Kim walked up to empty corridor and was looking at the beautiful portraits that laid all a crossed the wall one took his interest and that was a elderly man reading a book Kim walked up and started by saying.
"Hello how are?"
The man seemed grumpy and stated "Fine and yourself?"
"Excited because of the new term are you?" Kim asked kindly "Well in fact I am its been rather quite here lately." Kim nodded "So may I ask what your reading?" The Old man smiled at him and stated "That is none of your concern truthfully."

Kim was a little taken back and decided to take a few steps back.

Chloe was exploring 1st floor when she turned down a corridor and heard a young ladies voice saying, "Hello dear". She turned around and saw just a portrait and backed up abruptly right into someone. She had been here before she just could never get used to the place and now embarassment.

Kim had watched Chloe walk down the hall though she didn't notice him and he even saw her slowly start to back up onto him knowing he should move it just didn't truthfully register into his brain and now that she backed up into him he couldn't help but to laugh he walked around to face and looked at her and kindly stated with a smile "You really should have paid attention to your surroundings Miss Chloe."

Chloe heard a very familiar voice basically tell her to watch where she is going. She turned around and knew for sure who it is. "Kim, uh. I am sorry about backing into you. I was just startled by a talking portrait.", Chloe stated starting to blush beet red.

Kim gave a slight laugh and smiled at her "understandable it is always alot to take in isn't it" Kim turned and looked at the glorious portraits on the wall.

Chloe chuckled a bit loudly in response to Kim and responded, "Yeah, it's hard to get used to a talking portrait much less talking to one. And the one time I managed to strike up a conversation with one the portrait never wanted to shut up. Anyway, what brings you down this corridors Kim".

"Well I'm just taking a walk around because I was bored and a lot of things are on my mind." Kim said smiling kindly to Chloe "How about you what are you up to?"

"My usual. Exploring. Just happened to find my way here. And a lot on your mind, ehow. Care to share", Chloe asked hoping he would.

"Sure I will explain" he took a deep sigh before explaining "well during break I was engaged to get married" and he sighed yet again "a marriage between to families." Kim hated finally so depressed so he quickly put a smile on and looked at Chloe trying not to show Chloe the pain his heart was feeling.

"Thats terrible. You cannot let your parents do this to you. And as hard as you are trying I can see that this circumstance is giving you a lot of grief. No one should ever have the right choose another persons significant other. Thats too, personal, too horrible.", Chloe said going into slight histerics trying to keep control.

Kim smiled in kindness for how Chloe had cared about him "Well, its part of my cultures tradition to at times arrange marriages to keep a strong pureblood line, and not to faultier tradition and my soon to be bride also attends Hogwart's she is a fifth year."

Chloe calmed down bit and then said, "It still is not right. And the girl goes to Hogwarts. Who is she. If you must go through with this the girl will be in your life so I would like to meet her atleast", Chloe said seriously trying to sound supportive.

"Her name is Kim So Eun she is a slytherin fifth year." Kim calmly stated "Chloe I must say you seem a bit flustered why is that?" Kim gave a questioning look.

She could just say it's because she cared about him but she would be lying cause it is much deeper then just that. She weighed her options and thought he is a good freind and under the circumstances he should know about her family even if she had chosen in the past to not talk about her family life to any freinds at all.

Chloe took a deep breathe and said, "I am slow flustered because my mum had an arranged marriage when she was about our age. The first 6 years of my life I did not know it cause my mom was seemed so happy taking care of me on her own with my aunt coming by to help. My mother told me my father was off working as an auror keeping people safe from dangers. I thought of him as a hero. When I as about 6 and a half my mother told me she was going off to become an auror and be a hero alongside my father and that my auntie would be taking care of me. I did not like it but I was 6 there was nothing I could do. Anyway the first time I saw my mom again at an auror base I noticed she had eyes that did not look right, like mine when I did not sleep enough. I thought maybe she missed me. At the time I looked up to my dad as a hero and he was so happy to see me. He cuould not believe how much I had grown. I saw them quite a few more times that week so I realized it could not be that. I asked my aunt about it and ofcourse at first I got nothing but eventually through enough pestering she explained to me that my mom's situation. I could not look at my father quite the same since. Over the years I have learned my father is just a circumstance, not a problem. My mother has told me as I got older and coaxed it out of her that it is hard to be around him everyday because it feels like he is the one who stopped her from persuing life the way she wanted to. Though she knows it's just the circumstance her family put her in. I know she loves me but sometimes I wish she could have been able to chose whoever she wanted and live her life her way. I know that means I would have never been born but it does mean there would be some little boy or girl out there who would have a mother they could see bright green living eyes and not the blood shot dark circled eyes I see when I can see her. This is why I am so flustered and see arranged marraiges as absolutely horribe. I really do hoe yours will turn out okay though if you can't get out of it.", Chloe said and then a single tear shed down her cheek.

Satine walked down the hall glancing at the different portraits. She always found it interesting to see what they were doing. Some were mischievous, some kept to themselves, some where never in their portraits, some were beautimous or handsome, and some were...well they were just there.

She wandered down the corridor and stopped in front of one that was always empty. She had been at Hogwarts now for five years (since she was gone last term) and had never seen anyone in the portrait. The background was just of a beautimous waterfall with a red bridge in front of it. She would always stop and imagine what kind of person was in the portrait.

Joey walk up behide the girl boo she said with a laugh.i think its a women saw it last trem.i look i was right its a women on a bridge.

Satine was startled as someone walked up to her. She turned towards the girl's voice with a half smile because at first she thought it might be a ghost since ghosts sometimes tended to read your mind or snuck up on you like that. She was surprised and relieved to see it was a real girl.

She smiled at the girl, "Really, I've been stopping by this painting for who knows how many times over my years at Hogwarts and I've never seen anyone in this painting. She must have a suitor in another painting somewhere. " she said glancing up and down the wall trying to find someone that might be out of place.

She turned back to girl and held out her right hand, "Well, Howzit, I'm Satine...Satine Farris, sixth year Ravvie." she said with pride towards the girl.

Kim saw the tear being shed he took out his wand with a quick swipe he put it away now any tear she shed in front of him turned to a petal once it hit the air. "I see now how you feel towards arrange marriages, and I am happy you hope my that mine will be ok it means alot to see that you care and I am sorry if I made you in any way upset or emotional about bringing this up."

"Its alright Kim. I am okay." She wiped her eye and felt something strange. She looked at her hand and saw a pedal and looked at Kim and said, "Seriously, a petal in replacement of tears. Its cute but why exactly?", Chloe asked looking at Kim questioningly.

Kim laughed at the expression of Chloe "I personally like flowers my favorite is red chrysanthemum's but i chose a petal since I dislike tears and if I can help it help stop my friends from crying." With in a sudden action he whipped his wand out and then sprouted around Chloe were red chrysanthemum's all round her feet slowly growing upwards.

Salander trudged up the stairs and suddenly stopped short. He caught sight of the large portrait from last year-- that which he used to break Grayson's fall-- still bearing the hastily repaired crease marks from where the Ravenclaw girl had punctured through. He leaned for a closer look then chuckled. It was one of those accidental wrong spells that turned out better than expected. "Good times." he whispered quietly to himself.

Not that she was following him or anything but Mia had been wanting to talk to Salander ever since the train ride here. Now either he was apparently really busy or he was avoiding her like the plague. She tended to go with the latter.

So now that he had finally stopped and seemed to be reminicising about Merlin only knew what, Mia took her opportunity. She sidled up beside him and looked up at the portrait. "What is it?" She could never seem to work out what these paintings were supposed to be.

It was perhaps an immensely fortunate thing that the portrait was hanging securely against the wall this time, because had it been leaning or floating in the air like it did last year it would most certainly have been punctured through again-- this time by the Slytherin lad himself out of sheer fright at the voice that he heard beside him.

Not that the voice was even remotely frightening, more gentle, some would even say melodious. But then again this is Salander.

He spun on his heels to face the Hufflepuff brunette, flinching unconsciously, as he expected something flying towards his face any second. Did Mia just ask a question? "Whats what?" he blurted out quickly, his eyes looking for her hands. Pie? Fists? A wand ready for hexing? Dangerous, dangerous they are.

Really now!

Was she that scary looking?

Mia turned slowly away from the portrait and faced Salander just in time to see him flinch. She shook her head and heaved a deep sigh. Apparently he was never going to let her live that down.

"The portrait." She replied in a quiet voice. "What is it a picture of?" Not that she really cared at this point, she was just trying to make conversation with the Slytherin. Seeing how it was so hard to do these days.

She had this feeling that the first opportunity Sal got he was going to make a run for it, so Mia decided she best get on with it. "Look Sal. I apologise for smashing that cake into your face. It really wasn't nice of me. But you weren't being very nice either. Those things you said about Nik..." She trailed off not wanting to repeat the conversation.
