Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.
Every Paranoid Slytherin
Every house you diss
Every bludger you miss
Every word you hiss
Every doom you meet
They're watching you
Every wand-tip you lit
Every gambling trick
Every prefect you kiss
Every power fit
They're watching you
Oh don't you know
Snakes slither alone
They will look for you
For every chaos that issues
Every lie you speak
Every nervous tick
Every mental kick
Every evil mist
They're watching you
They are watching you
They'll be watching you
Slytherin watches you
I'll be watching you.
&
Alone
Have you ever felt alone in the world,
like you just don't belong.
Like everywhere you turn,
you do something wrong.
You zig instead of zag,
you're yin instead of yang,
you step instead of leap.
It's always one step forward,
and two steps back.
You wonder why they hate you,
or stab you in the back,
or turn away so easily.
They look away when you're in pain,
and laugh when you fall.
They tease you because you're different,
because they are all the same.
They hate the way you think,
and laugh at your ideas.
Know you're not alone.
They're the same as you,
unique in many ways,
but hide it from society.
Never speaking their mind,
hiding their emotions.
Have you ever felt alone in the world?
Know you're never alone.
Mitch stumbled into the Great Hall, still tired, but also excited what this castle would have in store for its new student.
But before exploring his new second home, he'd have to have some breakfast.
The tall fifth year boy sat down at his house table and starting piling food onto his plate. And all kinds there were. What a morning!
Taking a sip of his coffee, he looked around if there was someone else, so he wouldn't have to eat his breakfast alone.

Kimalia had a peaceful sleep that night, classes were going to start pretty soon and one thing she learned last year was to eat even when her stomach was still asleep. Oh wow, where is everyone? She only saw one there, she must've came down a little too early. Plopping into the seat at the table remembering her manners she spoke, "Morning," to the taller boy near her whilst reaching over for the jam jar and toast immediately.

He looked up as he heard feet approaching the Slytherin house table across the empty hall.
A girl sat down, greeted him and started having her breakfast. He smiled politely and said: "Good Morning!"
He thought that he had seen her before. He decided to let her have a few bites to eat before he started a conversation - she looked REALLY hungry.

Kimalia gave a friendly smile back before buttering her jam on the perfectly toasted slice of bread. He was really taller than her, she thought, too tall to be a first year. "So what's your name?" Kimalia then poured into her goblet some hot water before adding one of her herbal tea bags. "I'm Kimalia, and you're here quite early."
Then she took a bite into her jammed bread, it was delicious, before dabbing her mouth in case any jam or bread crumb was stuck there. "I don't think I've ever seen you before, you new here?" Maybe he was a first year and had some giant in his blood. That would've been wicked. But then again, in this big school it is possible to never see a student in one's seven years attending..

Mitch chuckled at the introduction. "Yes, I'm here quite early". He waited until she had taken her bite off the bread, watching, and then said, to answer her question: "My name's Mitch. And yup, I'm new here. In entered as a fifth year though. I was homeschooled and I've just joined Hogwarts as a student. I couldn't before, so now I'm the new fifth year."
He looked down at his cup and poured some more milk into his coffee, swirling the content with a spoon.

Oh so he was a new fifth year, "Oh nice, just in time for your O.W.L's then," Kimalia paused for a moment when he mentioned being homeschooled. She couldn't help but feel embarrassed on that subject, since she regrettably chose to be homeschooled during her first year. Smiling again, she continued. "I was homeschooled my first year, so while I'm a third year, this is like my second year here.." Watching his body language, she could almost feel how calm and collected he was. Her brother encouraged her to be very observant of people just in case..
"It might be a bit early for you, but d'you know what you feel like doing after graduating Hogwarts?" She then took a careful sip of her tea.. and it burnt her tongue. "Ow, hot!" Immediately fanning her tongue to cool it off, she then remembered the last incident when she accidentally tasted the tainted water the previous night. Hopefully this would be the last time she had a bad experience with a drink.

Katrina walked to the Great Hall to see that only see a few Slytherins on the House Table so she sat somewhere far from them since they were older students. Being a first year, it feels strange.
Katrina reached for her goblet of pumpkin juice and drank slowly. She saw food everywhere; it was heaven when she saw all of them on the table since she hasn't seen as much food as this since her 5th birthday.

"Good morning!" she greeted everybody at the great hall. She didn't care that she knew them or not.
she walked into Slytherin house table, Holy crap! Why so quite there?
she thought. Just some older students she saw and nobody she knew there

She looked a girl sat alone there. Maybe she is first year too. Then Raven tried to join her.
Sarah stumbled into the Great Hall. I was waaayyy too early to be up. She sat down in a random seat and sat there for a moment. She really wasn't a morning person. She needed a moment to wake herself up.
She yawned widely, before reaching for some bacon.

"Yes, the O.W.L's...", he sighed, and started twirling the contents of his cup even more vigorously even though there was no need. He had been worrying about the exams for a while now - he hoped what he had learned at home was enough to catch up to the standards of a new fifth year...but then again the headmaster had said there was no need to worry, so he wasn't sure how to feel at the end of the day.
When she mentioned that she was homeschooled to, he looked up and rasied his eyebrows. "Really?" Now that was defnitely interesting, he hadn't expected to meet someone who had been homeschooled and then come to Hogwarts at all, he thought he would be the only one. Awesome! He didn't dare to ask why she was homeschooled though, because of his own reasons. He wouldn't want everyone to know.
"After school?" He thought for a moment. "No, not really. You?" When she took a sip from the much to hot drink and gasped, he nearly jumped and reached out his arm towards her, and stopped only half way across the table. "You alright? I hate burnings..."

"Yeah.." Kimalia replied smiling, "I guess it's not uncommon anymore. Most just assumed I skipped a year." Okay, so she told some people that she did, but no harm there.
Kimalia could feel herself burning up, from that hot drink? not just that, but it was embarassing to make a fool of herself. It only took a little bit for her to cool down. "Uh, yeah thanks." She smiled to cover up her earlier look while pushing her tea away until it was cooler.
Hmm.. Kimalia was still pretty clueless on what to do after graduating. After all, she was nearing 14 and had plenty of time. So she laughed. "Hardly, but if I had to go with my strengths right now it'd be Quidditch.. But as wicked as me playing at 90 would be I dunno if I could settle down with that." She thought some more. "Maybe muggles.. I dunno, what about you. There must be something you're wicked at?" Maybe she could help, it was what snakes did right?
Jai was simple over the moon. He was with the girl who became his friend and still was. But now they had something more. He headed to the Slytherine table. They would be having breakfast and that made Jai even more happy. Food was always his comfort and happy place.

Geraldine was already tired from all the exploring. Geraldine was already hungry so she decided to go to the Great Hall to eat, and maybe to meet new friends, well if she found some. It was hard for her to have new friends mainly because she wasn't that friendly, but she isn't mean or evil at all. Well, scratch the not evil part, she was evil (she was a slytherin after all ^^) but in a respectful way, like she wouldn't bother you if you didn't bother her, sort of way.
Just as she was nearing the slytherin table, she was hoping to eat a lot of food (and maybe a little chocolate), she was starving!

Between investigating the kitchens and meeting new people, it seemed as though that Matt couldn't stop thinking about what had happened at the start of term feast; the mere idea that he was seeing Stella at Hogwarts still seemed rather strange to him, possibly since he hadn't gotten the chance to talk to her in Diagon Alley over the summer. At least you're not seeing people that aren't there.. As he walked through the doors of the Great Hall and took a seat at the rather empty Slytherin table, a slight frown became present on his face; this whole situation was definitely about to give him a headache unless he knew the truth but that wasn't going to happen until he saw her and was able to ask what exactly was going on. Well maybe it's a good thing Raven doesn't know about this one huh? Knowing her she would just make a situation of this and honestly that's not needed right now.

After her conversation with the two boys up in the first floor corridor, Stella had continued on her way down to the ground floor and found herself turning toward the Great Hall instead of heading outside like she'd intended. Now that she had another mystery to try to solve, she'd gone back to thinking about the house elves as well and that made her curious if the dirty tableware had come back or if it was still sparkly and everything. Best way to find that out would be to check the Hall, or go to the kitchens but she hadn't found them yet. The Great Hall was closer anyway.
Still holding Lyra as she hadn't let the kitten down since the earlier conversation, she headed inside and turned toward the Ravenclaw table before noticing someone sitting at the Slytherin table. Matt, she thought, changing direction and heading over to where he was sitting. "Why the frown?," she asked, slipping into an open seat next to him and not even thinking about how weird it must look with her not saying hi or anything. She really wasn't thinking about that anyway, and she let her kitten prowl around on the bench as she waited for an answer. Maybe she could ask him about the question about the Divination tower.

After becoming rather consumed in his own thoughts, he didn't even notice that anyone had been speaking to him until out of the corner of his eye; he noticed Stella sitting there. Huh, when did she show up? That wasn't a thought that needed to be figured out since it would just make him much more distracted which wasn't something that he wanted to have happen right now at least. "Oh, just thinking about things. This whole mystery with the house elves acting rather strange has got my brain all tied up in knots." he replied before realizing that wasn't exactly what he wanted to say. Oh well bravo, not even five seconds into the conversation and you've already managed to come up with a response that's a bit far from the actual truth. Well it wasn't entirely a lie, he did want to know exactly what was going on here and he would find that out.. in time of course however now, it appeared that he had had the chance to ask about the whole not being at Beauxbatons thing even if he didn't actually have the right to know.
"So.. how was your summer?" Either his brain was unable to come up with the actual question that he had wanted to ask, or he just felt the need to blurt out a random question but at least it made some kind of sense for once; most of the time whenever he ended up saying a comment it ended up making as much sense as walking into a wall repeatedly. Apparently even the fact that there had been no greeting whatsoever had been missed by him which was quite odd since normally he would have picked up on that kind of thing earlier.

Apparently even her odd opening line hdn't even gotten Matt's attention, but Stella didn't exactly push the issue. He'd notice her when he wanted, and besides, she had the distraction of Lyra. Who had decided she wanted to crawl into her lap and purr like an engine, but that didn't distract her from listening as Matt finally spoke. She grinned slightly as even though he hadn't seemed like he'd paid attention, he still answered her question, though. "The house elves are acting strange, and apparently the Divination classroom has either moved or vanished," she replied, just getting all the mysteries established for the moment. "It makes me wonder if this is normal Hogwarts, or if something weird's going on." Something told her it wasn't normal Hogwarts, however. Especially as now it seemed she knew more than one person who wasn't a transfer and seemed surprised by everything. If Matt didn't know what was going on, obviously it wasn't normal.
She started petting Lyra as suddenly she'd been asked an entirely random question, but answered it anyway. "My summer was good. Did things with Risa before I came over here, then got to see London a bit," she replied, completely honest. There wasn't really any reason to not tell him things now, not when it was obvious she wasn't back in France. "I went to that carnival in Diagon Alley, too. Almost got pulled up on the stage," she added, with another smile. She'd sort of managed to evade Salander, even though it had definitely been tempting. Acting was just part of her, after all.

He smiled and listened. "Quidditch?". That was one of the things he'd to least. "I hate broomsticks...I'm just afraid of heights. Nono, no Quidditch for me." He thought of the few times his family and friends convinced him to try out flying. Horrible. Maybe that also connected to the fact that he broke his left arm at that occasion. Lost in thought at this memory he scratched the scar that still covered his left arm.
"Muggles? That must be kind of exhausting, always having to check these Muggles don't find out about magic...Sorry I think I'm complaining too much." he chuckled. Bad habit. "Wicked at? Hm...Dunno, I guess I like potions...I'm not sure if I want to make my living with mixing potions, though...we'll see. There's loads of time. Right now, I'll just enjoy my stay here and am excited to find out more about all sorts of things."

Worst. Idea. EVER. He was definitely paying for it now.
Zayden literally almost ran to the Great Hall, as if he was running a race, and sat down at the far end of the table by himself. He was way too hungry to even consider talking to someone right now. Even though he remembered how bad the food had tasted at the feast, he still piled his plate full of chicken, potatoes, and pastries. Gosh, he could eat a Hippogriff right now! THAT was how hungry this young boy was.
After rolling up the sleeves off his robe, he dug into his food and stuffed his mouth. Yummy yummyyy food. He seriously ignored ANY looks that were given in his general directions because he didn't really care what people thought. If they were as hungry as he was, they would be doing the same thing.
