Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Why was she so tired? It made no sense. OH YEAH. School was already up and running and it seemed the teachers had forgotten the students had their brains turned to sludge with mind numbing holidays and spending hours at a time watching television over the Summer. Ungh. Blue dragged herself up the stairs and entered her dorm. She pulled her jumper over her head and tossed it over to her hamper at the end of her bed. Now that she was up here she actually wasn't that tired. MEH. She hated when that happened.

What could she do noooow? She didn't even have homework. But it was too late to go out and fly a few laps around the Quidditch pitch. She put on her slippers just cause they were soft and like walking on a pillow before plucking her hair brush of her dresser and running it through a few locks of hair, humming to herself and twirling around the room.

The school year had just started and ALREADY Dora had so much to do. Not anything that had to do with the subjects they were just beginning to touch on in their lessons, but the stuff they didn't or had yet to. The young third year had her OWN agenda. And lots of books.

She currently had a big book on muggles tucked under her arm as she made her way back into the dorms, not really tired but just wanting to not be where every student in the school could get to her. And there was no one in the common room that she wanted to be surrounded by. But there was a Blue in their dorms, and her company was always welcomed. "Whatcha hummin'?" Dora swung her satchel on her bed, the book on muggles not far behind, and looked over at her twirling friend with interest.

Tired? No, Amelia was nowhere near the realm of tired, exhausted wasn't even close to it either. No, Amelia felt like a mix between the living and the undead-half living zombie thing. She was ready to crash - but it was all mental.

Pfft, she wasn't actually tired. Nope, she'd clearly had too much chocolate.

She just started mumbling things and walked into the dormitory and jumped onto her bed. Yep, she was cozycozycozy.

"Hey" she smiled to everyone who was in there.

Rachel opened the door slowly, covering her eyes from her new dormitory.

- Ok, it's time - said the girl, peeking through her fingers and then finally taking her hand off her eyes - ohmygodohmygodOHMYGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - screamed the freshman.

She covered her mouth in shock for two reasons:
1) The dormitory was so beautiful she could not believe her eyes;
2) There were some girls there and she had just screamed, possibly making them angry.

- Sorry! - she whispered, going straight to the bed she identified as hers because of her trunk in front of it.

Trying not to make any loud noise, the girl opened her trunk, catch some clothes and changed, going downstairs again, taking all her homework with her.

Gwen came back from the Common Room.

And stumbled over something when she got at the top of the stairs.

And then regained her balance.

And then stumbled again.

Grinning sheepishly at the people who were in the room, the sixth year continued to walk around, not minding to pay attention to the objects on the floor which were in her way. Ughh. Where was he? The girl looked around, but there was no sign of the black cat. Where could Jinx be?

‘Has anyone seen my cat?’, the sixth year asked, drawing her attention away from the floor in order to look at the people who were in the room. Has really no one seen Jinx? Now she was beginning to worry.

Presley stepped into the common room just in time to hear Gwen ask if anyone had seen that cat of hers. "Jinx?" she asked. "I think I might have seen him over by the owlery?" It could very well have been anyone's cat, there were a plethora at this school, but it was a black cat, and might have been Gwens.

She glanced around at everyone already in there as she veered toward her bed. "Hey everyone." she hadn't yet had time to unpack so all of her things were still somewhere in her many trunks. She pulled the most likely one up onto her bed and flipped it open to search for her pajamas. Nope, this was skirts. She snapped it shut and shoved it onto the floor pulling up another trunk. This was the right one. Presley pawed through and found her favorite coziest jammies.

Presley changed and flopped down on her bed. She wasn't tired, but the pile of homework that awaited her was so daunting that she wanted to be tired. Sighing she sat up and scooted back against the headboard, dragging her backpack with her. Time to get to work.

Flump.

The sound of someone throwing themselves onto their bed was obvious - so was the creaking noise the bed made as the body connected with it. The bed in question was the rather rickety, rather loud, and annoying bed that belonged to the rather unlucky Amelia Johanson.

"stop squeaking!" She huffed at the bed and quickly fixed it again - silencing it wouldn't do much. If she did that she wouldn't know it needed to be fixed and then one night the whole room would hear a scream and not realize that a bed had in fact silently fallen in the night.

Besides.

Fixing was the Ravenclaw thing to do.

Bed fixed the girl got up off of the bed and walked over to her trunk again for the umpteenth time that afternoon. It wasn't a cold day but really - it was cold enough and she just wasn't herself. Opening the trunk she pulled out what appeared to be a mountain of candy and proceeded to drop it ontop of her bedspread. Sitting down next to the mountain she embarked on the most important decision of the day.

Which candy to eat first.

Which was partly why she so happily check out the books and skipped along back up the thousands of stairs back to her dorm, ready to get cracking on very important stuff and also have a long over-due girly chat with Mika.

The third year was already taking out her books from her school bag when she kicked open the door to her dorm. "OHAI MIKA. Dora not here yet?" She glanced at the empty bed next to her own and shrugged. "Merlin knows where she is." Blue tossed her bag to the foot of her bed before NOTICING THE GIGANTIC PILE OF SWEETS.

"SWEET PARTY?"

The brunette snagged a handful of jelly slugs and sat cross-legged on her duvet, nomming one's head, pulling over one of her new books that she'd been lent and probably wasn't going to give back. "SO, girl talk? What be up, Amelia, daaaaaarling?"

Mika smiled over to Blue as she picked up some of the jelly slugs - really she didn't mind if she ate all of them. Because they wiggled - and when she saw them all she could think was dirt-floor and twig covered slugs. Like the ones who had jumped and tumbled from the tree house the other day.

"No" munch.munch.swallow "blech...haven't seen her" she flushed as she tried not to spit out the rather disgustingly troll bogey flavored every flavor bean. "I shouldn't have eaten that...it tasted like bogies and trunk-lint" she quickly took a bite out of a cauldron cake that took away the flavor from her mouth.

Still - the memory of that funky, disgusting, and utterly disturbing flavor was not fun at all. What was up?

Oh god. Did she know? She'd only told Ella yesterday?

Mika's eyes were the tell-tale sign that indeed something was up - they had grown to the size of saucers or so it had seemed. BUT not in a bad way they were all lovey-dovey and happy.

"Girl talk" she smiled her voice taking on a dreamy tone, "well... not much is up other than um I kind of realized that...there well...I have a friend and that friend likes ano-oh Merlin. Can I start over I'm going to start over." Mika was flushing crimson at this time.

Taking her pillow and squealing into it the next thing she did was look up to Blue her cheeks even more red then they had been before. "Alright...so girl-talk attempt um...I really like this guy and I don't know what to do." She flatly stated as she stared down at the candy pile. Reaching down she picked up a toffee and began to open it. "Blue...I - you have to promise not to tell anyone especially not West or Theo or anyone this...I mean Ella knows and its okay if Dora does too but...no telling anyone who might tell the guy." She bit her lip before practically blurting the name out at the top of her lungs...well - it was really just a very loud and very audible whisper.

"I like Kaiden..." her eyes were wide, and shock-wide, holy heck who else had heard her. "I've liked him for a while...really, all term almost but I was just hiding those feelings with candy and um...flirting with other people - but I think I did that because I didn't want to like him..." She squirmed and put the candy back on the bed.

"Oh Merlin - I like him...god...he's like my best guy-friend ya know? And I don't think its good to like him. Do you know any potions that make eyou not-like someone?" She asked in a pleading tone. "I'd rather drink green sludge then have him know" she flushed and then laughed as she realized what she had said. "of course if he felt the same it would be different and Blue you might have to smack me with a pillow because I can't turn off my brain and I'm just going to keep talking...and gah" she flushed and pulled her knees against her chest.

Lily snuck up to the dorms as everyone else seemed to be going down to the Great Hall for lunch. However, the fourth year couldn't even think about lunch. She had gotten an owl earlier in the week about her cousin being in Mungo's. By the looks of the letter, he had already been in there for a long while. Every day since she had gotten the letter, she had skipped lunch and sat on her bed alone, wishing that Phoenix would bring her good news about her cousin.

Today was no different. The claw sat on her bed staring out of her little window. Phoenix was no where in sight, so her gaze drifted elsewhere.

The last match of the season was the next day. Turning away from the window, Lily flopped onto her bed and faced away from the door, pretending to sleep in case anyone came in looking for her.

Taylor plopped down next to Lily on the bed, "Hey, Lily... how is your cousin doing?" Her mother have been sending letters to her and she was worried about the two of them. Her mother and Benjy have been going through a lot. "Are you okay?" She ignored the fact that Lily was faking being asleep.

Instead of replying, to whomever it was(though yes...she knew who it was), Lily just continued to lay on her bed, pretending to be asleep.

Until the thought of her cousin caused her to start crying, something she had been trying to avoid except in the very dark of night. So when Taylor asked if she was alright, Lily's body started to shake as she started sobbing, still not looking up at her friend but rather burying her face further into the pillows.

Taylor sighed and rubbed Lily's back, "Come on, Lily! At least acknowledge me!" She pouted and pulled the blankets and pillows away. "Stop hiding from it. It doesnt help. Laying in bed isnt going to distract you!" Tay was getting annoyed.

Lily shook her head, trying to bury herself even deeper in her pillow... which was being ripped away. Sitting up so that she could grab her pillow back, a still-sobbing Lily glared at Taylor. "NO!.... You don't even know what it's like!!!" She yelled, grabbing her pillow and flopped back down onto her bed, sobbing harder now.

The letter she had gotten from her parents only mentioned that Benjy was in Mungo's and had said nothing about Eliza being there too.

Taylor growled at Lily, "My father died and my mother is in the stinkin Mungo's with your cousin and I dont know what it is like?" Tay started to snarl, "Want to try that again, Lily, or should I just leave your whiny butt alone?" Taylor's fists curled and she tried not to lunge at her friend.

Lily glanced up at Tay, as tears still streamed down her face. "Your...... your mom's in Mungo's?" She asked, starting to wipe her face off with her robes. "I...I didn't know, Tay......."

Benjy and Eliza both in Mungo's? Something had to have happened back home, and Lily wasn't there to find out about it.

Tay nodded, "Yeah, she had surgery because of the pregnancy... she had been sleeping in Benjy's room ever since he got hurt by Grandfather but then she had to have surgery..." Taylor sighed and sat back down on the bed, "Sorry for snapping, Lily."

The fourth year hugged her pillow to her chest as she listened to Taylor explain what had happened. "All I heard was that Benjy had been seriously hurt and was in Mungo's.... and I only just heard earlier this week via a letter from my dad." She said, quietly, hanging her head.

Turning on her bed so that she could face the window again, Lily spoke. "I should be the one apologizing... I shouldn't have yelled at you." She finished, wiping her face again.

Taylor hugged her friend and rubbed her back, "How about we forgive each other and forget what happened, okay?" She faked a smile and stroked Lily's head. "I should have been more understanding though..." Tay sighed and looked down at her friend, "Lets have some fun and try to forget."

Lily nodded very slightly, still staring out the window, seemingly lost in her thoughts. Only snapping back into reality with Taylor's last sentence, the fourth year turned her head to stare at Tay. "Don't you get it??...because you should since your mother's lying in a hospital bed...... I can't just forget and have fun. My cousin could be dead for all I know." She said, starting to raise her voice again. "He just got married.... and for all I know, he could be so badly hurt that he can't go home and live his life... and have kids..." Slowly, Lily's voice began to break as the tears came again and she buried herself back in her bed.

Tay stood up and snarled, "There is no sense in pouting about something we cant change or even help to change!" Taylor was starting to get annoyed and mad again, "We cant do anything for your cousin or even my mom so it is just a waste of time moping about it! Come on, Lily! It is almost the end of the term... lets do something!"

Lily stopped crying enough to look at Taylor. "Just go then!!" She tried to yell. "I'm sorry if you can't deal with how I deal with these types of circumstances..... I'm not like you or Louisa... I can't just hide this and go have fun... I just can't..." She said, her voice cracking again. "Not when he's like this..."

Lily got up from her bed and walked over to her window, scrunching herself up so that she could sit in her windowsill, staring out over the grounds.

Tay growled, "Oh come on, Lily! You are just being a whiny butt... you just need to be distracted! How about this... you and i go do something and if I cant get you to smile in an hour, I will leave you alone... deal?" She looked at her, crossing her arms.

"Maybe I don't want to be distracted...." Lily snapped back, not drawing her gaze from the grounds. Truthfully, all Lily wanted was to be with her cousin, but since she knew that wasn't going to happen until the term was over, her next best option was to talk with Louisa...who also wasn't around. So her third best option.... sit in her windowsill hoping for a letter. She knew once lunch time was up, she'd have to go out...especially because she had quidditch practice later, but for now she wanted to just sit and wait.

"How about this... you go to lunch and I'll stay here waiting to hear more about Benjy and your mom." The fourth year said, knowing that it wasn't going to fly.
