Ella entered the barn with Barnabus sitting up on her shoulder. He was humming quietly and Ella took that as a sign of excitement. She felt bad that he hadn't been socializing much since she got him and she decided it would be nice to take him to see some of the bigger puffskeins. She didn't exactly love the fluffy puffskeins, especially knowing that they liked to stick their long tongues up noses, but she had to put Barny first, socializing was important for a puff after all...Or so she thought.

She approached the enclosed pen and as she got closer, Barny began to let out some serious squeaks. SQUEAKKKK SQUEAKKKKK SQUEAKKKKKK She looked down at the little yellow puff ball, wondering what was up. "Barnabus, what has gotten into you? Are you excited to see your erm-slightly larger friends?" The little puff just looked back at her, eying her curiously. "Alright, alright, we're almost there!"

Ella got to the pen and bent down, placing Barnabus inside so that he could play with his bigger family members. The puffskeins, who hadn't paid much attention to Ella's approach, were quite interested in Barny's arrival. They gathered around the little yellow puff and began to hum. "Uhhh, Barny? I don't know if this is good or not..." Ella said, hoping that putting Barnabus in the pen wouldn't make the puffskeins mad. Barny didn't seem nervous though, he approached one of the bigger puffskeins and blinked at it. Suddenly, Barny couldn't be seen except for a small amount of yellow fur. "Barny-Barny where are you?!" Ella panicked, thinking the puffskein had eaten her little guy, "Oh no! I killed him! Whyyyyy!" She said, putting her hands to her cheeks.

When she calmed down, she noticed that the yellow fur that she could actually see seemed to be moving. "Barnabus?" She whispered, bending down to get a closer look. Suddenly she saw his little face appear, a sigh of relief escaped her lips, and then she frowned. "Don't you ever scare me like that again!" She scolded. All she got in return was a Squeakkkk. She watched as Barnabus continued to cuddle with the large puffskein, noting the humming sound that was coming out of each. "I guess you like eachother then?" She said, frowning. Leave it to Barny to fall for a puffskein.

Selena wanted to play with the puffskein. For some fairly obvious reasons. So Kent could meet his ancestors. Because it was obvious that the puffskein were OLD versions of pygmy puffs. "Puffskeeeeeiiiins? Where you fuzzy people at?!" Selena called out, purple pygmy puff on her head and all that. She wondered if the puffskeins ate chocolate. She would find out. That was after all NOT the only reason she had chocolate in her bag. As she made her way towards the colony of puffskeins she noticed something... There was another person there... with the puffskeins... and their pygmy puff. WHY PEOPLE COPY HER?!

"Haaaaiiiiiiiiiii," Selena chirped at the person as the short prefect sat down on the ground in front of the pen. Selena plucked the pygmy puff off of her head and let it face the puffskeins. "There. Talk to them. Squeak to them. Let them know you're cooler than them." That was brilliant advice for a pygmy puff, obviously. Especially for the KING of all pygmy puffs. So... Kent... BE AMAZING.

Kent just say there, blinking blankly at the puffskein colony. Pfft.

Kurumi entered the barnyard all bundle up and with her hair back in a ponytail. Despite it being March now, there was still a crispness in the air that turned her nose red and caused a pinkish glow to her cheeks. As she entered, she saw that there were two others in her with their pygmy puffs. Kurumi should bring Momotaro II here too. He would probably like to be with the other Puffskeins instead of snuggled up against her socks in her sock drawer back in the dorms.

Brush in hand, Kurumi looked for the kneazles. She had been hoping to spend a little time with them to maybe see if, in fact, Walnut was part kneazle or not. Her first visit to Professor Williamson's office had got her thinking about all that. She found an especially fluffy one and sat down on a haystack and rubbed her fingers together to hopefully lure the creature towards her.

When it did take notice of her, the feline-like creature waddled towards her and she bent over to pick it up, setting it on her lap. The brush she had with her was one that she used on Walnut to rid him of fleas, but that would work on Chizpurfles too, right? Not that they would really be all that visible to the naked eye, which is why she brought a magnifying glass with her.

Slowly, she began to comb through the kneazle's fur with the brush while her other hand used the magnifying glass every now and again to get a better look at its skin. "Oh...there's one..." she mumbled, taking a small bottle out of her bag and using a cue tip to soak up some of the solution before dabbing the effected area on the kneazle's skin around the base of its neck. That is where you put flea repellents anyway.

Ella looked up from Barny and the canoodling puffskein when she heard a voice. "Hello" She said, smiling at the older girl. "I see we had the same idea today," The little badger said, nodding to the small pygmy puff that was now in the pen with Barnabus and the puffskeins. "I'm Ella by the way." She added.

Alyssa entered the Barnyard. She decided to keep Nerfball in the castle, because there were some creatures in here that were big and she didn't want him to get trampled. She was headed for the stalls where the winged horses kept. She saw a beautiful chestnut colored Aethonan, a gigantic Palomino Abraxan and a gray Granian, each standing in their own stalls. There was an empty stall next to them, but she could see movement in that stall. 'Could there be a Thestral in here?' Alyssa thought to herself. The fact that she couldn't see it didn't mean that it wasn't there.

She walked over to the supplies cabinet and removed a grooming brush. She was headed back to the winged horses when she heard someone talking...actually saying a rude phrase. She stopped and looked around, and the talking stopped too. Then she heard another rude phrase. She couldn't see what was saying those rude words, but from what she had read in her textbook, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" she guessed that it was a Jarvey.

Auggie had heard that Professor Williamson had set up a barn for the animals to live in during the cold months but he hadn't been down here to see it in a while, apart from his view of it from their Care of Magical Creatures lessons. Because he knew that Taryn liked the ducks so much, he thought it would be a fun trip to take her down here and they can play with the Kneazles or something.

Opening up the door, the Gryffindor walked in hand in hand with his Slytherin girlfriend and began to look for where the small cat-like creatures may be.

Taryn was starting to think she should consider a career in Magical Creatures, because she simply ADORED animals. So, when Auggie suggested that they go visit the kneazles, of COURSE she agreed.

But it seemed that they weren't the only ones with the idea. Taryn smiled at the Gryffindor girl, who was apparently named Kurumi. She totally recognized her from that... blowup at the Gryffindor table not too long ago. No wonder Auggie seemed so interested and upset by it all, he knew her!

"Hi there." She waved too along with the smile. Was Auggie going to introduce them? It WAS the polite thing to do, after all. Silly boy.

Having finished ~~hopefully~~ de-Chizpurfles-ing the kneazles that was currently sitting on her lap, Kurumi took a moment to pamper him and brushed his fur some more, taking special care under his chin and around his chest since that was the most fluffy area on the creature. It seemed as though shedding season was upon the kneazles as clump after clump of fur was removed. "You are such a good boy," she cooed, setting the brush down and scratching his cheeks beside his whiskers.

She probably should take a look at the other kneazles. This guy had had a lot of Chizpurfles on him ~~or so she thought~~ so the others were probably infested as well. Good thing she had a lot of that potion with her?

Looking up when she saw someone else enter. "August!" she smiled with a small wave. She would stand, but, well, kneazle. "The more the merrier really. These guys are sort of plagued with Chizpurfles at the moment." Like woah!

Oh? What was this? August was holding hands with a girl? If he had been a first year, Kurumi would have thought nothing of it. She had held onto boys' hands as a first year because she was seeking comfort and nothing more. BUT, August was no first year. Nope. So this hand holding was different. "Hello," she said, returning the girl's smile before her eyes flicked knowingly towards August.

Amelia had Pixie in her hands as she made her way into the barnyard. She wanted to spend some more time with the magical creatures at Hogwarts, and she wanted Pixie to make some new friends in the process.

She paused to look at the different activities available,and smiled when she saw that Puffskeins were on the list. "Oooh, it's your relatives, Pixie!" Want to meet them?"

*SQUEAK SQUEAK*

With that as confirmation, Amelia started looking for the Puffskeins.

Wait...Kurumi and Taryn DIDN'T know each other yet?

The fourth year stood their for a second, his mind elsewhere trying to replay all the of the conversations he had had with his friend and his girlfriend over the past few months and he could have sworn he had told them about the other one. Kurumi's knowing look matched with Taryn's presence at his side brought the boy back into the slightly smelly barnyard and he shook his head.

"Oh um, sorry, uh Taryn this is my friend Kurumi, the Gryffindor Prefect. Kurumi this is Taryn, my girlfriend." he gestured between the two of them and after saying girlfriend he didn't look the older girl in the eye at first. It was like telling your older sister you had a girlfriend. He knew she would tease him later.

Taryn was glad that he finally got around to introducing them, though it made her giggle when he used the word girlfriend. Still made her giggle. Hehe. Girlfriend.

"Nice to meet you Kurumi." She smiled sweetly at the girl. Anyone who was a friend with Auggie was surely awesome, yes? She couldn't help but let her mind wander back to the whole THING at the Gryffindor table. That was the only time she'd ever noticed the Gryffindor girl.

The kneazle Kurumi had been tending to jumped off her lap and scampered off elsewhere, but Kurumi hardly noticed since all eyes were on August. Hehe. He looked so adorable how awkward he was being right now. It felt sort of nice, being in the power position. Usually, it was Kurumi blushing and fumbling over her words when it came to boys and what not. She COULD tease him, but she knew how awkward and embarrassing things could be, so she decided to play nice...for now.

Flashing a smile at August first, Kurumi bowed her head slightly towards the girlfriend. "It's nice to meet you too, Taryn." Kurumi noticed her Slytherin robes and couldn't help but giggle inside her head. Following in Kurumi's footsteps, perhaps? She then reached down and scooped up another kneazle that was rubbing its head against her leg and began to brush him as well. Any Chizpurfles on this guy? "So...what brings you to here? A date?"

Okay...so maybe just a little teasing was called for.

SPOILER!!: The Girls

Ok so the awkwardness could be over now. They would all just de-Chizpurfle the Kneazles (sounded like a Dr. Seuss book to him) and enjoy themselves right? Auggie's cheeks turned slightly pink as Taryn giggled and Kurumi asked if they were on a date.

He hadn't really felt embarrassed about Taryn and his relationship before now and it wasn't even about the actual relationship--it was their current audience. "Actually we were just going on a walk and I was curious what was going on in this place." he said gesturing around him, with his free hand that was not in Taryn's.

"So...uh, would you like some help with these guys?" The lion asked pointing at the little cat-like creatures. He was going to need some help, hopefully Taryn would want to take part too.

A date? Taryn laughed. Why would they go on a date to... a barnyard? No thanks. That was worse than Auggie buying her socks for her birthday.

Though she supposed again, that would be one of those 'it's the thought that counts' moments.

Anyway. One of the kneazles had wandered over in their direction and Taryn let go of Auggie's hand to scoop up the creature. "You can take care of the chizpurfles." Right? Hehe. She grinned at August. Okay. So, maybe she didn't want a career in Magical Creatures after all, chizpurfles kind of grossed her out.

She turned her eyes back to the girl and tilted her head, glancing between the two of them, "How long have you guys known each other?" She assumed for a while, but it was weird that Auggie had never mentioned her. He knew all of HER friends, why didn't she know all of his?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Sure sure. Not that Kurumi really knew what a proper date was like. Every time Kurumi and Jonathan had been along together, it seemed like any other time really. She was comfortable and happy and...oh, well, there were a few things that were different... Kurumi's cheeks blushed, especially when she remembered their first Valentine's Day in the Room of Requirement.

"Huh? Oh, um, if you are willing," she nodded. There were an awful lot of kneazles and that meant an even larger amount of the pests. "I've been using Qtips to dab potion on the backs of their necks," she explained, showing August on the kneazle she was currently holding.

Taryn's question sort of took Kurumi by surprised and it probably showed on her face. Come to think of it, Kurumi wasn't entirely sure when she had first met August exactly, but she did remember speaking with him at the Opening Feast when he had first come to Hogwarts. "Going on two years now," she nodded. "But sometimes it seems like we have known each other much longer." Seeing as they had that brother-sister bond going on.

Alyssa continued to ignore the Jarvey and proceeded to supply cupboard and took out a grooming brush from it. She then went over to the horse stables and first started working on the chestnut colored Aethonan. She started brushing his body first. stroking downwards with the brush, until his chest was nice and shiny. Then she brushed it's mane, untangling the hair of knots and stray hay, dirt and twigs. As she brushed, she talked to the creature. "You are a beautiful one aren't you. I bet you miss your other friends. I hope that one day you will be back with them again." Alyssa whispered to it as she then proceeded to brush his tail making sure that she kept an eye on his hind legs, just in case he decided that he didn't want his tail brushed at all. She brushed his tail combing downwards removing twigs, leaves and hay from it. She brushed until the Aethonan's coat was nice and shiny.
