It was tradition for the girl to explore the grounds to see what had changed and what still remained. That included the professors that lived out on the grounds. Like she did with the creatures professor, Arya had made a trip to visit the new groundskeeper. Hopefully he would be more welcoming than the woman was. Couldn't have Treyen not liking this man as well.

There was a bounce in her step as she neared the hut, stopping at the door to take in the delicious scent. Mmm. She was defiantly taking a trip to the kitchens after this. Rocking back on her heels, she knocked on the door.

Chad had been laying on his floor as he played with his little cat, Mico when someone knocked on the door. He was curious as to who it could be, but nonetheless, he got up and approached the door, opening it up.

It was a student!

"Bonjour," Chad smiled, looking down. "Is there something I can help you with?"

Arya looked up when the door opened, grinning at the new face. He was French! Or just liked to use the word bonjour. Either way...he was cool in her book. "Hey! I just wanted to see the new groundskeeper." There was that strong smell again. "I'm Arya Lovegoods."

As Legend made his way over to the Hut of the new groundskeeper he held his head up high. He was there for a reason, a big important reason. So of course he had to look like he knew what he was talking about right?

As he got closer he noticed the same man from the feast in a conversation with another student. "Hello." He said coolly, maybe to both of them? It didn't matter.

"It is nice to meet you, Mademoiselle Lovegoods," he nodded, reaching out to shake her hand. "I am Mr. Stryker, the new groundskeeper." Duh.

After the boy's statement, Chad blinked a few times. And scratched the bridge of his nose. And nudged his cat away from the door. Probably could have made some coffee, as well.

That...was not the reaction he was expecting at all. Huh. "Welll yeah....My names Legend Chosen by the way Monsieur." Awkward. Maybe he should have introduced himself first? Huh...too late now. "And I guess you might have the potential to be a good groundskeeper." Nodnod. Might being the keyword.

Arya was giggling at the new groundskeeper's antics. He was FUNNY. Reaching out her own name, she took hold of his and gave it a shake. "It nice to meet you to, Mr. Stryker." Now that she knew he was a cool guy and all. "New French groundskeeper." Yeah, she'd noticed. Go her. Heh.

Her attention was diverted by the boy who seemed REALLY loyal to Masterson. At least he didn't seem to hurt the man's feelings. "I think your gonna be a good groundskeeper." Which meant he would, obviously. "Do you have a dog, Mr, Stryker?" It would be in his favor if he did...if more students like this one were hanging around. Plus she liked dogs.

Chad cocked an eyebrow at the boy, still grinning gently. Waiting for the boy to stop talking, he leaned against the door frame and slipped his hands into his jean pockets.

"I appreciate your opinion, Monsieur Chosen. However, if and when I need a boy, such as your self, to dictate how well I am at my job, then I will be sure to send you an owl." Chad then straightened up to his full 6'4" height and looked down.

"Anything else you wish to inform me of?"

"Noo..no dog. I has a cat." Chad pointed down as he moved his foot again to prevent the little calico cat from leaving the hut. "His name is Mico." He looked up at the girl. "Do you like cats?"

Isobel loved the outside of Hogwarts even more than she loved the inside. And since this man was the groundskeeper, then she guessed it was all because of him. So...she decided to go meet him. When Isobel got to his hut she saw that he was already talking to some other students. Well...um...she would just say hi then. Well, she wouldn't say hi, it felt weird to say hi. "Bonjour Monsieur," she said with a cheerful smile.

Another student? Oooh, he was popular! That deserved a wiggle...or a bounce. No. No, he would contain himself amongst the students. He withheld the wiggle/bounce.

"Bonjouur," he responded, smiling at the young female. "Are you enjoying a nice walk?"

So he didn't have a dog....but he had a cat, which was just as awesome. Glancing down, she wiggled her fingers at the cute cat. "Hey Mico." Cute. Her eyes flicked back up at the tall groundskeeper, nodding her head at his question. "I love cats. I have a kneazle, he's..." she made a vague hand motion towards the grounds. "Out there....exploring stuff." Such the adventurer her kneazle was, much like herself.

Ooooooo; he said Bonjour too. O.o Maybe he was French. Cool. Anywho..."Yes I am, she said with a smile. "It's very cool outside, I just thought you should know that? I especially liked the soccer...er, football, field. Do you play...football?" Isobel tilted her head to the left slightly with curiosity.

Huh. Well Legend could raise one eyebrow too! The sixth year had half the mind to mimic the new Groundskeeper, and see how he would handle that. "Well...I guess I'll be looking forward to that letter in the near future." Legend answered back with a smirk.

"Nothing else Sir. Pleasure to meet you." With that he turned back to the direction of the castle, and began to walk. Stryker was no Masterson but...he would probably grow on him.

Chad gave a curious look. She let her kneazle run about on the grounds? "Are you not afraid that he will get lost?" Chad was afraid to let Mico out. This was not like the house he used to live in with Reagan or the one in France, both of which had fenced in backyards. Mico was free to roam as he wished there. Here. Meh.

There was the forest to contend with.

He probably knows the grounds better than I do." The castle as well, not that many of the places he wandered she could get into. He wasn't that big of a kneazle. "I don't think he goes into the forest," she added belatedly.

At least she hoped he didn't.

Isobel gave him a small, shy smile in return. "Yes I do," she answered. "Less now that I go to school, but every summer I play. This summer I was appointed captain of my team." She was rather proud of that fact. Ooooo, he had a kitty. "I like your kitty," she informed him. "It's very cute." She smiled.

"That is very cool," he smiled, nodding and giving Mico a scratch behind the ear. "We should play some time. Gather up some students and stuff." He smiled and chuckled. He would sooooo lose that match.




"Want to pet him," he asked, holding Mico out for the two girls to scratch if they wanted to.

Isobel nodded thoughtfully. "We should, that would be fun." She moved shyly toward the cat and gently pet his head. "Hello," she said to the other girl with a smile. Then she looked back at Chad. "I have a cat too, her name is Etoiles, Star." Isobel didn't know why she said the French name for star before saying Star's name. She guessed it was just a habit to put random French word in her sentences.

"That is a cute name," he smiled, watching as Mico closed his eyes as he was petted. The little cat was even purring! Aaaw.

"I hope so," cause that meant that the man would be around for a while. Arya didn't mind change, but she hated when professors had to leave, especially those she loved most.

Her eyes followed him when he picked up the cat, her smile growing. "I'd love to." Letting her eyes flick from the man, she reached out and scratched Mico behind the ear. "If I find Perseus, I'll bring him over so you can see him." Nod.

Ooh! "That would be very nice, Mademoiselle," he smiled, nodding as well. "I am sure that Mico would very much enjoy some furry companionship. Someone to show him the grounds, no doubt." Chad smiled, looking down and watching as Mico's eyes closed in response to being scratched behind the ear. His cat loved being scratched behind the ear.

"Thanks," she said with a shy smile. Then an idea came to her. "You know," she said thoughtfully. "Each house should, like, have a...football...team, like quidditch, you know?" Probably wouldn't happen, it was just a thought. An awesome one though.
