Brooke had made it to the third corridor on her journey through the whole of Hogwarts, she'd been outside a lot today so now she was travelling through the inside. She'd been on the first and second floor, not yet into the dungeons though- she'd decided to go there last 'cos she'd remembered that was where the common room was. Hehehe. Then she saw it. One of the ugliest things she'd ever seen in her life, and the blonde screamed, slamming herself against the wall, dropping to the floor and curling up in a ball. Now she was scared.

help? someone, anyone? Superman hero Special Alec ? Lucca ? Dar ? Anyone? eeek!

Woo. The Castle seemed a little smaller this year (or maybe that was just in his mind) and Darwin put that down to the fact that he'd grown a little bit over the summer and was now bigger than he had been during his first year. He wandered down from his Common Room, hoping that he could maybe meet Brooke somewhere and they could go for a walk or something. Or maybe they could go to the kitchens and get food because his stomach was rumbling and -

Was that someone SCREAMING?

Darwin began to run down the corridor, pulling his wand out. Now it was time for Super Hero! Darwin to come out, with his wizard Spiderman alter ego to save the day. Was it the fact that he recognised the screams that had him running so frantically, calling "I'm coming!" at the top of is voice?

No, because he didn't, not until he'd rounded the corner and stumbled across Brooke curled up by the wall. "Brookie! What's happened?" his voice was concerned and he didn't even look around to see why she'd be screaming, he just ran straight to her side and knelt down next to her. "What's wrong?!"

Why ? WHYYY was there such a statue in this school ? This school was a place full of kids, CHILDREN! Why would they put THAT there ? to scare everyone ? it was surely doing a great job. Brooke had never seen such a thing, sure she'd been to museum and seen statues and stuffs but never something like THAT. It had a weird back and it just wasnt nice looking at ALLL! Brooke shook her head, whilst curled up in her ball, taking deep breathes to try and calm herself down.

Then she heard someone call out "im coming" good someone was coming to save her.

She was too busy flailing and stuff to take note of the fact that it was a voice she recognised so when the voice called out her name and came and knelt down next to her she was a bit scared. She looked up and saw a best friend and a smile appeared on her face, she got out of the ball and wrapped her arms around him. "DAR! loo-look!" she said wearily pointing to the horrid statue.

Grabbing at her arms to stop them from flailing around, Darwin's wand clattered to the floor as he looked around, still trying to find the source of the fear in his bestie-for-life-with-no-takesies-backsies-or-swapsies. He still couldn't see it though - there was no one else in this corridor who could have hurt her, no creature that could have caused her to scream so, and no - well, no nothing! Just him, Brooke, some windows, and a statue, none of which he payed much attention to, bar, well, Brooke.

"Wh-what, Brookie?" he gasped, clutching at her hands. "Why are you screaming? Stop screaming! There's nothing there!"

Turning around once again, holding both her hands in his own to ensure that she wouldn't continue flailing, Darwin took in the corridor properly.

And now she was being grabbed by her arms, this was some sort type of gbh for sure, right ? uh. no, Brooke. She jumped a little as Darwin's wand fell to the floor, taking a deep breathe as she realised what it was. He'd just looked right at it, he'd just looked right at the statue and he wasn't screaming; okay boys didnt scream as much, but he wasn't even flinching. Nothing, he just looked past it. Like he hadnt even LOOKED at it! This was so weird!

Why wasn't he scared ? D:

"Th- The- ITS HORRIBLE!" she yelled, trying to point but failing due to Dar having hold of her arms. "...Stopping." she said, a pout on her face. "it..its scary though, Dar."

She smiled a little bit as he held her hands, his hands were warm and kinda soft like Alec's. heh.

"WHAT'S HORRIBLE?" Darwin shouted, almost as loud as she was (but not quite for she was screaming at a volume he was pretty sure was UNREACHABLE by normal humans. What that made Brooke he was unsure of, but he didn't want to think about that right now. He'd think about it later. When she couldn't scare him by turning into something else. Maybe it was a good thing, like... he didn't know, a secret angel superhero, though. Either way, right now her screaming was NOT HUMAN).

Now Darwin looked around and studied what she was attempting to point at. Studied it properly, and recoiled slightly. What he'd missed at his glances before was one of the most, or possibly even THE MOST, ugly statues he'd ever come across in his life. He wasn't going to scream though, not like she had.

Partially because he wanted to seem STRONG and COOL and SUPER like Spiderman. And also because, he reminded himself whilst taking a deep breath, it was just a statue. A point he reiterated verbally to Brooke. "It's just a statue Brookie, it ain't gonna hurt ya!"

At least, he hoped it wasn't. He hoped it wasn't gonna be like the pictures and start to move. Whimper.

Brooke wriggled to pull her hands out of Dar's grasp because she wanted to cover her ears, quite hypocritically she spoke and said "SHEEESH. No need to SHOUT!" even though she had just been screaming at quite an unusually high pitched, high volumned scream. It took lungs to give a scream like that her grandma said. "THAT is horrible." she said, once more, this time with her head, pointing to the awful looking statue.

And then it seemed Dar had finally noticed it, but he still wasn't screaming. Why wasn't he screaming ? D: Brooke didn't understand this boy at all, he'd just looked at one of the scariest things ever in the whole wide entire world and he wasn't even scared. Or he was, and he was PRETENDING not to be! oh my.

Brooke stared at her best friend like he was crazy. Had he just said it was JUST a statue ? "Uh Helloooo. Haff you never watched movies, it could SHOOT lazers or something!" she said flailing her arms, cuddling into her bestie for protection because not even her superhero special powers could save her now.

They. were. doomed.

Darwin was a bit offended when she pulled her hands away from him and put them over her ears. "Brookieee, that's not fair," he moaned, frowning. "I wasn't shouting HALF as loud as you were screaming! You nearly hurt my ears!" If he hadn't made her stop when he had, this conversation may not have even been happening because he wouldn't have been able to HEAR it.

"Why are you staring at me? What have I done? Is there something on my FACE?" At her pointed gaze his hands flew up, touching his nose and his eyes and then his hair. What was she STARING at? Had his face changed over the course of the past few minutes? Since he'd ran from his Common Room and found her on the floor in this corridor? WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO HIM?

LAZERS? "B-but.. but... this is HOGGYWARTS! Do they have lazers here, too?" Noo, he thought they had magic! Of course, at the mention of them and films, Darwins mind reeled through ever horror thing he'd ever seen with statues in, from Doctor Who that Oskar and his granddad had shown him, to the one Brooke was on about with the lazer beams. He shrunk against the wall, next to his bestie, putting his arms around her to protect her.

Looking a LOT less scared than he felt. Being strong for his bestie.

"Brookie, were did my wand go?"

IT HAD BEEN IN HIS HAND. WHERE HAD HE DROPPED IT?

Brooke stuck her tounge out at Dar as he moaned that it was unfair that she had her hands over her ears, she could still kind of hear him although his voice was a little bit muffled. "It is tooo fair!" How was it not fair ? She didn't think it was unfair in any way shape or form. Heheh. He could've easily covered HIS ears but he didnt need to because she wasnt SHOUTING; no she was screaming. ..twice as loud. "You were TOO!" she stomped her foot on the floor. "SO DIDNT HURT YOUR EARS!" frowny face.

"Cos you're not scared! Why are you screaming ?!" it was so super scary, he should've been screaming just like she had. Well, okay maybe not as high pitched because Brooke's scream was VERY high pitched.

Brooke nodded her head very enthusiastically. "I fink so." It was a magic school, surely they had lazers of magic for protection ? Lazers that BURNT people who werent meant to be here, Brooke was gonna be here forever though so she'd never get burnt by any lazers, so it was okay for her. Brooke had seen a movie about someone who nearly got burnt by lazers, or was it a tv programme, then the other fish had got slicedead by the lazer!

"The statue probly hass it. Told you it was bad."

firm!nod. She won.

"Don't stick your tongue out a me!" Darwin gasped indignantly. "It isn't! I didn't put my hands over MY ears when you were screaming, and I was only SHOUTING to stop you screaming because screaming is BAD and you'll probably get everyone running here thinking you're DYING." He wasn't sure which 'people' he meant - maybe ghosts or teachers or portraits or other students - but he knew that screaming would make people come. "Yeah but you COULD'VE hurt them! What would you have done if I'd become DEAF? You'd regret shouting then, wouldn't you?"

Hmmft.

Him, screaming?! "I know... it's not THAT scary. And I don't scream. Boys don't scream. I'm twelve now, twelve year olds don't scream! I mean, twelve year old boys don't." Because it was okay that Brookie was screaming because she was frightened.

This was too weird to think about. Darwin shook his head. "But... But everyone's got wands, why... why do they need lazers?!" Wasn't magic protection enough? WAS THIS SAYING THAT THERE WERE SOME THINGS THAT MAGIC COULDN'T PROTECT THEM AGAINST? That was a scary thought, a very very scary thought, and Darwin didn't like it. Not one bit.

Especially seeing as he didn't have a wand right now. "No, the statue can't have it! It can't! It hasn't moved, it can't have taken my wand!"

"I already diiiddd!" she said repeating the action. "Nunanunanaunanu!" yes, she was very childish. "It isss! Yeah, but you COULD'VE! pshttt. You just never fought of it, when I DIDDDD!" she said making an L shape with her right hand, not realising it didnt quite make an L shape. "No one will come, if anyone comes it'll be because of your super loud SHOUTING! That is not needed!" She flailed her arms about shaking her head about at the same tim; which was also. Not needed.

...It wasn't that scary ?! what ?! "...Yes. It. Is." she spoke, her voice very demanding. Boys didnt scream. "What do they do when they're scared then ?" She was pretty sure she'd heard Dar scream before but she wasnt going to argue, they already bickered quite a lot so she decided to be the bigger person, this was her only chance seen as he was taller.

Brooke gave Dar a look. "Incase zombies take over hoggiewarts and stop all our wands from working, DUH." She spoke like this should be totally obvious to Dar and everyone else in existance. Brooke thought this was gonna happen one day, the whole zombie thing so she'd thought about preperation for when it did. This was her reasoning behind why they had such ugly statues, to hold the lazers.

"It might've moved like a ninja..."

This was annoying Darwin now, and he moved his own hands to his ears. "FINE. I can do it, TOO. LALALALAAAA LA." he sang, although now he wasn't sure that the two of them could here each other, what with them both covering their vital hearing organs. It was abit stupid, but the twelve year old didn't really care. "That's just 'cause you're super dooper clever though!" If HE'D been super dooper clever like his bestie the he would have thought of it aswell, but the fact remained that he just wasn't.

Sigh.

"But it WAS needed. Because otherwise you wouldn't have stopped screaming!" Now he was right and he knew he was right! But he still couldn't here here properly so he moved his hands away from his ears and dropped them back to his sides.

"Not.. THAT much, though." he argued. Gosh, Brookie was very sure and demanding today, wasn't she? "BIG boys don't get scared. If the did then I couldn't be your super Spiderman and protect you from the scary lazer-statue, could I?" Oskar didn't get scared and Spiderman DEFINITELY didn't get scared and so there was NO WAY Darwin was going to be scared. Somebody had to be strong and protect Brookie and as a bestie it was his JOB.

Even if he was a little bit scared. Just a little bit.

Darwin bit his lip. "Do you think that's reeeeally possible? Like reaaaally? What about the teachers? Would their wands stop working, too? Wouldn't they be able to protect us?" Even the big really clever, super important Head Professory? The thought shook Darwin a little. "But why would it hurt us, now? There aren't any zombies here, are there? It doesn't think WE'RE zombies, does it?" No, it couldn't! He had a... a whatchacallit... a heartbeat! Zombies didn't have them, because they were, well, dead!

Hands falling to the floor beside him, Darwin searched frantically for his wand. Why had he lost it? Why on EARTH had he EVER let go of it? He was sad now, he didn't want to LOSE it. "Do you think it'll give me it back?" He did need that wand. It was the only thing that he could do magic with. Sniffle.

A small smirk appeared on the younger girls face, slightly younger, SLIIIIIGHTLY, she couldnt remember how slightly younger she was because she was a bad bestie and the evil statue had hypnotised her into forgetting everything. "YOU'RE SO CHILDISHHH." not that they were children or anything, pfffttt. She was super dooper clever ? Well, if Dar insisted. "Yep. I am." she beamed, even though she really wasn't It was nice of Dar to say so so she was going to agree with him.

"IT WASNT NEEDED!" and still the yelling continued, mainly on Brooke's part though, but she was very stubborn and determind to win this argument, if it could be called that. "I was so not screaming." she insisted, folding her arms to show her seriousness.

"Yes that much." she fought back, she was determind to win this argument. More importantly she was determind not to loose, yes those were the same thing but Brooke saw the latter option as more important. "Ooooh. Thats super good then!" Brooke giggled, she had a superman and a spiderman, well she had a whole superhero set..nearly. She needed a batman. *mellow*

Brooke thought for a few seconds about Dar's question. "Um yeah, i fink it is possible. Definitely possible. The teachers ? well uh. I fink their wands wont work neeva." Nope, they wouldnt. "Zombie's are super powerful." especially for dead people. eek. Think they were zombies ? "No, i dont fink it finks we're zombies, it just.. i dunno. Sometimes it hurts people to test if its working." she gulped. "i fink we're the new testes." she frowned. She didn't like tests.

"Um...well its gonna shoot us wiff lazers. So no, i dont fink so." be blunt about it why dont you, Brooke.

HIM? CHILDISH?! "AM NOT." Darwin's protest was hypocritical - the tone with which he spoke suggested the exact opposite of what he said, and completely gave Brooke evidence. But he didn't know that, nor did he care. He was NOT childish. "YOU'RE younger, YOU'RE the child here!" He'd be thirteen and a TEENAGER before she would and he'd been twelve for longer than her so that made HER more childish. "BUUUT just because you're clever doesn't mean that you're less childish than me. It ALSO doesn't mean you can be MEAN." No, that was NOT what being super dooper clever was about.

..."Then why are you still shouting?" If it wasn't needed and she was as super dooper clever as he thought she was then why on EARTH was she still shouting? She herself had been the one to state it's unnecessariness. "You were so screaming so loud. If you hadn't been I wouldn't have come RUNNING thinking that someone was DYING." Mimicking her, Darwin folded his arms. He was right and he knew that, so why didn't Brooke know it, too?

Pout.

She was being so silly now, he couldn't help but think. It was just a statue, and he blew his hair out of his eyes in exasperation. "No, not that much at all! Maybe to you, but not to me." Nope. It was a tiny weenie bit weird but not as scary as she was making out. Or at least, it hadn't been until she'd brought zombies and lazers into it. *shudder*

"M-m-maybe we should get out of here, and go somewhere else. Because I don't want zombie-lazers being tested on me." No, if they were the test subjects then maybe they'd DIE. Or like, be BLOWN UP, because zombies were already dead and so that was how they got... well, killed. Sort of. And he was not prepared to be killed as if he were a zombie, because he was NOT a zombie and this was his SCHOOL and he was TWELVE and so not ready to die.

*gulp* "But I need my wand back, Brookie. It's my WAND." D:

Brooke flailed her arms, a action she often did when she was frustrated, excited, pretty much any emotion that could be felt by the twelve year old. "ARE...TU-OOOOOO!" And Brooke was equally just as childish, and much more tantrum-y than her best friend; she couldn't just be happy with someone else being right, could she ? No. She had to be right even, wait no ESPECIALLY when she was wrong, "im more MA...MA ...MAT.. IDUNNO BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEEEANN." she pouted, that would've worked a lot better had she been able to remember the word mature when she was looking for it. "It dooes mean that cos childish people am childish cos they dun' know much. duuuuh. And im not being mean." Another pout appeared on Brooke's face.

"I'm not." she quickly stopped shouting lookking around as if Dar was talking utter gibberish which he wasnt because she had been shouting a lot. Eeek. "I wasn't screaming thaat loud." uh, weren't you Brooke ? "No, i wasnt. I neffer screamed loud enough for you to hear me you was just listening too good and wanna be a superhero so you comed to save me." she nodded.

"Very much," Brooke protested, she was scared of the statue so it must've been scary. "It's very very very scary." she nodded her head to confirm just how serious she was. "And you're scared too, you're..you're just pretending not to be!"

"I like this idea!" Getting out of here away from the scary statue and going somewhere fun sounded like a GOOD plan! "Um. Um. whatifthestatuefollowsus?" she flailed her arms, ohemmee, That would be super bad then they'd have a statue!stalker. She clung onto her best friend hoping he would say something smart and reassuring because she was scared and she didn't wanna be killed by lazers and turn into a lazer-y zombie, nor did she want a statue!stalker. EEK. Dilemmas. D:

"...i uh..ill go wait over here.. you go get it." if he really wanted it, he needed to get it right ?

Ooooh. A statue. Indy could so use this to her advantage. Indy smiled, taking herself over to the statue. Indy had spent the morning hanging up her posters to get the observatory re-opened. She was really hoping that it was going to wokr. Because she had worked pretty hard on them. And the cause was pretty close to her heart. Indy loved the observatory, and she loved looking at the stars. She was really missing astronomy this year. Indy smiled to herself, as she leant down and picked the poster out of her bag, and figured out how she was going to hang it up. Maybe at the bottom. Leaning down the pressed the blu tac onto the statue. There. That looked good.

Indy smiled, taking a few steps back and looked at it. That was good. Hopefully lots of people would see it, and it would look cool. And then the observatory would get opened again. And Indy would be very happy.

Theodore was TIRED. He had been up all night reading comic books, because he had been neglecting them LOTS lately. It was a toss up between comics and homework. And the comics won. Theodore's homework was suffering, greatly.

But he went for a walk, to get himself away from the dorms for a bit.

BAM. As he passed through the third floor, his eyes stopped on this huuuuuuge statue. Z-OMG.

HE WANTED TO CLIMB IT.

Theo skipped towards it and grabbed hold of it's neck to mount it.

WOOT.

Ella wasn't exactly sure where she was going but she was up for a bit of an adventure and so she started walking aimlessly, letting her feet take her where ever. As she rounded the corner near the humpbacked witch statue, she heard an odd sound. Hm...

The second year stopped short when she saw none other than Little Lurker boy attempting to...WAIT. Was he going to try and climb it? Climb the humpbacked witch? Oh no. no. no. no. no. That thing was like ANCIENT! What if it like-crumpled under him or something? O__O

"Theo? What in Merlin's glistening white beard are you doing?" She asked, walking up to the first year with her eyebrows raised.

Theo wrapped his arms around the statue's neck but felt incredibly unsteady. Oh, Merlin... He arms were not muscular enough for this. So... he just hung there for a few moments.

Cos if he let go, he'd probably break his legs, knowing him.

What?
"Errrr...." His head turned the best it could and it was that girl from the snowball fight! Ella! The one who almost gave him a black eye. "Just hanging around."

ACCURATE.

The second year couldn't be serious any longer at Theo's surprise. Just hanging around? Heh. This kid was funny! And just look at him, legs flailing, hanging from the neck of a witch. What a sight. "Yeah, I can see that." She said with a smile. "Andddd how's that working out for you? The hanging, I mean?" Because it didn't look like the lurker had much of a plan now that he was just chilling, arms around the witches neck...Ella grinned.

Walking forward a bit so she was standing close enough to maybe save Theo if he lost his grip, Ella smirked at the boy. "You weren't practicing kissing or something like that, were you Theodore?" She asked teasingly, eyebrows raised. Poor kid. With the position he was currently stuck in it actually wasn't that far fetched!

"Umm..."

It wasn't working out at all, really. Theo was genuinely terrified to let go. "Help?" HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP. He kicked his legs about until he found a sturdy place to rest it. Oh, okay. The first year swung his body and BAM, he was on top of the statue.

"OOOOOOOOOHHHHH YEAAAAAAAA." His attention was not on Ella at all anymore.

Until she spoke some more...

Practicing his kissing? KISSING?

"I DON'T KISS. THAT IS DISGUSTING." Ewwwwww...

Ella grinned. This was seriously the best thing she had seen all day. Now she kind of understood how Edric felt watching her. Younger kids were pretty amusing.

The second year held out her arms when Theodore asked for her help. As much as she enjoyed seeing him flailing around like that, she wouldn't let him hurt himself. Not after she'd almost given the kid a black eye But then...

"Ouch Theo, those are my ribs, you know!" She said, rubbing her very sore rib cage. What was he anyway, some kind of ninja? Well it sure seemed that way the way he was kicking his legs around. And hey, homeboy had suddenly got on top of the statue. He was like the king of Humpback Witch Mountain. Too bad she didn't have a flag...

Ella burst into laughter at Theodore's reaction to the kissing comment. She shook her head to try and control the giggles and tried her best to look serious again. "Okay Theo, whatever you say..." And she raised an accusing eyebrow at him. Heh. "And you know, you don't have to climb a statue to practice. You could use your arm...or a pillow. I've heard boys do weird things like that."

Oh, SNAP.

Did he just kick her in the ribs? He thought that was an extra part of the statue. "Woooooah, I'm so sorry!" He eyed her closely. Nope, she looked conscious. She was fine. MOVING ON....

Since when did he say it was okay for Ella to call him Theo, too?

Hmm? HMMMMMM......?

"LA LA LA LAAAAAAAa. Can't hear you." Theodore stuck his fingers in his ears when she continued to talk about kissing. The only person he kissed was his mum. And even that grossed him out. "My.. arm?" He gaped at her. "Why would I ever do that?" Even if he did have a girlfriend, kissing was out of the question.

Girlfriends were just there to look nice next to them.

Theodore wondered who he would have if he ever had a girlfriend. The thought process didn't last long because his brain was about to explode with 'ews'.

YESSSS little Theodore. Your mad ninja skills did just injure one Ms. Ella Bishop. Shame. SHAME ON YOU!

Ella continued to rub her ribs, a faint smile on her face when the little lurker child apologized. "It's fine. I think I'll live..." She said with a shrug. She paused for a moment before adding. "And if I don't I'll be sure to haunt you." That's right Theodore, you'd have your very own haunting going on up in Hogwarts.


The second year just smirked as Theodore put his fingers in his ears to block her out. Woah. She never knew kissing was that gross a subject! And then the firsty was gaping at her. O__o What? What was that look? Ohhh..hehehe "Yes, your arm. My neighbors, Tommy and Tad, they used to talk about practicing on their arms. I told them I thought they were nutters but apparently it does happen." And she was being completely honest. Those two boys were always telling her weird stuff about boys and what they did. It was actually really enlightening. Now she had all kinds of things to look for when hanging with her guy friends.

"Oh don't look so put out, Theodore. Girls aren't that gross." If anyone was gross in the whole boy-girl scheme of things it was the boys! Girls smelled nicer and weren't as weird as boys were. That was for sure.
