Transfiguration Notice Board

Hanging on the wall beside the Transfiguration classroom door, is a sturdy looking notice board covered in tacks. This is the place where you will find the information pertaining to Class Times and Homework. And anything else relating to Transfiguration that Professor Magnus thinks you might need to know.

Best keep an eye on it - wouldn't want to be late for class, or hand in an assignment late either, would we?

TRANSFIGURATION LESSON ONE

• WHEN: Thursday September 15th @ 6pm GMT (approx)
• WHERE: Transfiguration Classroom.
• WHO IS IT FOR: All years.
• ANYTHING ELSE: Bring your wands (obviously) and please be prepared to look silly....and possibly get messy.

OOC: Please make sure you read the classroom rules! If you come into the lesson after is has started just pretend like you were there the whole time. I will take points from anyone who posts their characters entrance after class has begun.

Transfiguration Homework One

You will have two options for this homework. PLEASE DO ONLY ONE OR THE OTHER, NOT BOTH. You will only receive points for one assignment.

OPTION ONE

• Draw a picture of your character with their new hairdo and colour, and in the clown costume if you wish. Also do one or two RP posts of your character practising the spells they learnt in the lesson. Can be done anywhere on the grounds. Send me the picture and links to the posts in a PM labelled 'Transfiguration Homework 1'.
  
  
  OOC: The picture has to be of your own making, either one done in Photoshop/GIMP/Paint etc...or hand drawn. I will NOT accept an image that has been taken straight from the internet and passed off as your own.

OPTION TWO

• Have your character RP practising all the spells learnt in class, in a minimum of 5 separate posts. The posts don't need to be in the same location each time. Then send the links to each post to me via PM.

Worth: 8 points.

Due: No later than 3rd October @ 2pm GMT.

• WHERE: Transfiguration Classroom.
• WHO IS IT FOR: All years - but you will be split into two groups at the start.
• ANYTHING ELSE: Bring wands and a clear and level I-will-not-make-trouble attitude. *eyes you all*

Transfiguration Homework Two

Write me a story.

• Two spells were practised in class - Incarcerous & Diffindo - I want you to write me a story that includes a scene/s where those two spells are used (they don't both need to be in the same scene). Let your imagination figure out how...it could be your heroine/hero has to use them to escape from somewhere, or even to capture an evil villain. Totally up to you.
  
  All I require is that you do 5 PARAGRAPHS MINIMUM - 5 LINES MINIMUM PER PARAGRAPH - and that you make it fun.

Worth: 15 points.

Due: No later than 1st November @ 10pm GMT.

Please include the following at the bottom of your homework:

• Character name
• Username
• House
• Year
• User ID number

Make sure you read all the RULES, especially the parts about homework and cheating.

• WHEN: Sunday November 13th @ 2pm GMT (approx)
• WHERE: Transfiguration Classroom.
• WHO IS IT FOR: All years.
• ANYTHING ELSE: Bring your wands. But if you're scared of legless animals, probably not a good idea to come. ;P

Transfiguration Homework Three

Provide 4 animal transfiguration spells (animal to animal and/or animal to object)
For each of the spells write one good length paragraph (5 sentences MINIMUM, per paragraph) telling me a situation in which you would use them to your advantage.

And also answer the following questions:

• What is a cross-species transformation?
• Why are cross-species transformations harder to do properly than regular transfiguration?

Worth: 15 points.

Due: No later than 29th November @ 10pm GMT.
