Hanging just outside the Divination classroom is a large bulletin board where any and all notices regarding class will be posted. Anyone wondering when the next lesson will be, what the latest homework assignment is, when assignments are due, or anything they might have missed should feel free to check here for that information.
Also posted here are the instructions as to what Professor Bishop prefers regarding how to submit assignments.
Text Cut: homework submission rules
When submitting homework assignments, please include the following:
Character Name:
User Name:
House:
User ID: (to locate this, simply check your profile URL. The number at the end is your ID number. As an example, mine is 86319)
Assignment Name:
Submit all assignments to Professor Bishop by PM, preferably before the due date.
Assignments will generally be given two weeks to be completed, and any submissions that occur after the posted date will not be graded. And try to use correct spelling and grammar. Usually I can decipher things, but after a while it gets tiring. And could reflect badly on grades. Plagiarism and cheating are definitely taboo, and will also reflect on points given, or taken away. I will know if you copy directly from the internet. Google might be your friend, but it's mine as well.

Keep an open mind, because you might not know what exactly is going to be discussed.

Divination Lesson 1 Homework
After the lesson, it should be obvious that there are some aspects of the established list of symbols and meanings that don't necessarily work when it comes to all symbol-based Divination.
In that case, perhaps there should be a bit of alteration to make the list more appropriate, or at least more meaningful for our purposes.
Assignment:
choose one option:
* Choose five of the already established symbols from the list given in class and write your own interpretations of their meanings
-or-
* Create three new symbols and give their meanings
note: For each option, also include a short explanation (300 words maximum) as to why you selected/created these symbols, and if you like, include some sort of imagery to help visualize the symbols (what they look like, etc.)
Assignments will be due no later than midnight PST, June 12th (8am GMT, or 3 am EST, June 13th) and will be worth up to 10 points each. Late submissions will not be graded. Submission rules are explained in the first post of this thread. And have fun with this.

Divination Lesson 2: the Language of Flowers
What: Divination lesson 2
Where: the Divination classroom
When: Sunday, June 19th Hopefully I'll be able to open the thread before my shift at work that day, so everyone can post their entrances, etc. But either way, I'm hoping to start the lesson at around 7 am, GMT or so (My usual late night getting online, for me)
Bring: Yourselves, textbook, etc. (Whatever you feel might be necessary)
Anyone with pollen allergies might want to be careful. I'd understand if you chose not to attend, without certain charms in place and such.

Divination Lesson 2 Homework
We've discussed the possibilities of passing messages along through flowers, but haven't exactly explored what exactly could go into this practice. Therefore . . .
Assignment:
Create your own bouquet, using two or more flowers. Consider their meanings, and how they blend together to create an understandable message (provided the recipient also knows the meanings), and present your bouquet to someone else in the castle. And for the assignment, provide a short explanation of your bouquet, the meanings and the intent behind the message.
ooc: I'd like it if you could RP the presentation, at least. And send a link to me, along with the description/explanation.
Assignments will be due no later than midnight PST, July 10th (8am GMT, or 3 am EST, June 11th) and will be worth up to 10 points each. Late submissions will not be graded. Submission rules are explained in the first post of this thread. And, as always, have fun with this.

Divination Lesson 3: Books?
What: Divination lesson 3
Where: the Divination classroom
When: Sunday, July 17th I plan on trying to open the thread at some point that day, possibly even when I'm online between Saturday and Sunday, but the actual lesson may not start until Monday. It depends on how I feel, and how much time I can get online this weekend.
Bring: Yourselves, whatever you feel might be necessary
Keep an open mind, and I hope the lesson might be, if not fun, at least amusing.
