A section of the lake a little ways away from the giant lillypad jumping event has been targeted for the ever entertaining Magical Treasure Plunge. The water is both shallow and deep, depending on where your adventure takes you, yet there is no indication of either from above. The still waters can become quite daunting if one stares too long.

Below the surface however is quite the sight for sore eyes. Plants of all different shapes, colors, and sizes can be seen stuck to the lake's floor, swaying ever so gently through the ripples of the gloomy waters as if there were a light breeze. The few colorful fish passing by every now and then in hurry creates the perfect underwater scenery. The further one swims into the lake though, the darker the waters become; caused by the large rocks casting sinister shadows across anything and everything, and perhaps even hiding an ever watchful creature here and there.

However, fear not young divers, for this plunge doesn't end with just a memory of the experience, for scattered around the lakes floor are hand sized glittering chests, lighting up the area around them. Each one is filled with a treat that would surely keep you coming back for more. Be careful however…

Various creatures are just waiting for their moment to jump out at you, some even seeming to be protective of these sparkling chests, and a number of plants are just a bit too friendly.

SPOILER!!: Treasure Chest Prizes and Goodies

The rules:
This is an RP event; to get a treasure chest, you must RP in this thread.

It is required to post at least 3 times AND get past an obstacle to receive 1 treasure chest. This obstacle could be being in trouble with a creature or trying to get past a rather clingy plant. Maybe even trying to get the same treasure chest another RPer wants as well. Creativity is encouraged!

The only magic one can use is on oneself (such as a bubble head charm) or on the creature/plant/obstacle that presents itself if necessary. The treasure chests are stuck to the floor and will not be moved until touched by human hands.

Students using magic against another student that could result in a dangerous situation will not be tolerated. There are enough treasure chests to go around.

You can plunge into the lake for another treasure chest as many times as you like! However, you'll have to follow the process of finding one each time.

Please keep in mind your character's skill level. Younger students may keep closer to shore and shallow waters if they do not know the bubble head charm.

If your character needs help, there are ever vigilant eyes of the Professors keeping on the lookout. Wave a hand or send some sparks out and help will be on the way. [Please, no one drown.]

Wasn't all of this just AWESOME?

Miss Puff prefect thought so, and it showed. Heh. She made her way across the grounds at dangerous speeds, slowing only when she reached all of the attractions, and coming to a standstill to take it all in. It was like a carnival! Or something of that nature.

Either way, she was excited and there was no way she was going to start one without first wandering around. It did take her a while considering how spread out the games were, but she wasn't bothered.

She WAS fascinated with this one task though. Standing at the water's edge, she staaared at the still waters, almost as if she were hoping to spot one of the treasure chests.

Nate sees someone already over here. He goes up to the person and asks "Whats the bubble head charm?" Nate wanted to know so he could go deeper into the water to get a treasure chest. And to explore the black lake as well.

Well, well, well. This seemed just as much of a challenge as the dueling tent did. He crouched down and looked into the water hoping to see any Treasure chests. Instead all he saw was some algae at the top and really really dark water.

He got to his hands and put his head dangerously close to the water for better seeing, only the algae and really really really dark water was just closer now.

He sat back and looked at the sky smiling, Oakey was definitely doing this one. He couldn't wait any longer.

Not knowing where to go first, Kurumi had simply stood gawking at everything for an unrecorded period of time before deciding to check out the Magical Treasure Plunge first. Walking through the crowd of students, Kurumi spotted Arya standing on the edge and debating sneaking up behind her and surprising her, but Kurumi decided against this. Could end very badly.

"Hey Arya, fancy a swim?" she asked, peering into the water.

Totally awesome! That's what he thought of the treasure chest plunge! He loved to dive, his father had taken him on a dive off the coast of Madagascar the summer before he turned 13. His mum had gone for a bit, but didn't like the ocean water much so had stayed on the island after making sure Isaac had understood the bubble head charm, and could do it flawlessly.

His eyes twinkling with excitement, as he approached the lake and where the diving was to happen, he looked over the area, before wading out. He wasn't too worried about the bubble head charm, it was more about what he'd find under water that worried him. Tracing the circle around his mouth and nose the bubble appeared around his mouth with the incantation he muttered. Wading out a little more, he just wished he knew how to warm himself since the water was so cold.

Finally diving under the surface Isaac kicked his feet hard diving out into the depths of the lake.

There was a Fandango! A Fandango! And fandangos were supposed to be FUN right? And fun was definitely in Beezus vocabulary.. And that was the reason she was here beside the lake. She was very excited for all the activities but the first one which caught her attention was the Magical Treasure..something.

She ran back to the castle and changed into a comfortable suit for swimming, shorts and a shirt would do. After changing she hurried back towards the lake and as she was running rather fastly, she couldn't stop her feet. She came rushing down into the bank.

The boy fell on the lake because of Beezus accidentally pushing him since she couldn't control her feet anymore. "Sorry!" She said quickly as she leaned forward.

Oakey was so busy looking at the sky. He wasn't paying attention to anything that was happening around him. He was just basking in nice October weather.

He didn't get to enjoy very long though, Just as soon as he turned to see who was running did he find himself landing into the Lake. Who ever shoved him into the lake just gave him a good head start. Taking his wand out from his robe pocket he cast Lumos silently to give himself a better look while underwater. Yup there were a ton of Treasure chests down in the lake alright. He pinpointed the one he'd go for then came back up for air.

Crawling out he saw the girl who had pushed him in. She was apologizing. It's fine. Oakey told her. Accidents happen looking down he noticed that his clothes were now sopping wet. I guess I'll just make due with what I've got here No point in running back to the castle now, to get his swim trunks.

Kicking harder Isaac swam even deeper into the lake. He saw shadows ahead that moved slowly as if luring him closer. Knowing better though he swam off to his left diving down deep. Below him was grassy weeds and he needed to get through those to get to the bottom of the lake where he was to find the treasure chests. Hoping to do so without cutting away any of the weeds, he pushed them apart as he swam deeper into the murky water.

Something caught his foot! Kicking he tried to free himself and turn over onto his back, his eyes showed fear, with not knowing what it was that had gotten him. Whatever it was clung harder and wrapped even more around his foot as he struggled to free it. It was too dark to tell! Reaching down he felt something slimy wrapped around it, tugging he yanked and kicked to free himself from whatever it was!

"Really..Sorry.." she told him with a chuckle as she took out her wand. "Well..see you underwater." And then she dived. She was pretty good at swimming so to say. Her cousin, Dylan was on their school's swim team and he had taught her amidst all the annoying talk.

Once she was underwater, she looked around, hoping that she won't be facing any creature while she was there. It seemed like the whole lake was swarmed with treasure chests because every side she looked, there were treasure chests thought she gotta admit that they were a bit on the deep part.

Seeing one that was not placed into the deeper part, she plunged and kicked forward. It was a chance. The treasure chest was only a breath away.

Treasure chest plunge! Meaning underwater treasure hunt? How exciting! Ira could not contain her excitement at all the wonderful games! Oh she would definitely try this one!

Ira loved to swim, she loved to dive and explore the underwater flora. It was beautiful. But she really couldn't stay underwater for more than 10 seconds! So how to participate in this game?

Then she remembered! Charms! She could use the bubble head charm. She tried remembering it. She had read about it in summer but couldn't exactly recall it. Ah! Now she remembered it! She muttered the incantation and did the appropriate wand movement and bubble appeared. She then plunged inside the water!
SPLASH!!

There. The treasure chest was in front of Beezus' eyes. She kicked harder and reached out, holding her breath. Just then brittle fingers appeared in front of her. It was a small grindylow. Perplexed by the sight, Beezus almost lost air so she headed back to the surface to breathe. "Grindylow.." she shuddered in between gasps and sharp intakes of air.

But she needed to get the treasure chest, so clutching her wand tightly on her right hand. She dived back again. This time, she couldn't see the Grindylow yet she still plastered on her mind the spell she needed if ever the water demon would appear again. BUT..she was underwater! How could she say the incantation when she was underwater?!

Seems like her nightmares had come to life because not long after she dived back and swam towards the same treasure chest, the grindylow came into sight. Beezus held her breath and firmly grasped her wand. No incantations but maybe concentration would do. The young Ravenclaw aimed her wand on the creature and thought hard. As hard as she could about the relashio spell that Professor Williamson had taught them. Then, a faint spark emerged from her wand and hit the grindylow! It rocketed away!

Of course she was surprised that it worked but it was no time for that. She needed to pull the treasure chest immediately. And so, Beezus hurriedly stuffed her wand into her pocket and clasped the handles of the chest. Then with utmost strength, she kicked hard and swam back up to the surface. She continued swimming towards the bank of the lake and pushed the chest up on dry land as she said, "I got a treasure.." Cough. "...chest!"

Oakey took out his wand and with tapping his wand to his soaked clothes they transfigured into the coolest wetsuit ever (got to have that Hufflepuff pride right?)! Diving in he looked around again for a moment to make sure his treasure chest was still where he had seen it.

Yup it was still sitting in it's spot waiting for Oakey to go and retrieve it. Wand in hand, he silently cast the bubble-head charm on himself. He swam deeper until he reached his chest. getting a good grip on the chest he pulled but it wouldn't budge! Come on you stupid chest! he aggressively thought at the treasure chest! But nothing, he tugged harder and harder until It finally let itself loose.

With the chest in hand he began swimming to the surface to claim his prize.

Although Nate did not know the bubble head charm he still decided to go into deeper water. He got changed into his swimsuit. He walked up to the water and jumped in. It made a splash. Nate started to look around to see if there were any chests. There was none. He had to go back up for air. So he did that.

He went back down. This time he started swimming around. Out of no where he felt something grab him by his ankle. He looked to see that it was the long fingers of a gryndilow. He tried to shake it of, but that didn't work. All it did was tempt the thing to bite him. He took out his wand and started to jab at it. Since he didn't know any spells. He started to swim up. He got to the surface and screamed "Help! A need a spell to get rid of a gryndilow."

The gryndilow pulled him back down he was trying his hardest to stay alive. All he could do is wait for help. He tried to go back up but the gryndilow kept pulling him down. Then he started pokeing it again. It still didn't work. He went back up and screamed "Help! I need a spell to get rid of a gryndilow." Again it pulled him back down.

He started to look around under the water, and he saw a chest. He started to swim toward the chest. The gryndilow still had a hold of him. He just kept swimming. Once he reached the chest he banged the gryndilow against it. After about 3 times of banging it against the chest it finally let go of it's grip. Nate then quickly grabbed the chest. It wouldn't buge. He pulled and puled. It finally got loose. He managed to pull it out of it's spot. He swam up to the surface of the water carrying the chest. then he came up out of the water and swam towards the shore with the chest. He made it to the shore safe and sound with the chest.

Zhenya walked up to the lake where there was a Macigal Treasure Plunge. She couldn't take her clothes off fast enough. She was wearing her bathing suit, which she was very thankful for. She was a very good swimmer, but didn't think she could hold her breath long enough to delve into the deeper areas, so she noted to herself that she would just try her hardest not to be pulled under by anything.

She took a small jump and plunged into the water. She had taken her wand, just in case she encountered anything that wanted to pull her under. She took a giant breath and went under the water. She almost took a breath in at the sight - it was lovely. She was lucky she had dived into an area which was shallow. There were lots of colourful plants and fish in her vision, and.... something she wasn't sure about...

She resurfaced and took another deep breath. Underneath, she took a swim towards a bright red plant. Then she was back up on the surface coughing. She had breathed under water - but it wasn't her fault. Something had tickled her!! She had to swim further away above water, still coughing and laughing as her feet were being tickled. Then she gasped out loud and wad dragged backwards. It had wrapped itself around her ankle and was tickling her. She was getting worried. She ducked under water to see what she could do, and she noticed a golden chest just at the bottom, a few plants away. She remembered that some plants want you to relax, so she tried that. It worked, and the plant unwrapped itself from her. She slowly swam in the opposite direction...

Having been keeping a lookout for the first few minutes ABOVE water, Medea sighed and decided it was time she actually went into the water herself. Most of the kids didn't come up for a few minutes, and it kinda worried her that one wouldn't come up at all eventually. Already having her swim gear on, she cleared her throat a little and moved away from the kids, casting a bubble head charm on herself as she did so.

There was no point in interfering with their fun. Not yet anyhow. She didn't HAVE to be in the middle of it. Too bad she had to be in the water too. For the love of Merlin, she didn't want pruned fingers! They were the absolute worst!

Moving into the lake, once she was close enough to the deep end, the Professor jump in, and didn't come up. Nope. Time to make sure nothing made the kiddies stay down in the water longer than they needed to be.

OOC: Remember, make 3 posts (including getting by 1 obstacle) for 1 hand sized treasure chest.

Arabella-Marie was walking past the lake when she saw students doing something fun and she walked over wondering what was going on and then she reliased that they were going to look for treasure and she walked forward ready to take part and she stood at the edge of the lake for a few minutes and then she took her clothes off and waded into the lake and had her wand by her side in case she needed it and she took a deep breath and plunged under the water and saw the chest that she was looking for and quickly came up for some air and then dived under again and swam towards the chest when a couple of grindylows tried to grab her and she fought the grindylows and got her wand out and then she swam away continuing towards the chest and put her wand away and swam towards her destination ...

It took just a few more kicks to reach the top of the lakes surface. I've got a Tre... was all he was able to get out when a Grindylow popped up up from the otherside of the treasure chest! Damn thing! Get off my treasure!, Must've been why it was so hard to pick it up. He swung the chest around furiously to get the Grindylow off of it, but thing little demon wouldn't let go! Oakey reached for his wand to petrify the creature but it had anticipated this and jumped from the treasure chest to Oakey's face.

From the surprise of the Grindylow latching onto his face Oakey tossed the chest a shore, he would grab it later, and claim his prize. The Grindylow forced Oakey back underwater and they began to struggle! With one hand Oakey desperately tried toss the little beast from his face. while the other tired to get a good shot at the beast with his wand Petrificus Totalus it missed Petrificus Totalus this one almost hit himself, we can't have that happen! He then tried Relashio! miss Petrificus Totalus this one was still no good! Relashio! again another miss! This Grindylow was not letting go!

Oakey then started gasping for air! He hadn't realized it but the little cretin had popped his Bubble-Head charm when it latched onto him! With much trouble and struggle Oakey desperately swam for air again, while still fighting the Grindylow on his face!...

After she had swam into the medium-depth (not too deep) she took another breath and dived under. She was engulfed in another plant. She almost rolled her eyes, if she hadn't been terrified! She looked at the plant - it looked black but she was sure it was green. It was probably a shadow of something. She racked her brain to try and remember something, some spell or technique to use when plants try to drag you under. It wasn't hurting her at all, and she didn't want to harm it with a spell that shouldn't be used, so she tried to remain calm. Maybe that was the trick? She cast "Lumos" to get a better look at the plant, and as soon as she did that it released her. She wasn't sure if it was the light from lumos or the relaxing which had done it. Probably the relaxing... it wasn't as if it was fire or... Devil's Snare.

She cast "Nox" because she didn't want to disturb any of the life under water. She went for another swim around, trying to look for a chest near her. As soon as she started swimming, she started panicking. She hadn't taken a breath. She came back up and gasped to catch her breath. A moment later, she took another bit breath and dived under.

After swimming away from the grindylows, Arabella-Marie could still see the chest but she could see that there were more grindylows lurking below her and plus this part of the lake was dark she went up to the surface and took a deep breath while on the surface of the lake she cast the bubble head charm so make breathing deep down a bit easier and saw that the grindylows were coming after her still and she swam faster towards the chest and cast lumos to see where she was going and saw that there was more than just grindylows trying to distract her from her task ....

Oakey was so very close to the surface again, but the little devil still wouldn't let him go! Managing to reach the surface he took in a deep breath and shouted in a muffled tone RelaFio!(Relashio) at the Grindylow, this one was also a miss the Grindylow then started to scratch at his face! Aaagarblargh! He shouted as the Grindylow forced him back under!

If I could get to the shore I might be able to get a good hit on it! Oakey managed a decent thought while all the action was occuring. Gripping the Grindylow with his hand he quickly swam to the surface then the shore! The Grindylow was not happy to be out of it's environment and started lashing at Oakey more furiously! Crawling out He steadied his wand and shouted PetrificuF TotaluF(Petrificus Totalus)! The Grindylow froze on his face. It didn't fall but it had stopped at least. With very little sight because of the Grindylow Oakey spotted where he tossed his treasure chest! he darted towards it and picked it up! I GAH MY TREAFURE CHEFT!(I got my treasure chest!)

Arabella-Marie was so close to getting the treasure chest and she fought her way through the grindylows that were trying to drag her deeper into the lake and she cast a charm that made the grindylows swim away from her angerily and she knew that she had to get the chest and get to the surface before they returned and she swam to the chest and got a hold of it and swam slowly back to the surface keeping an eye out for anything that would grab hold of her and took a big breath as she got out of the lake and dragged the chest to the shore and said "I got my treasure chest" Arabella-Marie was pretty proud with how she did even though she had a few cuts from where the grindylows were grabbing her

Zhenya had just gone back under the water when a gold gleam caught her eye. She dived towards it, but it was too deep. She had to come back up for breath, but by the time she went back under it had gone... She frowned, and looked around but didn't see anyone re-surfacing.

She swam a few strides the way of the Red plant and dived under. She saw one not too far away from her, which was free from other plants which might wrap themselves around her. She went deeper and deeper, with her lungs full of air. Her hand wrapped around it, and she picked it up. She was pretty happy by her efforts, and she resurfaced, swimming towards the grass. She pulled herself out of the water and opened it up to look!

"I got a tre-" A plant like substance wrapped itself around both of his ankles and pulled him under. After he was under he saw it was a merperson controling some weird type of seaweed. It said "Give me back my tresure and you may live." "No I can't. Now get off." Nate pointed his wand at the seaweed and said "Stupefy." Unfortunately he had to drop the chest, which allowed the merperson to get it. Now he had to deal with a merperson. Oh this was not going to be a pretty site.
