A section of the lake has been especially set up for a round of Giant Lilypad Jumping. The Victoria Amazonica has been grown especially for the event and have been strategically arranged at the edge of the lake. The water here is relatively shallow, so you do not run the risk of drowning or being dragged beneath the surface by the lakes inhabitants.

Each of the lilypads are numbered, and each of them also have a value assigned to them. These may vary from one point to four points, and the aim of the game is to make it across the lake from the starting position to the finishing line at the opposite end where you jump back onto dry land. Everyone wins a prize, but depending on the number of points you accumulate will determine how good a prize you receive.

Though it may seem easy enough you should tread carefully. The lilypads might be big, and are certainly capable of holding your weight, but they are also slightly slippery and a little springy underfoot. At any rate if you do fall in the late and get wet, then it will be a refreshing wake up call. If this happens, just pull yourself back up and have another crack --even if you are wet.

Be sure to pace yourselves as this task is quite a feat, especially considering the sheer size of these GIANT lilypads. Balance is key. Good luck competitors.

SPOILER!!: Prizes!

The Rules:
This is an RP game, and you are required to RP your character crossing the section of lake by jumping across the lilypads.

You must do this in 11 jumps! 10 jumps onto lilypads and the last one back onto dry land.

You may not use magic to gain an advantage or to disadvantage others.

You may not interfere with anyone else's jumping.

You MUST not exceed 10 lilypads-- this will result in disqualification.

This must be done in 5 RP posts of at least one paragraph in length (about 4 lines).

When jumping onto the lilypads you must state in the RP what number the lily has been assigned (not the value-- only staff members know what the value is)

The lilypads you are jumping to and from MUST be touching, whether they are side by side or diagonal. (See the map provided)

The prizes will be announced at the end of the event.

Most importantly, have fun.

Seren was seated in a rather comfortable high chair-- sort of like those things muggle safe livers sat in at the beach. She could understand why they would. After all you could see sharks from a mile away up here.

But she wasn't here to look for sharks, no she was keeping score... if there was something to keep score of. Surely the students wanted to jump and climb over these amazing lilypads... and win AWESOME prizes.

Twirling her quill between her fingers, she waited for the students to arrive and participate.

Lily pads were cool. Yes. They were like things that floated in the water and didn't sink - which was cool. Selena had left Kent in her dormitories as punishment for eating someone's snot. Clarke was squirming in her arms. She had called off the deal with the cruppy as soon as he chewed on her scarf. She had liked her Slytherin scarf... it was rather... Slytherin-y.

"Hello Professor Bentley!" Selena said, smiling at the herbology professor. "How are you doing today?" she asked, as she looked at the giant lily pads. Because those sure looked like fun jumping on and stuff. Was that what they were supposed to do? Jump on lily pads? Would they fall?! Selena didn't wanna fall. She didn't fancy drowning. At all. "Cool chair," she added. Because it was epicaltasticness. Selena wondered if she won this game, if she would be allowed a chance to sit in it.

It looked like fun sitting in such a chair. Clarke squirmed in her arms, trying not to get close to the water. Silly cruppy.

And with that, Selena approached the first lily pad, jumping onto one of them. Looking down she saw the number three. Eh, wondered what that was all about. With that, she slowly made her way onto the lily pad labeled seven. Clarke continued to squirm. "Calm down, Clarke, you'll mess me up," Selena said, frowning.

Nate goes over and reads the rules. Nate goes over to the starting line. "Ok so which one should I pick? Hmm let's see I have a good feeling about number 4. But I also have a good feeling about number 2. Hmm I'll go with number 4 because 4 is my lucky number after all." Nate steps back a bit and starts to run. Before he reached the edge of the lake he jumps and lands on the fourth lilypad. He was very happy he didn't miss and fall into the water. He was hoping he made a good choice about which lilypad to jump on. He crossed his fingers. He was wondering what the professor was going to say about that. Hopefully it wasn't to low. He really wanted a good prize. But if he got a low number it didn't matter to him.

Harlow was totally intrigued by the game they were about to play. Jumping lilies across the lake! Well it wouldn't be fun if she fell into the lake. Since she was smaller than more she was sure the little bit of water could actually drown her, but it was a good thing she knew how to swim.

She pulled her hair back and secured it with an elastic band. So instead of a mass of brown curls she had a short poof at the back of her head. Harlow slipped her wand into holster at her hip and prepared to jump. SHe took a running start and jumped as far as she could and landed on 1.

The lily pad swayed and shrank under her feet, but it held. Harlow stood up on shaky legs. The lake water didn't look the cleanest and something darted from under her pad out into the deep of the water.

She bounced a few times and jumped onto the number 6 pad. She jumped too far and had to cartwheel her hands to keep from tumbling headfirst into the lake. "Holy pudding cup." she breathed plopping down on the the pad to catch her breath.

Nate was ready to jump again. He had to catch his breath. He decided to jump on the number 7. He had a plan in his head he was going to go 4, 7, 8, 11, 12. So on and so on until he made it to the finish which he was hoping he would make it ther soon. Since he wanted to go to some other stations. Like the hippogriff hundred yard dash. He wanted to see what that was all about. He also wanted to duel really badly. He wanted to do this one first though because it seemed to interest him. So anyways he jumped again lucky to not fall into the water. "Yes I made it." He was really happy.

This was weird. It was like walking on water - Selena had never done that before and with Clarke squirming, Selena kept feeling like she was going to topple over. She struggled to stay on her two feet on the current lily pad before looking at the next one. Eleven... that should be safe. She was on lily pad seven now, how hard would it be? Selena jumped onto eleven, ripples on the water almost knocked her off of her feet. Dangerous game, this was. Selena wavered a bit, and Clarke continued to bark and squirm, unhappy with the current situation. Sighing, Selena looked for the next one to jump on. Fourteen seemed relatively safe too.

Selena hopped onto that one, and almost fell off, once again, catching herself before she toppled over and flipped over or something. She swayed again. This definitely felt weird. By now, Clarke was squirming more furiously and it was just getting on Selena's nerves. She would have to finish this soon. Hopefully. Now... how much further?! Selena didn't like walking on water anymore... it meant falling - something she was not prepared for.

Nate being lucky the first two times jumped to the next number which was 8. He waited a few seconds to catch his breath because jumping from lilypad to lilypad isn't as easy as it seem. Well now he knows how frogs feel. Then he jumped to 11. Uh-oh he slipped, but he quickly caught his balance and managed to not fall into the lake. Nate was on a roll. Nate was almost there. He just had to hop on to a few more lilypads and he would be done. He would also if it doesn't happen get to say he did this without falling into the water. He then said "This is so amazing." He was thinking it was basically what the muggles would think walking on water. This was a basic muggle game he thought.

This looked like so much fun! He loved lily pads because they were fun to bounce on, but to put them into a game??? WOOHOOOO! Lining up at the starting line Isaac nibbled on his lip trying to decide which one he wanted to jump onto first. Taking his first jump he landed smack in the middle of Lily Pad 3. Easy enough! He figured he had this down, and took a second jump to Lily Pad 7.

That jump however had him wobbling, having taken way too much of a jump into the air and coming down hard, nearly slipping off the side! Waving his arms around he caught his balance. Eyeing his next one he waited til his lilypad he was on stopped swaying.

Isabelle looked at the giant lilypads to jump on. FUN!!!! She carefully read the rules then took off her shoes. She walked over until she was directly in front of lilypad number one. Taking a deep breath she got close to it, then jumped slightly landing on Lilypad Number One. It was a little squishy, and definitely slippery. That would be an added challenge. Making sure she didn't accidentally fall off of the lily pad.

Looking ahead Isabelle decided that she would jump onto Number five next. Carefully estimating the distance. Using the lilypad she was on as a slight spring, but not to much because she didn't want to overshoot, she jumped once on the lilypad she was on then jumped forward falling onto Lilypad Number Five. She was on her hands and knees on it, but luckily she didn't fall off. Isabelle stopped for a moment and took a deep breath to calm herself before standing up.

Once Harlow was sure she wasn't going to fall in and her heart rate had slowed she stood up and looked around for the next landing pad. With the other students jumping the water was rippling and the lily pads were swaying.

Good thing she wasn't that tall.

Harlow looked at the pad she wanted to jump on making sure it was right in her crosshairs. She bounced on her pad a few times and launched herself through the air and landed on number 10 and promptly fell over onto her butt. She was glad the pad was soft. If it had been the ground she would have tears in her eyes.

She pushed herself up and off the pad the readied for the next jump. Her pad was riding the gentle waves created by the other students jumping. "Now or never," she muttered to herself and got a small running jump onto the pad. Numer 15. Her momentum carried her right over the edge of the pad and headfirst into the freezing lake water.

The tiniest splashed followed her little display. Harlow splashed and thrashed in the water till her head broke the surface. "COLD!" she shouted scrambling out of the water and back onto the pad. She hadn't been prepared to go into the lake and the temperature scared her. Rivets of water ran down her small frame and she was on her hands and knees on the pad sputtering water. "Lake water!" she squealed making sure she got all of the water out of her system.

After her little water hissy fit she calmed down long enough to shake herself off and stand up. Harlow was not keen on landing in the lake again. She stood and took a few deep breaths. She didn't want to end up back in the water, but Harlow squared her shoulders and jumped again landing on 19.

Kennedy wandered off to the Lilypad area. It seemed like fun and...Professor Bentley was there. He went to the start line and pondered on which lilypad he was going to jump onto first. He tapped his chin and just decided to go for a random one, but before jumping he turned back.

"Hi, Professor Bentley!" And now that he had greeted her, Kennedy was ready to go through this obstacle course.

He jumped on Lilypad number 3 and crouched down so his height wouldn't unbalance him. He had three choices. Hmm. Six, seven or eight. He quickly decided on Lilypad number 8 because it was an even number.

This time though, he slipped, but thankfully landed face first on to the lilypad and his body sprawl on it. Well...at least he didn't fall into the lake.

He was OKAY though. No need to worry ~~Professor Bentley~~ people.

Gideon hadn't been sure what to expect from the flyer hanging up in the common room. Founder's Fandango could have meant anything by way of celebration. However upon heading down to the designated area of the school grounds, the Gryffindor was pleasantly surprised by what he saw. Taking a quick glance around at the activities, he found himself by the lake and the giant lilypads that reminded him of those used a few terms back for the prefect's obstacle course. Who knows they probably were the same or similiar.

"Good day, Professor Bentley," he greeted with a smile as he spotted his head of house perched in a raised chair to keep an eye on things. Switching his attention to the posted information, Gideon was careful to read the rules and what was expected of them before glancing over at the gathering of lilypads.

Dare he try it?

The 5th year look a look at the four nearest the shore that was the starting point to try and decipher where to begin. Finally deciding on lilypad number 2, Gideon stood on the ground at the edge in front of it before taking a leap onto the pad in question. It shifted a bit with his movement and he stumbled to compensate but he was safe and dry. His options now limited down to 3, the boy took a careful half-step/half-jump onto lilypad number 6.

Finally steady on his lilypad he jumped to the next one which was Lily Pad 11. WOAHHH! That one was even wobblier then the second one had been! Crouched down like a frog he waved back and forth back and forth as it rocked. His hands clenching the edges of the lilypad, trying desperately to stay on. Feeling himself sliding off the back he tried to balance himself by leaning forward more.

TOO MUCH! His eyes widening he slid back just a teeny bit, then a teeny bit more. Sighing with relief he felt the pad finally starting to level out again. Pouncing to the next one with the frog position, he landed on the next one Lily Pad #15 easily.

WOOT! There was a Giant Lilypad Jumping competition around? Heh. Jumping was exciting so Beezus went there of course. After reading the rules, she saw Professor Bentley on a high-chair. For sure, she was the one who'd take note of all those who participate and to keep score.

"Professor Seren! Good day!" she greeted before running towards the lake where the BIG lilypads were set up.

And one, two, three! JUMP!!
"Whoa..Whoa!" Beezus immediately pulled herself together. She hadn't thought that the lilypads were in fact slippery. She managed to pluck out the courage from her when she jumped from the Lilypad 3 to Lilypad 7.

Ohh. This looked really fun. Like a giant game of leap frog. And Amelia did so love leap frog. But first she'd need to know what the rules were. They were the most important thing after all.

Walking closer to the sign Amelia made sure to memorize what she needed to do before walking back over to the lakes edge. "Hullo Professor," she chirped as she walked past to finally select her lilypad. Now hopefully she wouldn't fall into the water on her first attempt...

Amelia took a few steps back, took a deep breath, and on the exhale she ran back up to the edge of the lake, closed her eyes, and jumped. She only opened them when she felt herself landing on a lilypad. Looking down she noted that she was on number four. Now which one to go to next...

Her choices were limited, but Amelia decided that she would jump onto number 8. Or at least attempt too.

Walking closer to the edge of the lilypad she was currently standing on Amelia leaped onto number seven. She landed perfectly. Thankfully.

Amelia liked games and this seemed to be a fun one by the looks of it, so she decided to try. Hopefully she wouldn't fall off of a lily pad and get her clothes wet though.

"Hello, Professor Bentley," she said as she saw her teacher. She made her way to the starting line, and decided to just jump on a random lily pad.

Looking down at her feet, she saw that she had landed on #3. Right, now to go on to the next one.

She jumped onto #7.

Okay, Beezus. Hold yourself together. She told herself as she kept her balance. It shouldn't be so hard right? Since Quidditch needed balance and she did Quidditch. So, she took one sharp breath. She needed to get a move on right or else she would lose her balance.

"Okay..one, two..ahh!" Beezus exclaimed as she jumped from Liliypad 7 and landed on Lilypad 10 and without hesitation she bent once more and jumped again! This time she landed on Lilypad 11..

Amelia really wanted to land on the lilypad that was labeled #14. Because she liked the number 14.

There were a few ways to do this, but she wanted to pick the fastest route available to her in order to not waste lilypads or to get herself stuck into a corner. She didn't want to do anything that could potentially get her disqualified, and she really wanted on that pad. :3

Seeing that it was probably the best route for her to just jump on lilypad #10, she did just that. Perfect.

With another hop from lilypad #10, she landed on lilypad #14.

Four jumps down, six to go.

Oh. I was like walking on water and Beezus was getting sort of dizzy as the jumping went on. She hopes though that she could still make it until the end of the lilypad course without getting wet. She was not going to entertain the idea of swimming in the lake thrice that day.

She was currently on the Lilypad 11 and as she looked around, she chose the closest lilypad next to her and JUMP! off to the Lilypad 15.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" she exclaimed suddenly as she slipped slightly upon her landing. Balance and concentration Beezus. Balance and concentration, she reminded herself.

And with another breath intake, she determinedly hopped into the next closest lilypad..

Wibble. Wibble.. She was standing uneasily at Lilypad 18.

Amelia was thinking herself rather blessed right now because she was like six feet tall and had long legs. It meant that she didn't have too much trouble getting the distance in her jumps. Though there were a few times where she had felt that she was a little more near the edge than she really wanted to be.

And that's why she decided to just make an easy jump for her next one and not go diagonal. Launching herself from the lilypad now, she landed on #15. From here it was a matter of figuring out her best course. She would have to do a diagonal...

She braced herself, and leaped onto lilypad #18.

Still trying to hold herself together as she was standing on Lilypad 18, Beezus got surprised when suddenly the lilypad she was standing on sort of moved, scampered and was suddenly feeling like it was unbalanced. She looked in time to see that there was also another student who was on the same lilypad as her.

Her knees started shaking. If she didn't jump now, she'd lose her balance. And so, with all her might, she jumped on the next lilypad, Lilypad 22. A small splash followed then she looked back at the student earlier. "I'm sorry..but please don't go on jumping to a lilypad while a student is still there or at least notify the student first before you jump," she said and with one powerful jump, she landed on Lilypad 26.

Lily pad Jumping? What was it? Ira hadn't ever heard about this one..

She saw Professor Bentley seated comfortably. "Hi Professor Bentley." Ira wished smiling. She then went over to read the rules. She was becoming a little excited for this. This game sure looked like fun!

What was the danger in this? She knew how to swim! So right on! And even if she fell into the lake, she could always restart again, right?

She readied herself, put her wand in its holster which was secured to her waist and took off. She first decided to go on number 3. Plop! Hehe.. It was so fun! She had to steady herself so that she wouldn't fall off!

Then now the next one... which one? Ira crossed over to number 8 lily pad. "Wow! This is so much fun!" she exclaimed to herself.
