swimming had been sort of helpful.
But she pushed all of that away and walked over to Bentley who was admiring her work, "Hello Professor. Nice summer holiday?" Of course it was... Bentley was cool.

Greenhouses...those were on the grounds of the castle...right?
Ellura was still trying to get everything unconfused; the layout of the castle....names of people..and anything else that went along with daily life. Living and eating and going to shcool within the walls of Hogwarts. Surprising it wasn't long after the opening feast that the first notice for classes went up and the third year was careful to pay attention, writting down the date, time and location so she was ready when the time arrived,'
When it did, she headed back down from Gryffindor tower having retrieved her school supplies from her dorm and headed outside. Luckily others seemed to be know where her destination was and so Ellura was able to come across Greenhouse 6 without too much trouble. Well once she noticed the numbers denoting one greenhouse from the others. Stepping inside, the Gryffindor noticed a few students already there including the older girl...Selina...she had met at the feast as well as the woman who had been seated at the staff table and undoubtedly the professor of Herbology.
"Good day, Professor," she greeted, the woman's name escaping her at the moment.
Time for Herbology! First lesson of the term, Merlin... Aurora was a little giddy about it actually, it meant she was finally a seventh year. Though, she had been a seventh year since the first of september obviously, she just didn't feel it until now... it was WEIRD.
Aurora made her way down to the greenhouses quickly, but she didn't skip anymore... oh no, she was an adult now, no skipping there.
...
Okay maybe she skipped the tiniest bit. Her eyes widened a little as she etered the greenhouse. "Oh Merlin... this looks... wow..." It was PRETTY! And new... and... and... WOW! "Hi Professor!" she said with a grin. "How was your summer?"

And Bentley's lessons were ALWAYS the best. Speaking of the professor, he beamed at her.
"Hi Professor Bentley." That was a BIG TANK.
... he kinda wanted to get in it.

At least it wasn't that hard to get into the pattern of classes and everything again. Kendall couldn't help but be curious about what Herbology would be like after what had happened last term, along with most everything else, but at least classes were happening. That meant she could get answers easier than if she actually had to ask the questions, and Herbology got to be first. That was even better, since she got to be outside. At least, outside long enough to get to Greenhouse Six, where they’d been asked to come. If anything, she was curious about what they’d be learning, too. Aside from wondering about if anything was different after events from the previous year.
A grin had blossomed on her face as she’d set foot inside the greenhouse only to see tanks of all sorts of interesting things, and Professor Bentley gazing into one in particular that was glowing a pretty blue-green color. “Good morning Professor Bentley!,” she said happily, thinking about lake monsters again. That was one adventure her and Patrick hadn’t really gotten around to having over the summer, so she was going to have to ask people sometime later. Not the professor, though. She didn’t think she’d know much about lake monster stories, so that would have to wait until CoMC, or maybe she could ask the new groundskeeper sometime. The thoughts did bring to mind a question, though, that she could ask. “How was your summer? Did you get to do anything fun?” It was valid. professors were allowed to do fun stuff, and anyway, the lesson hadn’t started yet.

They were having Herbology class? Really?
Not that she minded of course because this was an interesting one and it was being taught by her Head of House...it was just...stuff got blown up in the Greenhouse. Where would they have class?
Making her way over she immediately noticed that the place had a new look. Woooooow. So that's what happened when you blew stuff up! You got new stuff! Pssssh, then people complained when Professor Bellaire blew up the plant. They needed to blow up some more stuff for good measure! This reminded her that she needed to check the Library. It would look new too...wouldn't it?
"Hello Professor!" She chimed as she settled in with the others. Dylan Got a wave and so did Ellura. "I like that tank...." Now she was STARING at it, hoping something cool would happen.

What subject best be their first class for the new term other than Herbology?
That was right. And despite the headaches she'd been fighting off since their first night back after the Feast, Beezus was early and rather full of enthusiast as she sauntered down to the Greenhouses.
It was a lovely day. For sure that lesson was going to be a blast.
Stepping inside, the Ravenclaw tucked a few hair strands behind her ear before searching for one of her favorite Professors, immediately finding her being crowded a few students already there. She chose not to join the assembly but tried to catch the woman's eye instead, smiling and bowing slightly when she did. She'd talk to Professor Seren later, maybe after the class...at her office.
And by the way, just look at that place!
She let her eyes roam freely around the new stuff....the tanks....they even had new plants! Wow. Just...there were no words for her right now as her mouth parted slightly in astonishment. Holy snitch. Everything looked incredibly admirable!
It was time for Orr's favorite lesson- Herbology! She literally hopped and skipped her way into the greenhouses. She was in awe of how everything looked so new and fresh!
Orr saw Professor Bentley and run up to her all gushing about her summer, "Hi, Professor! How was your summer? Mine was great but boy am I happy to be back and to have your lesson again!"

Okay, this was so not the greenhouse she remembered from her second year. First, there were some kind of water tanks all around the place. Then, Professor Bentley was practically making out with one of the said tanks. Was it written somewhere in Hogwarts' code that all professors had to be weird? Because it was definitely weird to be standing that close to a fish less tank. And what was up with that, anyway? Were they going to be studying water plants this term? Because that would be so much nicer after the stuff that had gone here last term according to her aunt. Jeez, giant man-eating plants? Sky was glad that her father had decided to pull her out, of that was the kind of thing Hogwarts thought was fun.
Anyway, back at the lesson, Sky quickly looked around the room for a chair to sit in, finding none. What was up with that, professor? People need a place to sit! Despite all this, she had a pleasant expression on her face as she greeted the odd professor. "Hello, professor."

Ivy loooooooooooved Hogwarts so much. She skipped along the path to the Greenhouse, beaming and enjoying the last bit of Summer sun. What a suprise! She wasn't hours late. That was a change. Putting her bag over her shoulder, she entered the room with a big smile.
"Good morning Professor...umm...Professor..." Ivy decided to leave it at that because there was no hope that she was going to remember the woman's name any time soon. "Did you have a nice summer?" she asked sweetly. The girl was really excited for the lesson, her first at Hogwarts. Herbology sounded cool. It was plants and stuff, right? Well, it wasn't hard to guess from their surroundings.
The first thing Messer noticed when he entered the Greenhouse was how different it look comparing with last year Greenhouse. It look nicer. WAY nicer than before. WOW! Just WOW!
And is that a tank?
O_______O
"Hello, Professor Bentley" he greeted the Herbology Professor with a curt nod.

Oichi was rather surprised just how quickly time passed before her first class of the semester was upon her was upon her. She felt excited to see just what scenery the Herbology professor put into this lesson. She quickly made her way out to the Grounds and into the greenhouses. She turned the door to greenhouse 6 and her jaw dropped. The various shapes and sizes of fish tanks was an amazing sight to see. She slowly walked in and saw the professor and said, "Hey professor Bentley, this place looks amazing, I can't wait to see what awesome lesson you have prepared for today!!!", Oichi said sounding really excited. She then went to a work station with the rest if her classmates. She noticed Lexi was there, "Hey Lexi, this place sure looks amazing, I can't wait to see what the professor has planned.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
The first thing that caught Jory's eyes as he entered the Greenhouse was the tank Professor Bentley was standing next to. He was instantly fascinated by it, because of the colour that it was emitting.
"Good day, Professor Bentley,'' the sixth year said. "Its great to see you again.''
It was one of the things Lilly had missed the most in the couple of years she had been absent from the school. Especially Professor Bentley, her ultimate favorite professor ever. and the greenhouses. How beautiful they always looked filled with flowers and various other plants. And occasionally...a tank. Like today. she looked at it curiously as she entered the classroom.
"Good morning, Professor Bentley," Lilly said with a smile at the woman. "Did you have a good summer?" and few years without her? Obviously she didn't add that part, instead heading towards a work station with only a few people at it. Because she didn't want to join one of those busy, first and second years riddled tables. No, she was too cool for that.
Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something...
Of all the classes she had first it had to be herbology.. Not that Minerva didn't like the class, nor did she not like Bentley. She really liked Professor Bentley and thought her lessons were interesting. Where else could she see gnomes and play get beat up with the creatures.
No it wasn't the class it was the plant from last term. She had enough of plants to live a life time after that plant finally got blown up. She knew Ethan nor Professor Bentley would hate if she said she was glad that plant was taken out, but truth was she was happy, but that was last term and it was there anymore, so class should just be normal right. There would be no man eating plants in this lesson... she hoped. Smiling towards Professor Bentley she greeted the professor. "Hello Professor, hope you had a good summer."
Herbology with plants and water and mud. A bit eww if you asked Ness, but she still decided to attend.
It was the first lesson of the year and a bit of enthusiasm wouldn't hurt on a day like this. The red head propped her school bag onto her shoulders and headed towards the Greenhouses.
Once there she entered inside Greenhouse six and was quite amazed with all the changed she saw. Tanks. There were many of them and all of the classroom. Did Nessie like this? Not exactly, but they were WAY better than the buckets from before.
"Good Morning, Professor." She gave Bentley a smile. Bentley had to have been one of the nicer Professor at Hogwarts and for that she got smile.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey took a long deep breath before entering the Greenhouse, who knows what kind of horrors waited inside for him. He stepped inside but kept one foot by the entrance just in case something decided to grab and eat him that very second.
But the Greenhouse here looked nice, nothing looked like it was going to kill him yet. "Hello Professor Bentley" Oakey said from a distance still standing by the entrance of the Greenhouse.

Seren had been so absorbed in observing her lovelies, that it took her a few moments to realise she was no longer lone, or at least alone with her plants... she was never alone.

She'd heard the footsteps before she heard the voice, and as she was expecting a female to be the first to arrive (it usually was), she jumped at the sound of Dylan's voice. "Aahh... morning Dylan," she replied, managing to look away from the tank and give the Slytherin a nod. He was going to perfect the art of herbology, if it was the last thing she did. "Ready and rearing to go I hope?"

Turning at the sound of another voice, Seren let her eyes adjust to the light, "Ahhh hello Jory, it's great to see you too."

Returning students were amazing. Each one a lovely surprise, each in their own right. "Lily, you're backk," she greeted, stating the obvious. "Mine was swell, how've you been?"

"Hello Minerva," she greeted the Badger. "It was wonderful, I hope you enjoyed yours as much as I did mine."

"Good morning dear," she greeted warmly, sparing a bright smile for the Hufflepuff Captain.

"Hello Oakey," she greeted, trying not to laugh at the Hufflepuff's ridiculousness. "It's ok... you won't be bitten, eaten, stung or burned in here," she reassured him. "I promise."
Checking off a few more names from her list, Seren then paused to check the time. Mmm... still a bit early. They could wait a few more minutes to start the lesson.
"Please, do wonder around and observe! The lesson will begin shortly."
OOC: The lesson will officially begin in approximately 3 hours from the time of this post.

Zhenya's eyes widened slightly. It was so good being welcomed back, not made to feel guilty for leaving. Not that she blamed her friends. "I... Well, not... not particularly good," she admitted. "But I'm just glad to be back," she added trying not to sound too melancholy.
She wasn't lying, it was good to be back - amazing. And as she wandered through the new greenhouse, she realised she was there to enjoy the new scenery at the same time as everyone else. It wasn't just one more thing she had missed. And it was incredible looking.

Oh no! He was going to be late at one of the first classes of the year! That was never acceptable and ESPECIALLY not when you were a Prefect!
With a flushed face, Daichi Katharos raced to the Greenhouses. He was lucky that he had long legs so that he could make bigger steps but even he was out of breath when he reached the classroom. He could just hear the Professor say that they were going to begin shortly and the Slytherin quickly adjusted his robe and tie to look more presentable.
The first thing that Daichi noticed that he was, thank Merlin, not late. He walked over to the Professor and tried to look as if had not just ran over from the castle. Although his sweaty face and flushed cheeks showed it all.
"Hello Professor Bentley, hope i'm not late" he said with a worried expression on his face as his bit his lower lip.

When Kat went in the Greenhouses, there were students in there ALREADY. But it seemed like she wasn't late or anything. Professor Bentley was still waiting and Kat had caught her "begin shortly" so that meant the fifth year was safe. First, Kat smiled at the Herbology Professor. "Hello Professor Bentley," she greeted. And then her eyes fell on the tank that glowed light.
Interesting lesson, this was going to be.
After greeting and looking at the tank for a while, Kat took a seat. And she liked Bentley so maybe this class wouldn't be bad right?

Seren had been so absorbed in observing her lovelies, that it took her a few moments to realise she was no longer lone, or at least alone with her plants... she was never alone.
Aurora's entrance hadn't gone unnoticed, and the girls reaction to the rennovations made her heart flutter. "You like?"
She smiled warmly, "My summer was... very productive."
Checking off a few more names from her list, Seren then paused to check the time. Mmm... still a bit early. They could wait a few more minutes to start the lesson.

Like? She LOVED it! "It's amazing, professor..." she said, still looking around in wonder. It was all so PRETTY! "Did you do all this by yourself?" Surely not..? But then Aurora really believed she could...
Productive? Obviously! Just look at all this! Had she even had time for anything else..? But then she was being invited to wander around... and she certainly wasn't going to pass up that offer. Aurora grinned at Professor Bentley before moving off to inspect all the pretty plants and things... TOTALLY NOT RUNNING BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE IRRESPONSIBLE... okay she was restraining herself...
