The dust didn't bother the prefect as she moved to the bench closest to the stage, and took a seat. This duel was almost over, but there were more, right? Of course. The young woman made herself comfortable.

Selina watched intently as Gideon and Lousia faced off with one another in a duel. For some odd reason her hands, that were sitting folded in her lap, twitched anxiously as each part of the duel went on. She did not want him to get hurt, he was one of her really good friends and she cared about his well being. Besides, if he even thought about getting injured she would... she would make sure that she hurt him herself! There was no need to be stressing her out anymore than she was already stressed with a trip to Hospital.

With each spell Selina flinched and watched with anticipation. Then she saw that the pair of them were both getting tired, Gideon almost seemed to have lost his wand at one point, but she was not going to get worked up over this. She was going to stay calm... yep... calm.

...she hated this.

Tori minded the dust. She took her time obnoxiously blowing off her bench and then flicked a hanky out of her wand (magic trick heheh) and dusted off her seat before sitting down.

Front and center. Near Arya but not too close, cuz she did contain Puffer germs and all that.

Was all of that really necessary?

Arya gave Tori a annoyed sidelong glance. It was JUST dust, it didn't kill.

Not caring how close the girl sat, just glad that she finally had, she turned her attention back to the stage.

Yes, actually dust DID kill people. IT WAS THE SILENT KILLER. Especially if one was allergic to dust mites and such.

"Who's winning?" Tori leaned over and whispered to the Puff Girl. "I hope it's Gryffindor."

Harlow giggled as Kourtney linked arms with her. "Yep, let's go." She lead them over to the spectator area of the dueling room. She didn't want to get hit by a stray jinx or anything.

However her face fell when she saw all the dust. DUST! DUST! Panic started to set it. Who would leave dust just lying around where anyone could come into contact with it!? She let go of Kourtney's arm. "Oh I can't sit here," she said her breath coming in short gasps. "Its so dirty." she cried with a panicked look on her face.

She reached into her purse and pulled out some handkerchiefs and a can of Quick Clean spray. She quickly set to work on cleaning up all the dust. "There's a clean spot for you Kourtney." she said once she cleaned off a good area.

The two walked over to the spectator area arm in arm. Once they reached it, Kourtney's gaze zeroed in on a good spot and she made a move to it before Harlow started...well, hyperventilating. Turning a concerned eye towards her, she blinked in surprise at the pure panic in her face.

Oh...she was worried about the dust. A relieved smile lit up her face. At least it hadn't been anything serious.

"Thanks!" She replied with a smile. "Appreciate it. Are you okay though?"

Kennedy was amazed by the duel that had just happened. It was like one of the coolest things he's witnessed in his fourteen years of life. He decided to to take a seat and watch the rest of the duels. This would serve for practice and help him become a better dueler. On his way, he spotted a familiar face, Harlow.

"Hey, Harlow," he greeted with a smile. "Do you mind if I sit here?" he asked, pointing at the chair opposite from the one she had offered the other girl.

The dust was a silent killer line only really worked when one was ACTUALLY allergic to the dust. And by the way Tori had it all up in the air trying to clean her seat, she didn't believe so.

Arya leaned over too, eyes still on the duel. "He is doing pretty good. I'm impartial to either." The prefect held a certain fondness for both houses.

Harlow nodded and she continued dusting the entire area. "Yes I'm fine. I just have a slight problem with dust." she told Kourtney. The area looked clean enough to eat off of now. She used her wand to suck up the swirling cloud of dust. She may not know how to conjure a shield, but she could clean like a demon when she had to. "No make that a problem with dirt in general." she visible shivered at the thought. Harlow sat next to Kourtney. "Now that's better." she let out a little sigh.

Harlow looked up as her name was called and she brightened at the sight of Kennedy. "Hey Kennedy." she nodded her head for him to take the seat. "Kennedy this is my new friend Kourtney and Kourtney this is my good friend Kennedy." she made the introductions all around. "How did your practice go?" she asked eyeing a dust ball under Kennedy's chair.

Kourtney nodded. She could understand that. "You're really good at that." She murmured, watching as the dust disappeared into the wand. Wow. "Agreed...at least we won't get dirty." Taking a seat, she leaned forward slightly as another student approached them.

"Hi!" She exclaimed, smiling in greeting at the boy. "Nice to meet you, Kennedy."

Having attended the meeting and all, Mina was kind of happy to not be dueling at all. Second year's events were probably more than enough for her at the moment, but that didn't mean that she wouldn't be happy to watch and cheer on a friend or two.

Noticing an empty seat on the bench near the front, she headed in that direction. She definitely needed a front row seat for this. Really, she shouldn't be that excited to see what was going to happen; but there was a part of her what wanted to see certain people get what's coming to them.

Harlow nodded, "Yes I am. I like things clean and tidy." she explained. And plus she wore a lot of white. You had to keep things clean if you wore white all the time. "Who do you think is winning?" she asked not really able to follow the duel that well. She wasn't sure what constituted winning if both people were still standing and no one was bleeding.

She smiled a Kourtney made nice with Kennedy. This was just so pleasant.

As the duel started to wind down Selina could feel her heart rate quicken even more than it was earlier. Gideon was a really good friend of hers and watching him willingly put himself in front of someone else's wand was nerve wracking to say the least. And then something extraordinary happened- he won. She had to refrain from standing up and clapping for him like she would do in Quidditch because, honestly, she did not know if it was appropriate for excessive clapping in duels. They seemed more stoic.

Just as she was about to wave him down in the spectator area to give him a hug, someone had already beaten her to it. Louisa and Gideon shook hands and then gave a brief hug. For some reason it bothered her, she couldn't put her finger on what though. All she knew was that she was currently not a huge fan of Louisa at all.

Adam had been a nervous wreck the entire time that Louisa was dueling, and even though she lost, Adam was glad to see that Louisa and her opponent were nice and cordial to one another. When Louisa's eyes made contact with his he gave her a warm smile, motioning for her to come over whenever she was free.

Walking toward the area where spectators were, Louisa's tired face beam at the sight of Adam. She quickened her pace and met him with a somewhat embarrassed smile - she had lost in front of him. "Hey.." The girl didn't wait for him to sit but flopped her body on the bench next to where he was seated. Her legs could barely held her weight anymore. Few more minutes and she should all right, though.

The flask the dwarf had given her was between her hands, unopened.

Adam gave Louisa a smile as she flopped down on the bench next to him. "You did great!" Adam said warmly, wrapping his arm around her shoulders to pull her into a sideways hug before letting go. "He was tough...do you know what year he is?" Adam figured the boy had to at least be their year if not higher since he clearly had some dueling experience. Looking down at the flask in Louisa's hand, Adam raised his eyebrows curiously. "What've you got there?"

Raven just watched the first duel, The gryffindor boy vs Ravenclaw girl. She was nervous, since she was THE ONLY FIRST YEAR STUDENT who assigned for first trial duel. Great..

Alyssa quickly entered the room. She noticed that there were already other students there. They were clearly there to cheer on their house mates because they were all wearing their house colors. Alyssa was glad that she had put on her Hufflepuff scarf. She ran over to a group of Hufflepuff students already seated. She must have missed a couple of the duels, but she was sure that there would be others.

Alyssa noticed her House prefect sitting down on one of the seats and went over to sit next to her. "I hope that this seat isn't taken. Do you mind if I join you?"

Gideon made his way down into the spectator area so he could watch the rest of the duels to take place today. His arm back to relative normalcy thanks to the elder man's spell, the only symptoms of his duel were the wearyness and the mild discomfort at his back from when he had been thrown. His gaze passed over the spectator area looking for any familiar faces and finally spotted Selina off to one side and the fourth year slowly weaved his way over to her.

Selina was glad that Louisa had decided to step off of the platform and head off into the crows before Gideon did. The girl had already caused enough trouble in Selina's opinion. Then she saw him spot her and she gave him a lopsided grin. As he made his way toward her, she walked toward him and gave him a hug. She stood a little on his shoes to make herself taller. Then she said, "You were brilliant." Then she stepped off of his shoes retreating from the quick hug and thumped him on the shoulder, "But next time be more careful. You nearly gave me a heart attack!"

Gideon saw the lopsided grin directed his way as Selina noticed his approach, he smiled and did his best to keep from laughing. It seemed so ...cute there accross the redhead's pale face.

Cute...where did that come from?

The boy returned her hug far more readily then he had with the Ravenclaw's, showing little notice of Selina's cheated stance on his feet. "Thank ye," he replied before giving a hurt expression as she hit him on the shoulder. "Oww..." he added rubbing the spot before changing it to a soft smirk as he lowered his hand to show he was playing.

"Concerned for me yet beating me up at the same time. Little confused there Skylar."

Selina crossed her arms and tossed her red hair ins joking manner when he joked that she was confusing him. With a grin she said, "Yes, exactly. I don't understand what is so foreign about the concept. It's my job to abuse you a little, no one else's, got it?" Didn't he understand the game the two of them had played with each other since they met? They battered with one another, it was their thing. Of course, maybe the reason why she played that game with Gideon was because he was the only one who had ever dared play the game with her. Everyone else was too afraid fight with her... Gideon wasn't.

Then she smiled at him, "Why Gert? Did I hurt you? You want me to kiss it and make it better?" He was being a baby.

Gideon watched her behavior, it all seeming so amusing though he was planning along to the full extent of it. "My mistake, I had forgotten those were the rules," he said appologetically though there was a grin on his face. They certainly were competative between each other and he had learned to not take her size. age and gender for granted so he didn't pull his punches anymore.

"No Selina...you di--" he started to say cutting off as she mentioned her kissing his shoulder to make it better. "No...not necessary," the older boy finished trying not to appear too sheepish.
