The white stone hut looks like it belongs on the beach of Acapulco, seeming a tad fragile with plant stalks making up the roof. But fear not, Maya has made sure it won't collapse on you during a heavy rainfall.
When approaching the ornate door, there is a small sign which says 'Take your shoes off'. Also, you will see a sitting area to the left, complete with its own roof for shade against the sun – if the British weather allows for any. Feel free to take a seat here while you wait for the Professor.

When you step inside, the first thing you notice is the colorful decoration. Following the traditions of the Mexican lifestyle, Maya has placed several zarapes around the hut (which are also strewn around the floor to serve as carpets) and any other keepsakes - reminding her of family and home. The white walls are adorned with picture frames and paintings, most of which were done by her mother.

To the right, you see an open fireplace with more pictures on the mantlepiece. There is a single white rocking chair across from it that Maya highly values. Please don't sit on it – instead, you are welcome to rest behind it, on the large comfy sofa. Keep your feet off the coffe table though!

A big window to the left side of the hut lets daylight pour inside, litting the room. This is the place where Maya's desk is situated for her to start working on assignments and the curriculum. There's a tall bookshelf next to it where all her favorite litterature is stored aswell as books on various Creatures, Veterinary Medicin and Magizoology.

Please remember to knock before entering. If any lack of respect is shown, Maya will not hesitate to take points. Now, when you are called inside, please take off your shoes as Maya likes to walk around barefoot and wants to keep her home clean. Thankyou.

The Professor is in.She is so in the door practically isn't even there anymore.

Do not constipate Maya's office with chatter.

Having had a nice first day back at Hogwarts, Maya decided to take a moment before starting on her different chores. The nice weather called for her traditional Mexican dress, and as it was warm, she didn't bother to put her boots on hoping to skip around in the fresh grass. Walking outside, bare feet and all, she took a deep breath and scanned the grounds with a smile on her face.
She hadn't thought she would be glad to come back, but she was. And she'd missed the creatures.

Right. She needed to get more firewood in her cottage, fix the break in the animal collective fence (probably Herbert's fault), load more hay into the feeders, check on the babies at the nursery... She'll think of more later.

Stepping up to the small woodshed, she began to pick out the logs to begin the chopping.

Kurumi approached Professor Saylen cottage making sure not to move around too much as she did so as not to disturb the pygmy puff in her robe pocket. Walnut had, earlier that day, tried to use him as a chew toy so the poor little guy was pretty frazzled. It was clear that she wouldn't be able to leave Momotaro and Walnut in the same room. She was sure it was due to Walnut being jealous of the pink cotton ball and that it would eventually pass, but, better to be safe than sorry.

She approached the door and knocked softly two times and waited for the professor to allow her in.

Fletcher wasn't keen on visiting professors but since he'd started off last term with a visit to the Tiger Lady's, he thought it couldn't hurt to do the same.

Plus... he had questions for her... and stuff.

Lazily walking toward the cottage in his worn work jeans, boots, and usual ~~raggedy~~ white t-shirt, Fletcher slowed down as he neared the hut and thought he saw a dark-haired woman near the woodpile. He glanced toward the door to the hut hut, where Kurumi was standing, and then back to the woodpile and decided to head that way instead.

"Sup, professa," he greeted the Tiger Lady in his favorite way, man-nod and all. "Need any help here?"

Fletcher was good at manual labor. Just ask the Gringotts goblins.

"I'm back here!" She called out, hoping the person would walk over to her and not the other way around. PFft, she was busy, wasn't she?

Jackie walked briskly to the Care of Magical Creatures' professors office. Well, by the look of it, it was more of a cottage. When she got there she knocked on the door quietly not to disturb Mellvy, her owl, who was resting on her shoulder. She looked and saw a sign saying to please take of your shoes. She removed her comfortable ballet flats from her feet and waited.

While she was waiting she looked at her owl. Poor Mellvy, she was clawed by Jackie's cousins cat Naru. Then she flew all the way back to Hogwarts. Oh she was mad at her cousin for sure.

"Good afternoon, Professor," Kurumi waved for a it of a distance as she continued to walk toward her. "Good afternoon, Fletcher," Kurumi said a bit star struck looking at him, Mr. Triwizard Champion. It looked as though they had the wood situation under control, but it would be rude to just stand there. "Um...anything that I can help with?" Kurumi supposed the asking about Chibi's whereabouts could wait for a little.

"Well," he moved another log and tried to think up a good appropriate-for-a-professor answer. "Yes. And no." He set the log down and scratched at his forehead where just a little bit of perspiration was starting to show. "I uh, acquired this little niffler guy last term, and then I acquired some gold," since you know, he had won the tournament and gotten himself an internship and all, "and I was wondering if there was a way to train nifflers?"

Like... to only go after certain shiny things???

While waiting for an answer, Fletcher went back for another piece of wood and then he saw Kurumi. "Hiya," he grinned at the girl. "I got this. No worries."

This was MAN work. Let the women watch Fletcher be all impressive and stuff.

Great, he wanted to help. Maybe she could try ~~trick him into~~ asking to scoop up the poo in the various creature homes. Hehe.

Chop wood? The Mexicana stopped what she was doing and sliiiiightly raised her eyebrow at Fletcher. Did he think she would let him chop? Haha, uhm-noooo. "I think I can handle that, Mister Fletcher."

So, on with the reason he was really here for, and she kept her attention towards the younger man as he spoke. The niffler she knew about (if it was the same one as last term), and the gold... either a inheritance or...the blasted tournament. Maya's calm expression almost disorted at the thought of that horrrrrrrrible tournament. But but, he was asking something, so...focus.

Train nifflers? "You are hoping he wont steal your gold?" Hehehe, that was kind of funny. It even made the corners of her lips twitch. "Yes, there is a way. Though it will require some time and patience from you." Because seriously, those nifflers were really into the bling. "Has he attempted to...'steal' your own shiny jewelery from you?" that is, has he been bitten? Heh. If so, they might need to do the training differently.

"Why don't you make sure there are no creatures roaming around the logs...wouldn't want to destroy their homes and kill them." Straight to the point, like.

And while she did that... "What can I help you with today, Miss Hollingberry?"

Nodding her head rather over excitedly, Kurumi dashed towards the logs and checked to make sure there was nothing....OH! A mouse! Kurumi reached into the pile and pulled out the small brown creature that gave a rather loud squeak at being exposed to the daylight so suddenly. "Oh hush now," she scolded the mouse as she walked a few feet away from the pile with every intention of letting the adorable thing go. "You wouldn't want Professor Saylan to chop you in half now, would you?"

Kneeling down on the ground, Kurumi released the tiny creature before turning her head around at the professor's question. "Oh, um, I was actually wondering about Chibi...erm, I mean the dugbogs we examined from last term." Kurumi stood up and slowly walked back to where there was much log chopping going on. "You wouldn't happen to still have them, would you?"

Following along the path that would eventually lead her to the Care of Magical Creatures professor's home as well as the Abraxan stables and shed, Katie's thoughts absently drifted toward the memory of last term when she had come down to meet the new professor and clarify a few things about the creature she had been assigned the term before. Like whether or not he was still here or if he had been moved someplace else, outside of Hogwarts.

This time she knew that her Abraxan colt (if he could still be considered a colt by this point, he was getting so big!) would be waiting in his stall, or maybe even outside of the stables, getting some fresh air. But he would be somewhere in the general area. She had other reasons for visiting the somewhat-more-stern-than-others professor this time around.

Glancing up as she neared the still very unique (at least to her) hut, the Hufflepuff approached the door, about to knock when she heard voices.. somewhere? She wasn't sure where exactily, except that they didn't sound like they were from inside. Eyebrows raising, Katie dropped her hand and considered her options.

Knock and seem like a fool when Saylen probably wasn't inside, or.. "Errh, Professor Saylen?" called the brunette, dark eyes scanning the front of the hut.

Walking up to the hut with his owl Bubba. Michael knocks on the door frame and takes off his boots and sits enjoying the warmth.stroking the owls head "yes Bubba I think she can help you "

Chibi? Maya's attention was brought back to the young woman, noticing that something that had rushed over towards the bushes. The Dugbogs? "I don't keep them in captivity, Miss Hollingberry." Because they weren't pets. And, they were dangerous to people who couldn't handle them. The Mexicana raised an eyebrow towards the girl, "Why do you ask?" Hmmm?

Hearing she was out by the wood pile he puts his boots back and walked back "Hi proffesor it is bout my Owl Bubba he not eatting and is pulling at his fethers showing her the patch on the bird that was startting to thin,setting the bird down on the wood pile so she could get a better look

Kurumi smiled. Just because she didn't keep them locked in little cages didn't mean she didn't know where they were at. Kurumi's eyes brightened a bit and a small smile crept across her face. "Um, well, last term...you know when we observed Dugbogs and Walking Sticks? Well, I know that mine bit me, but I became kind of attached to him...I named him Chibi...I was kind of wondering if perhaps I could say hello..."

Jackie thought quickly about the professors question. "Well she was at my house, in London. I don't know the type of cat," she said. Indicating to the scratch on the leg she said, "I think its a........actually I don't really know."

The Mexicana took a moment to look at the young girl, wondering what was running through her mind, before taking a breath. "Say hello if you wish, Miss Hollingberry, since they are no longer in my care. I released them shortly after the class." Maya explained with a small shrug. "However, I'm sure you know where one could find Dugbog's around here?" Eh, eeeeeeh? Could she? Well, Maya assumed Kurumi could. Heh.

Blink. Hold on. "In London?" Looking at the girl, Maya squinted, then looked at the owl. "This owl flew here...from London? Like this?" Oh dear. It was no news they could fly great distances, but flying hurt was another deal. So the wound was somewhat fresh. "Good of you to bring her to me quickly. Giving the owl back to the girl, and taking out her wand, she held it like a pen and 'wrote' something invisible on the palm of her hand. After a second, a small jar was produced with a clear blue gel inside. Opening it, she scooped some up with a finger, gently grabbed the owl's leg and began to put the ointment on the scratch. "You will get to take this ointment with you," hm, smelled like berries, "And you will need to put it on the scratch two times a day until the scratch is gone. No need to clean the scratch before, unless it has dirt on it... use water if it has." When she was finished, she smiled at the owl, then at the girl. "There you go." she gave the girl the jar "Do let me know how it goes. Did you see any more injuries on her?"

"Professor, are you giving me permission to go into the Forbidden Forest to find dugbogs?" Kurumi asked rather shocked and a little excited. Kurumi didn't know of any other marshes that existed besides those in the forest, and Kurumi wasn't sure that she wanted to go in there alone. "Unless, there are some marshes elsewhere..." which Kurumi certainly hoped there were. Or, maybe they were in the Herbology green house, you know, chewing on the Mandrakes.

The owl seeing the nice lady nuzzles her hand whit his head He stoped eating bout 3 day and started pulling his fethers out in the last day .... Bubba ..he has never been sick like this befor mostly things like split talon or crusty eyes , he has done a couple of long flights over the summer and was just fine " watching the bird to see if friend was in pain

Aha, so Saylen wasn't inside. It was a good thing she hadn't knocked after all, then. Maya neither responded or replied to the young man as he explained, keeping her eyes on the owl. There didn't seem to be any injuries on the creature, not that she could see anyways. The rest of his body seemed fine.

She needed her kit, she grabbed the owl and gestured for the young boy to follow her inside the cottage. "Please come with me, I need to give your Owl an ointment." Well inside, she searched on her shelf and found a large jar with a pearly white cream in it. "I'm going to rub this onto his bald spot here..." Maya sat down on the sofa, jar ready opened, "...to moisturize and keep him from picking on it."

"How often do you interact with...Bubba?" she asked while she worked.

Conan knocked on Saylen's door. He had a map in one hand and his book in the other. Well by a map, it was a scrap of paper from his notebook with Saylen in capital letters, and grounds written next to it.

Zookara, the scrap of paper told him, that that was the guy's name, had told him to come and ask Saylen if he had any questions about the book. And he was appalled, and scared, and it made him feel rather sick.

following her and making shure to take off his boots befor going in " if he is not off working I see him all the time, he still not likeing the owlery too much so he will come and find me and we will go down by the lake and goof off ...just befor he got sick he went out to drliver some mail do you think he got into somthing ? watching her as she worked to see how she put on the oitment in case he had to

"Just call it wishful thinking," Kurumi laughed nervously. It would have been pretty fun to get the chance to go back in and observe some of the magical creatuers again...as long as they didn't have eight legs.

Low...ceiling? Kurumi looked up thinking that there was something falling from the sky like a Hippogriff or a giant branch, but nothing was there. What was she talking about? They were outside! There were no ceilings.

Deciding to just ignore that question for the moment, Kurumi turned her attention back the the Professor. "Walnut is doing fine," she smiled. Sparying herself with a water bottle had really put the cat at ease. "He is thinking he is the head lion in Gryffindor now. He doesn't like it when I leave him for classes..." she paused for a moment and began combing her hair with her fingers nervously. "I-I was wondering if perhaps it would be alright if he tagged along for a Care of Magical Creatures class...I don't think he would cause any trouble."
