La la la...

Random visits to returning professors were the best in Arya's opinion, catch them off guard and see what they're up to when not teaching, maybe sneak some candy from them. Professor Zoo was probably playing with his ducks. Heh. She stroll/bounced into the room and settled into the seat.

Door.

It needed a knocking.

Hm.

"Professor Zoooo!" She wasn't yelling. She was using her louder-than-normal indoor voice. There is totally such a thing. Arya flopped back dramatically onto the couch and waited for the man to emerge.

Kurumi made her way towards Professor Zookara's office with Walnut trailing not far behind her. The cat had practically begged to be let out of the common room - which Kurumi assumed had to do with all the first years trying to pull his tail or pet him when all the cat wanted to do was sun bathe.

Approaching the office door, she knocked twice and then took a seat next to a Hufflepuff girl that she recognized, but had never really spoken to. The shinny prefect badge did not go unnoticed and she stared at it for a few moments until Walnut snapped her out of it by jumping on her lap and purring.

"H-H-Hello," she said bowing her head shyly at the girl.

Maybe she should have waited for this girl to arrive before speaking loudly for Zoo? Eh. Didn't matter, he probably didn't hear her anyway if he was buried under all those rubber duckies.

Arya perked up at the sound of the young lion's voice, shifting her splayed figure into an upright position on the couch. She recognized her from... everywhere really. Heh. "Hai!" The whole badge staring went unnoticed as she was too distracted by the beautiful white cat. "That's a beautiful cat." Her head inclined towards the creature. "What's his name?"

"Th-Thank you," Kurumi flushed waving one of his little kitty paws at the girl. "This is Walnut." She covered the cat's ears. "He is a little full of himself these days, so complimenting him too much may be a dangerous thing."

She removed her hands from the cats ears and returned to scratching his lower back.

"I'm Kurumi," she smiled. "I...I'm afraid I do not know your name."

Grinning, she shook her head slightly, eyes going from the girl to the cat. "Sounds a bit like my sister's cat." Silly thing thought she deserved more attention because Annie was constantly feeding her complements. She briefly considered stretching herself out on the couch.

"Arya Lovegoods." Eventually she'd learn to add the Prefect bit to that introduction. "I've seen you around a lot." Random comment.

She stretched out on the couch.

"Pleasure to meet you, Arya," Kurumi smiled bowing her head again. She couldn't help but giggle as the girl made herself at home on the couch.

Kurumi scratched her head as she tried her best to remember just where she had seen the girl before - besides the obvious classroom setting. Then, it hit her like a bolt of lightening.

"Um...Arya...you...you and Sabel were...were...very close, right?"

She wasn't sure if this was a sensitive subject for the older Puff or not, but she sure hoped that it wasn't.

She hadn't noticed the head bowing until now, and wondered if she had to 'bow' back. It couldn't be done from this position though, could it? "It's nice to meet you too, Kurumi." This girl just had awesome manners.

"Sabel and I are very close." She nodded her head slightly, a smile crossing her lips. Noting the lion badge and figuring that she was probably a friend of Sabel's she looked at Kurumi expectantly. Follow up questions?

Conan had thought for a moment, before finding his way to the muggle studies room. Did he really want to talk to Zookara? Maybe. Yes. He was someone in a similar situation to him. Well he liked muggles. And Conan was a muggle. Never a wizard. He would never be a wizard. He knocked on the door, and went and sat with the two other girls.

Kurumi blushed. "I thought so, I often saw you two together," she said gripping the edges of her grey Hogwarts skirt and biting her lower lip nervously. To those that didn't know better, she was perhaps giving off the impression that she had liked Sabel when the reality was that he had been much more of an older brother figure to her and someone to look up to. "Is it...hard...being here and him not?"

It wasn't that Arya was ignoring the small boy that had just entered, just that Kurumi's question had caught her completely off guard, though really, it shouldn't have. Pouting a bit, she attempted to shrug her shoulders nonchalantly, eyes averting to the ceiling. "It's not easy... but we make it work." They tried. Daily letters helped. "You friends with him?"

Kurumi noticed the bottom lip of Arya stick out a little more than it had been moments earlier and her cheeks flushed. Then she noticed the girl looking up towards the ceiling and decided to follow her gaze...only to find that there was nothing there besides, well, the ceiling. I wonder what she is looking at...

"Sabel looked out for me, and we always seemed to be in the same awkward situations together," she giggled softly. "I wish I had gotten to know him better though."

Her cheeks flushed a bit.

"Must be nice...making it work despite the distance..." she said more as a self evaluation than an actual comment directed towards Arya. "Knowing that there will be a letter coming and that you will one day be able to touch..."

Noah had been a-snooping. Treyen had told him the man he'd pointed out was named Zookara. Further investigation told him Zookara was Muggle Studies, and after that he'd just looked rather pathetic until he'd been told where he could find this place.

Worked like a charm.

Seeing that there were a whoooooole three other people waiting, Noah didn't bother to knock. He sat a little way away from them, got out a potions book and began to read it as though it were a story. He knew it off by heart by now. Now to read until he was allowed in.

The rubber duck Kurumi had given him a few days ago still didn't have the perfect place amidst the others. And he just didn't know where to put it. He had tried it this way and that but somehow it never turned out to look the way he wanted it to. It was quite frustrating. And he didn't even have a good distrac-

Or maybe he did. Someone was at the door. Someone who was apparently trying to yell their way into the office. Right. Well, it had worked. And judging by the following murmurs from outside there was a conversatoin going on, which meant more people. Setting the rubber duck onto his desk to be thought about later, Jeremy straightened up in his seat slightly and called, "Come in!" at the door. They would hear that right, no need to actually get up.

A small smile touched her lips at the mention of his most infamous quality. "Sabel is always looking out for everyone, especially his friends. You should write him, I bet he'd like it." Take comfort in the knowledge that she was safe.

She didn't noticed the flushed cheeks, eyes still on the ceiling. Just like she didn't notice the firstie entering, mind consumed with her distraction. Hopefully that didn't make her a bad prefect since he happened to be a Puff.

And then they were back to talking about his absence again, the distance. This time she didn't allow the pout to take over her features, simply let her mind settle on positive thoughts and the like. "It is nice... the letters are nice. Sometimes they come with gifts." Which always had her happier than she normally was, and that was saying something. "Christmas."

They'd touch then.

It seemed the professor was using the same methods that she'd used earlier. Eyes flicked to the door momentarily before returning to the little lion she was speaking with. "Guess we'll have to finish our talk later." Because they were here to see Zoo, and she was sure he didn't want to talk about Sabel the entire visit.

Rolling up off the couch, she sauntered over to the door, opening it and leading the way into the office. Like a good Prefect right?

Melina sauntered into the waiting room, excited to start Muggle studies. After all, she was half-Muggle. It would be so cool to see how the Wizarding World really viewed Muggles.

She noticed a boy sitting more or less by himself, reading his potions book. Hoping she wasn't rudely interrupting him, she walked over to say hello. He looked like a fellow first-year, and she really wanted to add to the friendships she'd already made.

Keeping her voice low, she cleared her throat. "Hi there! I hope I'm not interrupting you. I'm Melina, and I'm a first-year. Are you a first year too?"
