| | |  Astronomy Lesson 1 :: in the Planetarium
The first thing you notice as you enter the dimly lit planetarium is that the dome-shaped projection screen above you shows the night sky with the occasional comet slowly making its way from one side to the other. Try not to get too caught up in looking at the display, however, this is a lesson after all. Professor Flamsteed can be seen standing in front of the planetarium projector wearing a dark khaki colored suit and burgundy tie with a knowing smirk on his face as he waits for students to come filing in. To the right of him on the floor is a box of small pickling jars lined up in neat rows. So come on in, take a seat in one of the comfy chairs, and get yourself situated. The lesson will begin shortly.⌦Lesson Progression

Astronomy? Yessss West was excited for it and rocked on up READY. There'd only been one good lesson last term, and it wasn't enough to whet his appetite. Rockets were AWESOME but he wanted MORE.
So he chose a seat front and centre with the best POSSIBLE VIEW of the stuff happening on the projector and also of the professor.

Ella had used the lint roller outside the classroom with a curious smile on her face. What a...strange rule, yeah? Anywhoo....The blonde was EXCITED because astronomy meant stars! BEAM! And stars were lovely and pretty to look at and reminded her of...things. BLUSH.
Speaking of pretty to look at, Ella was pretty impressed with the setup. The projection screen was just...wow and the fifteen year old badger had trouble taking her eyes off of it. She had other things to focus on though, right? Like the Professor who she hadn't met properly yet. "Hello Professor, I'm Ella." The blonde greeted, giving the man a smile. "Brilliant suit." Cause really, the guy was quite a snappy dresser. Ella could appreciate style almost as much as she appreciated nice hair. Mhm!
Looking around, she spotted a seat in the middle of the room and plopped down, taking out her things and waiting for class to begin.

He turned from the professor and saw the pickling jars and thought nothing of them. They were pickling jars after all. It did look to be a relaxing class with the projector and the comfy chairs. He walked over to a chair and sat down. Now what where they going to do in class today.

Ah. Astronomy. One of her favorite subjects. She had a blast last year. That is...before the teacher was gobbled up by a plant. Tragic.
The planetarium looked utterly comfy. She was afraid she might accidentally fall asleep in the middle of the lesson. After all, she fell asleep under the stars for most of the summer.
Awar settled herself in one of the chairs, closing her eyes for a quick nap before the lesson started.

It was time for cat food man. He was REALLY well dressed. Did he know that? Oh merlin, was he one of those feminine guys who spent hours fixing his hair and adjusting his tie. She hoped not. Those guys were extremely tiring and also a majority of the Slytherin house. Seriously, Slytherin guys and their hair. The seventh year would NEVER understand their obsession with it.

Collecting herself somewhat, she walked into the planetarium. It looked pretty much the same as when, Merlin bless her soul, Burbage had worked here. Huh, Selina wondered if Astronomy would now be like the Defense Against the Dark Arts curse during Harry Potter's time at school. She hoped not. The guy was too nicely dressed to be eaten.
Waving at him, she said, "Morning Professor." Looking him up and down she was impressed AGAIN, "Nice suit."

ASTRONOMY.
The one class she'd been looking forward to, apart from Flying and Runes. She didn't actually care for anything but brooms, but Runes and Astronomy both had Professors getting eaten in them last term, so why not, yeah? She chose a nice seat in the front, centered, too, so she would have a nice view of the Professor in general. Y'know, just in case he was eaten. ALSO. His suit was very pretty. Mhm. And Alice had a very nice staring view from her seat. "Hey, Professor." Did he have a name? "I'm Alice. Awesome suit. Except it's got a stain, there.." she commented, pointing to a perfectly clean area of the man's snappy outfit.
So she sat there. Staring at the imaginary suit stain. Admiring it, even. Ignoring the projector. Life was good.

OOOOH Astronomy. Belle was very interested in coming to this class. She knew the teacher was amazing. Belle also had an interest in the stars and what they mean. She loved looking at the night sky. It cleared her head and escape from the world.
As Belle made her way to the planetarium, she noticed the professor. Belle smiled and said, "Hello Professor, how are you? By the way i am loving the suit!" After she said her hello, she starred at the sky and amazed by it all. She had a feeling this was going to be a good lesson.

Oichi headed up to the observatory feeling super awesome. Astronomy had always been one of her favorite classes. Learning about stuff of the great beyond was always fascinated. Oichi entered the Observatory and was completely amazed by the scenery. The projection of the night sky was crazy cool and she was floored as she saw the comet pass by in projection overhead. She looked back at the professor, "Professor Flamsted, this set up is amazing, I can't wait to see what you have planned for this class!!!". With that said Oichi took a seat as she took out her supplies and continued to enjoy the scenery as she waited for class to begin.

Anya happily entered the Planetarium. It was ASTRONOMY timeeeeee. Woo! She loved stars. And, more importantly, she loved Planetarium. And yes, that really was more important.
Even if the Professor was a little weird.
He seemed to have a thing against Gryffindors. What were the chances someone would let her borrow their badge...?
Meh. That sounded like a lot of work.
Instead she just adjusted her sweater trying to hide as much red as possible. There. She could totally... pretend to be a Slytherin or something. Yeah...
"Hello Professor." she said probably a little too brightly. ... now... what exactly did Snakes do? Like... strut...?
And... in a lame strut attempt, Anya found a seat... and immediately stared up at the ceiling. ... possibly with an open mouth. The girl loved stars.

They have something in common, might as well help him make good fashion choices. And she knew what colors blended well together. Most of the time.

Jake was actually looking forward to this class. A lot. He loved Astronomy, and he was excited to find out what this new teacher would be like. Honestly, he'd probably be happy with anyone, since the last one was eaten by a plant. Which... made Jake wonder if the new guy was worried the same thing might happen to him. Poor chap.
After lint rolling sufficiently outside of the classroom, Jake entered the room. He made sure his Prefect badge was nice and shiny and noticeable, just in case he got in any unforseen Gryffindor-like problems that the badge would cover for. Seeing Flamsteed in front of him, Jake waved. "Hello, Professor. I like the suit. Is it new?"
He glanced around the room, his eyes lighting up when he saw the roof, before his eyes fell on Anya. She looked... happy. Making his way over to her, he sat on the seat next to her and smiled. "Hey," he greeted before looking back up. "This is really cool..." He liked stars. He liked Astronomy. | |

Okay, can she just be the first to say...this guy was weird. Not weird in a bad way, but weird in a 'were you once a Hufflepuff' kind of way. In other words, Sierra wasn't too sure if the guy was going to annoy her or not. She'd just have to wait and see.
She was actually surprised to see him standing, too. The only other time she'd seen him, he'd been sprawled across the floor in Defense class. She gave him a grin and said, "Hello, Professor." With the necessities out of the way, Sierra headed further into the classroom and joined the others.

Melanie walked to class, trying to remember all the twists and turns of the school. Astronomy was hard. And confusing. And she just didn't get it but supposed she might try to take the OWL for the class... so she'd actually have to attend the class. She huffed and puffed all the way up to the tower and eyed the lint roller outside the classroom.
Did she really have to use it? She was pretty sure her robes were clean and all. Melanie picked it up anyways and tried to free herself of any lint that was there. She also tried to be extra careful. That was one of the rules since she didn't have a badge. After finishing she entered the classroom. Oh. Pretty. Melanie smiled as she looked around. Oh... pretty sky... She wanted the ceiling of her roof to look like that. She stood there for a little while longer, just staring at the ceiling before pulling herself out of it. She was here for a lesson! Not to stare.
"Hello Professor~" Melanie greeted him before taking a seat. Then she tilted her head back up... and stared at the ceiling.

This, this was one thing Kaiden hadn't missed about Hogwarts. Climbing so many flights of stairs wasn't fun, even for someone who was used to doing things like hiking. Making his way up to the planetarium, he eyed the lint roller. Yeah, his uniform was already clean and lint free. "Hello sir." the boy said greeting the professor before finding a seat and settling in.

The lint roller brush was a pain. Literally. As in, it was currently stuck in Mo's hair, and he had no earthly idea how it had happened. Perhaps he'd been lint rolling his head, but it had seemed a good idea and...

Mo headed into the classroom with the roller still attached to the top of his head and gave the professor a polite nod, nearly poking his own eye out as the handle of the brush crashed against his forehead. "Good day, Professor. Looking forward to your class."
He took a seat near West, giving his friend a wry look and hoping SOMEONE would remove the roller brush from his head for him. PLEASE? HELP SOMEONE HELP?

Mika made her way to the Astronomy tower. She grabbed that special lint-roller thingy and wanted it over her clothes until not a spec of anything was left behind. Now, she had to go and enter the room right?
She was pretty sure she had followed all of the rules - and with that had brought all the needed supplies with her. Glancing over to the Professor she realized he had been the one at the feast to eat the fancy feast...right.
Don't bring up fancyfeast should have been on his rules.
"Hello Professor Fah-" she quickly glanced at her timetable. "Flamsteed...sorry really horrid with names." And she'd almost called him Professor FancyFeast. Quick smile, flushed cheeks and a compliment on the suit would do her good right? "Love the suit Professor Fah-Flamsteed." Again with the near misses.

Astronomy.. Her favorite class. Her now favorite professor. Could the day be any better?
Nerida stopped as she reached the door. Did she really have to use the lint roller? Sighing she used the lint roller before entering. Professor Flamsteed may have been her favorite professor...But he was a weird one wasn't he! The blonde couldn't help but look up at the pretty projection screen..What ever it was called. She quickly took her eyes off...She was in a class... Other things to focus on!
Like the Professor and his amazing suit! "Hello! Snazzy suit Professor Flamsteed!" No need to say who she was, that had already been done. Though the Ravenclaw did greet him with a smile. She loved his various suits... She wondered if he had 365 suits for each day of the year...That would be cool....
Finding a seat in the somewhat middle area, Nerida plopped down into one of the comfy chairs.

Astronomy...one of the only classes taught at Hogwarts that could easily be taught at a muggle school all the same. Perhaps the only one if Ellura really thought about it. Regardless the third year was just as interested in seeing what developed as he rest of the classes.
So at the appropriate time, the girl entered the planetarium, clear of any lint as per the rules. Ellura still wasn't quite sure what was up with the comment on Gryffindors but she certainly hoped her house didn't mark her as a bad egg right of the bat for the man. "Good evening, Professor," she greeted with a polite nod as she moved further IMO the room, taking a seat in one of the empty chairs.

Well, OBVIOUSLY, he didn't use the lint roller. Because that kid ahead of him had it. But, really, he wouldn't have used it anyway. Partly because he didn't know what it was, and partly because he was a twelve-year-old boy and couldn't care less about the lint on his robes.
Not to mention, Aidan wasn't the most excited about coming to Astronomy. At all. Burbage was practically his favorite professor last term. And she was awesome! And she let them make bottle rockets! Which were AWESOME! But her being gone made Aidan sad. And surely, this guy with his lint rollers and his suits wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Not nearly.

"Next time keep it out of your hair. It's much too lovely for you to be growing bald." Much too lovely. ... yeah. She was a hair girl.
... and ... how did one's hair become dusty anyway?
She blinked several times at her arm. Why did he do that? ... And more importantly, did the professor see that?! Because! It totally counted as using the lint roller. Not that it mattered. Because she was pretending to be a Slytherin.
She grinned a little. "I accept chocolate." And compliments. But mostly chocolates. She then giggled a little at West. She'd let lint roller boy here handle the questions.
She then regained her seat. Eww... except her hands were sticky. Heh. She casually wiped them on Jake's shirt. All better. She then went back to watching the ceiling.
