The Milky Way Galaxy contains anywhere between 200 and 400 billion stars. A tiny fraction of those can be viewed right here, in the Hogwarts Observatory. This circular room was locked for a long time, but Professor Antares opened it again last term - complete with a huge telescope that was a new addition then. As it is difficult to operate, students need permission from the professor before they are allowed to use it, but a number of smaller telescopes that anyone and everyone is free to use are stowed away in cupboards lining the rounded walls.

Large star charts are pinned up on the walls as well. Not all of these belong to the school. Those that do not have a great number of notes and calculations added to them - although Professor Antares is first and foremost a teacher now, he is still able to supply colleagues with data and measurements. You are, of course, free to study his charts, but make very sure not to remove or misplace anything.

Stargazing, naturally, is an activity best pursued at night, and as such, the Observatory usually remains unlocked. Of course, there are superseding school rules that limit the hour at which students can still be out of bed. If you desire to study the wonders of the cosmos later than that, you need a note from Professor Antares. Should a student be found without such a note (or, alternatively, a creative excuse), he or she can expect... trouble.

In the same way that a library is more than just a building where books are stored, the Observatory is as much a place of scientific inquiry as it is a shrine to the grandeur and beauty of the Universe. Professor Antares, when he doesn't use the telescope for work, often comes here to think to himself, or for some peace and quiet. Please respect him and any other teacher or student spending his or her time here in this way by not running around or shouting.

Hugo looked at Fee. It was twilight and the light fell really beautiful at the tower. He went over to the side and looked at the grounds, and the forest. Wow...
"Did you know Albus Dumbledore died here?" he asked,
and looked over the rail. They were really high up, and his feet started to tickle from the height.

Fee stood next to Hugo looking down at the groubds and the forest.
This was really high.
They sky was shining red-ish and Fee felt her stomach tickle a bit.
"What? Exactly here?"
Fee's eyes grew wide. Oh wow.

"I would never go in there", she said.
Oh. It was getting really cold.
Fee shivered from the it. She should've brought a coat with her.

The Treehouse was brilliant.

Not his favourite subject by any means, but then Astronomy kind of wasn't the reason Jimmy was currently making use of the observatory. From up here there was a pretty good view of the grounds, which was good because he was still getting his bearings, and the sky if you happened to be in the mood for looking up, and best of all it was quiet. Kind of what someone who was secretly just a little homesick needed, really. Not that he'd mind company either, but he wasn't specifically looking for any.

He looked around the circular room, stopping to examine all the equipment and the few books that were there for student use and then he found a spot where a whole lot of cushions had been piled up. Jimmy threw himself on these, made himself comfortable and then lounged. Hands behind his head, feet crossed at the ankle, he closed his eyes and just sorta took a moment to chill.

Ehhhh his legs were aching again. And he was getting hungry. Again. Damned growing pains. Despite the mild aches and pains he was pretty comfortable and with his eyes closed and his eyelashes dusting his cheeks, well he looked quite innocent.

Funny how misleading first impressions could be.

Ah the last time she had been here had been when she was.... Err nevermind.

Well apart from Astronomy lessons. Oh she LOVED astronomy. It had been one of her best subjects in the OWL examinations an well, it was all sciency and quite frankly interested the blonde an awful lot. So making her way up to the observatory for no particular reason, apart from that she just felt like it, wasn't exactly unusual for her.

But as the sixteen year old actually walked into the observatory she spotted some guy who had by the looks of it, taken most of the cushions in this place. Hang on? Was he..Asleep? Well there was only one way to find out right?

Trix "accidently" bumped kicked a cushion over at him as she walked past. "Oops. I'm sorry" the girl fake blushed.

Jimmy opened one eye in response to the kicked cushion and distinctly feminine voice and after a long moment of one eyed consideration, he sat himself up a little, leaning back on his forearms.

"No big deal." He answered, looking up at her properly. "Unless you did it on purpose and then, maybe I'd be a little bothered." Nahhhhh he wouldn't be. Any situation that involved cushions and pretty blondes together was hardly a bad thing.

The Slytherin raised an eyebrow as she looked down at him. Not someone she had met before, unusual really seeing as she had been trying her best to meet like...everyone. Though he was a Ravenclaw by the looks of it and well, that was the house she had least friends in. In fact just Spatulaclaw probably. Jeez that was sad. Maybe she should try harder to meet Ravenclaws then.

"No of course I didn't" the Slytherin lied. "I truly apologize." Yes you could certainly tell SHE was a Slytherin. If you hadn't experienced her sarcasm or..okay just her nature in general.

Trixie eyed the boy at his response but later chose to raise an eyebrow. True she had done it on purpose but still, he was supposed to believe her. "Not my fault you were sat in the wrong place at the wrong time." Cue the innocent battering of the eyelashes.

"A cushion would be appreciated" the Slytherin replied back. Number one because she wanted to sit down and number two because she just wanted him to have to give up one of his precious cushions.

"Hmmmm." Cushion. He made a show of examining them and then selected one small one, passing it to her solemnly. It was just big enough to provide some comfort if you sat on it, but not big enough to lounge like James was currently doing.

"Nice to meet you, Trixie Malfoy." Huh. A Malfoy and a Wilkes. Look at that. It was like, historical and junk.

"If you're planning on sticking around, I'll make you a deal."

That was her job. Her being a Slytherin and all. Though there were plenty of non Slytherins who could give her sarcasm a run for its money. Pretty girls eh? Trixie rolled her eyes momentarily before shaking her head a little. "Well then you should have learned from your mistakes then" she smirked slightly. Or rather his blessings.

Oh so this was how they were playing was it? Battle of the battering eyelashes?

The Blondie eyed the small cushion. Just a patchwork pink cushion. Yes she could easily sit on it but she wanted a large one. She thought about hitting him with the cushion, she probably would have done had it been someone she knew well so she opted for a light ~~Whack~~ tap on the foot. "The deal is, you stay and talk to me, and for every thing you tell me about yourself, you can have another cushion." Not a bad deal. "Won't take all that long for you to be comfy and then I get company for a while." At least, "Until I run out of cushions anyway." He smiled, more friendly than anything else.

Like her house, year, age...Blah Blah. All the stuff you usually tell people when you first meet them. Details Trixie didn't exactly find informative, you could probably find out all that anyway, without having to ask them. "Deal. But you tell me things back" she told him. There was always two sides to a deal. Well there was for Trixie anyway. The blonde placed a hand on her hip and smirked.

"Well I'm pretty certain you don't want the boring details now do you?" she asked an eyebrow, for what seemed to be permanently, raised. He could ask her questions for all she cared. In fact why didn't he just do that? "What, say if you could, would you ask me about myself?" she asked. That way he could at least then get more out of her, even if it did turn into twenty questions. In fact that she didn't mind. Wasted a little time right? Besides she had nothing better to do right now. And she'd rather be here then bored out of her mind in the common room.

"First fact, I got Memory Loss middle of my fifth year, can't remember anything previous to the start of Diagon Alley that year. Slowly things return but I don't think its ever gonna come back completely." BAM!

First fact about her complete now shoot away. Ask questions. Talk about himself. Do whatever....

"Do you think you're... a different person than you would have been?" Hmm. "Kind of interesting, like, an opportunity to reinvent yourself or something, and figure out if you're actually the same person as who you were before or not."

He gently tossed her a cushion.

"I was homeschooled up until this year. Had twenty four different tutors."

The blonde caught the pillow and chucked it down next to the other one she had recieved. Oh he wanted to know more about the memory loss?

"Yeah I think it has, I can't remember what I was like before, but judging by what people have told me, I was a lot LOT different. An it's taught me to be more aware not only of people I don't know but those I do as well. People can turn at unexpected moments, you know what I mean?"

"So yeah, rather like a fresh start" which was probably a good thing for her.

You mean... more wary? Less trusting maybe?" Turn in unexpected moments huh? Well, wasn't it nicer to allow yourself to trust that people could be depended on? Especially your friends and loved ones.

"I guess, it'd be easier if you knew what exactly had changed. Whats it like getting the memories come back? Does it feel like its a completely different person to who you are?" He nudged another cushion at her.

"You want to know about all of 'em? Thats a long story. I just... pranks I guess. Trying to get my parents' attention to begin with, and then after that because I was bored."
