Why had he decided to do this, again? Right. The decision to give something novel a try. Jared couldn't help looking utterly laid-back and utterly lazy as he waited for the Badgers and Serpents to step into the court, though. He divested himself of the twin bags of gobstones - both bearing the Hogwarts crest; but one full of green gobstones, and the other of yellow ones - in his possession, and handed them over to the respective teams.

Was he supposed to say something?

Miss Flores of Slytherin does justice to her reputation as an excellent Gobstones player as she expertly rolls a green gobstone. Her aim is well-practised, and the gobstone comes to a halt less than half a centimetre away from the Jack Stone.

Hufflepuff doesn't attempt to outshine the shot. Slytherin wins the first point of the match.

Hufflepuff seems to have revived itself, and both houses take possession of the pit, Miss Flores rolling out a green gobstone, and Miss Dixon rolling out a yellow one. The first gobstone slows down a few inches away from the Jack Stone, and comes to an actual halt several centimetres off its intended mark. The yellow gobstone passes it, its stop nearer to the Jack Stone by a millimetre.

Both houses are now tied. Whichever bags the next point, wins the round.

Miss Dixon and Miss Flores take possession of the pit, once again. The yellow gobstone swerves off its intended mark, however, landing a good ten inches away from the gobstone. The green gobstone breezes by it, stopping right next to the Jack Stone. To the surprise of the audience, Miss Elizabeth of Hufflepuff chooses this moment to roll out a yellow gobstone, which bumps across the pit, bounces off the Jack Stone and veers off, but not before it causes the Jack Stone to spurt a bit of gob on the Badgers.

Hufflepuff incurs a penalty for rolling a gobstone out of turn. Slytherin wins the round.

First point your wand at the target, then create a short downward diagonal motion from left to right before creating a long straight upward stroke, and finally performing another short downward diagonal slash from left to right

It is clear that the Snakes are in excellent form, with sixth year Evelyn Flores leading from the front. She aims a green gobstone, which rolls into the circle, and stops quite close to the Jack Stone.

It seems Hufflepuff has decided not to challenge this shot. The round is Slytherin's, but don't lose heart, Badgers! It's still too early to decide the outcome of the match.
