This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me.
It was obvious that Ellie really had no idea what to do with herself when she ended up here.
She'd already been out flying.
But she was most excited to try out new Quidditch things and...well...she couldn't do that until she had a team. So she had to wait. And in the meantime...
Visit Hadley?
Sure, why not. She was one of the few Professors left that she actually liked, after all. So the redhead knocked a fun little tune on the office door. Different from that she used for Little Professor, but fun all the same. A Hadley tune especially for Hadley.
And then she waited.

Zhenya wanted to see Professor Hadley about something. She had thought about it all summer, and now she was going directly to her office to ask her. She knocked and waited for Professor Hadley to respond.

Josephina never expected a surge of visitors, especially in the start of the term. For starters, it wasn't like she was new anymore, nor did she teach a subject that was mandated by the Wizarding Board for the students to partake in. The ones who took her classes were ones who wanted to be there by choice, generally, not because they had to.
Which is why she was pleasantly surprised to hear a tune that was knocked on her door. Peculiar indeed.
She was about to call out to them to enter, when ....

An ordinary knock?
Was it the same person and they discovered it unprofessional to be knocking out tunes on someone's door?
Strange indeed.
"Come in," Fina called out, a hint of curiosity underlying her tone.

Minerva skipped to the door of her head of house. She hadn't made it this far yet, but wanted to see her. She fixed her blue hair and knocked. She always loved speaking with Professor Hadely and couldn't wait to see her again. She was thrilled to be back at school and her first day of classes proved to be great.

Zhenya peeked her head in before walking through herself. She smiled at Professor Hadley and said "How are you Professor? I hope your summer was nice and relaxing," after all, Professor's summers were what everyone was curious about.
"I was just having a think over the Summer and I'd really like to continue with Arithmancy, but I don't know if I'm very good at it, and I was wondering if you had any private time we could meet up after lessons to go through if I'm having difficulty, or if you have any other books."
That was, if she had time - if not, any books other than the required books. She wasn't sure if she could pick any book up, but the best person to go to for a recommended book for help would be Professor Hadley.

The seventh year eyed the younger girl who'd joined her at the door. That was okay, you know. She probably had a reason to be here. So, of course, Ellie allowed her to go in first and speak first and get general attention from Hadley first.
She simply gave Hadley a smile, mouthed 'hi' and went over to the corner Baisley occupied. The redhead sat beside the dog's head with her back against the wall and, after allowing him to sniff her hand and remember her, started scratching him behind the ears.
And no, she wasn't eavesdropping on the younger kid at all.

Before the occupant(s?) had a chance to enter after she welcomed them in, Fina heard another knock. Same person again?! After she told them to enter? Hopefully not, but who knows with these students?
"Come in," Fina urged again.

And then the door swung up finally to reveal a young Slytherin girl. Ah yes, she remembered this girl from last term.... Zhenya. Third year, if she recalled correctly, which meant the girl was a fourth year now.
"Hello dear. Well not as relaxing as it could have been, but it wasn't bad. I'm sure your summer was more relaxing, but as it should be," Fina smiled lightly.
Hearing her inquiries, Fina's hazel eyes automatically fell upon a large binder standing up at the corner of her desk. Pulling it out in front of her, she opened it and flipped to the end - the most recent information - as she looked for the girl's name. "Per last year, you actually did quite well in Arithamancy, considering your age and all, but you know, if you did need help...." She paused. "I am here for you. But for what it's worth, I think last year you managed quite well...."On her own.

Behind the younger girl, Fina took notice of a redhead slink past the Slytherin and head right to the corner to play with her puppy. Mouthing a return 'hello', paired with a confused smile, she redirected her attention back at Zhenya. Since it seemed Ellie didn't want to just talk yet. Not that Fina minded, as she wasn't rushed either.
But she was definitely confused about Ellie's motives for her visit today. Was Seventh Year too easy and thus she found herself with some spare time so she wanted to play with a dog? Strange indeed.....

Minerva walked through the door with a big smile on her face. She smoothed out her blue hair wanting to look presentable in front of her head of house mom. She noticed some other students and smiled at them. "Hello, professor. I am hoping you had a nice summer. I was just stopping for a quick visit before my class."
Minerva then took a good look at the other two students and realized they were from two different houses. Did she come into something she shouldn't have or were they just visiting as well. "Is this a bad time, I could stop by later."
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey had walked from the Common Room up to the Second floor closely followed by the new firstie, Bear. When they reached the Office door Oakey rapped on the door twice to let Hadley know she had visitors waiting to see her, if she was in the office at all, that is.
He sat down on one of the chairs and looked to see if Bear was still with him and hadn't gotten lost, as the boy said he was afraid of getting lost. Which was understandable since Hogwarts is large and will change on you in a moments notice. He wasn't sure why Bear wanted Oakey to go with him though, weren't Lewis or Evelyn more suited for this, being his houses Prefects and all? He shrugged his shoulders at the thought. This is Professor Hadley's Office. Oakey explained to the firstie, she's our Head of House and really reliable.
He did want to see Hadley about a problem of his own too. It had been a few days now and Oakey's charmed lucky rabbit's foot was still missing. He was hoping Hadley could give him some good advice as to why the accio charm wasn't working, or where it could be even.
Bear followed Oakey into the room. He was keeping his head down all the time try to avoid looking at people face to face. As they both waited for respond he said: "Thanks" in his thick russian accent.
"Do you think she is in χer room?" Bear asks after he didn't get an answer for five minutes.

Tucking fallen hairs behind her ear, Josephina smiled at the sight of one of favorite young Hufflepuffs. A quick visit? How thoughtful. "It was alright, Miss Wheatborn. Too quick, as always." Blue hair? What was up with that?
"No, not a bad time, I don't think," she said, glancing to Zhenya and Ellie, before back to Minerva. It didn't seem like they needed privacy anyway. Except maybe Ellie. She probably just didn't want anyone to know she was considering a field in Arithmancy..... Cause how embarrassing would THAT be for the Ravenclaw Captain? "How was your summer? Besides the new hair color? Prank?" She asked casually.

Another knock, but this time the visitor(s) didn't wait until she called them in. Nope; Oakey Gunter just BARGED into her office and plopped down in one of the seats like he owned the place. Something she might have expected from the redhead playing with her dog, but NOT something she expected from Oakey.
But oh. He had he a new Hufflepuff in tow with him, so she supposed she could forgive him this time.
"Please Mister Gunter, next time you ought to wait before you just come in here and take a seat." Oh, did he just call her reliable? Well that was sweet of him. She was just ... honest, though.
"I'm right here," she said, frowning to the young boy, saying she wasn't in her office. Was he as blind as Oakey was in not seeing that there were others in the office? Seriously. "Like Mister Gunter so kindly stated, I'm Professor Hadley, your Head of House. And you are....?" She wasn't about to be RUDE to Oakey just because he was rude to her. Especially not in front of a new student.

Minerva gave the Professor a smile glad she wasn't interrupting. "I'm glad you had a nice summer. My went very well. I got to hang travel a little bit with some friends, so that was exciting." That was nice of her to ask about Min's summer. "I tried to get some practice in for gobstones this term as well as I got a new broom, so hopefully I can make the team again this year." This year there should be no reason to leave in the middle of term, so she would be at every practice and matches. "I'm excited for classes."
She laughed a bit when Professor Hadley noticed her hair and then questioned it as a prank. "Prank.. Oh no it wasn't a prank. I just really enjoy the spell that changes the color that we learned first term and tend to change it all the time. I plan to have it changed before tryouts, I wouldn't want people to think I have claw colored hair. That's why it was rainbow at the end of term feast." She couldn't help but laugh wondering what she really thought about her hair.

Reason: fixing code =)
The boy stood still in the door frame, try to look as unnoticeable as possible. "I am Bear." he wispered in a thick russian accent. "I wanted to ask you some questions." He might have very interesting toetips, becouse his eyes were fixed on them the whole time he spoke, exapt for some millisecond long glimpses into the room and to the people.

Oakey blinked and stared at Professor Hadley for a moment. Oh...I thought I heard you say "come in." He also looked down on his feet for a quick moment then back at the door. I'll be right back Professor.
Oakey stepped out of the office and closed the door behind him. He lifted his hand and knocked three times once more. May I come in Professor? He asked.

And back to Minerva. "Gobstones practice, eh? And a new broom? Well aren't you the lucky Hufflepuff?" Fina mused. But the traveling part is what caught her interest far more than Quidditch or anything else of the sort. Because traveling was and is a favorite pasttime of hers. Always. "Where'd you travel to?" Fina asked, genuinely interested.
They learned a spell to change the color of their hair? Was that Althea or Isabelle who taught them that? "Oh. Well it's a nice little touch to be able to temporarily modify your appearance to create some house pride. But just for the record, claw colored hair isn't a bad thing." Cause if claws were bad, then she'd dislike her family and she didn't. Now if she started with the green hair .....
"I'm excited for Arithmancy lessons this term." And that was all she was going to say about that.

Bear? Tilting her head at the young, foreign first year, she studying him carefully. "Nice to meet you, Bear," Fina spoke kindly, noting that he didn't meet her gaze at all. Shy, perhaps, but that was to be expected if he was as he appeared: a student from abroad. He'd loosen up soon enough; especially as a Hufflepuff. "Sure. You're welcome to ask me anything." Anything, with reservations, of course. But well almost anything .....

Might as well have a do-over right?
Turning to see what Oakey had to say for himself about intruding, she smiled in amusement. Perhaps her visitors had come so close together that they thought the 'come in' was for them? Wait..... be right back?
Oh. He wanted to try it again.
She had to give him credit, for at least not wanting to give off a poor impression.
"Yes, you may," she said, trying hard to keep the amusement out her tone as she heard his question after the knocks.

"I'm excited for Arithmancy lessons this term." And that was all she was going to say about that.
Minerva smiled hoping that she would do good this term with gobstones and hopefully make the team since last year she had went MIA in the middle term, but that wasn't her fault completely now was it. She smiled at the question about traveling. "Well I got to take a trip to New York City with four of my friends. It was great, I am originally from the states, but had never been to New York. It was so much fun to see everything and go shopping. We got to see a broadway play as well." She wasn't sure if Professor Hadley would know what that was, but maybe she did. Minerva forgot sometimes what wizards/witches knew and what they didn't when it came to muggle things. "Then with the same four friends I got to go to Norris, Tennessee and go camping. That was interesting. I had been in Tennessee before since my grandparents lived about an hour from Norris, but I had never been camping." She wondered if she was talking to much, but shrugged it off. "Do you like to travel Professor?"
Minerva chuckled a bit, "Well I think all my friends know that I love my transfiguration spell a little to much. Many of my friends have me do their hair as well. I did Laura's at the beginning of term feast in puff colors." She smiled proudly at that, she left out the part she didn't ask first before she did it. She was glad that Laura liked it and didn't care she had done it. She shook her head "Oh I wasn't saying there was anything bad about Ravenclaw, two of my best friends are Claws." She didn't mean that to come out as anything bad.
Minerva smiled, but she couldn't get to excited about Arithmancy lessons. It wasn't that she didn't like Arithmancy, she liked the class and of course loved the teacher, but the numbers confused her. If she could take out the formulas then the class would be great. "Well I am planning on being there again this term, and working harder to try and do better in the class. I know it's not one of my best subjects, but I do think Runes is my worst, so at least it's not my worst." She wanted to add that so Professor Hadley wouldn't get offended.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey opened the door once more and stepped into the office. Hello Professor Hadley Oakey spoke as if he had not rudely entered her office moments ago. Was your summer exciting?
He motioned to a chair in the office seeking permission to sit down. He was unsure how ling he might stay. I may or may not depending on how Hadley helps need help finding something of mine. He looked at his Arithmancy Professor to see if she was following him. It involves my bad luck. again I lost my charmed rabbits foot and i can't find it. Oakey looked down at the floor. This magical item ment everything to him, it was what kept his problem in check. I went around the grounds trying the summoning charm, but it never came. He recalled what Mordy told him about losing a good luck charm being a sign of bad luck and should give up on it. That wasn't something he could do, this rabbits foot was a gift from Harvey.

Alyssa was worried. She had been summoned by her Head of House, Professor Hadley. She had never been summoned by anybody before, except for the exception of being summoned to serve detention last term.
Alyssa softly knocked on the door of Professor Hadley's office and waited for her to answer.
As was his custom, Dale was rather nervous about being in such a new place. He hesitated at the door and peered in for a mere second to see if anyone was inside. That being established, Dale knocked on said door and panicked slightly when it moved ever so slightly at the pressure. He carefully readjusted it and stood back to wait, biting at his fingernails as was his terrible habit.
This was, apparently, the important person to see. Yes. So it was. Other than that, Dale was clueless as to who he would find inside.

Josephina nodded as Minerva told of her summer adventures. And may have blinked a few times in surprise as she mentioned traveling ABROAD. With friends. But by Merlin, the girl was only FOURTEEN. "You.... just went with just friends? Or like, you did have an adult with you guys, right?" Fina asked nervously. Yes, she was worried. But why wouldn't she be? She liked Minerva. And had anything happened to her Or her friends while they were overseas, she probably never would have forgiven their parents. But anyway, now the question turned to her; "Yes, yes. I love traveling. You know, before I got into the whole teaching thing, I actually spent about four years traveling around the world... doing research and studies. And this past summer, I was in the States as well. But in Florida, for about two weeks, at a convention." And soaking up some sun too, of course. It wasn't ALL learning, but some fun too was had of course.
Ah... so she was a fan of Isabelle's classes? Fina smiled at the mention of her love of the Transfiguration spell. "Well, perhaps you might just have found a calling for yourself...." Magical makeup artist or hairdresser, no? "Ah of course." She nodded about two of her best friends being claws.
"I know not everyone excels at Arithmancy," Fina said, nodding at the third year. "For some people, it's just a rather difficult subject to understand and that's okay. Honestly. It's not everyone's cup of tea. But I do appreciate you wanting to make an effort in the subject." Even if she maybe just did it for her, it was appreciated nonetheless.

Josephina fought hard to keep the amusement off her face at Oakey's sudden change. "Hello, my summer? It was actually fairly exciting..." She glanced toward Minerva a moment and then back at Oakey. "Spent about two weeks overseas, in a place called Florida... soaking up some sun, meeting some fellow Arithmancy fanatics, and learning a lot!"
She nodded, given him the okay to have a seat, as she listened to his dilemma. Lost charmed rabbit's foot. Tried summoning charm. Hmm. "I see.... well, let me start by asking you this..." she paused, reaching for her quill to take some notes about the missing charm. "When was the last time you remember having the rabbit's foot?"

KNOCK!! KNOCK!!
Documenting a few notes, Josephina glanced up at the sound of soft raps on her door. Yes she was expecting someone, but she didn't expect the someone to turn up .... so .... fast?
Staring curiously at the door, she waited a moment before finally calling out to the person on the other side .... "Come in please," she said kindly.
Having just finished her meeting with Alyssa, Josephina was just about ready to settle back into her work on her lesson plans when she head a knock and saw the door push open slightly. Staring curiously through the jarred door, she frowned because she couldn't see much of anybody.
How long had they been waiting there? Did they know she was visiting with Alyssa and wait for the fourth year to leave before knocking?
Still confused, she finally called out to the visitor, "You may enter!" And waited to figure out who the surprise guest was.

Alyssa left Professor Hadley's office with a heavy heart, but she knew that the Professor was right. Her grades were falling and something had to be sacrificed. For now that had to be Quidditch. Alyssa was afraid to tell her team mates that she would be taking a break from the game to concentrate on her studies, but she knew that the team would still play well without her in it...at least for awhile. Alyssa quickly closed the door behind her and slowly made her way back to the Common Room.

Okay. Here goes. This was it. Dale allowed himself a moment of apprehension before he went ahead and entered.
Well... kind of entered.
Taking advantage of the door that was ajar, Dale first poked his head inside. His dark mop of hair and dark eyes were so unlike that of the rest of his father's side of the family, including a certain older brother, and probably served as a hint as to the rest of the differences. Vaguely, Dale wondered if this Professor knew of him or the kind-of-Upstead that came before him.
"Um... Professor, uh... Hadley, right?"
Because, like, if it wasn't Hadley then he'd waited out there for no reason. So like... yeah.
As he let his gaze travel around the room, Dale let the rest of his body sliiiiiiiiiide in through the door.

You went to the states this summer?! Did you visit Disney World?! Is it actually magical, or just a muggle thing?!?!?! Oakey said surprised and realized just how many questions he threw out at Professor Hadley. He too would have gone there if his former adoptive parents hadn't suddenly barged in on his life.
I had it on the Train ride up, and realized it was missing that night after the feast. He said watching her reach for a quill.
" I am.. i want.." than the dam broke open: "I am so confused. All the stuff, all the magic, everything is new, huge and planty but in the same time it is so tiny. What i.. . There is so many new things and i don't know if i do what i do wrong or right." he start to cry. "я даже не волшебная палочка" He sinks into his chair and sobs.
