The only reason she was here at Hogwarts was due to the fact the summer rush was decidedly over and that meant she could close up shop for an afternoon. Possibly the whole day, but that depended on how long the fundraiser was going to be. Aliceara had donated a small little thing to the auction that was supposed to be happening as well, and it was quite interesting being back at Hogwarts after so many years. She almost felt herself slipping back into being her old self, back when she’d been a slightly troublesome Gryffindor, but she managed to hold most of it back. A bit of the rebel fit with her chosen costume for the event, but not as much as she’d had back then. It was quite interesting to look at the few people who had still been around the media table as she had arrived, too. Most of the females were still wearing skirts, which made her feel like she stuck out a bit. That didn’t bother her. At least, it wouldn’t have bothered her if she was fully immersed still in her previous career, but she still was used to attention from the shop.

Just not attention from being in disguise as a boy. She’d always loved Les Miserables, though, both the book and then the subsequent musical, and she’d decided to show that love even if nobody else knew who she was supposed to be. That gave her an idea, as she set both a copy of the book down on the table as well as five galleons and noticed the nametags. Maybe she could play around a bit with that. Picking up a pen, she quickly wrote on the nametag then carefully placed it below the rosette she’d pinned to the lapel of her coat before turning to head into the function. She thought she’d heard the auction getting started, so perhaps she’d pick up a paddle and spend some money. At the very least, she was curious how certain other items would do, and she could always mingle while she was investigating things near the auction.

Lucas had at the last minute decided to go to the fundraiser for the Hogwarts library and thus the available costumes had grown quite thin. Buying an elven prince costume complete with the pointy ears the same day as the fundraiser the blond young man of 19 years old was set. Decked out in his costume and with the pointy ears put Lucas made the trip to Hogwarts.

Entering the check in area Lucas gave them the 5 galleons entry fee and added a slightly dog eared copy of 'Alice in Wonderland' to the book pile. Seeing Willow just ahead looking pretty in a Maid Marian dress Lucas called out "Willow, wait up!" It would be nice to have company for the auction.

Standing by the Headmistress in his musketeer costume Leo was all big smiles and excitement as the guests started to arrive and donate both books and galleons to the library. Registering the donations Leo said to the Headmistress when there was a little lull in the line of people arriving to pay and donate. "You look very stunning tonight Annie." Leo commented. If it was one thing his boss knew it was how to dress to impress.

"I hope plenty of people will turn up and spend money in the auction." He stated quietly as he saw more people enter the room.

Leo was about to ask Annie a query he had about the auction when two people arrived together, the girl striking him as familiar. She was probably a student at the school. "Good evening. Thank you for your generous book donations." Leo said to the man as he registered all three books on his long parchment. At the girl in the Rapunzel costume Leo gave a little wink. "All the books will be available for borrowing soon enough." Who didn't like new books?



The next person to arrive at the Media Table was a woman in an eye-striking dress. Leo’s eyes widened with gratitude and amazement as about 40 textbook’s landed in front of him on the table. "Thank you very, very much for your more than generous book donation, Miss?" Leo was just stunned. Was she a BoG candidate or just someone with a big generous heart?



"Good evening. Thank you for your book donation. I hope you'll enjoy the auction." Leo said to the woman dressed up in a green angel dress for the night. The student’s hoping to excel in Herbology classes would definitely borrow the book.



"Good evening. Thank you for your book donation. I hope you’ll enjoy the auction." Leo said as he registered yet another book on his growing list of book donations. The woman looked somewhat familiar but he couldn’t place her. Maybe she was a prophet writer or something?



The next person to come up and donate was none other than the new Astronomy professor Airey Flamsteed. Leo had so far only spoken briefly with the man since they didn’t sit near each other at mealtimes and the occasional conversation in the staff room. "Good evening Airey." Leo greeted with a polite nod. "Thank you for your book donations.".



The next people to arrive for the fundraiser were a group of people that were a little loud for Leo’s taste but they seemed excited and more importantly eager to donate and help with restoring the library. "Good evening, thank you all for your donations. Enjoy the auction." He chirped happily.




It seemed it was group arrival time since a group of females of varying ages arrived to make notable money contributions of over 100 galleons together. "Thank you so much for your very generous money donations." Leo quickly mouthed out before the women left to head on over to the auction.

"Me, give you a heart attack?" he chuckled as he rubbed her side softly with the palm of his hand. "It's not like I am defanging a Bloody Red Rose without any protective gear. Just making space toys look sexy." And yes, there was a smirk on his lips as he said this. Not his fault that even this ridiculous get up looked good on him. It was a nice change from his lab coat - which he had been wearing at the Ministry all the time now thanks to the drooling zombie beavers or whatever they were.

Cocking an eyebrow at her as they walked, Aron debated whether or not to be playful with his reply or turn all protective husband like his insides were telling him to. "I thought that was rather obvious," he replied, going somewhere in the middle with his reply as he kissed her cheek. Although he did find it a little unfair and ridiculous that he would be bidding on someone that he was married to...maybe he could just bid to make sure that only someone old and wrinkly or a student who just wanted private tutoring won her? That was fair, yes?

Perhaps it was too soon for her to be feeling nostalgic about being in the school's library since it hadn't even been a year since she had graduated, but spending so much time in the library in Romania studying and memorizing hatchery facts and procedures made her miss the familiar surroundings. It was just a shame that she had return to find the Reference Section still in shambles.

Stepping into the library with a stack of cook and baking books in her arms along with copies of the yearbooks from her seven terms at Hogwarts, Kurumi glanced to her right and smiled nervously at Treyen. It had been nice to travel with him here and just have a day out together really. Those had seemed to be few and far between despite them both being graduated now and both living in the same city. "How does it feel to be back?" she asked, poking him in the side with her elbow playfully before setting her donation down on the table and grabbing a name tag.

Medea was all smiles when she walked towards the library, two books in hand. It was a fundraiser to help their amazing library at the school after that unfortunate and terrible incident, and it was a costume event. Of book characters, of all things. How great was that!? The professor took up the opportunity to go as a character from a muggle story, wondering how many others were going as such.

Pausing by the table that had a good amount of books upon it, as well as those shiny gold coins, Medea placed her two own books into the mix; Souls of Ghouls: Understanding Your Irritating Guest and The Art of Dueling. She took little notice to see what other titles have been placed there as she wrote her name on one of the tags, due to her attention being diverted to all the colorful and fun outfits.

Oh! Like this fellow here. "Hello, Leo. Vonderful turnout from the looks of things."

Bryce was bouncing on his feet. Not literally, mind you, since his wife probably wouldn't have approved of such a childish act after he went and dressed as THIS, but in his mind, he was bouncing on his feet. It was hard to keep the goofy grin off of his face as he held onto the straps of his turtle backpack, looking around the walls of the school. Merlin, it'd been a long time since he was here. Still looked exactly the same though. He half expected to have one of his previous professors pop up from somewhere.

Alright, maybe there was a little bounce in his step, literally. Though it stopped when they came to the donations table. Fishing the galleons out of his pocket, he pulled out 10 galleons, letting them bounce upon the table one by one so he could count them correctly. Yup, all there. He turned to beam at Layla. "What do you think they're auctioning off?"

People had these name tag things on them. Where'd they get those?

Botros was hoping he wouldn't be late, as usual, considering this was a considerably close event from his office. What he forgot to consider was the outfit. Deborah used to take care of these issues, his shirt, his trousers, his tie, his cardigan, and his shoes. He still hasn't figured out a way to remember to save extra time to taking care of them all now that Deborah was too far away to do it.

Now he was ready to enter the room and stop worrying about the whole new outfit. Ab was glad Sherlock Holmes had a decent taste in fashion, he didn't have to wear a bonnet or put on a hook to his hand. He walked over to the table and wrote down the name of his character, stuck the tag on his Sherlock cape. Five galleons were thrown into the table too, even if he already donated three of his valuable possessions.

With his cane Ab started to slowly walk to the seating area...

"Favorite Book Character" costume, Juliet found that hard. She read a lot of books and most of which she has a favorite character in it. So it's not fair to just choose one, right? But then all she had to do was to pick one random favorite character and then she can be happy with it. Juliet doesn't really mind. Books are fun, especially the fictional ones--- and especially the ones written by muggles. They have the most amusing and yet intellectual imaginations written in ink. Brilliant. Walking over to the table, she spotted a familiar teacher, Professor Botros. He's one of the new professors. On her hand was a greek mythology book, hence why she her costume is also part of the mythology. Quickly glancing over to the professor's book, she read out "Sherlock" and then as she finally realizes that she just said it out loud, her hands immediately covered her mouth and looked at the professor. "I'm sorry..." she apologizes "I'm a big fan of mysteries as well" and then she quickly took a nametag and wrote her name on it. As well as putting her book on the table.

Auction, who doesn't like that. Plus it's held at Hogwarts too and that's even better. Jonathan of course could not wait to apparate from his university to join in this activity. Now, let's just hope Alexander is not to be seen in this party. That would be dangerous. The man doesn't really know where he goes nowadays.

Walking inside the library, of course he felt the most nostalgic thing ever. He hasn't been in the library for most of the time when he was here but Jonathan definitely miss it, ALOT. He's quite excited about the auction too. He can't wait to bid on something. He then took the nametag that is provided on the table and scribbled his complete name in it. That'll do. ohhhh, plus the book. He almost forgot, he took out a copy of the One Thousand and One Nights. He read that, all of it. He's pretty much proud of himself and now, he's donating it.

It took Sophia a really long time to decide on what she would show up to this fundraising event as. She had her mind half made up to show up without a costume but in the end she decided against that and settled on the perfect thing. She'd come as Queen Cleopatra.

She stopped at the table and made her own donations there, giving exactly the five galleon requested since she'd end up giving away more money by the end of this term anyways.

After donating Sophia scanned the crowd for Leobald..now just where was he?

Layla's lips were pursed to a thin line as she made her way to the fundraiser with Bryce. Why the man had decided to come as a turtle was beyond her level of comprehension and try as she might she could not get him to change his mind, which irked her even more. But here they were, him dressed as a turtle and she as Lady Macbeth, from the Shakespeare play Macbeth.

She eyed Bryce briefly as he started bouncing on the ball of his feet and getting excited."Bryce please this is important." She whispered to him as she looked around the room."We need to make an impression, try to look dignified...or well as dignified as possible wearing a turtle outfit." She adjusted the thing on his back. she dropped another ten galleons in the donation thing and took Bryce's hand leading him off to the direction she'd spotted Colby in.

Hmmm?

Oh right, this was important stuff. Layla, running for the board of governors and all. He nodded all seriously, stopping the little bounce his feet were making him do. Yes, yes, important. Dignity. He had that. "I am the most dignified person in the room." he muttered in return. Whether he was speaking to Layla or just in general, whatever the case, Bryce puffed out his chest a little. Dignified.

Oh, they were walking. OH! They were auctioning something! WHATISIT!?

Was what sad and what couldn't he tell the difference of?

Destiny simply stared at Carter, wide-eyed before slowly nodding her head. She.. really had no idea what in the name of Merlin he was talking about, but she had learned to just play along when that happened. It had taken many times of that happening for her to realize that. "Yeah. Very sad. If you're into that kind of stuff." She gave her husband's arm that she had been holding onto a little pat pat pat..

.. only to almost lose hers when Marie pulled her into a hug. She just.. wasn't expecting that. That's all. "Marie!" she gave her best friend's back a pat pat pat before pulling away and glancing around. "Where is Matty?" Was he not coming? And if not, did her best friend have enough money on her to bid on everything she wanted?

Ehh, if not, she would just make Carter get it for her. Yup.

And speaking of Carter.. Destiny couldn't help but burst out laughing. She may have just ignored the fact that she had used her old name on purpose. But really, writing down a new name took a lot of getting used to! Sometimes, she even spelled it wrong. Not that she would say that. "He doesn't look like a candy cane. He's Waldo. And I found him." Again.

Ignoring everyone, except those lucky few who he had gently bopped on the head or poked in the side with his very kingly scepter, Waylon strolled himself into the Hogwarts library, and immediately made his way over to the table where those fancy name tags were. Of course, he really didn't want to wear one, he didn't know what the purpose of them were even for, but he grabbed one nonetheless and quickly scribbled his name onto it. KING Waylon Murdoch, though, seeing as he was King of the Wild Things. And he had worked at Hogwarts long enough to know that there were indeed wild things there.

Plus, he really just wanted someone to call him king. That was all.

He slapped the name tag right onto his chest before digging.. in all the places he could to pull out his five galleons and his own copy of Where the Wild Things Are. Setting everything down onto the table once he found them, and only after he snuck a peek at what everyone else had already donated, the former Groundskeeper raised his scepter high over his head and marched himself over to the auction platform.

No, he didn't want those sandals.

'Favorite Book Character'.

Are you serious? That was, like, the hardest decision Treyen could ever make. EVER. By all means, make him choose between anything else and he'd be fine, but BOOKS?! CHARACTERS?!

It was easy to know who to come with, right? Especially since THIS was their place. The library. So, when Kurumi asked this question, his smile widened, "Considering I'm with you...then excellent!" because it was still the library, and it sort of felt like home, you know? Probably not the same if he'd come with Arya.

Either way, at least Ellie will be happy he was giving a few lots of books away, right?

Back to the favorite book character...he never got to choose, his conversation with Ella about favorites and books came to mind when he found out about this 'event'. Which brought him to think of those detective books, yes? Instinctively, he thought of Sherlock Holmes, but he didn't want to pick a favoriteeeee, so...why not dress up as the supporting role, eh? And his least favorite character, yeah? Dr. Watson. A SMART Dr. Watson, mind you. Mustache included (that was the real costume). The clothes were easy to find, too, because it was mostly a suit, and the wardrobe people took care of that for him. So, now he was a more modern Kingsley.

Hearing someone call out her name Willow turned around and saw Luke there. "Luke?" she asked her eyes wide. Was she really just imagining him or was he actually there? It had been months since she'd seen him! How was she supposed to greet him too? They had become friends after meeting in Fiji and there was definitely something there, they'd just not really tested to find out what was there.

"I heard your now with Gringotts." she said with a smile "Congrats." She loved his costume with the elf ears, she thought he looked really cute in it. then again she always had thought he looked cute in anything he'd been in...including the swim trunks.

Feeling ridiculous, Alistaire Firth walked into the library. He was dressed once again in his kilt and jacket from the Feast, figuring there must be a character in a book somewhere who wore this. He was not much of one for dress-up. I just hope no one asks me who I'm dressed up as.

The Groundskeeper plunked down Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean as his fee to get in. Ridiculous that I should have to pay, really. I'm only here because I'm up for sale. He sighed. He... should probably put away the sour attitude and glue on a smile. Resigning himself to a torturous evening of hobnobbing and sucking up, he wrote "Alistaire Firth" on a tag and affixed it to his jacket.

Entering, he made a beeline for the corner. He wanted to avoid small talk for as long as possible.

Holding Evelyn's hand, Josh walked in the crowded place looking around. He was dressed as...well...himself which meant jeans and a simple shirt, his old Gryffindor tie around his neck as a sing that he was excited to be back here. The Library had never been among his favourite places in the school but...he was excited to be back anyway. It felt great.

And apparently the library was as crowded as it probably had never been. Wow! He was sure that among that crowd his old friends were present...somewhere but he failed to see any as he looked around. ''Do you see anyone familiar?'' he whispered to Evelyn as he led her to the table there. Name tags, of course. He put the book he had bought, Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, on the table and freed his girlfriend's hand to get himself a name tag. 'Joshua Carter' he scribbled quickly and put it on his shirt.

Cassandra Trelawney hadn't really wanted to come... but she'd hoped maybe she would make some connections and get out of the rut she was in. She dressed in a Healer uniform... plenty of medical books, right? Fiction didn't have to be the only thing.

Nik... maybe he'd be here... Someone to talk to, and to help her play off the fact that she was no longer wealthy. She was at five months and she was showing, but the healer robe hid it well enough she didn't need glamour charms.

Food...there was usually a table of food at these kind of functions, yeah? The blonde held her magnifying glass up to her right eye and began scoping the place out. She really should have brought some gummy worms with her because honestluy, she didn't think dying of starvation was a good thing... especially during a school function.

Who was that that Ella spied with her green eyes? WAS THAT KURUMI?! Like...Sir Lewis' Lady, Kurumi? Like...COOKIE KURUMI?! BEAM! The fifteen year old badger hurried in that direction, a wide smile plastered on her face.

"KURUMI!" Wave. Wave. BLINK.

Was that...but...he was here? SIR TREYEN WAS HERE TOO?!

The blonde just kind of stared from one to the other, her mouth slightly ajar. This was...THE BEST DAY EVER! Group hug? Ella thought so!

"SIR TREYEN! KURUMI!...You're hereeeeee!" And Ella tackled hurried over to wrap both graduates in a bear badger hug. BEAM!

Ivy had still been glaring at eyeing Erik and that on lady professor, but she was soon distracted by the voice behind the table. Turning her head, her eyes landed on attractive man. Ah, yes, he was the librarian. She gave him a quick look over... and approved. "Ivy Knox, Board of Governors Candidate," she introduced herself with a slightly sly smile, extending her hand towards the man. "I teach Spagyrics over in Athens and I had some... extra textbooks. I know the subject isn't taught here, but I thought there might be some students interested in the subject."

She stepped a smidgen closer. "You must be Mister Kitridge, yes?" She had read about him and his library in the paper.

With her boyfriend's hand in hers, Evelyn followed him into the crowded area just a step behind, having to momentarily slow down a little for someone else to pass. It'd been a long time since they were last here, and now that they were, it was almost surreal. Felt like just yesterday they graduated.

Did she see anyone familiar? "Hmmm, not yet." she said while taking out five galleons from her pocket and placing them next to the book. What a terrible event that happened to their library. Was it wrong of her to want to see how damaged it was? Writing out her own name on a tag, she placed it on the left of her jacket.

Her arm linked with Josh's right after doing so. "Oh look! There's Destiny and the others."

Kurumi felt like she was right back to being that awkward second year in the library with Treyen - but maybe that was due to her feeling overly nostalgic about being back at Hogwarts. Or so she thought until Treyen spoke and then her cheeks were all rosy and she reached for some of her long black hair to play with only to remember at the last minute that it was up in a tight bun atop her head. "Not fair that you still make me blush," she mumbled as she tried to find something else to do with her hands to distract...which ended up being poking his mustache. "We spent a lot of time in here...didn't we?"

It had turned out to be their place which, now that Kurumi knew more, was rather ironic that it was a library where there were BOOKS and BOOKS meant that a certain someone wasn't able to happen to spot them and make more sweeping accusations. Okay, so maybe Kurumi wasn't being fair, but it was hard to shake all the years of glares. Even if it was for someone she cared about as much as she did Treyen. He was like family.

Poking at his mustache with her index finger a few times, Kurumi couldn't help but laugh. "You ever thought about making that look perman---"

Kurumi had just barely heard her and Treyen's names being called out before someone had come at a mad dash from somewhere and caught the pair of them up in a giant hug. Smashed together, Kurumi slowly turned her head to see, "Ella!" Somehow freeing one of her arms, Kurumi returned the badger's hug and the look of confusion on her face faded to a happy one. "Just arrived." And it felt good to be back.

The former Hogwartian looked around the area to see who else was here that she knew and spotted a certain couple that she was glad to see still together. "Josh! Evelyn!" Kurumi called while waving a little with her free hand. It was too bad Walnut wasn't here too. He would have loved to see Evelyn them both she was sure.

Lex couldn't help but laugh...and laugh...then laugh some more. She didn't think it was possible for someone who hated books as much as her to somehow end up in one. And if she did she knew for a fact that she wouldn't read it. "And I couldn't agree with you more. Life's at least a zillion times more fun when cool stuff happened." Which was why she was beginning to question her own sanity for wanting to come here. Books weren't exciting, they were average at best and not at all things she wasted her time on. It wasn't until she watched a Professor walk by that she remembered. They would be auctioning them off and she might have wanted to buy one. It wasn't like she knew what she'd do if she got one of them for a day but the fact was that they were available and being available was all the reason she ever needed for wanting something.

"It's a pleasure meeting you young lady." He extended her hand for her to shake. So she was another Gryffindor...interesting..."That's an interesting costume." He commented. "Can I ask who you're dressed as?" He read, but he had a select few genres he read from and that character was obviously not on his small list.

"Oh I'm here for the food and the auctions! I couldn't care less about the books." Reading. Meh. There were too many other things to do for her to ever pick up reading as a hobby. "What about you?"

Dressed as Hamlet, Keefer Marius strode into the Hogwarts library. He quickly scribbled his name on a tag and affixed it to his costume. Just like old times. I even used this same costume for the Boofire. Some things never changed.

After paying his fee, the Magpies Keeper scanned the crowd. He spotted a very familiar back of a head. Is that...? Yes, it had to be. "Ella? Ella Bishop?!" And standing next to her... "Kurumi? TREYEN?!" He was suddenly VERY happy he'd decided to come.

Dressing up in a costume was not Scabior's thing. But it was for the library and for books. So he had gone out of his way to look for something that fit his personality just a little bit. He had managed to find the perfect costume, last minute. Most likely because he only started looking last minute. It was dark, and it covered his face. And the book wasn't too bad either so, perfect.

Running just a little late he managed to slip out in front and place a book in front of Leo. "I have more for you, but obviously you can get them later." His own published books. After all, why not fill the Hogwarts library up with an amazing author? Leo knew it was him right? He had best.

Being forced to wear a costume and be auctioned off? Well both took a toll on his attitude.

Slipping past Leo, Dash made his way over to the auction.

Alyssa walked up to register for the auction. She picked up a sticker that had "Hello my name is..." written on it, pulled out a pen and added, "Alyssa Potter". Sticking it to her shirt. She then noticed the table where Mr. Kittredge was sitting.

She felt bad for him. She had heard that the beautiful library had been burned last term. All those books. Alyssa shook her head sadly. Many books that could never be replaced. She didn't have a book with her, so Alyssa dug into her mokeskin bag and counted out 2 galleons. She knew that students only needed to donate 8 sickles but she figured that her birthday money would be going to a good cause.

"Here you are, Mr. Kittredge. I will OWL my dad tonight and ask him to donate some books to the library. I'm sure that the Foundation will be more than happy to help out." Alyssa smiled at the librarian. Then she turned at noticed the press table and quickly turned her head. She DEFINITELY did not want her picture taken.

It had been roughly... twenty years since Nikolai had set foot onto the Hogwarts grounds, and despite the current state of the library and other areas in the school, the castle looked much like it had back when he was a student here.

Nikolai Vannacutt, businessman, ex-professional quidditch player, and confirmed bachelor, did not enjoy the feeling of being back here. Especially not in this particular section. The library was where most of the best (and worst) things had happened to him in his adolescent years.
