Where did that cat go?

Apparently Elise had had enough of the common room and was in the mood to explore the castle as she had squeezed through the opening in the door when someone opened it. Good thing Ethan had his eye on the cat when she left so he could go after her. He followed her down several flights of stairs, pausing at the fifth floor as he was sure he had seen the Siamese turn the corner.

The sixth year slowed his pace as he walked down the corridor. "Elise?" he attempted, though he knew she rarely responded to her name. The boy stopped in front of an odd-looking statue. "You look lost, too," he chuckled, taking in its appearance. "Seen a cat?" Not that he really expected a response..

Christmas was just exploring when she came across somebody looking for something and said "Hey there have you lost something"

Ethan turned as he heard a voice behind him. Oh, it was that girl that he had seen in Divination and thought looked familiar.. "Um, yes, actually.." he started, looking at the girl and trying to place her. "My cat.. Have you seen a Siamese come this way?"

Christmas thought and said "Sorry i don't think i have seen a cat pass me by"

Ethan was slightly crestfallen. but he was sure his cat had to be close by. "Well, if you see her.. can you let me know? Her name is Elise." Not that she ever came to her name.

He peered behind the statue, still no sign of her. The he turned back around and gave the girl a sort of appraising look. "I know you from somewhere.." He thought for a moment. "You went to Beauxbatons, didn't you?"

Christmas nodded at the boy and said "Sure i will let you know and yes i did go to Beauxbatons"

Ethan gave her a small but grateful smile and said, "Thanks." Then he nodded a bit enthusiastically. "Yes.. I thought so.. I went there too, just transferred here last term." He thought for a moment more. She wasn't in his year.. a little younger. Oh that's right! "You're friends with my cousin, Claudette, aren't you?" She was a couple years younger and he was pretty sure they were in the same year.

Christmas smiled at the boy and said "Yeah i am friends with Claudette, she talked about her cousin who was at Hogwarts from last year"

Ethan smiled at the girl's words. "Oh, she did?" Not that it surprised him much, he was close with his cousins.. but it was nice that Clo had thought enough to mention him. "Well, yeah.. that's me. I'm Ethan," he added, if she didn't already know. But he was fairly certain she did. Especially since they had previously gone to school together and Clo had been talking about him.

But what was her name? Ethan was sure he knew it.. he was pretty good with names. But he had to think about it for a minute. It was a little bit different wasn't it.. ? "Christmas.. that's your name, right?" Well, he certainly hoped so, or he'd feel really dumb right about now.

Christmas smiled at Ethan and said "Yeah Christmas my name and yeah i thought that you looked a bit familiar Ethan, Claudette has talked about you a lot"

"All good things, right?" Ethan gave the girl a little wink and chuckled. His cousin definitely knew how to have fun, especially when he and her brother were involved, so Merlin only knew what she had to say about him.

And good, he was right about her name. "Doesn't she call you Noël, sometimes?" Ethan grinned a little thinking how clever Clo thought she was.. though he wasn't sure anyone else at the school thought the same.

Christmas smiled and said "Yeah it was all good things Ethan and yeah she does call me Noel at times"

Ethan nodded. Yes, things were coming back to him and he was glad he had the right girl in mind.. or else it might be a little embarrassing. "So, Christmas.. why did you leave Beauxbatons and come to Hogwarts?" Because if he had had the choice he wouldn't have come here.. though now that he was here, he didn't want to go back.

Christmas smiled and said "Well both my parents got new jobs in England and that meant i had to transfer school to Hogwarts and i was mad at my parents, i miss Beauxbatons and i miss my friends especially Claudette"

Ethan nodded again in understanding. "I guess that makes sense.. I was really mad at my parents too when I had to transfer." It seemed so long ago now.. He tried to give her a reassuring smile. "It took a while, but I got used to things here. I've made a lot of friends here, even though I miss my friends from there too." And having a really amazing girlfriend helped make him feel more at home here too. Then he thought of something that he thought was just ingenious. "Maybe I can talk Claudette into visiting sometime when we have a Hogsmeade weekend."

Christmas smiled and said "Yeah i am still getting used to Hogwarts and that would be amazing i would love to see Claudette again and catch up with her"

"I'm sure she would love to come for a visit," Ethan said with a smile. "I'll owl her as soon as I find out the next dates for Hogsmeade.." He nodded to her words. "Yes, it does take some getting used to.." He remembered how lost he was always getting when he first got here. He was glad to have Belle show him around a bit. "Well, if you need anything.. or just want someone to show you around, I'd be happy to help," he said. Any friend of Claudette's was alright with him.. besides, she seemed like a nice girl. And he could certainly sympathize..

Christmas smiled and said "Thanks Ethan i will keep that in mind and if you need any help on finding your cat i would more than willing to help you"

Fifth floor. Woo. Now. What was on this floor to put a poster by...? Anya tapped her chin thoughtfully as she walked. Fifth floor. Fifth floor.

And then it hit her. There was a statue by the entrance to a certain bathroom that she probably wasn't supposed to know about. Of course, it was hard not to know about it when you were dating a Prefect that preferred stopping by the fifth floor for some 'unknown' reason between classes.

She carefully balanced her poster against the statue. Then she flicked her wand at it and cast "Geminio". BAM! Now she had an extra poster.

She then tapped the extra poster up on the wall. Now, off to find two more spots.
