| | |  Gobstones Championship: Slytherin vs Hufflepuff
Perhaps it was just her, but it seemed like Slytherin and Hufflepuff played each other a bit in Gobstones. Slytherin notoriously having many strong Gobstones players. As Josephina entered the court area for the final match of the term, she inspected the court to make sure things were up to par with the regulations.
Content with the appearance of things, she removed the twin bags from her tote, one with green stones and the other yellow, as she waited for the players to arrive.
Upon seeing a few players from each house, she nodded respectively to both houses, handing them their respective colored stones before placing the large Jack Stone carefully in the middle. "You've read the rules. Horseplay and cheating will not be tolerated. Good luck." | |

Two rather talented third years released their stones first; The green stone released by Daichi Katharos, which rolled quickly and steadily along .... it seemed well enough roll. Alyssa Potter rolls for the badgers, who's yellow stone rolls just as efficiently .... and perhaps it was from the strength in her arms from beating bludgers in quidditch, but the yellow stone rolled to a stop just inches closer to the Jack Stone.

Oh good. Her motivational look toward Daichi to keep trying seemed to work, as the third year he-snake rolled his green stone onto the court.... only to be countered once more by third year badger, Alyssa.
The yellow stone led the way toward the center, as they both rolled to a stop, almost equally away from the Jack Stone. In fact, it was so close that Josephina had to pull out a tape measure to see whether they really were equal distances away. To which they weren't. Yellow was just a smidgen closer and thus Hufflepuffs take the point!
ooc: this session will finish at the conclusion of round two, to which we'll continue with round 3 tomorrow evening (~8pm EST). And then pre-noon EST on Saturday for 4th round and later....

ooc: Just for reference, Smethwyk is technically the correct spelling, and even though spelling does matter (had one house gotten the correct spelling they'd have gotten it), since both houses added a 'c' and it's understandable what they meant, the first house who answered gets it....

Fortunately the players actually seemed to be paying more attention to the game than she was, as just as she motioned for them to go, their stones were already connected to the court and rolling steadily toward the middle. The green one rolled by Slytherin Prefect, Miss Zabini-Riddle, this time which rolled fast and steady .... and to a stop in a hard to surpass position right near the Jack Stone.
But alas, with Alyssa's growing skill in her aim of shooting the stone toward the Jack Stone, her yellow stone reached the middle first .... and just a smidgen closer.
Hufflepuffs take another point!
