Rules are made for a reason. For your safety and the safety of others. Not to mention the sanity of the Professors and Staff of Hogwarts. If you find yourself in this particularly smelly dungeon room, then you must have broken a rule and need punishment. Take this time to learn the rules.

Headmaster Tate entered the room behind the girl at a fast clip, his long legs eating up floor until he was nearly upon her. Instead, he circled the girl and let the door slam shut behind him. "Have a seat."

Alyssa sat down as instructed and when the Headmaster asked her what she had done, she told him."I was sent here because I was worried about my friend who was admitted to the hospital wing, and I broke the rules because I forgot to sign the visitors log requesting permission to visit him and I entered the wing without permission. Then when Healer Cece asked me to leave and bring the younger students to her, I told her that I wouldnt because I didn't want them to be punished. I didn't mean to be disrespectful to the Healer and I'm very sorry that I was. I am very sorry for all my actions that brought me here."

"Yeah." Tate nodded his head, considering her words. Most of them made no sense, and he was sure the Healer wasn't punishing people for visiting (or the dungeon would be full) and she couldn't be upset about the register, because younger students tended to forget formalities.
But disrespect? He got that. "But are you sorry because you got in trouble, or are you sorry because your actions were hurtful to the Healer?"

Alyssa listened to what the Headmaster had to say before she answered. "I am sorry that I got into trouble because that brought dishonour to my House, Headmaster. But I am more sorry that my actions were hurtful to the Healer. I really and honestly am sorry that I upset her. She didn't need someone to be disrespectul to her especially this being her first year here."Alyssa told the headmaster, bowing her head in shame.

"Hmm." Tate was... sort of convinced at her sincerity, and he plopped into one of the seats in the room and propped his feet up on another thoughtfully.
"You ought to prove to her how sorry you are. Like... you ought to do something really spectacularly kind for the Healer to show her that you understand she works hard and you know she is the authority and when she says you should go do something, you just go and do it and you like it. Right? Doesn't that seem reasonable?" So like... this would be a good time for her to think of something spectacularly kind.

Alyssa looked up when she heard the Headmaster's suggestion. "Yes I would like to do something that would let the Healer know that she is really amazing at her work and that she is the authority and whatever she tells me to do, I should do it without questioning her orders or directions.
Headmaster, if the Healer is not allergic to flowers, I would love to bring her flowers to decorate her office and help brighten it up even more. I also know that after a long day of taking care and healing the students, it must be tiring for her to have to remove the bed linen and replace them with new ones, plus then have to make sure that the waiting room is clean as well. I would like to request to be allowed to help her clean up after each patient has been healed and sent back to the castle. Or if she had any other chores for me to do in the hospital wing, I would be happy to do it." Alyssa hoped that her suggestion was satisfactory.

She was certainly not grasping the fact that her way of making good with Cece was going to have to happen within these four stone walls. They were in the dungeons and not going to lark off on a field trip anytime soon.
"Something from you, perhaps, and not flowers plucked from the greenhouse. And as for making beds, I'm not sure your assistance is required in the Hospital Wing, and certainly not doing menial tasks that could be done perfectly and in a moment by a spell." Not to mention Cece wouldn't have to fish Hufflepuff out of her hair.
"What are your talents, Potter? What can you give of yourself that no one else can give?"

Alyssa thought for a moment. What talents did she have? Computer hacking but that wasn't going to be very useful here in Hogwarts. Then Alyssa realized that she had another talent. Writing!! So she looked up at the Headmaster and replied. "Headmaster. I could write an essay about the qualities of a good Healer, like her were and that how their hardworkand dedication have been often overlooked in the past. I would write that I admire her dedication and undying devotion to treating and taking care of those who couldn't take care of themselves. I would ask that the essay be posted on the walls of the Hospital Wing, so that others could read it and be thankful that they had her to help them." Alyssa hoped that this suggestion would be more acceptable to the Headmaster.

Reason: Apologies. Accidentally hit the post button

"Yes, I think writing her something would be very nice. But not an essay... this isn't a class. A letter. Of apology. Perhaps rhyming would be nice," Tate stroked his chin thoughtfully. Hm. Perhaps he should grow a beard to be more Headmaster-y. HMMM.
"Do you really have flowers? Not from the greenhouses, I mean."

"Do you really have flowers? Not from the greenhouses, I mean."
Alyssa brightened up when the Headmaster suggested that she write the Healer an apology letter, one that hopefully rhymed. "Yes Headmaster. I can definitely do that. I'll start right now. As for the flowers, uh! I had some that I was going to give Professor Lafay but I could always give it to Healer Cece instead. Or once I'm allowed to leave detention, I could go take a walk on the grounds and collect some of the wildflowers that grow here. I have noticed that some are very beautiful. With your permission, I shall start writing the apology now, Headmaster." Alyssa told him.

"No, I'd prefer you didn't deface the grounds, and the Healer... you shouldn't address her by her first name, kid. Really rude. The Healer wouldn't want second hand flowers. Let's just scrap that whole idea." No flowers, then.
He summoned a quill and some parchment for the girl to begin her apology letter. "Try to avoid flowery words. Be specific about what you did wrong and what you learned."

Alyssa quickly picked up the quill and taking a parchment quickly wrote down her apology. It had to sound sincere....and rhyme. She thought for awhile and then started writing what came from her heart.
Text Cut: Alyssa's apology to the Healer
To the Healer,
I know a Healer's work is never fun,
You have to work from sunrise to way past sundown.
You heal the cuts, and fix the bones,
It's hard but you have to listen to all the complaints and moans.
You always check on your patients, and ask whether they are okay,
But people rarely come to ask you how was your day.
You could have picked any profession, something that didn't involve any noise,
But yet though you are a witch by chance, you became a Healer by choice.
I am sorry that I argued with you and refused what you wanted me to do,
I showed you great disrespect and for that, I now feel blue.
Your word is authority, and no one questions that.
You are the boss in this Hospital Wing, and that is the fact.
So please accept my apologies as I humbly offer them to you.
I promise that in the future I will do whatever you ask me to do.
For you are the Healer and I'm just a third year student.
To disobey you again, that would be downright impudent.
I have great respect for your profession, as both my grandparents are Healers too,
They too were wizards and witches by chance, but Healers by choice, like you.
So as I sit writing this apology to you here in the Criminal Cell,
I want to say that you are doing a great job and I hope that you are doing well.
From your humble and most apologetic student
Alyssa Potter
Once she was done, she lay down the quill and once the ink dried, she gave the parchment to the Headmaster

Tate took up the parchment and read through the poem a few times. Hmm. "Yes, I think this is excellent work, and you did a nice job expressing yourself. Once you are dismissed, I want you to head right up to the Owlery, and you can send this poem to the Healer from there. I don't think you should test her patience just yet."

He handed back the parchment. "Lesson learned?"
Alyssa nodded,"Yes Headmaster. I have definitely learned my lesson. I will definitely now appreciate more how hardworking each of the school staff are and I will show them the respect they deserve. They are the Professors and we are the students and we need to obey their instrctions.
Once I am released from detention I will immediately head to the Owlery and send this apology poem to her" Alyssa told the Headmaster.

"And I think, even more so, when you get into a situation, you need to think before you speak. The professors at this school are likely to listen to you if you can explain yourself calmly and precisely, but as soon as someone begins to get over excited, the credibility is gone." Tate stood and stretched out with a little yawn. Detentions were boring.
"Count to ten next time and think through what you want to say before you speak, and you'll probably come up with the right way to go about things." Got it?

"Yes Headmaster. I understand Headmaster. Count to 10 before opening my mouth and think over what I'm going to say before I say it. I have truly learned my lesson, Headmaster," Alyssa told him.

"If I see you again for any reason, Potter, I'll be taking house points. You're dismissed," Tate waved his hand at her. "Don't bother the Healer again unless you are at death's door."
Seriously. Never tick off the woman who kept you from dying.
Hecate had moved to the criminal cell and was still waiting for the child to come in. "What is taking so long, Logan. Get in here!" She scolded.
Ariana walked in to the 'criminal cell'"I wasnt aware we were in sure a rush professor." she snapped back at lafay. Ariana still didnt understand why she was in trouble. Lafay seemed to have a good time under that potion

"You seem to be under the impression that you have a say here, Logan. You do not." She said feeling her anger turn her stomach. This girl had made her sing... in front of two colleagues no less!

"Your wand." She said extending her hand.
She wanted her wand, Ariana would have fun with this. She pulled her wand out and held it between her hands as if it was on display " Well it's 11" oak with unicorn hair and a sturdy quality it's quite lovely if you ask me professor." She held it out as if to give it to Lafay and said " Go on give it a swish see how it works for you."

Cece was on a mission. She needed to find Professor Lafay... NOW! She had heard the potions mistress had a student in detention but she didn't care. The woman was needed elsewhere.
Finally finding the correct detention room Cece let herself in. "Excuse me professor. I'm sorry to interrupt but..." Moving closer to the woman she whispered in her ear.
This was an emergency after all and the woman needed to go...

Hecate's eyes went big and she nodded to the woman. Looking at the girl she said "Logan, Miss Tillstorm will be conducting your detention..." She said and then took the kid's wand and gave it to the nurse. "Be ruthless... this girl made me..." she swallowed, "...sing..."
