The prefects have their own compartment. They hold a meeting every year and you can find help here if you need it. Prefects' only, please, unless you have been invited or need assistance!

Having put all her things but her small backpack in the luggage compartment, Kurumi made her way to the prefect compartment with Walnut held in her arms. She would have let him waddle along by her feet, but she didn't trust the feline to just walk and NOT pee on something or someone. A few first years had already managed to step on his tail and his ears seemed to be permanently glued to the top of his head right now.

Translation? Walnut was displeased and when he was displeased the world needed to watch out.

Opening the door, Kurumi slipped inside and found that it was still empty and she took a seat by the window. Walnut jumped out of her arms and promptly sat down RIGHT next to her. THIS would be his seat and NO ONE was going to take it unless they wanted their shoes peed on. Kurumi rolled her eyes at the cat, but didn't say anything. She was just glad for a moment of peace and she idly reached down and scratched Walnut behind the ears to hopefully make them perk back up.

So this was it. The beginning of a new term and everything was about to change.

Selena had put Clarke away in a cage and put him with her luggage. It was also a good thing the crup had decided a nap was good about now. Selena wound the green leash around her wrist before stuffing it into her bag, humming all the while. She had a shiny new badge~ Badges were cool. Selena was cool, prefects were cool. The bouncy Slytherin, who had already decided that breakfast was chocolate, stopped in front of the prefect's compartment and smoothed out her hair, patted the pygmy puff on top of her head then slid the door open.

"HEEELLOOOOO EVER-," Selena started brightly before she only saw one person there.

Oh. "HAI Cookie Prefect!" Selena chirped plopping herself down on a seat and setting her bag down next to her. Selena wanted chocolate. Chocolate tasted good. The seventh year opened her bag and pulled out a chocolate frog. She glanced at the feline there on the seat though. What was the cat doing here?! Was the cat going to EAT Kent? Selena placed the pygmy puff on her lap, just so she'd know the ball of fluff was always there.

Wow. Wowowowwwwww. The prefects' compartment.

Never in his whole life had Paulie Foster expected to be HERE.

But now he was, so he stopped short of the door and composed himself before bursting through the door in a very Kramer-esque manner. And there were........ only two before him? My, my. His promptness was improving.

"Hey, Kurumi!" Kurumi had been one of the first people he had ever met at Hogwarts. It was at the feast and she was handing out cookies and she was also being bombarded with people talking to her. His eyes lowered to her pet and he tilted his head. "Cute cat." Although he preferred dogs.

Then he looked over at the other girl there who was whipping out a chocolate frog. "Hello," he greeted, because he didn't know this one's name. But he did know that her pygmy puff better watch its back; weren't cats attracted to furry, round oddities?

Evelyn made her way down to the Prefect's compartment, feeling slightly nervous. She didn't who the other prefects were, but she just wished that at least one of them was someone she knew. Otherwise..things were going to get awkward for her.

The Prefect took a deep breath, entered the compartment and stopped.

OH. There were only three other people in the compartment. Right. And, she knew all three of them..sort of. She smiled at Selena, the ~~weird~~ the girl she'd at the Lake last year and there was..wait. Was it that guy who called her 'the other woman'? She stopped herself from glaring at him and managed to give him a small smile as well before she walked over to the seat by the window and promptly sat down.

She looked at Kurumi, who was seated opposite her and grinned. "Hey Kurumi. I didn't know you're a prefect as well." That was kind of a silly thing to say but..meh. She rested her head against the back of seat and stared out the window. Gosh, this was going to be the last time she boarded this train. Sigh.

Kurumi watched as Walnut flopped on to his back, legs sticking up in the air demanding that his belly be scratched to which Kurumi obliged to without any fuss. Walnut could be difficult at times, but he meant well and was always just trying to protect Kurumi. Sometimes she swore that the cat and her father had had a conversation about this and that was why the feline was so eager to pee on someone when they upset her in anyway, no matter how small.

Then again, he was probably just being a cat.

Rubbing his tummy, Kurumi looked up when she heard footsteps approaching the compartment...

"Selena, hey," Kurumi said with a small wave with the hand that wasn't currently attending to Walnut's needs. The new badge on the Slytherin's robes did not go unnoticed by the Gryffindor. "OH! Congratulations!" Called it, but that didn't mean that the chocolaholic alien didn't deserve the congratulations any less.

And then Kurumi noticed the chocolate frog and she instinctively scooted just a little closer to the window while Walnut continued to purr. "And hello to you too, Kent." Her eyes fell on Walnut not. He BEST behave and not try anything stupid...like eating the pygmy puff as he had tried to do with Momotaro and Momotaro II

"PAULIE! YOU'RE HEAD BOY?! Congratulations!" she chirped wanting to jump out of her seat but feeling Walnut's paws wrapping around the hand that was scratching his tummy. Nope, she wasn't going anywhere. Paulie had come a long way, making Head Boy and all, and she could still remember their first meeting at the opening feast several terms ago when he had just transferred.

Walnut purred loudly when he heard him being brought up in conversation, although the feline preferred to be called handsome rather than cute. Technicality though.

"Oh, thanks, this is Walnut," she said, introducing Paulie to the feline who was still rolling around on the seat enjoying his belly scratched. She could warn him about his peeing habit later...if it ever came up. Hopefully the cat wouldn't be annoyed by anything this term.

Then again, Ellie wasn't here yet.

Evelyn eyed Kurumi's cat with the smallest hint of dislike. She never was a fan of cats and that one looked particularly creepy. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, hoping it wouldn't jump on her something. She looked out the window again, her eyes shifting towards the cat every one and then.

Evelyn turned towards Kurumi when she spoke. Third term as Prefect? Right How on earth didn't she know that she Kurumi the Prefect last term? She flushed as well, feeling extremely embarrassed. She looked out the window again, trying to come with something that didn't sound lame..and failed.

"You can call me Eve." Evelyn muttered, still not looking at Kurumi. Bleh. The train hadn't even started and she already made things awkward. Great. Just great.

The Prefects' Compartment.

Lewis really wasn't sure he wanted to sit there. Then everybody would know that he was Prefect and they would talk to him and stuff. Oh and he was pretty sure he wasn't early enough to be the first there so they would all look at him when he entered the compartment. Couldn't he just sit in an empty compartment like everybody else? Please? Even though he WAS a little curious who his Co-Prefect would be. Since Anya was gone too and all.

So after a few moments of awkwardly shuffling his feet outside the compartment door, Lewis did finally push it open with a deep breath. Vanilla at his feet - she had chosen to WALK which was very unlike her - he took a small step into the compartment, trying hard not to blush too much but instead focussing on the other people already there. "H-hi!" The Slytherin Prefect whose name he didn't know...the guy he'd met a year ago in Diagon Alley...Kurumi (!)...and Evelyn. Oh was she going to be his Co-Prefect? That was a nice surprise.

He directed a smile at the older Hufflepuff before glancing around the compartment again, wondering where to sit. His eyes lingered on Kurumi for a moment longer than on the others and then flickered to the seat next to her which Walnut had occupied. He really didn't want to impose on anybody and he didn't really know any of the others, so....oh, to be honest he just wanted to sit next to Kurumi for a couple of reasons but now that that seat wasn't available he didn't quite know what to do. And he could feel his cheeks flushing with color already. Maybe he really SHOULD have just sat in an empty compartment.

Vanilla had in the meantime made her way over to the Slytherin Prefect and was now trying to get onto the seat next to her. So she could get a better look at what was on the Head Girl's lap. Which was a Pygmy Puff! She liked Pygmy Puffs. Not as food or anything but just...they were fluffy. The loud purring eminating from the feline was a pretty good indication that she really did intend no harm on the little hairball. She just wanted to SEE it. And maybe nudge it with her paw. But to be able to do any of that she still had to get up onto the seat. Which wasn't too easy...

Kurumi was oblivious to Evelyn's eyeing of Walnut, but if she had she would have warned her that the cat did not appreciate getting looks. In fact, the last person who had done so ended up with soggy shoes for a week.

Not pretty.

Kurumi's cheeks were still beat red when Evelyn spoke again, but they lightened a bit when she heard what the Hufflepuff had to say. "O-O-Okay, Eve," she replied, testing out the nickname. It actually made things a little less awkward for Kurumi to use Eve since every time she said Evelyn she was reminded of a certain Slytherin.

Kurumi would offer up her own nickname...but she really didn't do that, contrary to what some first years thought at least.

Kurumi's rosy cheeks were back and then some when Lewis entered the compartment and she felt her heartbeat increase instantly and she inhaled sharply. "Lewis!" Kurumi chirped, a smile tugging on her lips as she greeted him. She wasn't surprised at all to see him here and had know since the middle of the summer that he was a prefect as well. The two had written almost every day over the summer and despite her already congratulating him in writing ~~and cookies~~ several times, she couldn't contain another verbal one. "Congratulations again on making prefect."

Walnut, sensing the change in his Mistress, roooooooooooolled onto his side to see just who it was that had entered and began to purr. If cats could smirk, which they could if you knew what you were looking for, Walnut certainly doing so as he raised his royal self from the seat and flopped onto Kurumi's lap, leaving the place he had just been wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open.

His tail swished back and forth when he saw HER on the ground and...WHAT?! Now the ~~fat~~ cat was ignoring him? Pfft. Fine. He could play that game too.

Surprised that Walnut was now on her lap, and with his back facing the compartment, Kurumi looked at the cat and tried not to roll her eyes. "Just what are you looking so pleased with yourself about?" she asked as she returned to scratching him behind the ears. Her eyes went back to Lewis now who looked just as awkward as she had been when she had first entered the prefect compartment as a fourth year. Containing a giggle for the time being, Kurumi gestured to the now vacant space next to her. "Do you...want to sit down?" Please?

Selena chomped down on the chocolate frog's head, petting the tiny head of the pygmy puff on her lap. She looked at the guy there a bit blankly before she realized something very red and very shiny on him. Head boy? Was that what it said? Selena just stared at it before looking at the guy then at the badge then at the pygmy puff. "Yes, Kent, he's new here," Selena whispered to her pygmy puff. Like she had been last year.

"HAI!" Selena said, waving at the guy, and looking at the chocolate frog card. Eh. Nothing interesting. She already had a Dumbledore. "I'm Selena! This is Kent! Clarke is sleeping," Selena said, using her newly acquired chocolate frog card to point at herself and the pygmy puff.

SPOILER!!: Evelyn

Selena watched as the door opened and another tall person came it. OH. SELENA KNEW THIS TALL PERSON. "Haaaaiii Evelyn!!!" Selena exclaimed with a big smile on her face. See, she totally knew this girl. Hehe.

SPOILER!!: Kurumi

Selena waved hello at the Gryffindor then eyed the cat. Yes cat? Stay awaaaay from the pygmy puff. "Thank you! Thank you!!!" Selena beamed. Because she was closer to taking over the universe, yes. Selena took out another chocolate frog, ready to unwrap and eat it as she continued to eye the darn cat. Evil cats... Selena looked at Kent then at the Gryffindor. "Kent says hi!" Selena decided. That had been what that little shudder meant, right? Selena was pretty sure it wasn't out of fear of the feline; King of all Pygmy Puffs didn't get scared.

"Congratulations on being Prefect again! How was your summer?" Selena added, in the same bright tone as she had been using since she got here. Because what wasn't there to be happy about?

Selena looked at the next person who had slid open the door then stared at him. He didn't look too happy. Why was that? People needed to wear the color happy more often. That and the kid wasn't a Slytherin. Where were her fellow Snakes?! Snakes were cool. "Aren't you going to sit, Mister Huffie?" She asked. Because Selena would sit; standing wasn't much fun even if it meant you looked taller. It didn't really work out for-

CAT.

Why was there a cat there? "Someone's HAIRBALL wants to eat Kent!!!" Selena exclaimed loudly, picking up the violet pygmy puff and placing him back on her head. Nope, no food for YOU, cat. "Hey cat, you're not allowed to play with my pygmy puff, he's cool," Selena said, sticking her tongue out at it. She'd eat her chocolate frog after someone dealt with the cat.

The train. When did that happen? The entire day from platform up until this point Selina had been trying to figure out where summer had gone so swiftly. It was as if she had blinked and summer was over, but so much had happened that reminded her that summer had truly taken place.

So now she was a fifth year, the fifth year Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. The title and the shiny badge that was adorned on her clothes meant that she was expected to make a visit by the Prefect Compartment. Even after being a student leader the year before, Selina always felt a little awkward being in the Prefect Compartment with all of the super special students like the Head Boy and Girl. It was not that she had a problem talking to them all one-on -one, her best friend was the Gryffindor Prefect, but when they all were jammed into one compartment the whole thing seemed more official than it would be in another setting.

Regardless of her personal feelings, she took a deep breath and stepped inside the compartment. When she looked around it looked as if nothing had changed in the small compartment. The seating was the same, the windows were in the same place, the decor was still the same... the familiarity made it less intimidating. Then, when her eyes left the focus of the actual setting of the room, she started to scan the room for faces. She smiled when she saw Kurumi and Paulie, her own house officials, "Hey Kurumi, hey Paulie... by the way, congrats on Head Boy!" Oh yeah, Gryffindor Head Boy!

Then she saw the Selena who always thought Selina was an alien, but when she got a better look she saw the new Head Girl badge. With a nod she said, "Congrats on Head Girl, Selina." Just as she said that another prefect walked into the compartment. It was a Hufflepuff prefect who Selina did not know at all, but she still waved and said, "Hello there!"

With all of her introductions and hellos out of the way, she started to make her way over to her best friend when she noticed one more person in the compartment. The sight of the person literally made Selina stop in her tracks. It was the OTHER Hufflepuff prefect. She blinked twice in shock before looking at Kurumi and then back at him, "Erm... hello Lewis."

Text Cut: Selenaaaaa

Lewis felt somebody's eyes on him and turned his head a little to find the Head Girl staring at him. She wanted him to sit down? Well, HE did too but...he just didn't know where. And everybody had seated themselves in a way that he would have to sit next to someone. And to be honest, he just wanted that someone to be someone he knew and trusted. Even though they - he still couldn't quite believe that HE was part of them by the way - were Prefects and hence could very likely be trusted not do to anything to him. Still.

Mister Huffie? "I-it's Lewis." He offered, biting his lip nervously, not really answering her question about sitting down. Not that she had asked for his name. But then she was screaming all of a sudden and Lewis turned around fully to see what was going on - you know, because now that he was Prefect, running away was not an option anymore. Sadly.

His eyes flickered back and forth between Vanilla - still attempting to get on the seat - and the Head Girl's head where her Pygmy Puff had been placed. "V-Vanilla likes Pygmy Puffs." Lewis felt the need to correct her, seeing as she'd called the cat 'hairball' while she totally had a name and all. And he didn't even realize that what he'd just said might have just confirmed the Head Girl's suspicions that the feline was trying to eat the Pygmy Puff. Which she wasn't.

Text Cut: Kurumiiii (and Walnut)

His attention and eyes back on the Gryffindor Prefect, Lewis blushed without realizing it when she said his name. "Hello Kurumi." At least this time their encounter didn't involve hugs or a lot of physical contact in general. Not that he minded - like AT ALL - but it usually led to some sort of awkward situation. And now really wasn't the time for more awkwardness. He felt awkward enough already just being here.

When she congratulated him again, he blushed some more and averted his gaze to the seat next to her without really paying attention to what he was looking at. "Thank you." He replied softly before going back to chewing on his lip. What had Professor Hadley been thinking? He wouldn't really consider himself good Prefect material. But then again their Head of House seemed to disagree with him and now he got to wear this badge. Which still made him nervous every time he looked at it.

Movement caught his attention and this time he actually focused on what he was looking at. Which was Walnut. Who was...moving off the seat and onto Kurumi's lap. His gaze followed the cat's movements, a look of disbelief plastered across his face. Huh. Did that mean he could sit down after all? He should or else the Head Girl would probably manhandle him into a seat...or well, TRY to anyway. She was pretty short.

When Kurumi encouraged him further to sit down, Lewis moved to quickly take the recently vacated seat, offering a smile to both Kurumi and the cat on her lap. "Thanks." That was for Walnut. Since he'd been nice enough to move and all. And yes he was talking to a cat. Vanilla had in the meantime given up and had moved to lie on her back at his feet, without glancing at Walnut, not even once. Okay, maybe once but that was it.

Lewis looked back up from getting comfortable in his seat when he heard his name being said once more. The voice sounded vaguely familiar and sure enough it was somebody he knew. Or had met anyway. "H-hi Selina." Somehow the girl still...scared him a little. Not in the way that he wanted to run out of the compartment or something ~~we're still waiting for Sierra for that to happen~~ but still.

The look of shock on her face made him bite down on his lip even harder as he didn't quite dare to avert his gaze away from her face. Was something...wrong? Was he in her spot?

Evelyn was still eyeing the cat nervously. Gosh. It had really creepy looking eyes and she kind of felt like it was going to pounce any moment. Would it be a good idea to tell Kurumi to keep the cat away from her? No. Not a good idea. That would be rude and it might make things awkward again. Sigh.

Evelyn smiled when Kurumi agreed to call her Eve. Good. Hopefully, things wouldn't be all awkward from now on. Hopefully. Her eyes shifted towards the cat again.

The Prefects' Compartment.

Lewis really wasn't sure he wanted to sit there. Then everybody would know that he was Prefect and they would talk to him and stuff. Oh and he was pretty sure he wasn't early enough to be the first there so they would all look at him when he entered the compartment. Couldn't he just sit in an empty compartment like everybody else? Please? Even though he WAS a little curious who his Co-Prefect would be. Since Anya was gone too and all.

So after a few moments of awkwardly shuffling his feet outside the compartment door, Lewis did finally push it open with a deep breath. Vanilla at his feet - she had chosen to WALK which was very unlike her - he took a small step into the compartment, trying hard not to blush too much but instead focussing on the other people already there. "H-hi!" The Slytherin Prefect whose name he didn't know...the guy he'd met a year ago in Diagon Alley...Kurumi (!)...and Evelyn. Oh was she going to be his Co-Prefect? That was a nice surprise.

He directed a smile at the older Hufflepuff before glancing around the compartment again, wondering where to sit. His eyes lingered on Kurumi for a moment longer than on the others and then flickered to the seat next to her which Walnut had occupied. He really didn't want to impose on anybody and he didn't really know any of the others, so....oh, to be honest he just wanted to sit next to Kurumi for a couple of reasons but now that that seat wasn't available he didn't quite know what to do. And he could feel his cheeks flushing with color already. Maybe he really SHOULD have just sat in an empty compartment.

Vanilla had in the meantime made her way over to the Slytherin Prefect and was now trying to get onto the seat next to her. So she could get a better look at what was on the Head Girl's lap. Which was a Pygmy Puff! She liked Pygmy Puffs. Not as food or anything but just...they were fluffy. The loud purring eminating from the feline was a pretty good indication that she really did intend no harm on the little hairball. She just wanted to SEE it. And maybe nudge it with her paw. But to be able to do any of that she still had to get up onto the seat. Which wasn't too easy...

Evelyn looked up when another guy entered the compartment. Erm. He seemed faintly familiar..OH. He was the guy she'd met at the Muggle Studies class. Lewis, right? Her doubt was cleared when Kurumi called out his name. She smiled. "Hello." Wait..

ANOTHER cat!? Are you kidding me!? Evelyn stared as the cat tried to get onto Selena's lap..and Selena was sitting next to her. She shifted away from Selena and the cat..until her shoulder was pressed to the window, hoping people didn't notice how uncomfortable she looked.

"Hey Selena." Evelyn smiled, although she was still wary about the two cats that were freely roaming about and scaring the heck out of her. "How are you?"

The train. When did that happen? The entire day from platform up until this point Selina had been trying to figure out where summer had gone so swiftly. It was as if she had blinked and summer was over, but so much had happened that reminded her that summer had truly taken place.

So now she was a fifth year, the fifth year Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. The title and the shiny badge that was adorned on her clothes meant that she was expected to make a visit by the Prefect Compartment. Even after being a student leader the year before, Selina always felt a little awkward being in the Prefect Compartment with all of the super special students like the Head Boy and Girl. It was not that she had a problem talking to them all one-on -one, her best friend was the Gryffindor Prefect, but when they all were jammed into one compartment the whole thing seemed more official than it would be in another setting.

Regardless of her personal feelings, she took a deep breath and stepped inside the compartment. When she looked around it looked as if nothing had changed in the small compartment. The seating was the same, the windows were in the same place, the decor was still the same... the familiarity made it less intimidating. Then, when her eyes left the focus of the actual setting of the room, she started to scan the room for faces. She smiled when she saw Kurumi and Paulie, her own house officials, "Hey Kurumi, hey Paulie... by the way, congrats on Head Boy!" Oh yeah, Gryffindor Head Boy!

Then she saw the Selena who always thought Selina was an alien, but when she got a better look she saw the new Head Girl badge. With a nod she said, "Congrats on Head Girl, Selina." Just as she said that another prefect walked into the compartment. It was a Hufflepuff prefect who Selina did not know at all, but she still waved and said, "Hello there!"

With all of her introductions and hellos out of the way, she started to make her way over to her best friend when she noticed one more person in the compartment. The sight of the person literally made Selina stop in her tracks. It was the OTHER Hufflepuff prefect. She blinked twice in shock before looking at Kurumi and then back at him, "Erm... hello Lewis."

Evelyn looked up to find another girl enter the compartment. Who was she? No idea. She waved back at the girl with a smile. "Hello. I'm Eve." Evelyn extended her hand. Now, where were the cats again?

One thing was for sure, Selena was going to be a very different sort of Head Girl from Evelyn. For starters, there was going to be chocolate at every single prefect meeting. Kurumi wouldn't be surprised if they was a chocolate fountain installed in the office either. Would could prove to be a very good thing or a very bad thing. She somehow imagined the Slytherin literally jumping into it. No, wait, scratch that. There wouldn't be a fountain. She would just fill the prefects' bathtub with chocolate and force them all to go swimming in it.

Thoughts of chocolate were distracted when Lewis accepted her offer to sit down, however. Blushing just a little more when he sat down, Kurumi fidgeting with her grey dress just a bit before sitting up straight again. Walnut continued to purr on her lap with a continued look of satisfaction on his fuzzy face. She was just about to ask him how his OWLs went when someone else entered the compartment and Kurumi's attention was drawn there.

"Hey Selina," she smiled, noting the look on her best friend's face. Kurumi knew she shouldn't have been surprised by the look, not after the conversation that they had had over the summer when the Quidditch captain had come to visit, but it didn't take the sting out of the moment at all. Maybe if Kurumi brought up Quidditch that would fix everything? Quidditch and food were always good distractions when it came to Selina. Would it be too obvious that she was trying to distract her? Both girls were never all that good at keeping things from each other and they could really read each other like a book.

Kurumi's hand, the one that wasn't petting Walnut, dropped to her side and rested on the seat where she softly drummed it against the fabric. She should say something, right? Yes?

In the end she didn't say anything, but that was only because SelEna had spoken to her again. "Thank you," she chirped in regards to the compliment. Being a prefect for a third term was certainly an honor and something that she, as a timid first year, had never imagined she would be. She had come a long way and it was surreal to look back on it all now and thi---

Kurumi froze and her hand that had been drumming stopped and grabbed onto the object closest to it - which just so happened to be Lewis' hand. She didn't have to look to see that that is what she had grabbed a hold of, she just knew. Her heart was racing again, but not because she was holding Lewis' hand. It was racing because the topic of summer had come up and she didn't know how to respond to it. Her mouth opened and remained open for a moment before shutting again, her hand squeezing his for comfort and support. "S-S-Summer was....summer was..."

Her eyes went to Selina first, as if looking at her best friend would give her some sort of answer, and stayed there for a while before shifting to Lewis. Both of them knew what had happened. Both knew just how broken she was. Somehow, that thought helped her keep the tears at bay and she inhaled sharply, still unable to finish her sentence about summer.

Kimalia smiled to herself as she approached the Prefect's Compartment door, she was looking forward to another pleasant ride to Hogwarts. Fifth year, Fifth year, here we come! For now, she would ignore the upcoming O.W.Ls, she was officially an older student now, hehe.

Making sure her captain badge was still in place, she walked right on in to see some familiar people, like Selena, Kurumi, and Selina, "Hey peeps! How's it going?" .. and some new people, must be from Hufflepuff since they all graduated last term save their captain, and a boy from Gryffindor. She knew her manners though, and gave them a smile just as friendly, "Well, congrats on your new badges.. hope everyone had a good summer." Slinging her purse over her right shoulder, Kimalia then sat herself next to Selena.

After seeing Amelia onto the platform and towards the train, Gideon had walked around to see if there was anywhere else he could help. Finding nothing after a while, he simply made sure his sister had made it onto the Hogwarts Express safe and sound before following with his own belongings. The prefect set his trunk, broom and guitar safely in the luggage compartment before heading back into the aisle heading in search of a compartment.

He was a few feet forward when he registered that there was in fact one compartment he needed to check out, where no doubt Selina and Kurumi would already be heading and anyone else whose name he couldn't remember at the moment. His badge was still in his pocket, forgetting about it at the moment as he made his way to the prefect's compartment, as his focus was more just getting in the door and not being nervous about being one of the "new kids" there. Especially after all, since he doubted anyone thought they would be switching Gryffindor boys so soon...Adam was a seventh year...right?

Reaching the doorway, Gideon paused for a moment before sliding open the door and slipping inside. There were a handful of people already inside including Selina, Kurumi AND Walnut but it wasn't his friend and girlfriend who stopped him in his tracks. It was the older Gryffindor boy that caught him off guard. Another Gryffindor boy with a badge but he couldn't see what was written on it at first.

Wait...was there a mix-up? Was the owl sent to him by mistake when the position was meant for the other boy?

Okay...act natural. "Hey guys," Gideon greeted with a polite smile.

As Selina started to get more comfortable in the compartment someone drew her attention to the other part of the compartment. The elder Hufflepuff female prefect introduced herself to Selina and as she digested the name Selina knew for certain that she had never met the girl before in her life. However, now that they both were student leaders, Selina was looking forward to getting to know her between prefect events and student leader meetings.

In an attempt to return the introduction Selina said, "Pleasure to meet you Eve. I'm Selina... With an I," the last statement was more of a joke. The younger Selina was always assumed to be spelled similar to the elder Selena, the Head Girl. If she had a Knut for every time someone spelled her name incorrectly she would be filthy rich.

Then her attention was diverted to the entrance of the compartment. Another figure had just entered the compartment in her usual excitement and unique flare. Kimalia, the Slytherin Quidditch Captain, was now amongst the people in the compartment. Personally, Selina liked her fellow fifth year a lot. The two had gotten to work together last year in the prefect event and Selina thought she and Selena were hysterical. That was until Selina realized they were actually brewing a potion, "Hey there captain. How was your summer?"

When Kurumi said hello to Selina, Lewis' stutter was not too far behind. Perhaps, the fifth year was being a tad obvious to Kurumi with the look she was giving her, but she knew that Kurumi knew what the look was about. Lewis was a prefect and Kurumi was a prefect. In light of everything that Kurumi had told Selina over the summer, the redhead knew that this term had just gotten a lot more interesting. The pair would be working together and... Well... Merlin... This was going to be VERY interesting.

Swallowing her shock she said to Kurumi who had just grabbed Lewis' hand ~~yeah she had seen that~~, she said, "Erm... What's up Kurumi? Hey Lewis..."

To make things more awkward for Selina, another figure entered the compartment. She blinked a few times to make sure that the person standing there was really there. Her mouth hung open a bit before she blurted out, "Gideon... What are YOU doing here?". Merlin, were people trying to mess with her mind?

Selena beamed at the next person who walked in even though she was a Gryffindor. Besides, it was ALIEN girl. Who could hate that? "Thaaaank you, Alien Selina!" Selena chirped, petting the pygmy puff sitting on her head and avoiding the cat. She would like the cat to leave now. She eyed the Huffie prefect too. Because it was his cat.

Selena didn't really caaareeee what the guy's name was at that point. There were two too many cats in this compartment and too little pygmy puffs. Maybe the cats there had eaten them all? That would definitely explain a lot. And Selena still didn't like it. "Can I call you Mister Huffie? I'll let you call me, Sel," Selena bargained, still eying the cat who was trying to get on the seat. The Huffie better not put the cat on the seat. Cat might jump and attack her pygmy puff.

Vanilla likes pygmy puffs.

"I like to eat Vanilla ice cream," Selena stated. Because it tasted good. And she would like some ice cream right about now. "And pygmy puffs don't taste good, Vanilla can't eat him. Kent is cool. Vanilla's not allowed to eat the king of all pygmy puffs," Selena said, glaring at the feline. Evil thing.

Why was the girl moving away? Selena wouldn't say a word about it. Yet. Until the girl tried to toss herself out of the window, which was what seemed like the girl wanted to do. Right now.

Unless all the girl ate was cookies then she supposed the chocolate frog wasn't good.

Louisa made it to the train in the last minute after getting her ~~lost~~ badge back from the car. How she was supposed to remember that she was the Prefect for a full six months was beyond her. Dragging her trunk behind her while Viola, her tabby squirming cat, dangled from her arm the sixth year made her way to the compartment. Phew! It was a relief that she didn't have to look for one or scare firsties to go get their own compartments. Heh.

"Hiya authority figures of Hogwarts," she yelled rather sarcastically. Then two things happened at once after her eyes scanned the 'authority figures'; Her cat, Viola, pranced down upon seeing other fellow felines and meowed once or twice, and Louisa burst out laughing upon seeing Paulie with a freaking HEAD BOY badge. The cat made its way toward her fellows only to end up on the shoes of a Huffie boy. Might as well lick it while she was here. liiiiiiiick.

Louisa squeezed her way further inside and plopped down next to Paulie, containing her laugh. "Really? They decided to put you Mr. I have movie nicknames for everyone as a Head Boy?" She grinned. This term should be amusing. The girl's eyes then searched the others. "Hi Evelyn!" Louisa didn't know the girl was a Prefect this term, well.. that was natural since they never really talked or met in summer. The Ravenclaw wanted to fix this soon. Like right now.

Moving on with her eyes, Louisa smiled at a rather sheepish Kurumi, "Hey there. How's holidays?" Then the Huffie boy sitting nearby looking also sheepish caught her attention. She'd seen him around school before, just never really knew his name or anything else about him... Louisa gave him a friendly stare. There. She was being social.

Slytherinsss. Louisa waved at the Quidditch Captain, "Hi." She never spoke to her before either. However, the Head Girl sitting nearby sucked all the attention from the room with her energetic personality. Louisa grinned at her, "How're you, Selena?" She looked for that purple pygmy puff, "Where's superman?" Right? That was his name... or something close. The Ravenclaw didn't really squeeze her mind to get it right. It was only a ball of fur anyways.

Thennnn came Selina! "Hi Selina! Long time no see," Louisa had brought her feet up on the seat, squeezing against Paulie to get more comfy. Oh, the Gryffindor wasn't alone! There was Gideon too. Her dueling partner ~~who kicked her butt in every duel~~. Louisa smirked at him, "Howdy partner." She was about to wink at him but refrained, Selina was his girlfriend right? Louisa recalled talking a bit about relationships with the girl last trip to Hogwarts.

Sheesh, how did Louisa know all of those ~~minus the Huffie boy~~ when she was a tad less than friendly? Not logic at all.

Keefer hauled his trunk down the small corridor, navigating through uncertain-looking first years. Next year, I get on at the front of the train so there's less distance to go, he thought. Then it hit him. There wouldn't be a next time. Except at the end of the year, on the way back. He pushed this unpleasant thought out of his mind, not allowing it to cloud his features. Upon reaching the compartment he sought, he pushed open the handle, not knowing what to expect.

He glanced around, spotting a few familiar faces and a slew of unexpected ones. Including.. Extra Gryffindors? He did a double-take. Yes, extras. Interesting... "Hey everyone! Welcome aboard, eh?" He stowed his things and searched for a spot to sit. Most of the seats were full, including all of those next to people he knew.

Suddenly, in walked...... the other woman?! Oh, awkward. Paulie had totally been wrong on that whole Joao/Eve thing ~~no thanks to LOUISA~~, so he would have to come up with a new, more appropriate nickname for her this term. For now, he'd settle with her name. "Hello, Eve," he smiled. "Congrats on Hufflepuff prefect." All politeness, see?

He raised an eyebrow when he overheard Evelyn say something about not know she was prefect. WHAAAAAT?! Kurumi was, like, the smartest person ever. And she'd been prefect since FORever.

Haaaaahahahh! Paulie totally knew these were the types of reactions he would be getting about head boy. Total surprise. He laughed and gave a clueless shrug. "Thanks! Yeah, it's real crazy, huh? I honestly thought they made a mistake," he laughed. "Still think they might be pullin' a fast one on me." Hmmmm. He motioned to her prefect badge. "And congrats to you! Can't say I'm surprised in the least, though." Kurumi had been female Gryffindor prefect since he'd transferred to Hogwarts, and no one deserved it more.

He grinned down at Walnut and scratched his tummy. "Does he ever go by 'Wally'?"

The next student to walk in turned out to be the male Hufflepuff prefect. Paulie immediately recognized him from that time waaay back in Diagon Alley. It'd been a while, so the boy's name escaped him, but Paulie gave a friendly smile in recognition. "Hey, mate."

Did he spot a hint of nervousness when the boy spoke with Kurumi...? Huh. Interesting..

Paulie could feel this girl's eyes boring into his badge, and he felt a sudden sense of sympathy for Hester Prynne. He kinda expected her to question how he had managed to get this badge, but in the end, she didn't mention it at all. Instead, she spoke to her pygmy puff like he was a human. hehe.

Whoa! But not a moment later, she was introducing herself to him, and Paulie smiled and waved back. "Hiya, Selena," he greeted, now taking this opportunity to take a look at her Head Girl badge. All the badges looked so spiffy, sheesh.

"Kent and Clarke?" Paulie asked, when she introduced her pets. Like, Superman?? "That's so cool! I love the names." Anything to do with superheroes was cool.

Oh, look! Another Gryffindorrr. "Thanks, Selina! Same to you, with the whole quidditch captian thing." He had to give her major kudos, too. Paulie Foster was severely lacking in quidditch abilities, so he could only admire from the stands.

Aah, another Slytherin. Paulie briefly wondered where the Ravenclaw representation was, but he dismissed the thought when the newest arrival spoke. "Thanks, Kimalia." He knew her already because she was the Slytherin captain last year, too. "I'm Paulie, if ya didn't know." Which, she probably didn't.

Hmmmm, now another student entered. Although Paulie's eyes scanned for his badge, the boy must have forgotten to pin it on or something because Paulie found none. He was a Lion, though, because Paulie had seen him around the common room and such. Traces of confusion seemed to cloud the other Gryffindor boy's eyes, so Paulie went ahead and spoke up. "Hey, mate! So... I'm guessin' you're the Gryffindor prefect, yeah?"

Paulie certainly recognized that voice.

"Helen of Hogwarts?!" Cue the jaw drop. Really, Paulie sorta expected Louisa to get prefect, but when she walked in with her badge and all, it was a total shocker.

He grinned when she laughed at him. "Well, clearly, Hogwarts wanted a totally awesome year, so who else to choose but yours truly!?" He laughed himself before adding, "And you love the nicknames." Hah. The seventh year skimmed over her outfit before smirking and lifting his eyebrows. "Looks like we're twins today - lucky you!" Like... COLOR-wise. 'Cause Paulie didn't wear girls' clothing. Pfft.

He nodded his head towards her own blue badge. It had been about time the Ravens represent, right? He wondered who the male prefect was... "Badge looks good on ya. All those excellent OWLs came in handy, huh?"

Another Hufflepuff! The quidditch captain, as evidenced by his shiny yellow 'Captain' badge. Paulie hadn't known this boy either, so he offered yet another smile. "Hey - same to you, buddy," he responded.

Lewis kept on staring at the Head Girl in confusion when she didn't really seem to hear what he'd just said. "But...that's not my name. It's...Lewis." Didn't she understand that his name wasn't Mister Huffie? So there was no need for her to call him anything but his name, right? He blinked at her a couple of times when she added what he would get to call her. "I-is Sel your name then?" Or was that another nickname? Why was she being all confusing? Was she doing that on purpose?

WHAT?!

And now they were talking about ice cream? "I......do too?" Lewis offered, throwing Sel yet another confused look. Was that a good thing that they both liked Vanilla ice cream? It wasn't his favorite but you know, just making conversation. Or something. Now he wanted ice cream though. And she had understood that his cat was called Vanilla, though, right? Or otherwise his comment might have been quite random.

Oh good, she had. "She...she wasn't going to." Lewis replied with his eyes slightly widened as he stared at the Head Girl's head again. Why would she eat the Pygmy Puff? She would never do that. Oh, so this guy was the King of all Pygmy Puffs? He didn't know something like that existed but okay. There were always new things to learn. What did one have to do as the King of Pygmy Puffs? Was there a Queen too?

When he was about to return his gaze to Selena's face to give her an incredulous look, his eyes fell on Evelyn sitting next to her who looked...bad. Or was that just his imagination? His eyes rested on his fellow Hufflepuff Prefect for a moment longer before he dropped his gaze again, biting his liip. It was probably just his imagination. There was nothing to be scared of in here after all. Right? Or maybe she wasn't feeling well...

Lewis didn't really feel too good either when he couldn't help but notice the way Kurumi was fidgeting with her dress nervously. Her - and his - nervousness seemed to increase even more when Selina entered however, who was looking at them. At like both of them. Which made him feel even more uncomfortable in his seat and it was only because Vanilla had decided to lie on top of his shoes that he didn't make up an excuse to leave the compartment for a moment.

Oh. And now he had another reason. He hadn't really been paying much attention to the conversations going on inside the compartment so he was more than a little surprised when he felt Kurumi suddenly reaching for his hand. No, grabbing it really. A look of shock mixed with surprise and worry flashed across his face and he turned his head to look at the Gryffindor, hoping for some sort of explanation for the sudden touch.

And it was there. On her face. And it was even clearer when she opened her mouth to reply to a question somebody had asked. Summer. Of course. Lewis swallowed hard and glanced down at her hand on his for a moment before looking back up at her face. Without thinking about it he shifted his hand so that he could take hers properly, interlacing their fingers so he could give her a squeeze back. They were back on the topic of their mother and nothing else mattered right now.

Not that that meant that he wasn't blushing a little or anything. Especially when he caught Selina looking at them again. But then Selena just dropped the subject, luckily not asking Kurumi to finish her sentence. He wasn't sure if she would have been able to anyway. There was one - very very very SELFISH - disadvantage about this however. It meant that she didn't need his hand for support any longer. Which was probably for the best anyway, though.

His thoughts were interrupted by two more people (Gideon and Kimalia) entering the compartment. "Hello." Lewis greeted them both quietly, returning the girl's smile a little hesitantly. "T-thank you. You too." Though, hang on, she'd had her badge last term too, right? So there was no need to congratulate her...errr...awkward. Maybe she wouldn't notice. Plus he hadn't congratulated her on the badge yet. So they could just pretend he was like really late or something.

The two were followed suit by yet another Prefect...one who was very loud and eccentric it seemed. Lewis just stared at the Ravenclaw (Louisa) for a moment not really knowing what to say in reply. Should he yell something back? Before he got the chance to do anything though, his attention was caught by a cat who had come in with the girl and was now...at his feet. Licking his shoes. Not really minding or anything, the Hufflepuff just watched the feline for a while while Vanilla actually moved her paw to nudge it. Hullo!

KEEFER! Lewis actually smiled at the entrance of his Quidditch Captain. Finally somebody else he knew. Like actually knew. Like friend-sort-of-knew. "Hey!" In the meantime Vanilla had grown bored of nudging the other cat and sensing Evelyn's discomfort - only unfortunately not knowing the reason - had got up slowly and made her way over the the Hufflepuff, purring loudly. She even nudged the girl's legs with her head. There, feel better now?

Gideon saw a Slytherin girl he briefly remembered Selina dealing with waving at him. Out of politeness he gave a semi-weak wave back. Introductions to everyone would come at one point... right?

SPOILER!!: Louisa

It turns out he had other aquaintances in the prefect compartment as he reconized the Ravenclaw prefect, who she was sinking in when she called him partner. His dueling partner...of course. "Um...hey Louisa."

SPOILER!!: Selina

Mouth wide open.

Pleasant response acquired though the surprise wasn't quite over yet seeing as she hadn't assumed anything about the reason for his presence. Gideon knew he might get flack for keeping the news a secret, but it had been a late bit of news for him as well so he figured what real harm would it be.

"Well I missed seeing friends on the platform and wasn't sure where else to find ye," he remarked still playing completely normal and innocent though his hand reached into his pocket. "Though perhaps ye can help me now that I'm here. I receieved this...weird object with my letter. Perhaps ye know what it means." And with that, Gideon nonchallantly slipped his prefect badge out and held it out in front of him for her to see.

Keefer's head swiveled over to the new Head Boy, or so he thought, given the badge. Buddy? An odd way to greet someone, especially when you don't know them... But whatever. Nothing wrong with being friendly. Keefer returned the greeting. "Thanks, I'm Keefer." Hufflepuff Captain. But that wasn't necessary to say, since his badge said it all. So he settled for, "Seventh year." He extended his hand towards the boy.

Now there was a more familiar greeting! "Hey yourself!" He smiled at the sight of Lewis, a known face. And he was next to Kurumi, not altogether surprising. But he was also... holding her hand? Clearly something had changed over the summer he wasn't yet aware of. And next to the hands was.. "Walnut. I remember you." The cat that pees on your shoes, how could anyone forget? "May I scratch you behind the ears, Your Highness?"

Evelyn smiled at another girl who entered the compartment. "Thanks." Summer, again. Well, she was going to have to listen to people talk about summer..she'd better get used to it. "I hope you had a good summer as well." She gave another smile before she added, "I'm Eve."

GULP. Evelyn looked anxiously at Lewis's cat try to get onto the seat. Gosh, WHY did people own cats? Why not dogs?

Ice-cream? Evelyn momentarily forgot her anxiety and grinned. "I want cake." Yep, she really did. Chocolate cake, yeah. "Although, I wouldn't mind ice-cream either." Eyes back to the cat.

Her eyes scanned the compartment again, trying to figure out where the cats were. Seriously, this was starting to get ridiculous..but she couldn't help it. One cat..she could manage. Two cats..disastrous.

Evelyn's eyes shifted towards Paulie. She kept the smile on her face even if she was slightly annoyed. She just couldn't get over the fact that he called her 'the other woman.' It was just..horrible. "Hey, Paulie." Paulie. She couldn't keep the smirk off her face. Heh. That name was still funny. "Thanks. Congratulations to you too. Head Boy, I see."

Evelyn was about ask Lewis if he had a good summer when....her eyes grew really wide. She saw Lewis's cat walk towards her..eek. She bit her lip from screaming. WHY? WHY did people have cats!?

if it were even possible, her eyes grew wider when she saw the cat nudge her leg. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH NOOOO. She looked down, hoping against hope it would just go away. She sat, pressed against the window, still staring down at the cat.
