Stella really wasn't entirely sure what had brought her back down to the first floor, seeing as she hadn't decided on visiting any professors before lessons started, and there really wasn't much else on the first floor. At least she was managing to help Lyra get her bearings, as the kitten had been following her pretty much the entire way down from the tower (Although she'd picked her up on the moving staircases just to be safe). She didn't want her pet to get lost in the castle, even if she herself wasn't entirely familiar with it herself yet. She had all year to find her way around, anyhow.

She couldn't even say she was looking for anyone in particular either, as she continued walking down the corridor, even though she knew there were people she really ought find and speak to. Seeing as it seemed Matt had been surprised at her being here at Hogwarts, even though she'd only sort of hidden her transfer any of the times she'd spoken to him over the summer. There was always the other friends she'd made before she'd gotten here, too, but none of them seemed to be around. People to talk to would be nice, though, as it would keep her from ending up in a conversation with the portraits along the corridor. Some of them had tried to get her attention already, but she'd simply smiled and moved on. Talking to paintings was just a bit too eccentric for her, right now. Maybe after she'd gotten to be more a part of things around Hogwarts.

Charles was roaming around the castle as usual, he'd missed this place a lot because it had seemed that the summer holidays had lasted a long, long time. Not that he didn't enjoy holidays, it was just less eventful with his family, no matter how hard he tried to pull pranks along the way.

He was still thinking about what Cherry had said to him on the train, about how he had to pull himself together and think of actually studying as it was O.W.L year. Her words were somewhat scary, especially as far as not having any future if he didn't get enough OWLs. He assumed that he did need a good future, even if he didn't want one. Both his parents being the hard-working Healers they were, he wasn't likely going to get any help from any of them, if his education level dropped below their expectations.

It's not all about studies, he thought irritably to himself, and then registering that he didn't really know where in Hogwarts he was, he stopped and looked around the wide corridor realising that it was a long way from the Gryffindor tower. He saw a girl standing at the side of the corridor, apparently alone, and he wondered what she was doing there. She seemed kind of lost maybe, but she didn't look young enough to be a first year. Maybe she was waiting for someone, but Charles couldn't resist his intrefering nature,

"Hey," He said, looking at her curiously.

"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

Adam had just finished eating lunch, which had been incredibly good, when he decided to go exploring around the castle a bit more. He figured it was better to get the whole getting lost thing out of the way before classes started...after all it would make his life a lot easier if he had at least somewhat of an idea of what he was doing. Adam was looking out one of the windows, surprised that he could see the Quidditch Pitch from this far away when he ran right into a bench. The motion caused him to trip slightly, Adam grabbing onto the bench before he went face down on the stone floor, but unfortunately his wand had bounced a couple of feet away. Well...so much for having a good morning.

Coming in from the grounds, Dallin planned on going up to the common room. He had taken a detour down this corridor, though, maybe because he wanted to visit a professor. Probably not, though. But whatever the reason was, he was here. And just in time to have a wand come skidding toward him. Dallin stared at the wand for a few seconds before looking up to where it came from, wondering why someone would just throw their wand.

It was then that he saw Adam. Dallin snorted a laugh then quickly covered his mouth with his hand; he didn't want to seem rude. Plus, he needed to talk to the guy. So it was a rather good stroke of luck that Adam had decided to throw his wand at Dallin. Leaning down, Dallin picked up the wand in front of him and walked forward to hand it to Adam. "Hey," he said with a nod. Hopefully Adam wasn't busy because Dallin was now planning on talking to him.

At first all Adam saw were a pair of feet in front of him, only a couple of inches from his wand, then he heard the snort of laughter. After regaining his balance and standing up Adam realized who it was, and gave a little smile of embarrassment. Adam took a couple of steps forward to help close the distance between him and Dallin, and took the wand with a little nod of thanks.

"My fault for paying more attention to what's outside than what's in front of me," Adam said with another little smile. "Um...how are you?"

Dallin laughed a little, taking a look out the window that Adam was looking through. He put his hands in his pockets, turning to face Adam again when he asked a question.

"I'm alright," he said with a shrug. You know, not horrible but not one hundred percent fantastic? So, good. "You?" Okay, so this wasn't the kind of talking that Dallin had in his mind. Sure, there was nothing wrong with just trying to make a friend or whatever... but the matter in Dal's mind was really starting to bug him and he had to know what's up.

Going over to the bench that Adam's had just tripped over, Dallin sat down. "Do you know Louisa?" Of course he did; he'd asked him about her, hadn't he? That was how Dallin had known that Adam might be a good person to ask. So... yeah, pointless question. "Are you, um, good friends with her?"

"I'm uh...I'm alright," Adam said. He was definitely doing much better now that he'd had some time to recover from the letter basically saying that his parents were disowning him. It still pained him to think about it, but he was definitely doing with tears and being angry. Now all he wanted to do was focus on school.

Adam could tell that Dallin was wanting to talk about something more serious than "how's the weather" and when he sat down on the bench Adam knew his suspicions were correct. Did he know Louisa and were they good friends? Adam cleared his throat slightly before sitting down on the bench next to Dallin. "I do know Louisa, and we're very good friends," Adam said with a little nod. He had a feeling he knew what was coming, but he didn't really want to jump to conclusions. "Um...why do you ask?" Adam asked. Adam had asked Dallin the first time just to confirm that he was the said Dallin that Louisa talked about, but surely Dallin had something more...well...complicated in mind than that.

For some reason Adam's 'alright' seemed less, well, alright than Dallin's. But Dal didn't ask. It wasn't really any of his business. He hardly even knew Adam, considering this was only the second time they'd spoken.

He nodded, looking down at his knees. He was trying to figure out how to phrase his question without sounding... horrible. He was also thinking that maybe he shouldn't ask. Because if Adam was such a good friend to her, would he tell Louisa about this? Or would he respect the 'guy code?' ...Or whatever it was.

"Do you, um," He really should stop saying 'um,' "Know what's wrong with her?" He frowned, not liking how he had worded that. He tried again. "I mean, why she's acting so weird?" That wasn't much better. With a sigh, Dallin looked up to meet Adam's eyes. "She ran away from me the other night in the common room. Like, to hide from me. And I just... don't know what I did to make her so angry. Or whatever it is she's feeling about me." The real question was in there. Adam could figure it out.

Adam could tell that Dallin was trying to figure out what how to say what he was trying to, so while he did that Adam preoccupied himself with the end of one of the sleeves of his robe. When Dallin finally did speak Adam looked at him. He opened his mouth to respond to his first question, but closed it when Dallin started to speak again. He waited until he was sure Dallin was done speaking before he was silent for a couple of moments, wondering how to word this. Adam owed courtesy to Louisa who he knew much better than Dallin, but at the same time Adam was getting the impression that Louisa wasn't really all that happy about her current status with Dallin. They had been friends before, right? And Adam and Louisa had found a way to be friends despite her liking someone else that wasn't him, so the same could be possible for her and Dallin, right?

"I do know what's wrong," Adam said with a little nod before shifting in his seat slightly. "You seem like a nice guy Dallin, at least from the little I've spoken with you, so...if you agree to a sort of "guy's code" here I'm willing to fill you in on what I know." Adam looked at Dallin, making sure that the boy was on the same page as him before he continued. "The truth is that...uh...Louisa likes you...a lot," Adam said, emphasizing the end so that Dallin would understand that he meant she likes him as more than a friend. "And I think she's struggling emotionally right now, because she was confused at how you and Ellie became an item when she thought you weren't interested in anyone." Adam shifted his glance down for a moment before looking up at Dallin again. He hoped that he was describing Louisa's feelings in a way that she would find acceptable.

"When I met her over the summer I was getting the impression that she was stuck as to how to approach you about the whole thing." Adam figured there wasn't really a need for him to elaborate on how Louisa put him up on a pedestal, because in all honesty that made her seem like a lovestruck teenager and not a mature girl, and Louisa was definitely the latter. "Perhaps I owe you an apology, because I was the one that suggested that she come and talk to you. I thought maybe if she told you how she felt, that maybe it would help her...but...um...your answer ended up being more painful than I think I had been anticipating." Adam gave Dallin an apologetic frown. He had really been trying to help Louisa, but unfortunately he felt like he had made matters worse.

Adam gave Dallin an apologetic frown. He had really been trying to help Louisa, but unfortunately he felt like he had made matters worse.

Dallin was completely silent as Adam talked, now looking at his knees again. He knew most of what Adam told him. He knew that Louisa had a crush on him and that she was upset when she found out he had a girlfriend. She had told him that much. He, however, didn't quite get what Adam meant by 'a lot.' She couldn't like him that much if she kept avoiding him. *scoff*

He jerked his head up, his eyes widening when Adam admitted that it'd been his idea for Louisa to talk to him about the whole situation. He didn't really think that he deserved an apology, though, because what could Adam really apologize for? Giving Louisa advice? It's not like he knew how the girl would react to the answer to the question she asked. It was actually quite possible that Adam was just as clueless as Dallin was in this whole ordeal. Or maybe he wasn't. Who knew?

Painful? Dallin grimaced at the word. That sort of... changed his perspective of things. Was Louisa really in pain about it? Over a crush? It wasn't like Dallin was the only boy in the world, and he had even told Louisa that some guy would like her, some time. It just wasn't going to be him. Could that really be that painful? "I didn't realize my answer was that important," he muttered, not really talking to Adam, but just thinking aloud. "Is she still... upset about that?" Ya know, just to make sure she had a real reason to be mad at him.

When Adam finished he sat there for a couple of moments, letting Dallin process everything that he had just said. He couldn't really tell from Dallin's face whether this was information that he had already known, or at least assumed, or if this was entirely new information. Of course, he was sure that Dallin knew that Louisa liked him, but when Dallin finally did speak Adam realized what the problem was. Dallin had no concept of just how much Louisa liked him. It wasn't just some five second crush that she moved on from...she really liked him, and she really thought that there was something there. Of course, how would Adam be able to make Dallin see that? Perhaps he could use his own experience of Louisa shutting him down to try and put it in a way that Dallin could understand where Louisa was coming from.

Adam turned and looked at Dallin. "I...uh...I don't know much about your side of things, since what I've heard has come from Louisa, and well...everyone has a different take on things. What I can tell you is that your answer basically shut down any chance of there ever being an opportunity for you and her to be...well...more." Adam let out a little sigh before continuing. "I don't know, I mean, have you ever liked someone that hasn't liked you back in the same way? I'm sure you were nice about it to her, since you hardly seem like the kind of guy that would be mean, but really...rejection hurts no matter how kindly you word it." Adam was quiet again for a moment.

"I think, although she hasn't specifically said this to me, that maybe she is avoiding you so much because she's not really sure how to face you yet," Adam said with a little frown. "And I'm not sure that she really knows what to do with the information that you've given her, but I do think that she's hurt, and somewhat angry."

He was planning on collecting a few supplies to practice crystallomancy before deciding whether or not he would add the class to his busy schedule. He had gone through every single floor and still could not find the location of the Divination classroom. Finally, he made it all the way to the first floor, and after determining that it wasn't here either, he headed towards the staircase. He only had two more places to check, the ground floor and the grounds, unless there was a new place in the school or she had missed the room entirely. The possibility of the later he quickly discarded since this was his third year in the school and he now knew it like the back of his hand.

On his way to the ground floor, Eino encountered a fellow Ravenclaw. She didn't look familiar, it was only the beginning of the term and he wasn't very good at remembering people's faces anyway. "Umm, excuse me." He called out as he walked towards her. "Do you happen to know where the Divination classroom has moved to?" Or if it had moved at all. Maybe she was looking for it, too?

Dallin was silent for a very long time after he finished speaking. He thought back to that day in Diagon Alley when Louisa had told him that... what she felt about him. He closed his eyes, trying to remember what he'd said to her. He hadn't really said that there was no way on Earth they could ever be together, he'd just said that he couldn't possibly imagine not having Ellie. That was what he'd been trying to get at; Ellie was here - thank Merlin - so there was no use for Louisa to ask 'what if.' Because it wouldn't matter. Would her reaction have been any better if he had told her that maybe things could have been different? Even if that was a lie?

...He'd just have to ask her. If she ever talked to him again.

He opened his eyes suddenly at one of the questions Adam asked. Slowly, he nodded. Of course he had felt that; that 'unrequited love' thing. Sure, it hadn't been love, but it'd been something. Those crushes at Merlin's on his sisters' friends. And those few months after Ellie broke up with him that he didn't know how he felt. Was that a kind of rejection Louisa was feeling?

Sighing, Dallin leaned back to grip the other edge of the bench with his hands. "Do you think it'd be a good idea for me to just ... talk to her? Or should I wait and let her do it on her own?" Dallin really had no idea why he was asking Adam for advice. He was Louisa's friend and stuff... so maybe he knew her better than Dallin did.

It wouldn't hurt to ask, would it? "You're really good friends with her, aren't you?" Dallin might be clueless about a lot of things, but it was fairly obvious that Adam felt strongly about Louisa.

Adam sat silent while Dallin was silent. It was a lot to take in and this was a lot to process, so Adam didn't blame Dallin if he needed a minute. Heavens knew Adam himself had a hard time following and understanding this stuff, and given the fact that Dallin was coming to Adam for advice made Adam feel like maybe Dallin had just as hard of a time as he did. When Dallin finally did speak Adam had to admit that he was surprised. He was asking Adam for advice? Well...perhaps he wasn't mad at Adam for telling Louisa to express her feelings.

"Um...I don't know if she's planning on trying to come and talk to you or not," Adam said with an apologetic frown. "I mean obviously she's been avoiding the situation, but maybe if you did try to approach her again, maybe it would work." Adam felt for Dallin and he thought that if Louisa could find a way to get back to the friend stage with Dallin, that maybe it would help her...well...hurt less. But of course Louisa was remaining quite quiet about the whole thing to Adam, which surprised him slightly, but he wasn't really pushing Louisa to talk about it since he knew how difficult of a topic it was for her. "I would...uh...prepare yourself for it to not be the friendliest conversation you've ever had with her, but I think if you can force her to get out the frustration, then maybe you guys can have a civilized conversation."

At Dallin's second question Adam couldn't help but shoot his eyes to the ground. After all he was dealing with his own pain at the idea of Louisa being with another guy, but somehow he was managing to remain her friend. "Yeah...I consider her to be a best friend," Adam said with a nod. He could see from the look that Dallin had that he was suspecting that there was something more than what Adam was telling him. "I...uh...I can kind of understand what she's going through," Adam said, not too loudly. He hoped that Dallin was understanding what he was trying to say without having to say it out loud.

William had been at Hogwarts for more than a couple of days and he had yet to explore most of the castle. Being the structured nerd that he was, he wanted to start with the first floor and move up (even though he, as a Ravenclaw, resided in one of the highest towers in the castle). He clambered, almost climbed, up the stone steps that were much too big for the little first-year, and it took all of his strength to get from Marble staircase and up the first flight of stairs to the first floor corridor. He was almost empty, save for a few students who were all older than Will. However, he didn't mind that and began strolling down the drafty corridor. He figured it would be beneficial to get a good feel of the castle, or at least on the floors where he had lessons. He had heard older students mention that Defense Against the Dark Arts and a History of Magic classes were on this floor. He wondered if there were more. A tad bit overwhelmed with how large the castle was, Will stood in the middle of the corridor and wondered whether he should explore each of the doors that lined along the walls of the hall.

After a particularly vocal portrait had called out for the third or fourth time, Stella had stopped her wandering to find out what particularly was bothering the subject about her. It seemed to be Lyra, so she'd scooped her kitten up and made her wave a tiny paw at the portrait. Hopefully that would get it to be quiet for a while, because it was generally unnerving to be yelled at by paintings as she explored her new school. Plus, she hadn't really wanted to accidentally interrupt any of the professors who might be in their offices on this floor. Especially as she hadn't really gotten to talk to any of them yet. But as she'd turned from the painting to continue on her way down the corridor, she heard someone speak and glanced around to see a boy standing not too far from her. "Hello," she replied, leaning over to let Lyra back onto the floor as the kitten wiggled a little. She didn't think she'd met him before, but apparently he was a Gryffindor like Paulie and August were. At least, that was what his robes told her, and she hoped it meant he was going to be as friendly as the others.

Before she could find out too much from the mystery Gryffindor, though, it seemed she was destined for yet another interruption as she heard someone else call out an d saw a slightly younger fellow Ravenclaw walking towards her, her kitten and the other boy. Slightly intrigued by the fact everyone seemed so willing to talk to her, without knowing beforehand that she was a transfer (at least, as far as she knew), she waited for him to continue and gave him a curious look as he asked his question. "The Divination classroom moved?," she asked back. Of course, she hadn't exactly seen one yet anyhow, but she'd just started exploring. Plus, there was the whole fact she didn't know the castle yet, so maybe it had been elsewhere before. Wherever it was now, which seemed to be another mystery.

She had decided to come in here after finishing in the courtyard.
"I'm Elsie by the way! Are you a first year to?"

Charles heard someone shouting out and looked around to see a portrait calling out to the girl that was standing there. He saw her scoop up her kitten and have it wave a paw in the direction of the offending portrait. Woah, now this was kind of weird. If that particular portrait had been calling out to him like that he would've cursed at it and continued his way. Maybe this girl was polite, he thought reasonably or maybe girls usually did that. He didn't know, and he thought better of questioning it.

"Hey I'm Charles, and I was wondering what you were doing until .." He said boldly smiling, trying hard not to snigger, and looking down at her kitten.

Another boy walked up to the girl Charles was talking to, and they both looked from the same house he noticed. And then the boy said something about Divination. Charles raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
"Divination tower changed place?" He asked incredulously, mishearing the boy and Charles being himself actually, innocently thought the tower had moved. So much for being a doof.

Dallin nodded, sighing silently. He supposed that he should have guessed that much. But he had just hoped that Adam might know a little bit more than he did. It seemed like Louisa was hard for everyone to read, though. Dallin shrugged half-heartedly at Adam's suggestion. He didn't really want to approach Louisa. She would probably just run off. Or yell at him. Or hex him. And none of those things sounded at all like something he would like. He laughed a litte, shaking his head. "I don't think we've had one friendly conversation since... last term." That late night in the common room. Because after that there'd been yelling and crying and just plain awkwardness.

Sigh.

A best friend. That's what Dallin considered her, too. Or he had. Right now he pretty much considered her a crazy teenage girl that was at least partly crazy. Maybe best friend fit in there somewhere? At what Adam said next, Dallin's eyes widened and he resisted the urge to look at the fifth year. He knew what Louisa was going through? Meaning... what Dallin thought he meant? "In what way?" Okay, that might be a little personal. But Adam had the option to tell Dallin to mind his own business, of course.

Eino looked at both of them puzzled. Had he completely missed the classroom or was this a prank they were playing on him? He did visit the Divination tower several times before determining that there was no classroom in sight, so he was leaning towards the later. Maybe they just hadn't checked and were just as confused to find out that the classroom wasn't where it was supposed to be, in the Divination tower. "Yes, it seems so. I went up all the way to the Divination tower," Eino said pointing up to the ceiling with his index finger "and I could not find it." He concluded shaking his head. Several things had been off, though. He had heard that the kitchens had been closed, and no students were allowed, not to mention the dirty silverware at the feast. However, the missing Divination classroom could not be the work of house-elves, could it? "It is most curious, I must admit. It has been in the same location for the past three years, at least, and now it is no where to be found." Did his peers really not know where the classroom was? Well, he hadn't seen Professor Bishop at the feast, so that wasn't a good sign. Had the Headmaster discontinued the class from the school's curriculum? That would be disappointing. Sure, Divination was a difficult subject, and he still questioned the its accuracy, but it was interesting and fun nonetheless.

Stella hadn't thought her actions with Lyra regarding the portrait she'd finally stepped away from had been seen, even though the corridor wasn't exactly empty, but as she watched the boy who'd approached she coudl tell he was trying to not think she was crazy. Especially as he'd tried not to snicker as his words drifted off. "It's nice to meet you, Charles. I'm Stella, and this," she said, gesturing down at her kitten, who was now sniffing microscopic specks of dust on the floor or something, " is Lyra. That painting was being kind of... fâcheux about being ignored or something, so I had to get it to be quiet somehow." She'd unintentionally inserted French into her explanation, but hopefully he'd still get the point. Plus, the concept of ridiculing her had seemed to be interrupted by the other boy's arrival and question.

For which it seemed her own confusion wasn't about to be cleared up, as both Charles and the new boy seemed just as mystified. Understandab;y, of course, but she'd hoped that they at least were more familiar with the ways of Hogwarts than herself. "The entire tower vanished, or was just locked up?," she asked, once his explanation finished. As far as she knew, the outside of the castle had looked like the pictures she'd been shown by Talia. So it seemed ridculous that an entire tower had physically vanished. "Maybe the classroom just got moved elsewhere. I mean, was there a Divination professor at the feast?," she asked, musing aloud as Lyra stopped her dust hunting and nudged her ankle. Leaning over to scoop the kitten back up, she continued trying to remember her visit to the professors at the feast. She didn't recall a Divination professor, but there had been an empty chair by the tough DADA professor woman. So it was likely the class still existed, at least as far as she was concerned.

"Nice to meet you too, " He smiled, glancing at Lyra the kitten, who was apparently sniffing at the wall. His amusement at what she'd done had apparently shown on his face, not that he wanted to show it, but Stella was explaining why she'd raised her kitten to the portrait. "Yeah, them portraits tend to get .., er- fa .. annoying, " He nodded wisely, failing to repeat the French word Stella had used, or let slip. Maybe she was French? Wait what? "You could tell them to shut up, " He added helpfully, winking. That would've been what he'd have done if a portrait annoyed him. Not that he was usually bothered by Hogwarts portraits, he generally found them amusing. "Are you, er- new?" He asked her, realising a second too late that the question sounded stupid. Very Stupid.

Charles frowned, what the girl was saying made sense, because the whole Divination tower couldn't have moved, but the classroom might have if there was a new Professor. "Why would a new Professor move the classroom though?" He asked, now that didn't make sense. He has always had Divination in North Tower, how come it had been changed now? And according to this boy, he hadn't found the classroom yet. He nodded at the boy, "It's been like that ever since, " He confirmed that the classroom has always been there, at least that was what Charles thought.

Adam turned and gave Dallin an empathetic frown. He could only imagine how frustrating this could be: after all him and Louisa had been friends and from all that he'd gathered from this conversation it seemed like Dallin really enjoyed being Louisa's friend. He just wished there was some way that Adam could help Louisa so that she could talk to Dallin. He wished he could show her this Dallin that was sad and confused about the whole situation, but doing that would open a whole other can of worms that Adam wasn't really sure that he wanted to open. After all if Louisa felt like Adam was becoming good friends with Louisa she would probably hex him on the spot.

When Adam's semi confession came out he noticed that Dallin's eyes had gotten big. Somewhat embarrassed Adam shot his glance to the ground, not sure that he could make eye contact with Dallin. Of course Louisa already knew this, so it wouldn't be a surprise if somehow this got back to her. One can't really be surprised at what they already know, right? Adam cleared this throat slightly when Dallin asked what he meant. "I...uh...well...I like Louisa as more than a friend, but the feelings aren't mutual," Adam said, the words come out quite quietly. In all honesty things had gotten complicated between Louisa and Adam since that moment in the owlery and then their conversation about her talk with Joao. Really, Adam was perplexed as to what Louisa was thinking and feeling, and it seemed like every time they talked about it the more confused that he got. "It's kind of complicated though...sometimes I think maybe she thinks about it, but then there's another guy she kind of likes...and...it's just..." Adam let out a somewhat deflated sigh. Dallin probably did not want to hear him babble on like this, but Adam was confused and somewhat hurt, and he had no clue what to do about it.

Luna was walkeding and reading her book not really paying attention to anything that was going on her glasses falling of her nose and she was shoving them up not to often the book was heavy and it didn't look excactly for children but it was only for some catching up she thought anyways then *BUMP* her book fell to the ground including her glasses which looked like the were now smashed ''I'm sooo sorry I don't really pay attention when i'm ehhh reading'' she went red she was totally embarresed That was the most STUPID thing I could have ever done! she bent down and picked up her glasses and her book she looked at her glasses not really paying attention to the boy in front of her anymore she then put her glasses and her book into her bag she had another pair she couldn't have cared less

She decided to introduce herself cause it took a lot of gutsfor a first year to introduce themselves she knew that since she was a first year the year before ''I'm Luna by the way and you are?'' she asked even thought she broke her glasses and totally embarresed herself didn't mean she had to be unfriendly
