Default The Storage Room

At the back of the library there is a large storage room where book shipments come in. The shelves and boxes are filled to the brim with both old and new books. Some boxes are even labeled with a red X over them which means that they hold potentially dangerous books which means they belong in the restricted section and seldom can't be borrowed from the library. Muggle lamps are used to light the storage room up and there is if you can find them some stools which can be used for sitting on and a desk.

Occ note: This thread is not open for general library RP. Its uses is for RP tasks assigned by the librarian, Mr Kitridge. Anyone found in here without permission will most likely suffer point loss or worse.

Gryffinclaw-Ravendor • The REAL Hermione Granger

Sarah eagerly went into the store room and she saw boxes. Her eyes lit up on the X marked boxes... mmm... Eagerly she went over to the first box she saw, just as the librarian had said there were two big boxes... the books looked older and a few looked brand new. The first book she took out was a book which title made her eyes pop out. Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches by Franklin Filibuster... YUCK! She did not want her fellow students seeing that book... It was definately not recommended... Soon girl will be hypnotised or tranced into falling in love with the wrong guy! That would not do.... yet Sarah had a job to do, so she read the last pages which were awfu and checked the back of it. Yes it did have a library card... yet Sarah did not want anyone to read it... so she placed in the boring catergory.

Then she remembered something, turning to Isaac she said.
"Umm.. Isaac... about the genres... There are two catergories as it is, textbooks nad non-texbooks..." She took out a piece of partchment, ink and quill from her bag and wrote down a list of proposed genres'

She showed it to him. "What do you see? Did I miss out something?" she looked at the two boxes that were before her. "we may need to add another genre depending on what is in the boxes.."

Default he couldn't resist xD

"Hey what was thet one?" he asked grabbing it from where she dropped it. OOOOoooo, his eyes widened as he saw the title and started flipping through it. "Does any of these actually work?" he wondered aloud curiously. He'd heard of the book but never actually looked through it! "Hmmm not all wandwork..." Interesting!

Looking up as she asked if she'd gotten all the genres, "Hmmm, maybe an area for novels both fiction and nonfiction. As well as muggle novels and wizardry novels. Mebbe biographies?" There would be more he was sure that probably fell into other categories. Pulling another box towards him he dropped down onto the floor next to it, and pulled out 'Flying for Beginners'. "Textbook obviously. Or mebbe...how te..." Flipping over to the back cover he dropped the other book into his lap to peruse later.

Sarah's eye brows shot up when he took out the book she had NOT put in the recommended pile. "A book that I DON'T recommend be read at Hogwarts".
Her fury nearly erupted when he had the audicity to read it. "I don't know I Do not suggest you try it..." she said icily.
Interesting? "INTERESTING! YOU CALL TREATING WOMEN AS OBJECTS INTERESTING"then she realized that she was losing it. 1,2,3,4 she counted in her head. "Sorry about that" she said meekly, "I just lost it" she said defeatedly.

tThe she turned back to the task at hand, he had added to the lisr. "Great," she then added to her list

"Now, what are we going to do when things fall into two catergories, like this"
she went into a box and pulled out Break with a Banshee by Gilderoy Lockhart. "this could be autobiographial or Defense against the dark arts... What should we do with it?" She asked.
"Why not recommend somethin'. It might get guys te think more about what a girl wants then what he thinks she should want." he said shrugging. His eyes grew as her voice got icy towards him. What was she like...a 2nd year or something? Maybe girls liked it more his age even if she didn't at... His eyes grew really round at that moment. Because then she started yelling. "I would never!" He had a girlfriend for Merlin's sake, and he'd never even think on considering Amelia as an object!

He was going to retort, when she apologized really meeklike. "I'm sorry te, I shouldn't haf picked it up." Not infront of her anyway! "I don' think of girls or women as objects. Me girl Amelia is more important te me then anyone, but I jus' want her te be happy, and thought mebbe the book might give me some tips." Yep perhaps a tip about how the heck you weren't apparently supposed to help them when they were injured, lest you hurt yourself more? Then if you did help them anyway got yelled at for it? Meh maybe someone should write a book on how women thought.

Snorting when she picked up the next book "Are ye seriously goin' te put thet on the shelf?" MERLIN, seriously Lockhart? "I'd definitely put it in fiction, if ye do." Yep HA, the guy was a quack and didn't know what he was doing, considering none of his stories had actually happened to him.

Ok, I think this assignment was going to take A LOT longer then he'd thought. "Numerology and Grammatica...textbooks..." he muttered putting it on the textbook pile.

"maybe I shall... I will look through one and let you know" (although she did like a book she got from the library -Saucy Tricks for Tricky Sorts).
Sarah felt bad for the boy now, "sorry, I am glad you do not see women as objects... perhaps you will find what you want in that book... read it if you want. Yet I do not want the wrong person to get their hands on it." "that was just a hypothetical example. Yet what are we to do when we come up something like that, a book that is in two genres?" She put the book aside and come upon 'Why I Didn't Die When the Augurey Cried' which looked rather interesting, she put it in the 'Magical Creatures' pile, doing the same with Hairy Snout, Human Heart.

He nearly snorted aloud as she said maybe she'd look through one and let him know. Keeping a straight face instead he nodded "I'd appreciate thet." Oh gosh he was going to get a kick out of that he had a feeling. He had a big feeling Sarah's ideas and what Amelia preferred would differ quite a bit, but it'd be interesting to find out anyway!

Ahhh, ok now he understood. "Yep I could see thet te be disasterous." Yep like what if Ed got his hands on it! Snort, but then again he had managed to win Nell over after Isaac had told him to go and kiss her before leaving. Pondering the book in his hand "Like this one. 'Where would ye find a basilisk and what te use the eggs fer in potions.'" Yup, ok now where the heck would it go? Creatures, Potions or even Defense Against the Dark Arts??? That's a handful of choices! There wasn't even half and half!

Sarah niave as she was (in her world people said what they meant) nodded, "will do... yet gilrs differ on their taste... Some girls are more girly then others... Some girls like thriller books, others romance. Some like comic book well others like mysteries. Although I prefer novels over short stories, some girls prefer short stories..."

Sarah was glad he agreed with her. Imagine if that Elijah guy got hold of that book... maybe it will say in their that girls do not like topless boys.. especially when not on the beach.

Sarah went over and read the books title "It is up to you... really, I personally have no clue... just go with the gut feeling"

Nodding he shrugged "Yep I kinda figured thet." Like Amelia didn't care for too much that was girlie, more preppy and nice dressed. But yet in some ways was very girlie. He loved both sides of her but sometimes it drove him bonkers! It's the reason he wanted that book to give him some ideas! Wait girl's tastes in books varied that much too? Merlin now he had to consider that too!

Gut feeling? Ok, Defense Against the Dark Arts. Because hey Basilisks are evil creatures right? He was about to set it in that pile then at the last second dropped it on the creatures pile. Ok more of a creature thing. Though it was evil. Tossing a few more books at random piles, he chewed on his lip thoughtfully flipping through another as a second was in his other hand. Looking back at the other boxes he sighed shaking his head, this was going to take awhile. Especially if he continued looking at the books he was pulling out!

Sarah noticed that he had put it in the dark arts pile. She then went back to another box and pulled out a brand new book, a glance at the cover told her that it was 'Plimpy Soup for the Wizarding soul'. In it was her story. Eek, to this day she still regretted submitting it. Now everyone knew that she used to have and still has insecurities. She was anyways shy about being published, although her mother said that she should no be. Yet Sarah had surprised herself at being humble about it. It is not everyday that a twelve year old is published "look at this book, it recently came out. Scabior wrote a story in it." She smirked. Scabior was such a pessimist in her opinion... and he did not like Kurumi which made Sarah further not like him. An enemy of Kurumi was an enemy of hers

Picking up a book that looked like it would fall apart just by him touching it, he wondered why that was in the box. Most of the books were in fairly good condition, except for a few. Squinting at the words just barely made out, he opened it gingerly and saw it was a potions book. Shaking his head he put it on the potions pile. Glancing her way as she said look at this book, he leaned over peering over her shoulder.

"Scabior?" he asked his eyes widening. He couldn't imagine what kind of story the professor had written! "Is it any good?" he asked laughing.

"Yeah Scabior... it is okay... and its so him... its called 'Bitter'! That title so suits him though. I think he is like a model Mr. Bitter. He even states something along the lines of being bitter in his story" Well only bitter people would hate Kurumi.. right? He is probably just jealous of her. And Mr Bitter seemed to be dating that achemy instructor... She wondered how that lady put up with Mr. Bitter... Maybe she was bitter too? "I liked the story about cookies best though" she said about the book. "This book is not a novel though... it is just a work of fiction though... I think I will put it in the fictional short stories category" and that was what she did. As she added the new category to the list and placed it on the new pile.

She then pulled out a muggle comic book on spider man. "Hey, this is what the Muggle Studies professor mentioned", she felt the dusty cover of 'Amazing Fantasy #15'. "This comic book is over a century old, lets make a category for it too. There are more muggle comic books in the pile anyways" She then added a category called 'Muggle Comic books' to the list and made a new pile. There were more spider man comic books as well. Theo would be so happy about that!

His eyes widened as she told him the title. Wow, what a title! Now he wanted to read it! The story sounded fascinating and made him wonder what in the guys life had made him write something like that. Though he could totally see it too. Nodding as she said it wasn't a novel. "Yeah definitely not. I agree short story fiction." he said nodding again. Opening another box he found on top an entire stack of old Witch Weekly magazines. Picking them up he set them on the pile for magazines. Bending over the side he peered down at the books underneath. There had to be a hundred or more! Pulling out a few he found some novels and a few textbooks again. "A Witches Looking Glass..." he muttered as he stuck those on the pile of fiction novels.

Looking up as she found a book again "Erm, ok." He'd stopped taking Muggle Studies last year, but had heard of the comic. "Wow, look at that!" he said looking at the aged pages. "He sure has a selection here, old and new books."

Sarah was glad that he had agreed with her and went down into the box more.
Sarah was quite interested in the muggle books. Especially books written on muggle, she then noticed a book that was over 100 years old. Muggles Who Notice by Blenheim Stalk She placed that in the muggle pile along with Home Life and Social Habits of British Muggles (by Wilhelm Wigworthy) and
The Philosophy of the Mundane: Why the Muggles Prefer Not to Know (by Professor Mordicus Egg) These books were old! Not that Sarah cared. In her opinion the quality of books was always decreasing.
She then noticed a book on a quidditch team. Flying with the Cannons. That went in the Sports and Games pile. "DO you know anyone who supports the Chudley Cannons?" she asked Isaac out of interest.
